I've been to two other Duke's, but my first visit to this location. I was searching for a restaurant with a large patio, and this place fit my needs during this COVID time. Not only do they have a large patio, they generously spaced their tables, and a continued breezy from Lake Union kept the air flowing. This was my first at-restaurant meal since the shut down, and I found the PERFECT location. Staff had mask on. At the front, there's a QR code that you can scan to get the menu and avoid touching paper. Or just surf online. That's what I did. Food wise. It's always reliable and consistent. Their crab cake is wonderful. Have it by itself, on a salad, or commonly ordered as a sandwich. We had the crab cake sandwich combo with the lobster bisque. The unchopped seafood salad (ordered Duke's way, which is chopped) is delicious and light, not drowning in dressing. Be sure to save room for their warm sourdough bread. It's fantastic bread. A minor nitpick is that there's no free parking. Currently the city of Seattle is charging only $0.50 an hour, which is cheaper than paying for the lot immediately outside. We had a nice meal this evening at Duke's. You do pay for parking in much of the front lot. Ask for an outside table, overlooking the marina. They do have ceiling heaters and there are acrylic partitions between you & the water, but the views are great. They bring out a nice basket of sourdough bread. We shared the salmon sliders appetizer, which were especially tasty. I ordered the Unchopped salad and my husband had a the burger and a beer. The salad was the best one I have had in a while, with shrimp, scallops, and cashews tossed in. It sounds unusual but it is delicious. read more

We dined today at Duke's in BELLEVUE. My first time at that location! Impressive ambiance and a nice warm welcome by the host (male) ...didn't get his name. Very friendly. We sat by the window on this nice cool day. We enjoyed our food very much and Isaiah was our professional server. Excellent service all around. Super clean restrooms too!! Felt very safe dining in. The staff complied with mask wearing and social distancing. Clean restaurant. We will definitely return for dinner next time! Can't go wrong at Duke's..see you next time! If you're looking for a nice seafood restaurant to celebrate any occasion, Duke's is a great choice. Located right along the water with great views of Lake Union, the ambiance is pretty cool here. As soon as you walk through the door, take a look up and you'll see a boat serving as the roof for the grand staircase. Pretty neat! The menu can seem a bit overwhelming but I would suggest getting a combo so you can try multiple things. The combo I got allowed me to get a bowl of their famous clam chowder and a black cod fish taco. The clam chowder was superb. It wasn't overly creamy and hit the spot! The black cod was prepared well but I wasn't too fond of the tortilla which broke quite easily. In all, Duke's is a classy spot for seafood with great views of Lake Union. read more

Duke's is an amazing seafood restaurant with a casual, laid back atmosphere. Great views over South Lake Union and fun decorations inside to fit the view. The salmon and crab cakes are excellent and I would definitely come again. Food The salmon pasta was one of my favorite dishes that I tried. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy and I loved eating it with the white sauce. The vegetables were a nice touch and went well with the pasta. I would highly recommend getting the crab cake if you have a chance. The menu says that it's mostly crab and not a lot of cake and that was definitely true. Tons of crab on top of a slice of bread. Make sure to scoop up some sauce. Atmosphere The inside is decorated with a seaside feel and gives it a casual vibe. The views of the lake are nice and unobstructed. During the summer, Dukes is a perfect place to enjoy the lake. Pricing The prices for food here is on the higher side (as it is seafood). I sat at the bar and had a scallop app that was drenched in a thick cheese sauce. I actually went back the following week with my wife, and I ordered that same thing, but for some reason it wasn't as thick? Different chef? Who knows, so, your experience may vary, Other than that, they seem to have most of the same menu items that other Dukes have. They are of course, known for seafood, and you really can't go wrong in that area. So, Cute decor, great seafood, and good service. That said, I am deducting one star for consistency. I loved the scallop app the first time I had it, however, I was disappointed that the second time, it was not as I remembered. And for those reasons, I am awarding 4 stars. I'll start this review by saying "I am not the biggest fan of chowder". That being said, I still enjoyed the chowder from Duke's Seafood. I had the lobster chowder and I found it to be quite hearty and buttery, it also paired nicely with their sourdough. The restaurant was a lovely space for group gatherings and seated our party of 9 last minute, which was amazing! Our server was very attentive and answered our questions enthusiastically and honestly. I was here several years ago on a business trip. I had almost forgotten the name, but definitely wanted to go back. My wife and I both had an incredibly enjoyable meal. You cannot be the view and ambience of Dukes. We spent five days traveling the West Coast and eating seafood everywhere from food trucks to Five Star five diamond restaurants. Went here after a Seahawks game because I really wanted to try seafood from the PNW. I'm from Maryland so we definitely know how to do seafood especially crab cakes. But! I looked this place up and saw that all the food was good so I got oysters, deviled eggs, and the three course dinner meal. To drink, I had the blood orange margarita. First, the oysters were really good. Definitely better than expected. The deviled egg was just meh. For the three course dinner meal I had a spinach salad, lobster chowder and the crab cake. The lobster chowder was really good. The crab cake was good I was just confused that it came with zucchini and potatoes. All in all, definitely good food. My cousin recommended Duke's after Ray's decided to cancel happy hour on Columbus Day. I am so happy we came to Duke's for happy hour menu. It's such a good deal to share appetizer with friends and enjoy $3 off drinks. We each got cocktails and award winning clam chowder. Shared blackened halibut quesadilla which is fantastic and the halibut is juicy and meaty almost tasted like bbq chick thigh. The wasabi aioli is an nice touch. The crab cake with guacamole is pretty good but I guess I like east coast crab cakes better. Also tried calamari steak fries which is nice and light as a fried item. The warm sour dough bread was a special treat. We liked the calamari, and the wasabi aioli was a good accompaniment. The combos are a better deal. I had the single sea cod taco, which was plenty when accompanied by the chowder. My companions had the two different versions of halibut and they loved them. We had one day in seattle and were told we MUST eat at Duke's! We came at prime dinner hour and waited about 25 minutes for a table. We were seated outside, which gave us gorgeous views of the water and sunset. There was an extremely loud party behind us, which made it a little hard to hear. The sourdough bread given to us was incredible. I almost wished I ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl! The waitstaff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered Duke's Favorite Pasta with Wild Salmon. It is described as followed: Lightly blackened Wild Alaska Salmon on fettuccini pasta with basil, garlic cream, caramelized bell peppers and onions. I assumed it would be a light cream sauce but instead it was much heavier almost like fettuccine alfredo. The taste was incredible but I wish I knew how heavy the sauce would be before I ordered it. The salmon was extremely fresh and delicious. I also ordered a dinghy of clam chowder. They weren't kidding when they said it's just a taste! 3 sips and it's gone! This was such a nice treat after a long car ride. If you are craving fancy sea food, stop here and you won't be disappointed. The locale itself is super clean and the staff greeting you are friendly. You have a choice of valet parking but we opted to just park ourselves (large parking right outside) We were seated by the window that overlooks their patio where a wedding was taking place, so we got dinner and a show at no extra cost, haha The food: came in a timely manner. While you wait, you are served the freshest and warmest, most delicious bread. I ordered lobster chowder and it was very flavorful. Generous bowl but a tad thick. The seafood salad was the best option, large and fresh option, the scallops and shrimp were not only fresh but also cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish tacos were also seasoned well but two tacos were not enough to satisfy my son's hunger. Keep that in mind when ordering. The pasta and salmon were good but not thing out of the ordinary. Black peppered salmon was delish but the pasta could have done without the thick pieces of veg. The Margarita and I got along just fine. All in all, the ambiance was good, food was good but for the $200 we spent, I would have expected a bit more food. read more

We came for lunch on Sunday. This place has a wonderful view of water and plenty of outdoor seating. Loved the Rose wine called Revolution. We also enjoyed the salmon tacos and crab cakes. Clam chowder was OK but not the best. For dessert, we had a Carrot cheesecake to go and it was disappointing. Also we had to pay $6 for parking. Overall we enjoyed it so definitely come back. This is the third Duke's we've tried (the other two we've been to are Tukwila and Bellevue), and we visited on Friday March 18. This place has fantastic views and is great if you want a table to look out at South Lake Union - I'm sure in the summer it's awesome to sit here and watch the seaplanes arrive and depart, and we'll come back for the ambience. Service was very good although not amazing (servers did not pick up on all of our comments that we were out for a birthday dinner), plus a few other misses, not quite at the caliber of the other two Duke's we've been to. The food was definitely not as good as either of the other two Duke's: 3 stars for the food, but +1 for view. What was good: bread was excellent, hot fresh sourdough with butter. Drinks were reasonable. Chowder was Duke's chowder, always good, although the comment was that the lobster chowder seemed a little sweeter than usual. Steamer clams on special were delicately garlicky and watery, and needed more oomph. Fish and chips were delicious, crispy and perfectly done. Warmed berry crumble pie had a nice crunchy crumble and a great berry flavor but was a little doughy (more berries less crust please!) What was not good: my salmon was charred to death. I don't think I've had salmon this dry in a long time - it takes some effort to cook salmon that long, so it's dry in the middle and black and burnt around the edges. The asparagus with it was pretty good. Offspring had the special fettucine with clams and sand. They were not happy at all about the beach experience and did not finish, did not take home. Dessert chocolate (cheesecake? frozen pudding cake? ice cream pie?) thing was nondescript mass produced, not a delightful splurge. read more

This place is so good. There's no other way to describe the food at Duke's than "delicious". I didn't even get pictures of the food because my friends and I were too excited and ate all of it before it came to mind! The restaurant features a fun exterior, with its main entrance on the first floor of the building indicated by the large boat-like exterior feature. With the restaurant up on the second floor of the building, diners can get unobstructed views of Lake Union and the bridge off in the distance by sitting on its protected outdoor patio. We opted to eat inside since it was rather chilly out that day. I ordered a "dinghy" (how cute is that!) of the clam chowder since we also ordered calamari for the table and they provided plenty of their delicious, fresh double sourdough. The chowder is unlike any other I've tried before. It features so much depth of flavor which is no doubt provided by the combination of smokey bacon and fresh herbs that come together in a creamy, "unctious" base. The sourdough and soup work hand-in-hand to become a combo that is just delightful. Everything else that we ate and drank was also wonderful, from the crisp calamari to the tart blueberry lemon drop that served as a refreshing addition to a rich meal. Topped off with fast, friendly service, our experience at Duke's was great. I will make it a point to go back when I visit Seattle again! read more

Great atmosphere with an excellent view of Lake Union. Prices are high but the food is great. Only suggestion is that the chowder prices need to come down substantially. $13 for a small Cup (6 ounces) or $2.17 per ounce or $35 per pound. It costs less than $2 per pound to make (yes that factors in rent, employees, etc. The COGS = total cost to make) This could be a great loss leader for them if they priced it at a price to good to pass up. read more

So you'll have a great time here as long as you're white, but if you're not, don't waste your time or money here. I would never return to this place. For the simple fact that our waiter completely ignored my friends and I from the moment we sat down. I'm talking about going out of his way to keep his back toward us. Attending to the tables around us, and even cleaning up tables around us, but not helping us. After sitting there for about 20 minutes, my friend got up to ask someone to help us. He seemed to be the manager. Manager dude gave us drinks and bread, took our order, and apologized for the lack of attention. You know who didn't apologize or even acknowledge? Yup, our racist ass waiter. What he did say was "I see *employee's name* (I don't remember it) got you guys started." Like yeah asshole.. not like you did anything. We were even waving at him and he turned in such a way like we couldn't tell he purposely changed the direction he was walking. Needless to say we Didn't see much of him at our table during our stay, but we saw he was very much present with everyone else. So much so, that I overheard a table telling him how he was so great. I'll just go ahead and make it very clear that we were the only 3 people who were not white in this area. We sat down and there were 3 tables occupied. Those tables cleared and there were 4 tables that were seated. We left after everyone. The clam chowder wasn't great and it was salty. I had better clam chowder at the airport. And I'm not saying that because of the experience I had. I mean it. The oysters were fresh, but in Seattle it would be a sin to serve bad seafood. So I can't give them any credit there. read more

We came looking for a seafood restaurant on the Lake Union and found the perfect place! We ordered the crab cakes which had the perfect amount of crab (and not the fillers). We also ordered Pacific cod and Pan seared salmon. We also came during happy hour and they have an extensive variety of appetizers/drinks/lunch items to choose from compared to most other happy hour seafood establishments. The food was enticing with the many deals; however, they had a long list of drinks that were discounted for happy hour. While my friend had a glass of white wine for about five bucks, I ordered a Not For Long Island Iced Tea cocktail, which was less than eight bucks and was heavy on the Ketel One vodka. Not too shabby. Service was great. Even though we didn't order any food, our server still provided us with free bread and butter. He checked in with us throughout our time here, and before we could see the bottom of the glass, he asked us if we wanted to order another before happy hour ended. This is a great place if you want waterfront views and locally-sourced seafood and a full bar. Stopped by Duke's yesterday after visiting MOHAI. The three adults got salads, and the two kids got chicken and fries (jojos). For $8, the kid's portions were very generous and came with choice of drink. My salad was the Black and Bleu Salmon, and I have to say it was fantastic - Probably one of the type five salads I've had in Seattle. Not overdressed, perfectly cooked blackened Salmon, blueberries, and candied pecans. My MIL ordered the Caesar and added chicken, and while she liked the salad, she said her chicken was too dry. My husband got the Spinach salad and added Salmon, and although his salad seemed quite a bit smaller than mine, he did like it. Without the bread, he would have still been hungry, though. The warm sourdough bread for the table was fantastic, and I loved that they source local ingredients and products for their restaurant, down to their soda. Prices for lunch were a bit on the high side for the adults (average of $29-34), but the quality was good so I wasn't too put off by that. Keagan was our server and he was excellent. Offered nice suggestions, was polite, and kept our glasses full. Very professional and on his game. All in all, a solid choice in the Lake Union area. read more

Basically I told them I wanted to try local favorites and they delivered, Even on the wine! I love fish tacos but never had rockfish. Taco was large flour tortillas that was "crispified" nicely, which is key because I usually prefer corn. The red chowder was a first for me, but it hit the spot. They also offered their sourdough bread and butter. I love sourdough and this was also delicious. I gave it a 4 of 5 because the taco had a bit too much sauce/ dressing(?) which made the tortilla soggy and my hands messy. The flavors were spot on though. I recommend! read more

I had a great dinner here and the food was pretty good! Service was great but we did have to wait 15 minutes for a table even though we already had a reservation. The staff did what they could to accommodate us. They do have a parking lot but unfortunately you have to pay to park (which seems odd for a restaurant). When I first saw the menu I was concerned that there was an upcharge because the restaurant was on the water. That, or this was a tourist trap (some real Times Square Bubba Gump vibes). But as the meal went on it was clear that while prices seem high, for the most part you get what you pay for. I'm sure you can get similar quality elsewhere for less, but in terms of the food and service presented during my visit, the tradeoff wasn't as horrid as I initially assumed. Coco Loco Prawns - Good crunch but a bit overdone. Dungeness Crab Dip - Tasty with a surprisingly generous amount of crab. Lobster Mobster Pernod Chowder - I had read a lot about Duke's chowder, and this one was quite good. There was lobster in every bite. I'd order this again. Dungeness Crab "Un"Cakes - Among the best crab cakes I've had in recent memory. They aren't joking about it having a lot of crab. Crispy, crabby, delicious.
