    Oil

Public Service Announcement Ladies... especially my fellow single moms... Here's a customer service experience I never expected. Earnhardt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - Gilbert 1521 E Drivers Way, Gilbert, AZ 85297 I took my Jeep in for a routine oil change. Immediately after, it leaked a significant amount of oil all over my garage and engine compartment. I immediately returned it to the dealership. Over the following days, I asked for answers, documentation, photos of the failed part, and an independent inspection. Here's what I got: No photos of the allegedly failed O-ring. The O-ring was discarded before I could have it independently inspected. My request for the vehicle to be towed to an independent mechanic was denied. My request for a one-year warranty to stand behind their conclusion that no engine damage occurred was denied. When I asked why they wouldn't provide a warranty, I was told, in substance: "We don't know if you're going to go home, drain all the oil out of your engine, destroy it, and then bring it back here trying to get a new engine." That statement stunned me. As a single mom, my vehicle isn't a luxury, it's how I get to work, show homes, provide for my daughter, and keep my family safe. I wasn't looking for a fight. I was looking for accountability. After my vehicle experienced a major oil leak immediately following a routine oil change, I came looking for accountability and peace of mind. Instead, I was treated as though I might intentionally sabotage my own vehicle. I do expect honesty, transparency, and respect. I walked into this dealership expecting to become a loyal customer. I walked away knowing I'll never return. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision before trusting this dealership with their car RESPONDING TO Luke My original comments regarding single mothers reflected how I felt during the interaction, not an accusation about your company's hiring practices. But refusing a 1year engine warranty because "I could go home, drain all the oil, and destroy my engine" is hard to understand when that's exactly what your team did to my engine!! If you're so confident this leak didn't cause damage to my engine, then warranty it. The fact that you're defending it without an ounce of care is gross. Regarding your comments about my behavior, I acknowledge I was frustrated. Finding oil covering my garage floor and my engine immediately after routine maintenance would upset most vehicle owners. My frustration was directed at the situation and to make matters worse, your Service Manager, Josh Utley, said they reason he wouldn't warranty it was be I could vandalized my own engine in an attempt to obtain a new one. Being treated as though I would intentionally damaged my own vehicle, after bringing it in for nothing more than a routine oil change, was both offensive and completely unacceptable. To date, my garage floor still has not been cleaned as promised. Jay Underwood, your General Manager, confirmed in writing that this would be taken care of, yet it remains unresolved. Still waiting for the call from the tech to come clean up the oil.... Combined with the unanswered questions and conflicting explanations throughout this process, this serves as evidence, in my experience, of your team's lack of competence and failure to deliver the level of customer service described in your response.

The 8 Jeep Wranglers I have owned over the last 26 years so this is not my first rodeo-not by a longshot.

Go elsewhere. I've owned 8 Wranglers over the past 26 years and my patience for this place has run out. If you value your time, do not come to this service department. I have never been out of this facility in less than a half an hour, even when pre-arranging a service visit the night prior or online. The Service Director or Manager Josh is condescending and does not take responsibility or make accommodations for the shortcomings of his department.

    Door panel popping out

I am extremely disappointed with how the Sales Department at Earnhardt Dodge in Gilbert handled what should have been a straightforward customer service issue. In 2022, we purchased a brand-new Dodge Charger from this dealership. During the detailing process before delivery, one of the dealership employees accidentally sliced open the dashboard on my brand-new car. Instead of replacing the damaged dashboard, it was repaired. At the time, the repair didn't look exactly the same, but the difference was minor enough that I accepted it and moved on. Fast forward to 2026, and the exact area they repaired has split back open--only now it looks much worse than it ever did before. On top of that, the trim on my door is popping out as well. In my opinion, neither of these issues should be considered "normal wear and tear" on a vehicle that was damaged by the dealership before I ever took ownership of it. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that our Service Advisor, Rick, went above and beyond for us. He did everything within his power to advocate on our behalf, fought to get this issue addressed, communicated with us professionally, and genuinely cared about making things right. Rick is the definition of excellent customer service, and he deserves recognition for his efforts because he did far more than anyone could have expected. Unfortunately, the Sales Department completely failed where Rick succeeded. Instead of standing behind their mistake and taking care of a loyal customer, they chose not to make things right. We have purchased MANY vehicles from this dealership over the years and have referred multiple friends and family members who also purchased vehicles here because of our recommendation. Loyalty apparently means very little when it comes time for the dealership to stand behind its own workmanship. It's incredibly disappointing that something the dealership caused before I even drove my new car off the lot has turned into an ongoing issue years later. This should have been handled properly from the beginning instead of patched together with a repair that ultimately failed. Customer loyalty is earned through accountability, not just making the sale. Sadly, the Sales Department showed us that once the paperwork is signed, standing behind their mistakes is no longer a priority. Thank you, Rick, for treating us with respect and fighting for us. You are the only reason this review isn't one star directed at everyone involved. Your professionalism and dedication deserve recognition, even if the Sales Department failed to do the right thing.

Service is slow and unresponsive. Had an appointment for oil change and fuel filter and it took most of the day. Was told it was ready so headed down and still had to wait.

I should not have to pay for repairs caused by Earnhardt CDJR repair shop. The compromise would cost me $480.00 for something they caused. Don't buy the BS Luke Morris is spewing here. They earned an overall 2.5 rating on Yelp and an F rating at BBB. Check it out.

Intake Process and Customer Handling Need Serious Attention…read more I scheduled a service appointment at AutoNation Chevrolet in Gilbert a week in advance, expecting a standard, professional intake process. Instead, when I arrived, my vehicle was never checked in, no service agreement was provided, and I was handed only a business card when I turned over my keys. It became clear later that my car had never been properly onboarded at all--my keys were not secured in lockup but were loosely accessible in the shop area. That alone was enough to raise concerns. After I reached out for clarification, another agent escalated the issue to a director, whose initial response was to suggest the oversight was somehow on my end. Only when I pushed back did he acknowledge the lapse. By that point, the interaction had shifted enough that I no longer felt comfortable leaving my vehicle there. I returned and took possession of my car. A formal agreement was offered only after I walked back in--something that should have been provided at the very beginning, not after the fact. I ultimately chose to walk away. For anyone considering service here, I strongly recommend confirming that your vehicle is properly checked in, documented, and secured before leaving it on-site.

The problems were completely outside of CarMax's control, but what really stood out was how they handled the situation. From start to finish, they made the entire process as stress-free as possible. TJ Schlake was my sales consultant, and Mustafa, one of the sales managers, were both outstanding to work with. Their first priority was trying to find me another vehicle that fit exactly what I was looking for. When we couldn't find the right replacement, there was no pressure or hassle. They honored their return policy, took the vehicle back without any issues, and refunded my down payment exactly as promised. Even though the first vehicle didn't work out, the customer service was exceptional, and that's what I'll remember most. They treated me with respect throughout the entire process and made what could have been a frustrating experience incredibly easy. My family has had another great experience with CarMax as well. We sold my son's car to them, and they offered significantly more than anyone else. The process was quick, straightforward, and transparent. They paid off the remaining loan and handed him a check for the difference before he left. Buying or selling a vehicle can be stressful, but the team at CarMax Gilbert made both experiences smooth and hassle-free. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again, and I highly recommend asking for TJ Schlake if you're shopping for a vehicle.

There was no back-and-forth negotiation, and the entire purchase process was remarkably streamlined compared to traditional dealerships. From start to finish, it took a little over an hour to complete the paperwork and drive off the lot. Llyah was excellent to work with and made the buying experience smooth and stress-free. After purchasing the vehicle, I took it to a local BMW dealership for an independent inspection. They identified a few concerns, including tread depth that was below acceptable standards on three of the four tires and an overdue cooling system flush. The BMW service department suggested I contact CarMax to see whether they would address the issues. A few days after reaching back out to CarMax, I was contacted by Alexandria from the service department. She explained that CarMax generally does not perform preventative maintenance based on age and instead follows mileage-based maintenance guidelines. Because the vehicle had not reached the mileage threshold for a cooling system flush, they declined to perform that service, even though it had been more than four years since the last one. However, CarMax did inspect the tires and ultimately determined that three of the four did not meet their sales standards. They replaced all three tires at no cost, including mounting and balancing. I was surprised they did not feel an alignment was necessary, as I've typically had one performed whenever new tires are installed, but I appreciated their willingness to correct the tire issue without any pushback. Another issue surfaced a few days after purchase when a sour odor began coming through the vents. While trying to locate the source, I discovered a decomposing rat in the vehicle. Combined with the tire situation, this left me with the impression that the pre-sale inspection may have been more cursory than thorough. Despite those concerns, I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the efficiency of the buying process, and CarMax's willingness to resolve significant quality issues after the sale. The customer service was excellent throughout. That said, their vehicle inspection and preparation process before putting cars on the lot could use some improvement. If those areas were addressed, this would easily be a five-star experience.

When we did finally get it all approved and paid for, Eddie tacks on an additional $3,000 to reassemble the engine after the repairs. Um what? That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Even the insurance adjuster had never heard of a separate $3k charge to put the car back together after repairs, but we already paid $5k so what choice did we have but to pay it? After another week, I finally get Eddie on the phone and he tells me he's now ordering the parts for repair. I said "you've had my car disassembled for a month. I was very leary of purchasing pre-owned as I have heard so many horror car buying stories of shady salesman, selling faulty vehicles and lacking clarity about the true vehicle condition, so I started my research. It took me close to a month of research, before I found a preowned dealership that still honored integrity. I knew the cars I was interested in and found my way to Goldie's. I was working with another dealership, as I had been pre-approved, but let me tell you what made the difference.. the service at Goldie's ! Through text and email, John, my sales-friend, (I call him) was so relatable and communicative. Walking in I have to admit is pretty cool, in the show room they had a old school IMMACULATE Corvette, a skew ball machine, and arcade games it felt unlike any other dealership I had walked in. The owners son greeted me and asked if I needed anything and to let him know if I did! He was the sweetest teenager. When they say Goldie's is a family business they really mean it ! I was working with John and let me tell you he was so transparent and honest it was like a breath of fresh air. I had considered other vehicles they had but he talked me through the maintenance cost, resale value and common mechanical issues each of the cars I had considered. Once I settled on a vehicle he was able to check for me the maintenance records as well as reviewed the carfax report with me. When I took the car for a test drive he told me to take my time get to know the car and make sure it was right for me. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was having a horrible time in dealing with the insurance payout of my previous vehicle and John was very empathetic in understanding my situation. He had set expectations before I came that with the insurance payout being delayed I may not be able to take the vehicle the vehicle home. I was thrilled with the no pressure atmosphere, and just came to take a look at the vehicle in person, with zero expectation to buy. John and his manager worked magic. I did in fact decide to purchase my vehicle and was able to take it home, there is a small cosmetic issue that I requested to have repaired and he called immediately and got the approval to get it taken care of. I'll be returning later this week to have that completed. I'll keep you guys posted after the service appointment. I had a great experience and I feel I got a good deal on my vehicle and, I felt like my business was valued, my concerns were heard and they've made a lifelong customer out of me ! The only thing I questioned was a "requirement " to provide three "references" of friends and family members, despite paying cash. This seemed a clear attempt to get personal contact information on uninvolved people, probably to approach them with our recommendation. Not cool. The rest of the process was quite straightforward aside from signing all the documents levied by the legal profession. Nice showroom and lounge; clean bathrooms and genuinely friendly staff. Eric Collins was our sales rep and he deserved the Salesman of the year award he received last year. Be sure to ask for him for a low-pressure, no-hassle experience.

When we brought this to their attention minutes after we left the lot, they told us they would "make it right." We brought the vehicle in twice for them to repair the windshield. During the second repair attempt, the windshield cracked further from the repair attempt while the vehicle was in their possession, and now the cracks are spreading to other areas. Despite this, they refused to replace the windshield and told us we should go through our insurance or pay them almost $1000 to replace it. We have purchased two vehicles from this dealership in the past, but after this experience we will not be returning. We are also planning to cancel the warranty since we no longer feel comfortable using their service center.
