I had early bird twice last month and both times, the food was delicious. I'll start with the "bad". The first time, we had it delivered, and by the time it got back to us - it was cold. The other part is, the hash browns were kind of flavorless. The hash holes on the other hand -- those are amazing. In fact I went back a different day just for those! They're warm and gooey on the inside and melt in your mouth. The Avocados Number left me wanting. The flavors just weren't all there, it tasted bland and because of the ricotta's texture -- dry. I can't remember which omelette my boyfriend got -- but it was really really really good. It is definitely worth going back and trying different things. We went to the Papillion location, and the inside of the restaurant was cute, but nothing impressive. I'm looking forward to going back, and checking out the midtown location! read more

I walked into the restaurant with my family and had to use the restroom. After I did I was met with a man who was in my way, I politely said "excuse me sir" he proceeded to look at me and scoff and roll his eyes and not move a muscle. And we never got a table. Another problem was that one of my family members had surgery recently and had a hard time standing, so they sat at the bar .the bartender then told them to get up because "they weren't ordering anything" when she was told that my family member had surgery she scoffed and rolled their eyes. read more

My friend and I have decided to make this place one of our regular spots! We love that we can join the waitlist via Yelp. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us all the time we needed to sit and chat after we finished eating. The vibe is nice! The decor is fresh and fun! WOW! One of the best breakfast experience that my taste buds have had in longtime...okay, maybe a couple of days...but you get the point. If you like having brunch as much as I do, then this place in Shadow Lake, Papillion is the spot for yah. This second location (other one is in Blackstone District) is now postured to fill in the gap for breakfast/brunch fans amidst the other restaurants in that area. I got the Cinnamon roll pancakes from the Jack's Stacks menu and added the combo option....Braised Bacon FTW! The contrasting saltiness of the bacon and the sweetness of the rolled pancakes was just pure awesomeness! The Chicken and Waffle was also good and came with pork sausage gravy. They do have a "*limited supply" note on this item...so I'm guessing its a fan favorite. The place has a great atmosphere with with very cool decor. Outdoor/patio seating is also available. We loved the food but not the noise. Mitigate the acoustics, and it's a winner! My husband enjoyed grilled cheese with tomato and bacon with Pib (in a can) as his beverage. I had The Hippy: "Over medium eggs and bacon on cinnamon raisin toast, with whipped maple cream cheese," and delicious coffee was my beverage. The coffee refills were a bit slow, but it was busy. All of this excellent food experience, however, was tainted as we could barely hold a conversation, due to the noise level. It was annoyingly loud and sadly put this otherwise first-choice breakfast spot last on our choice list. I would love to see that turnaround! read more

It was a good burrito, but it wasn't $17 good. Everything was good, the food was tasty, the service was on point, and the dining area was clean. Where things don't mesh are the prices. It was good, but on the average scale of good. The value just wasn't there. Just for me and my wife, with tip & sodas, lunch was nearly $100. Every time I visit Early Bird, the food and service is outstanding. It will always be a favorite place to dine!

We ordered the Monkey Business French toast, a chocolate chip pancake, and a side of hash browns. The French toast and pancake were both burned and very mediocre. The hash browns were quite flavorless but were cooked well. But if the food at a restaurant isn't better than we can make at home, there's no reason to go out to said restaurant. The drinks were also disappointing. Ordered something called Huntress Tea, which I was told was earl gray, but it seemed to be some sort of herbal tea with hot pink flowers in the teabag instead. The vanilla latte we ordered was burnt and we watched multiple servers/baristas use the espresso machine steamers without cleaning them after each use - thus resulting in layers of burned milk from the steamer stick being added to each espresso drink. At least we had good service. Our server at the bar was friendly and timely! The atmosphere is fine - open and airy but nothing unique. Overall, pretty disappointing experience and do not plan on returning. read more

I really like this place and will be back when visiting Omaha. Food was great. We ordered chicken and waffles, OG French toast, the early bird, Denver Scramble, Cinnamon roll pancakes, and pork belly. All tasted good. The chicken tender was good. The waffle was fluffy. The OG French toast was not soggy! It had a nice outer crunch and soft fluffy inside. Syrup was great. Denver scramble also was good. The eggs were not runny. The cinnamon roll pancakes were delicious. Maybe a little sweet though. Definitely recommend getting the side of pork belly! The service was ok. It was busy so I'll chalk it up to that. My boyfriend and I love coming here on Sundays. He likes the Denver scramble and I prefer the bird cage. The service is always pretty good, we usually have our drinks refilled quickly and food is fast! If there is a wait, it's not long. They know how to move fast here. As a bonus, the music that is played is always 10/10. read more

I tried this restaurant with my friend in December and had such a good experience with the service and the food. Our family has been here twice after that experience and the experience and food wasn't the best. Maybe it was due to being so busy since both times were on a weekend. I love this place! I've been several times and had a variety of different options from the breakfast tacos, chicken and waffles, French toast, and several others, and everything is worth getting. If you're going there for a healthy breakfast you might want to go somewhere else because while they do have a fair selection of healthy items, it's the less healthy things that make a return trip worth it. The food here has always been good, so there are no complaints there. The service is usually on par with my expectations, so, again, no major complaints. My primary complaint, and it's a big one for me, is the noise. The main seating area can get noisy, but it's manageable. The add-on patio is ridiculously loud. It was built with zero consideration for natural acoustics when the roll-up doors are closed. With seating for ~60-70 people, the natural reverb is painfully loud. To compound the issue, when it starts getting loud, people start talking louder to compensate, which just makes it worse. While my family and I really do enjoy the food, I am hesitant to return. I would suggest bringing in a professional and hanging baffles in the ceiling, at a minimum. read more

I visited this location with a large group of friends for brunch this past weekend. We called ahead of time to get in line virtually and were able to track our position on yelp which was very convenient that we could wait the 45 min-1 hour wait from home! The pork sausage gravy was perfect over the biscuits-it was delicious! First off, using Yelp's wait list option was a game changer! We put our name in early and we maybe had a 10min wait once we got to the restaurant. Early Bird's food will always be 5 stars in my book, but for Mother's Day brunch, our service was lacking compared to usual. I can definitely give some grace on a busy holiday, but our appetizer was delivered and we waited a good 5 min before having any silverware or plates to eat it. We had several items wrong/missing, drink refills were nonexistant, etc. However, the food was still very tasty and we had more than enough to take home! I met my family here for breakfast very early on a Tuesday, so I did not have to contend with it being busy. We were also in time for their happy hour, which includes selected discount drinks and food. I chose the Breakfast Nachos and loved them. The cheese sauce is...*chef's kiss.* My aunts got French Toast sticks, and my sister ordered the Hash Holes, but I didn't try those. Very affordable going off the happy hour menu! The menu is pretty large, so the choices can be overwhelming, but there are a number of items I want to come back for! I didn't try any drinks, just had water, so I can't comment on that, but their mimosas and coffee drinks looked good. Our server was polite, and we received our food very fast, but again, this was 7 a.m. on a Tuesday, so I don't know if the service would be quite as speedy and efficient on a busy weekend. Best in Omaha! We got the gravy birds, pancake flight and a corn beef hash. The gravy was some of the tastiest gravy I've ever had and we are from the south. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious but the cinnamons roll one was a clear winner and a must have. The hash was good. We'll cooked and crispy in the right places. I really enjoyed the coffee too.
