Dumplings were perfection ! The salt & pepper wings were recommended by the nicest lady behind the counter (I did not get a name) but they had plenty of flavor. & the veggie chow mein was also very good.

3.5/5 Small hole in the wall shop with some street parking in front of the store. My favorite was the shrimp torn noodle which had a good amount of shrimp and chewy noodles with a great sauce on it. The pork and cabbage noodles were also very good with texture and filling. The sheng jian bao was just okay (only four small buns with small filling.) The liang pi tasted kind of soggy and had a slight bitter taste and too much garlic so I would skip it.

Had high expectations due to high ratings but it was just okay. We came by for dinner and we were seated right away. It's so cold inside the restaurant btw. Service: 3/5 Only 3 tables inside but the waitress didn't really check in so my fiancé had to physically go up to her to ask for our check and then to pay. Food: 3/5 Wonton noodle soup - Not much flavor and the broth looked as clear as day which was our first time lol. Pretty sure they use handmade noodles here, which were also just okay. Shrimp torn noodle - Much more flavorful, tasted more like soy sauce? Not much noodles or shrimps and more veggies. Seafood dumplings with cuttlefish ink - This was just sad. No seafood but just 1-2 tiny pieces of shrimps with mostly green onions and chives.

Ordered off DoorDash because I was craving some good comfort Chinese food. Got some black squid dumplings, beef pancakes, and chicken chow mein. It was all very tasty and satisfying!

Hole in the wall but a hidden gem It's loud as they turn dough into noodles. They don't buy store bought noodles, these are made fresh The location mainly caters to take out, the interior is industrial sparse. It's loud. The folks who work there speak Chinese loudly on their speaker phones But it's so awesome and the food is great

Vegetable Knife Cut Noodle-too many bean sprouts, noodles weren't great when not really warm

I'd probably give 3.5 stars but will round up. The dumplings here are good, and there are some seafood and vegetarian options which is always nice. Scallion pancakes were crispy and oily and delicious. Green beans a bit overseasoned but cooked well. The knife cut noodles were ok, a little too oily and if not eaten hot straight from the kitchen they were t super good, and also there were not a lot of noodles in the vegetarian noodles, it was a lot of bean sprouts. This mostly looks like a to go place, server was friendly and attentive but the ambiance of the place is pretty stark, no music, lots of tables inside though. Steamed custard buns weren't super soft. So I'd recommend the dumplings here, and if you dine in it was fine for us because it was nice and quiet and we got to chat with our friends without feeling rushed, pretty much empty except for us on a Thursday night. Street parking was available nearby and not too hard to find just off El Camino.

This place is authentic and no frills. Stopped in here for lunch while waiting for some friends to arrive at SFO airport. When we walked in there was an older gentleman sitting at a table, hand making dumplings presumably for the evening dinner crowd. I enjoyed the pork dumplings with dill. The dill was not what I typically would have gravitated towards, but our server recommended it and I'm glad I took her advice. It was not an overpowering flavor and really complimented the pork. Pot stickers were hot, fresh and tasty as they should be.

This was our third visit in three years. The restaurant is small and we walked in just after noon. There were maybe four tables in use and one waiting to be cleared. We were greeted and pointed to a four-top. Menus and set-ups were already on the table. A pot of tea was brought out and the server went back to answering phones and wrapping dumplings. It took a minute to catch her eye when we were ready. We ordered three items and I let her 'talk' me into a fourth. Mom doesn't eat nearly as much when out but she'll tear it up at home. We ordered: Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Wings - 5 - Excellent again! Yes, a bit pricey but we'll worth it! Shrimp with Knife-Cut Noodles - 5 - I could smell the wok hay as she brought the dish to the table. The Shrimp were beautifully cooked as were the noodles. Soft and thin, similar to Egg Noodles. Delicious! Steamed BBQ Pork Buns - no score - We were between doctors appointments and our hour for lunch was coming to an end. We had only received 2 out of 4 dishes. I asked the server how much longer. Like a deer in headlights, she took a guess and went the wrong way. Instead of going to the kitchen and asking, she guesses 15 minutes? I asked if I could cancel it and she said no. I told her that we still had to leave so just box it up for us. She came back to the table with boxes for the food we already had and told us just another 2 or 3 minutes. When the check came, we were only charged for three items. The item that I had let her "talk me into" didn't show up. In case you're wondering, it was Xiao Long Bao. The food is generally very good. The service is questionable. I would recommend this restaurant for their food but not if you have time restrictions.

*They offer their handmade frozen dumplings to-go so you can cook it yourself at home whenever you'd like! Absolutely love it! *Catering options are also offered, both through UberEats and in-store Crispy tofu: crispy and not dry, but could be more moist; nicely flavored and not too spicy at all Hot & sour soup: super delicious (my absolute favorite hot & sour soup in the bay), medium spice, good amount of ingredients loaded into it so it's somewhat filling Szchuan spicy wontons: flavorful, tasty, thinly wrapped Garlic cucumber: Enjoyable, taste as expected Steamed bbq pork bun: Same as above Walnut shrimp w/honey & wasabi sauce: fresh, saucy, but I didn't love the wasabi sauce with it Sesame chicken: ordered a few times! Yum! Pork & cabbage dumplings: medium wrapped, consistent, and juicy

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for the rec, this little place is spot on! Delicious, fresh, authentic, I definitely recommend a stop in if you are craving dim sum or noodles. We have a stop over in San Francisco before heading on to our final travel destination and did a quick search for dim sum as we were leaving the airport. And after scrolling through about 20 reviews, we decided on this place. I love a good "hole in the wall", divey (if that's a word) and scratch made eatery. Ambiance is not a strong point if you are looking for mid to upper scale setting. But, if you can put appearances aside and listen to your stomach, then consider yourself home! This is a smallish shop, clean and with hot tea service (no alcohol). The service is fast, friendly and with a smile. There is a lady in the back, CRANKING out handmade wontons (be still my heart!) The portions are huge and family style! My daughter and I ordered enough for a six person family and judging from the look of surprise on the chef's face, we did a good job of polishing off most of it! ‍ One thing we tried that i had never heard of is the beef roll. It's really good and way bigger than i had thought. Kind of like a calzone. Highly recommend the spicy wonton and the knife cut noodles with shrimp. These knife cut noodles had such a luscious, silky mouth feel, i could have slurped them all day! We also enjoyed the fried spring rolls and shao mai. Price point is very reasonable. We had six different dishes for $64, which includes tax. Just about $10 per dish with huge servings. We have plenty of leftovers in our hotel fridge for later Anyway, jump out of your comfort zone and dive in to flavor town at Dumpling Era, you won't be disappointed!

My boyfriend enjoyed his Lanzhou beef noodles a lot, the beef was tender and the broth was incredibly flavorful and delicious. He liked the pork burger a lot as well, they did not skimp on the meat and the bun was fluffy! I would highly recommend this dish to anyone, it's a classic that is done well! I don't eat porridge often, usually when really under the weather so I'm fortunate to not gone to get some in a while. I called my pickup order since I didn't see an online option. The store front is Ichi Ramen so it's confusing in case you get lost in the busy plaza. I ordered shrimp, fish and plain porridge (congee) along with beef chow fun. 4 dishes total. Total came out to under $60 and it was a heavy bag! The porridge has a nice thick consistency without being runny. It had flavor to not need seasoning and surprisingly large portions of seafood. The chow fun was decent but I've definitely tasted better. Kinda pricy at $18 though the beef slices were big. I appreciated it wasn't as oily as other chow fun I've had so easy to eat without feeling kinda gross after. Solid value, good food, and worth a rec for porridge. All in all, I'd definitely return. 4.5 stars.

The friend Chinese donut was crispy and airy, slightly oily so fryer oil may have needed to be hotter and fry cook need to slow down and let oil temp recover. They do have outdoor seating, not that it would help much when the lunch crowd is huge. Since the store name emphasizes on Hainan chicken, i havent quite explored their other menu items. First time I had the Hainan chicken rice plate, another time I had the noodle version. Funnily I find their rice plate version smaller portioned than the noodle soup, however it's not a true Hainan chicken experience without having oil rice. Both dishes serve Hainan chicken with scallion oil marinade and roasted peanuts. While noodles have oyster mushroom and spinach, rice plate has pickled veggies. Overall it gets the craving settled, its not the greatest though. The noodle soup was an interesting option. It feels a bit like when youre making noodle soup at home and just tossed in random toppings. I had corn, spinach, oyster mushroom. Definitely not a combo I see commonly. The soup was not bad, its drinkable, not salt at all. However its a bit odd to pair it with Hainan chicken, perhaps better with fishcake or meat balls, I did see a meatballs version. They do have other noodle style and broths to choose from, such as hot and sour, laksa. They do offer fish paste noodle if you want a teeny tiny bit more protein. Overall food is okay. It's nothing to rave about, even though I love Hainan chicken.

Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. We ordered one appetizer and one noodle dish to share. The special mix salad came pretty quickly. We ordered "less spicy", and it had the perfect amount of heat. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the dish had a bit of everything we wanted to try. I liked the tofu skin the best, and my daughter loved the crunchy cucumber. It would be even better if they included lotus roots as well. It took a little while for the house special beef noodle soup (less spicy) to arrive, but it was totally worth the wait. It came piping hot. The broth was very flavorful, with the right amount of red pepper. It wasn't oily at all. The beef was super tender. Service was prompt and there was no wait. Theres parallel parking in front but its usually filled. Theres a lot behind the store and parking in the next street. The surrounded area is residential so you should be able to find a spot after some hunting.

But I'm not upset at all about this impromptu decision as we had a great meal here. Our table of 6 ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. the most notable items for me were the spicy wontons and fish in chili oil. The dishes were spicy but not so much so that you couldn't enjoy the actual flavors of the dish. For those that like the Szechuan tingling feeling, the chicken in explosive chilis was also quite good. We had also given the string beans, green onion pancake, and pork and shrimp dumplings a shot and all of them hit the spot. I'm usually a huge fan of braised beef noodle soup so decided to get that here too. It wasn't the same as if I had gotten this dish at a Taiwanese restaurant; compared to the strong flavors of the other dishes, this one was pretty mild. So it's something I would skip next time I come, but every other dish was on point. Our waitress was also great at taking care of us, bring out our food quickly and helping us to clear the other plates. Even after we finished our meal and overstayed our welcome by continuing to chat, the staff didn't make us feel rushed to leave.
