After reading the lastest reviews, I feel I need to come on and defend this amazing little sandwich shop! The staff are so friendly and always so happy to have a chat. The sandwiches are delicious! My personal favorite is the turkey club, have you tried their bacon on your sandwich?!? It's soooooo good. And their bread is so fresh! I haven't been here in years, but I used to go here after school everyday and I love love love this little shop! I don't like a lot of meat on my sandwich so the owner used to give me cheese for free instead of the meat. There are not many places nowadays that are really accommodating and work for their customers but DWs has always been amazing. The owner sold her shop to one of her best employees a long time ago and from what I have heard she has kept the same level of service and ambiance. Love DWs! read more

I love DW's Subs! Such a great local sandwich shop. I've tried most things on the menu and never been disappointed. Today I had a hot pastrami - classic style (pickles and mustard). All the sandwiches come on a fresh hoagie roll. The bread is fresh and soft and soaked up the pastrami juices perfectly! I brought a friend who never had a DW's before and he got the Pounder. He ate the whole thing! That's a mighty feat because my wife and I can't finish a whole Pounder between us! lol. Congrats DW's Subs on doing such a great job for our community!! This long standing family favorite never disappoints! My husband and I usually split the large pounder but today we each got our own, I got the Dagwood and he got the turkey sub. Popped in for a quick bite... DWS is located next to the States Bros, blink and you'll miss it. Large turkey sub, large drink, and a bag of chips for $11.37 They also have all types of syrups... it's like the manual version of those fancy coke dispensers machines at the movies... I have been going to DW's for over 20 yrs...First, discovered the place while I was in high school...now, I work 2 blocks away and visit as often as possible... I always get the Roast Beef Club..it comes with roast beef, lettuce, onion, mayo, bacon, avacado and of course my favorite, the italian dressing...I love it....I would love to buy bottles of the dressing and take it home... There garlic bread is also good, with the tomatoes and melted cheese... So no matter where I go I try my hardest to try a sandwich from that city. It takes me a while to find where I want to go because so many places have good reviews, and people have their favorites. This place was conveniently placed within a few minutes from my training place, and with great reviews like this I could not let it pass. When I arrived there the place itself was a bit underwhelming and it looked like nothing great. However do not let this fool you. The young lady that makes the sandwiches is extremely nice and puts a lot of love into making the food. I liked this place so much that I went twice! The first time I was there I got the foot long meatball sandwich. Boy was that a GREAT choice! The meatballs were extremely delicious and well made. The sandwich itself was nice and toasty! I got a drink and a bag of chips all for about 12 bucks! That price can not be beat! The second day I got the chicken salad melt. When I ordered it the lady behind the counter asked me if I had ever got their chicken salad. I told her that I had never done that. She then told me how they mad it, and what was in it. I expected the chicken salad to be pre-made but she made it right there on the spot! Again this sand which was great! I did not expect the quality of food from this place, but boy am I glad that I stopped in. If I ever again find myself in that general area I will definitely stop by and eat there again! read more

I love these sandwiches but not worth anyone dying for. Wear a mask, it's super easy and you would have got my business. The food is great and the service is excellent. I'm taking 3 stars away because they use NO PPE! Before COVID I would have reviewed 4, maybe 5 stars. But they wore no masks, no gloves and no sanitation. There was no access control so when I went in there where 11 people all within their small space, 2 of which were dining inside, and as of today was not permitted in Southern California. I know times are tough, and I do wish this business gets through and succeeds, but they should at least give there customers the impression they care about their health by wearing the proper PPE. Will not be returning until they adopt these measures. I also saw that they responded to another comment that they didn't have to wear gloves. Maybe that's true, but that doesn't mean you SHOULDN'T to put your customers at ease. As a small business owner, we need to support local small businesses, but they have to do the right thing to keep that support coming. Sorry, I'm long winded lol. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! Not only are the 5 girls working at the same time not wearing masks, But they are also unprofessional and very rude. They have attitudes and role their eyes. Why would I want to spend my hard working money on a place where I'm treated so badly. I will NEVER come back to this place! I've never been treated so poorly by little kids in my life. And they claim to not be wearing masks because they all have "underlying medical conditions" but in other reviews that's not the case. This place is a joke! I've lived in the area for years and I'm surprised to hear when other locals haven't heard about or been to DW's Subs. I love this gem of a sandwich shop. The food is consistently tasty, great quality, and the family that runs it is very friendly. I prefer eating at DW's compared to the other franchise sandwich shops because of the variety. You can't go wrong with what you order but the Bomber and Turkey Club are my favorites. I've used DW's for catering and everyone also comments on how delicious the sandwiches are. I have lived in Placentia almost my entire life and have never eaten here. A while back, some members on The Placentia Buzz page recommended this place to another member. For the past few days I have been craving a good, authentic Italian Sub. Went today, and I was not disappointed!!! Talk about fresh ingredients and bread! I ended up buying the 12 inch Bomber Sub. Price is to good to pass up. $6.89 for a 7 inch, $7.99 for the 12 inch. The italian dressing on the sandwich had just the right amount of zing to it. I will definitely be back for more!!!!
