Came here on a weekday for lunch with a friend! We both got noodle soup, I got the C3 braised beef shank noodle soup with flat noodles and my friend got C2 the braised beef trio noodle soup with shank, tendon, and tripe with flat noodles. Absolutely AMAZING! The menu says that the soup is spicy, and it's barelyyy spicy for me personally, with the absolute ever so slightest tingle. Soup was flavorful, and noodles were the perfect chewy texture, soaking up the flavor of the soup as well. The noodles were so good we ordered more noodles specifically. The meat was also perfectly cooked, tender and melt in your mouth. Also got pickled cucumber on the side, but it was smaller than we thought it would be. Service was fast and attentive. Definitely would come back, whether to get the same thing or try something else! read more

Been wanting to try this beef noodle spot! Ordered the tomato beef noodle soup with thick noodles, soup dumplings, pork chop fried rice, beef dumplings in soup, and my parents got a regular beef noodle (I think, can't recall but tasted a bit herbal). Enjoyed the thickness and chewiness of my noodles. Wished the soup flavor was stronger and deeper. Soup dumplings were very full of meat but barely any soup! The pork chop rice on the other hand was VERY delicious. Only item I would get again. Def worth a try! read more

First time here. We got two combos, $54 per combo, one with handmade noodles, the other flat noodles, with the beef soup, shrimp fried rice, fried pork chop, pickled cucumbers, seasonal greens and two drinks for $54. We also ordered the spicy wontons. Per their bio, "Since 1948, Duan Chun Zhen had been selling homemade Sichuan sauces and braised dishes for a living as a Chinese immigrant in Taiwan. After she passed away, the family opened a noodle store named in memory of their grandma Duan and the aromatic Sichuan dishes she used to make for the family." I think the Flavors here are different from other Sichuan and Taiwanese restaurants. I always like trying new flavors and dishes. The family enjoyed everything and would like to come back. Noodles had a good chew. Broth had flavor. The fried pork chop had sauce so it wasn't crispy. Greens were fresh. Spicy wontons weren't overly spicy and it had toppings. Servers were nice and efficient. They brought out food quickly at 7:45 pm. There were 3 tables and they did not rush us. Small communication issues with ordering, but we all figured it out. Tables were clean. I thought the food was good, same with the service. My favorite was the pickled cucumbers. Some were great and crunchy and some were going limp. My family weren't fond of the tendons but I do. Shrimp on the fried rice was okay. After having shrimp from the gulf of Texas and Georgia, I don't really like the taste of shrimp from California. It was fun to try this place and it's good, don't get me wrong but unless someone really wanted to eat here, I would want to try another new place. read more

Been here 3x now. Always very clean. We always get the side dishes like the cucumbers. Our go to is the beef noodle soup. We prefer that over the tomato based noodle soup. I have also gotten the pork chop over rice and that is decent too. We also enjoy the milk tea. Service is also good. Highly recommend checking it out. read more

We went here for lunch and both got beef noodle soup - my husband got C1 with shank and tendon, and I got C2 with shank, tripe, and tendon. The broth was flavorful and very hot, the noodles were nice and thick (I got hand cut) and the meat was very tender. Our bowls were $19 each, which feels expensive to me but I think that is just how restaurant prices are these days in this area. The service was fast and the interior was clean. Unfortunately the soft serve machine was being cleaned. I would have loved to try their earl grey and matcha swirl. Just fyi the sign out front says Duan Chun Zhen, not Duan's Kitchen, and you have to go around the corner to find the entrance. read more

We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and my top favorites were the pork chop fried rice, braised beef noodle soup, and fried popcorn chicken. Dropped by this spot in Cupertino after a friend kept raving about their catering, and wow, so glad we came. Place is super clean and hygienic, spacious, and the staff are genuinely friendly, not that fake "scripted" nice :) Food is delicious. Noodle texture is perfect, that bouncy-chewy QQ vibe, not mushy at all. The beef shank appetizer is so tender!! like it almost falls apart when you pick it up. Was told this was a very good beef noodle soup restaurant. But honestly, it's good but still the best for me was in Taiwan . Noodles were excellent, beef was tender, bak choy was good, unfortunately the soup base didn't rise to the level I expected. Service was okay. If the waitress knew you, she had no problem chatting it up with you while the other customer (12 inches away) got to stare at her back and buttocks while eating. Lastly, after finishing our beef noodle soup our bowls sat there for a good half hour with no waiter or waitress asking if we would want anything else or the bill . Had to get up and ask for the bill before we left. Ambiance is loud and echoing. Hard to hear the person sitting right across from you at times. Duan Chun Zhen Noodles is located where the old Cupertino TOGO's sandwich shop use to be. Sadly, the ambiance of TOGO's was far better. Parking if good but only because the adjacent Mandarin Gourmet Restaurant closed. Honestly, I would have given this 3 Stars but the Beef Noodle Soup was good so they got 4 Stars from me. read more

Had the tomato egg noodle as a I had a craving for comfort food, and their spin on it was unique and flavorful. It came with a fried egg, which was fluffy yet crispy and paired really well with the tomato soup! Hit the spot for sure. I've been here twice now and it hasn't disappointed! Pictured: D1 and D8 I'm always on the hunt for good beef noodle soup on par with Taiwan's and this is one of the best places I've found. I love the aromatic stock (you can really taste the spices) and the texture of the handpulled noodles are great - very chewy. Also approved by the Taiwanese parents who don't like things overly heavy or salty. I like the twist on the beef noodle soup with the Sichuan spices (since this was founded by a Chinese immigrant in Taiwan). I personally liked the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup more than the normal Beef Noodle since the sweetness from the tomatoes really adds to the flavor! One thing that I think could be better is the softness of the tendon - it could be cooked a little longer so it is easier to chew but still delicious. read more

I'm always on a quest to search for delicious beef noodle soup, so when I heard this place is quite well-known in Taiwan, we gave it a try on a Friday dinner! We ordered the Braised Peanuts (D3), Braised Beef Noodle Soup (D5), and Tomato Beef Noodle Soup (D10). We weren't in the mood to devour potentially succulent and delicious cow tissue and muscle that day, so we got the no meat options. Braised Peanuts (3/5): Strong braised flavor that penetrates these nuts all the way through, but such a tiny serving for 5$! Braised Beef Noodle Soup (4/5): This definitely is not your traditional soy sauce braised beef noodle soup flavor. Instead, the steaming hot broth elicits notes of savory Japanese curry kissed with a splash of floral Sichuan pepper. It's also quite greasy, embodying the meaty and fatty bovine essence that's infused within the broth. I got the thin noodles which have a nice chewy texture. Tomato Beef Noodle Soup (4/5): This one's broth exudes that beefy essence but with the added blessing of tomato and shallot acidity. It's a brightening contrast to the savory beefiness. I got the handmade noodles which are the wide and flat kind, and they had a QQ bounciness enough to launch me out of my seat! On my first few bites of the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup, there was a strong and off-putting plastic taste...not sure where it was from but it went away after desperately enduring more consumption. The interior is clean, modernized, and has very bright lights. Overall, this place is good enough that I'd come back to try the beef noodle soups with meat. read more

My partner and I were quickly seated on a Saturday afternoon, and I thought the inside was super modern and had nice lighting! The Pork Chop Fried Rice was a decent portion to share between the two of us, and we had a bit of leftover after our meal. The pork chop was juicy and had an addiction crunch to it! I do wish they were a bit thicker pieces though! The Classic Beef Noodle soup was also good and flavorful. The beef was tender and the noodles had a great smooth texture. Solid spot for Chinese dumplings and noodles! Everything we got was good, but not omggg this is new my favorite spot. They don't have chili oil on the table, but I was able to ask for it. Not spicy, but very, very flavorful. Tofu with thousand year old egg was sooo good! It has pork floss on it too, so complimented so well. Pork chop fried rice was pretty standard. We asked for extra chili oil and dressed up our fried rice. Handmade noodles with tendon, tripe, and shank. Broth was decent. We also added some chili oil to this as well. Their noodles were awesome. Nice, thick, and chewy. House special dry noodles weren't very dry. It wasn't a sauce, felt more like less broth. This was okay. I would skip. read more

This place is the most favorite Chinese noodles so far. Inside decorate so modern and warm, brighten enough and more air inside even is busy too. Service is nice and friendly as well. We got fried rice deep-fried pork (10/10). It's recommended that you order it. The pork meat flavor is a bit like popcorn chicken flavor. The meat is juicy, and the fried rice is dry enough--not too dry or too wet. It's perfect!!! The noodles we got are D.13 with handmade noodles and Chinese donuts added on (7/10), which is pretty good. The meat was so tender and juicy. Came here on for Saturday lunch because we were craving Taiwanese food and it hit the spot. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and we were seated immediately. There was a set menu for two people that came with ~3 entrees and some appetizers but we weren't a fan of the rice options and substitutions were not possible (we asked). We decided to order a beef noodle soup instead and their pork cutlet. The beef noodle soup had a rich broth to it but it didn't come with as many noodles as I had expected. Maybe about 4 long ones which didn't feel like much. The pork cutlet was delicious but a bit soggy. Personally, I wouldn't recommend ordering this. We also got the picked cucumber in the side. The cucumber wasn't the freshest but had a tangy vinegar seasoning to it. read more

Since 1948, Duan's Kitchen had been selling homemade Sichuan sauces and braised dishes for a living as a Chinese immigrant in Taiwan. After she passed away, the family opened a noodle store named in memory of their grandma Duan and the aromatic Sichuan dishes she used to make for the family. Duan's Beef Noodle Soup is a bowl of phenomenal flavor that took nearly 18 hours of sophisticated preparation before serving. Start from stir-frying 23 different Sichuan spices and beef tallow to allow the flavors from the crushed peppercorns and other spices blend harmoniously in the simmering pot. The pig ear was great but I think the family likes a bit more flavor with the cucumbers, some were ok but some did not have much vinegar at all. We then shared the signature Wagyu big bus and wife got the spicy beef miishien soup. The signature broth was creamy, milky and so delicious! The kids loved the noodles and flavors. Wife's beef noodle soup was good, she did enjoy our broth more. We will make this a regular stop for good food especially with the upcoming cooler months!

The cucumbers were also refreshing. The cold cut chicken was unfortunately tough and the dip appeared to be unseasoned. The individual beef dish didn't stand out - other than the fact it was salty. The place looked inviting when I picked up the food. Parking was plenty.

Using the QR code we ordered the famous $15 half duck which amazingly is offered for eat-in every day. In addition we tried the beef rice noodles, baked oysters and shrimps. I'm a bit cowardly when comes to spicy food, everything besides the duck have some levels of spiciness which is a little restrictive for me. From what I've been told Changsha Rice Noodle is what is displayed in the Chinese characters for the sign. Now after getting the confusion out of the way about the venue name, there's no confusion about why this spot is popular and known for their BBQ items, especially their roast duck. There's a weekday dine-in special price of $15 for half a roast duck. This is what we ordered, and added a bowl of rice ($2) and some eggplant with green bean spicy rice noodles. Everything we had was delicious, authentic, and nicely made. The roast duck really was impressive. Crispy skin, cooked just right and moist with flavor and that five-spice umami fragrance - as well as not tasting heavy or overly oily. Highly recommended. The eggplant and green bean noodles went really well with the roast duck, but is also a good stand-alone noodle dish too (especially for vegetarians). The spaghetti shaped rice noodles were a perfect texture and had a soft bounce without being under nor overcooked. Flavors were really nicely layered and not overpowereing in either umami or spice levels for this regional dish. My friend and I were both very impressed and will definitely return the next time we're in the area. This restaurant is across from the Apple campus in Cupertino and in a sizable shopping/dining lot with 99 Ranch Market, Sheng Kee bakery, and over a handful of other food, snack, dessert, and boba tea shops. There's 2 entrances and sections. One entrance faces the inner shopping courtyard and 99 Ranch market grocery store and it opens up into their finer dining section, which can be arranged for private events and accommodate a small wedding party. The second entrance is the main one, which faces the 2 story parking lot and opens up into their casual dining section (has booth and regular table seating with bbq meats hanging on the rack). There's plenty of parking outdoors as well as in a 2 story parking lot (with a couple EV charging stations too).
