Love dropping by Dudley's when I'm in the area. They do everything well here. The baked goods are incredible, the sandwiches are delicious, and the coffee bar is pretty solid. There's usually a line here, but it's totally worth the wait. There's a cool little store inside that sells all sorts of little knick knacks which really add to the overall charm. It's a good roadside stop if you happen to be driving by.

Dudley's is always a great stop! It's a little pricey however it's worth the money for these great tasting bakery items.

A must stop when driving up to Julian. They have delicious pies, jams, olive oil, and their famous bread. Great variety of flavors and good price. I always get the jalapeño cheddar and the raisin date. You can always freeze the bread and grab some slices as you go so the bread does not go bad. They also have coffee and breakfast options and a cool house items to buy. :)

Dudley's has Sandos and baked goods, delicious macarons with a line out the door. bread for sale too. long line but with it for the experience. some couch seating by the door. very large space but not much seating.

So many wrongs. BF ordered egg and cheese croissant . I ordered French Dip. For eat in. Egg and cheese came on a smashed bun with what looked like prefab eggs and very little to no cheese. His remake with croissant was no better and smallest, coldest sandwich I've ever seen. He got a refund. My French Dip was more like a pressed cheese sandwich with maybe two slices of gray beef. The Au Jus was brown water with no flavor. Adding the horseradish cream, salt and pepper out of those little packets didn't help. Never, ever again.

Such a cute and charming local bakery to get delicious pastries, sandwiches, whole loaves of bread, cafe drinks! We tried their spinach feta pastry, raspberry cheese danish, and spiced apple walnut pastry. They were all tasty, flaky, buttery with the perfect level of sweetness. Their chipotle turkey sandwich was also fresh, flavorful, and filling! All the ingredients complemented each other from the pepper jack cheese to the red onion, tomato, chipotle aoili and jalapeño cheddar bread. They sell whole loaves of all sorts of breads, pies, cookies, muffins, cafe moto coffee, local honey, etc. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating as well and plenty of free parking. A must stop in town! Prices are very fair and reasonable and service is prompt and efficient!

Very cute coffee shop on our trip to Anza borrego and glad we stopped by. Honestly we actually stopped by just use a restroom but this was a really good find. Lovely aesthetic on the inside and quite a nice selection of items for purchase as well. The variety of breads they have was unbelievable! Put the bread lover in me really wanted to go all out. The pastry selection was also really lovely. Husband and I got the Pistachio Stuffed Flaky Brioche and it was really delicious even a few hours later. The pistachio cream was smooth and not too sweet either and when really well with the croissant. Sister-In-Law got the Nutella flaky brioche and that definitely did have quite a lot of Nutella inside! Definitely value for money. Friends also got one of the savory pastries and they said the flavor was really nice but it wasn't really crispy.

We come here at Dudleys mostly for their Pies, their bread and other Pastries were good too. My wife can eat a whole pie here in one sitting by herself; that's how much she likes their pies. We mostly eat here at their place and then buy more pies to go. We always purchase their APPLE PEACH PIE and APPLE MANGO PIE. Both pies were really good, have plenty of fruits inside their pies too, and most of all they are not overly sweet. Staff are friendly, and plenty of parking around.

I haven't tried the baked goods yet. We stopped here on our way to Julian and decided to come back on our way home and bought baked goods, a Dutch apple pie. When you come to Julian (technically not Julian yet) you gotta get a pie. The pie looks good. And the loaf looks yummy. The cashier did a nice gesture and she was friendly. The place looks inviting, didn't feel like sitting down to eat but the place looked like a good place to bring some baked goods home. Forgot to mention that the price of pie ($20.95) is way cheaper than my regular supermarket.

Raisin date but bread! I haven't had this in 30 years! Only waited 10 minutes to be helped - I wasn't looking forward to a long line and was happy to see it short midweek! Probably bc it wasn't a weekend. Yummy bread - next time I'll try other loaves - this time I just wanted a taste of nostalgia - be back sooner for more

The bread here is good and I like the Dudleys ginger raisin and molasses fruit bars. The service is always right on schedule and the ambience is always changing and clean and fun. It's great that they're open now seven days a week 730

Stopped by this bakery, that I have been to many times before. The 5 star rating is only based off the food. Customer service is always terrible here. Their coffee is typically made incorrectly as well. However, the pastries are delicious. They sell these molasses fruit bars that are soooo good!!

We've been coming to Dudley's for over 30 years. In the old days, I would take orders from friends and family members and come home with 20 loaves of bread to distribute This has always been a very good bakery - for breads, muffins, cookies and pastries. Now, they also have a cute little gift shop. Today, we stopped by and bought a bear claw and a savory spinach pastry. The savory was good, but it almost had too much spinach. We really enjoyed the bear claw with a yummy almond paste and would definitely buy it again. I also purchased a few cute cards. They have clean restrooms, but you'll have to ask for the code to get in.

We already got our pie fix at Mom's, but made this our last stop before heading out. It was so cold out, a super chilly day, there's nothing more perfect than to grab a hot cup of steaming Apple Cider! It hit the spot! I couldn't stop just standing there sipping my hot cider while waiting for our to go items to be prepared. We got two apple cider donuts, one cinnamon sugar and one chocolate dipped. Long ago, I tried these tiny heart shaped pie crust cookies covered in cinnamon and sugar - Apple Memories! These are crisp tiny bites of love that you want to take home every single time! There are actually two buildings. One where you can grab a bite to eat, the other has all the merchandise, and both have whole frozen pies to grab to go! The building where you can dine has a small inside dining area, it can get cozy in there, but on a chilly day, that is exactly what you want! Just outside there is plenty of room outdoors to enjoy the scenery. In the merchandise building I couldn't help myself... we took home a whole gallon of apple cider, and also bought a jar of Cinnamon Apple Honey Spread and a jar of Apple butter... absolute yum! The hubs also decided to try the apple cinnamon chapstick! Yes, you can grab one of these famous pies at many different establishments throughout San Diego. To make name a few, Iowa Farms, Spring Valley Market, Siesel's and even at Vons! But if you're in Julian, don't forget to try a pie, grab some Apple Memories, and don't forget to bring a hot thermos to take that hot Apple cider to go! Enjoy!!! Simply the Best! We settled on this location since we had a large group, and they had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The shop itself is super cute and I think their outdoor seating is where they really shine! I got a slice of bumbleberry pie but also tried my friend's apple pie and strawberry rhubarb pie, all with crumble crusts, and they were all good with the perfect crust texture. I also got a taste of my friend's cinnamon ice cream which was good and went well with the apple pie! Lastly, I ordered a pint of their apple cider which was refreshing and just the perfect amount of sweetness, although it was a bit on the pricier side. They also had other things for sale like dog bones, honey, and seeds. The place gave cozy rustic vibes for sure. The pie was crumbly and the apple filling was sweet and warm. Pairs perfectly with the cold vanilla ice cream! If ice cream isn't your go-to pie accompaniment, you can also get whipped cream. Food was so good (burger and grilled chese with brisket.) And even though it's in the podunk Santa Ysabel, there are other things (pie, bread) at the same intersection so you can get a lot done. It defies logic that other sit-down places will meticulously prepare quality, fresh food, then slap frozen Ore-Idas down on the plate. Farmhouse 78 does not do that. Fresh cut potatoes fried in beef tallow. Doesn't get any better than that. I'd add a sixth star just for the fries if I could. I plowed through them before I even touched the sandwich.

I even brought friends who had never been here before, thinking it could become one of our regular stops when we're out hitting the trails. Instead, it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth... and not just from the food. Waitress: Where do I even start. She claimed she was hard of hearing--but her attitude spoke loud and clear. Tossing menus on the table, aggressively slamming salsa down, and getting snarky over being off because our party count was off by one person. Seriously? It took two seconds to adjust the table, but apparently that was just too much. Yes, she technically did her job... but with such a cold, unwelcoming, and rigid attitude that it made the whole experience uncomfortable. What really stood out? We were there first and ready to order, yet she chose to take care of every smaller table that came in after us. No communication, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. Just ignored. Basic courtesy clearly isn't part of the service here. And trust me--I used to be a waitress. I handled large parties all the time and actually communicated with my tables. It's not that hard. Honestly, if gratuity hadn't already been forced onto the bill, she would've gotten $0. The only pleasant person we encountered was the busser--quick, friendly, and actually seemed like he wanted to be there. Maybe swap their roles, because he outperformed her by a mile. Food: Let's talk about the food... if that's what we're calling it. Everything came out cold. Not "warm-ish," not "could be hotter"... just straight up cold. It felt like our plates were sitting under a heat lamp for way too long before making it to the table. One "white" friend asked to have her meal fixed--fine, no problem. But when another "Hispanic" friend asked the same thing? Suddenly there was attitude, menu slamming, and mumbling under her breath. So... what exactly was the difference? Why the inconsistency and hostility? If the kitchen is that backed up, maybe management should step in and help instead of letting food die in the window. Just a thought. Final Thoughts: This place had potential... but that waitress single-handedly ruined it. We'll be taking our group (and our money) elsewhere--Dudley's Bakery is looking like a much better option moving forward. I usually bring large groups out here, so this isn't a small loss. Unfortunately, if this is the level of service they're okay with, this place isn't going to improve anytime soon. At this point, it's less "Farmhouse charm" and more "junky barn energy."
