I can only base my review from getting the Too Good To Go deal from this place. For the price of the Too Good To Go, it's worth it. Came out to like $5 for a bowl of congee and some dim sum treats or pastry variety. I like the xiao mai the best. It's super big and filling. I can definitely taste the MSG in it though and in the congee so there's a reason for it being "that tasty." Would I come here with the original prices without the deal? Mmmm... probably not. When they first opened, they were pretty good. The food quality was good, and the prices competitive. Having their freezer in the dining area is a little weird. However, in recent months, they raised their prices so much that it's more expensive than anywhere else. Their congee went from $5.25 to $10.95. Their green onion pancakes from $8 to $13.50. Those prices are a little outrageous for what you get. They'd need to reevaluate their pricing before I'd consider going back. read more

Too authentic-? for me or maybe I ordered mostly wrong dishes. I was super excited to hear about a new dim sum place but everything tasted like poor quality frozen food. The most disappointing $100 spent for 2 ppl and we left hungry....with leftovers we don't want to eat. ((I wish I wasn't part of the no-food-waste club bc I will at some point need to consume the leftovers from this meal...or maybe conveniently forget about it until it goes bad)). POSITIVES: * The stewed pork over rice was decent. Tiny portion and the egg was over-cooked/rubbery but I would eat this again if I had to. * There's parking. * Staff/service is attentive/quick. NEGATIVES: * All disposable packaging - I live a low-waste life and this meal really set me back on my waste limits. * $18 beef noodle soup was basically inedible ("meat" was intestine-like gristle and the broth had hints of miso and dish soap). * $8 Dumplings (both the XLB and wontons) tasted like poor quality, frozen dumplings - not knocking frozen bc they can be amazing, but these were not good and came in small portions, which was probably okay bc we didn't really want to eat more of it. * $13 Turnip cakes lacked texture (mushy) and was sprinkled with sugar. The sugar was unexpected and unfortunately unwelcome. Scrambled eggs were okay. Carrots (pickled in li hing mui?) were just awful - but I don't generally like mui seasoning so others might enjoy that. * Avocado smoothie tasted more like banana with a touch of onion, rather than avocado. The food is delicious, staff is friendly and efficient. The name may be misleading, I thought at first that it was an American style breakfast diner, it is not - it's closer to Asian Dim sum (did I spell that right? ). If you do show up for breakfast (they open at 9 most days) get the green onion pancake with eggs and ham - it's pretty amazing. read more

Stopped by for sons boba tea after dinner across the street, didn't expect much but it turn out this place offers much more than milk tea. They have Cantonese dim sum, Taiwanese style rice plates and lunch combo set aside from their milk tea menu. I tried the Strawberry Milk, not bad, boba has nice texture. The best word to describe it.. Disappointing. I decided to try them for dim sum, the place is tacky and the experience was kinda gross. They charge prices for food that sit down places charge, who actually give you service, also giving you plates and utensils worth using, the condiments at the tables are kinda gross and just scream "We don't give a sh!t". I think that is what the place tells you as soon as you walk in. "We don't give a sh!t" They look like they spent money and time with trying to create a nice place, but then they go and screw it up with doing tacky BS, putting the freezer in the dining area, along with stacking cardboard boxes of crap right next to where you are sitting. Seeing the bags of frozen dim sum was unappetizing when the gal went to retrieve more and I knew as soon as we were ordering that it was going to be our last time going there. The meat was over fried and was served dark, thin and too tough to chew. Tried this place via a Groupon that I had purchased. Was excited to try a lot of their menu items but to our disappointment there were quite a few items that were not available that night. Apparently they had just switched up their menu and was not prepared. I would actually rate this more of a 3.5 stars. First, it was disappointing that they were not prepared all the while having their new menu posted. Second, the portions for the price are kind of disappointing. Portions are quite small. Also a few dishes had no flavor to it and was kind of greasy. The beef chow fun was very oily and had no taste and too much bean sprouts. The wontons in hot sauce was not spicy at all but looked spicy. Our favorite was the beef scrambled egg rice bowl, garlic green beans and popcorn chicken. We also tried a few of their drinks and they were pretty good. Service was great. Super cute cafe current in soft opening mode. It still serves diy tea lab and is currently playing around with menu options if google photos is true. The congee was great and the pan fried buns were also amazing. The roasted duck was not as great and the rice rolls are basically just a huge sheet of fresh rice noodle. Would definitely go and just get congee, the bowl is huge, and some buns. Be prepared for a wait as the place was packed on Saturday afternoon. Early Bird Cafe is a family own restaurant with excellent service. A small clean and elegant cafe with tables nicely placed. They cooked everything to our order, no MSG & low salt. We ordered the Fish Congee, Turnip Cake, Braised Black Fish Fillet, Mixed Vegetable With Prawns, and Won Ton Soup. Food came out quickly, beautifully presented, hot, cooked just right and all delicious. My husband and I enjoyed all of them. We live in Bellevue, but it is worth the 5-mile drive. read more

Dim sum menu is solid - high quality ingredients and flavorful food. The har gow is probably my favorite in the area (skin is pretty thin and shrimp is huge). The staff are very friendly - definitely feels like a mom and pop place. I've had some operational issues with orders sometimes but have always been apologetic and addressed it. I traveled 40 min yesterday against traffic in the afternoon to pick up a TGTG order I had purchased from this place online. When I got there and showed the app and order on my phone to cashier, she looked blankly at me ...and then entire staff (4- 5 people came from back) walked to register , looked at me oddly and talked amongst themselves...ignoring me. It was awkward and weird - I proceeded to stand and wait for almost 10-15 min in front of the register. I noticed another person had also ordered a TGTG order and was waiting. After about 15 min elapsed, a woman finally approached us and said they had not used TGTG and could reimburse us (not possible as purchased through TGTG). After traveling better part of almost hour and then having to travel back the same amount time - this was a waste of my time for their incompetence. It was clearly a mistake on this company's fault - they must have "pushed" orders on to the TGTG site so that orders could be purchased (?). I would have respected some honesty and taking responsibility for owning up to the error. Also, it would have been good business/service to offer to cook SOMETHING to make up for their mistake and wasting customers' times. read more

I was excited for another dim sum option on the Eastside and really wanted to like this new place, but after 3 tries, each with just ok oily food and s-l-o-w service, I am ready to give confirm 3 stars. It's a tiny place, located in a strip mall, that took over for a previous boba shop, and IMO, it tries to be too many things (dim sum, Chinese stir fry dishes, and boba) vs one thing great. The dim sum has been pretty good (if you go, stick with dim sum), but my tries at other daily fare (i.e. Singapore noodles, beef chow fun, hot sour soup) were all pretty disappointing...and oily...or in the case of the hot sour soup, gloppy and tasteless (neither hot and spicy nor sour). read more
