If there is one thing I cannot do in life, it is being in the near vicinity of a cock roach. Even typing the words sends chills down my spine. I don't know where, as a child, the cock roach hurt me, but one did. You can imagine how desperate I was when I started seeing some in my house. Big ones. and Baby ones. It was bad news. The first place I called said it would be a MONTH for them to come out. A MONTH. By then, these critters would be squatting in my house and I would have self evicted. I found Earth First Pest Control and they were able to come out in a couple days. Did it all through Yelp Messenger, it was super easy. The tech came, put me at ease that I wasn't int he middle of a hostile invasion, sprayed and that was that. But a week later I was still seeing baby roaches. So I reached out through Yelp again, and the tech called me and came out the next day and resprayed and we haven't had an issues since. My apartment complex has a MAJOR cockroach problem and it was becoming unbearable -- EVERY drain in the apartment was covered and many "eco" products were purchased to limit the roaches coming into the apartment. Some products found an Amazon worked for a while, and a lot of eco products had a very strong scent that was just too much for my roommate and myself. The "eco friendly" extermination company the apartment complex uses is terrible and roaches always come out a day or two after they come. I decided to go with another company and found this online. The technicians were pretty communicative and knowledgeable about general products used for roaches and other bugs. It was also super easy to schedule an appointment. I first used them in late July and had some maintenance checks, I haven't seen any roaches and the products they use don't leave a sticky or smelly (oils are strong) residue like the other products I've purchased. I also don't have to worry about covering the drains as much! The price was worth it. Currently moving and now that the furniture is out of the way, there's still no trace of roaches. These guys are really nice, which more than I can say for some other places I contacted. However, I really wanted their spray to work on our spider issue, black widow that is. It simply did not. With pets and kids around, we wanted to be earth friendly, but their spray was not strong enough. We had to call them back after the spiders reappeared after 2 weeks, which they were happy to do free of charge. However, this second treatment did not take care of the problem. Perhaps if you have a more minor issues, these guys are good, but getting rid of pests for good did not happen for us unfortunately. read more

This company was highly recommended by a friend. I was hoping to find a more eco friendly remedy to the termite situation. I do appreciate they were able to set up an appointment to inspect 3 units in our 5 unit complex in relatively short notice. Nate was professional and courteous. However it was not an "inspection" as we basically showed him the areas we knew were a problem and that was it. We had wanted a look around by a professional to see the status of our infestation, see what was not obvious. That was not the case. I have called and emailed since the appointment and have had no response. Sorry to say this is not acceptable and I am disappointed. I really wanted to believe their method and had high hopes. We gave it a solid week to see if the little guys would stop coming, but they still kept creeping in. Called them back to complain and they came back to put glue traps with peanut butter. A week and half later, the little guys are still creeping in. EARTH FIRST PEST CONTROL???. MORE LIKE EARTH WORST PEST CONTROL... okay. maybe that's hyperbole. After SUCH glowing reviews from Yelp, I called and reached out through Yelp to have someone take care of the ant problem I was having. They made the appointment by EMAIL. OK, fine, whatever, it's cool to email me, I'm hip, right?... Then they came out and serviced my house. They sprayed around the exterior and interior. At $245, the price seemed high, but I have animals and didn't want anything toxic, and hey... save the bees, right?... so I thought it was par for the environmental course. Everything went as expected but there was no super duper glowing review so I didn't write one. And two weeks later (no joke) the ants came back. OK. The warranty is 30 days so I call and email. I get an EMAIL back, scheduling me for two days later. TWO DAYS!?!!! In the two days, the ants had an event, brought more friends, set up some sunshade, had a tailgate, did a cookout, AND LEFT. By the time the appointment came, the only thing left were the drunk stragglers the other ants had abandoned. But fine, the person will spray them and maybe they will make it back to the nest to kill their traitorous family. The appt was a 30 minute window. At 10 past the 30 minute window, I'm emailing and calling... where is the tech!? Here's where things get weird. Twenty minutes later, I get an EMAIL back saying the tech's car broke down and he can't make it. An email!? AN EMMA EFFING EMAIL!??? Not a text, but an EMAILLLLLLLLL!????? ON THE OFF CHANCE I HAPPEN TO BE LIVING BY MY COMPUTER (which I am, but that's besides the point), YOU SEND ME AN EMAIL!??????? Now, maybe it's just me. I will admit, I'm a GEN Xer and I'm not exactly hip to all the things of this new generation. But, if someone is waiting by the door for someone else, and that person is not coming, and you happen to be the business employing said person, ISN'T IT CUSTOMARY TO CALLLLLLLL!???? I mean, isn't that the most IMMEDIATE form of communication!??? At the VERY least, TEXT!????? BUT EMAIL!?????? ARE YOU EMMA EFFA KIDDING ME!???? LIKE FOR REAL!? REALLY THOUGH!?? AN EMAIL? In the NEXT email she sends (yes, still not calling, still sending more emails), she says the technician TRIED calling me (she really did not get the irony), but couldn't reach me. Now, even though I was born yesterday, I AM a quick study. Being a quick study, I can say with plausible certainty that is not true. Cause the next best thing to talking to someone on the phone is leaving someone a voicemail, which of course never happened. Now, they did reach out to me to solve the problem (via email). And they did make the next appointment which they set up. And they did spray again and take care of the stragglers. And though my entire morning was wasted and I had to rejigger my day, I do realize shitty things happen. That's life. And that's understandable. But SHOW ME I'm important to you. SHOW ME you care. SHOW ME I'm not some 2 dollar whore you picked up in the back alley of skid row. Have the courtesy to CALL ME when something goes wrong so I can know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE things need to change. Don't effing EMAIL me when who even knows if I'll get it or if it'll go to SPAM. Hell, that's the shit you do to people you hate... like you're boss, or you're mother in law. I had an ant problem in my home that I rent since I moved in back in September. It got out of control jan/feb so I called this company since im extremely chemical sensitive and have a dog and 3 cats and don't want to expose them to toxic spray. They were so friendly and got someone out here the next day. She sprayed inside and outside and left bait under my house. The problem was gone instantaneously and I haven't had a problem since, and now it's July. Another plus is that since what they use is non toxic, my animals and I didn't have to stay out of the house for it to air out like a regular exterminator. I contacted Earth First by sending a message through yelp. Marlon contacted me right away and we agreed on an appointment time. They were so excited to work with me they actually came a day early, when I wasn't at home. They rescheduled to the time when I was home. Leo arrived for our appointment and I explained my concerns. I had not seen any pests or heard anything; however, my dog was showing interest in two spots in our house. One area was between the bedroom and bathroom and the other area was near the fireplace. I thought she might be hearing insects in the walls. Also, some of my neighbors have been having issues with ants, cockroaches, and termites. Leo inspected the areas I mentioned and went under the house to inspect further. He explained what he observed. It turns out, we have no problem with pests that needed treatment. I was very impressed with both Leo and Marlon. They were honest and we had great communication. I know I will be calling Earth First for any future pest control needs. A+ read more

Earth First Pest Control seems to have great customer service, multiple options on how often them come out, smells great when they leave lol, safe for my dogs, and so on. I also have been working with the same person the last three times I've had service. I'm not sure if this is standard or will continue to happen in the future, but I do like having the same person. She is always on time (often she has arrived to my house early and waited for me to put away the dogs and open the back yard, but in the meantime sprayed the front of my house - I like that kind of forward thinking), and knows the little problem spots around my house. Hopefully we keep getting the same person. All in all, I don't know what I would change about them so I guess that deserves 5 stars. read more

I try my hardest to live in harmony with nature. I don't swat at moths or stomp on spiders, and I didn't freak out when I saw a cockroach scurry away when I turned on the light in the kitchen one night. I didn't freak out when I kept finding dead cockroaches in my garbage or my closet. I did, however, freak out when a cockroach just chilled on my dining room ceiling with zero intention of leaving. I was unnerved, so I called Earth First. An exterminator came out and explained that it wasn't because I was messy, it's because the drought is forcing cockroaches into houses to look for water. He sprayed a pleasant smelling pet-safe herbal concoction inside and outside my house, and told me if I didn't see an improvement in a month, he'd come back and spray again. It's been eight months, and since he's sprayed, I've only seen two dead cockroaches. My favorite part about the spray is that it discourages other cockroaches from moving in, so at least in my case, there hasn't been a need to re-spray since. Money well spent! They're smart, eco-friendly, and effective. When I can comfortably share my space with insects, I do, but when I can't, I'll definitely be calling these guys. read more

Second time using their service, and absolutely happy. First, they came for a very bad ant infestation with both argentine and pharaoh ants. They came and sprayed our kitchen and around the whole house an organic product that actually smelled very nice... voilá! problem solved. Second time, it was rats in our attic. We searched for different options and again, they were the best out of 4 candidates, not only for the price (they were not the cheapest we got, I have to say) but for the whole extermination plan. We called, they answered promptly and came. They got into out attic and instead of giving us a terrifying scenario where our attic was a war zone and needed a 4K+ treatment as some providers said, they were very honest, took pictures and videos and showed us our problem. They put traps inside the attic and under the house and blocked all the accesses with screens. Rats were nowhere to be found the next day and the day after we heard them trying to get in but left and haven't been back since. Marlon just came over to check on the traps and showed us pictures again. Needless to say, although we hope we never, ever need them again, if that is the case we will call them again. read more

So strange because we had such a wonderful experience last year with an ant problem with these guys. Called and came same day and our problem was fixed and lasted a whole year. This year, they came and after the left we still noticed a lot of ants so we called them back twice to ask them to come out once more and we did not receive a return call. They have a guarantee on the receipt that was given to us but did not respond when we called to ask to fulfill that guarantee. I'm just so surprised. We used Earth First back in August after a stray rat decided to make its way into our house and take up residence in my home office. I wanted something safe and organic because we have four dogs and I HATE PESTICIDES. I left a message, they got back to me right away and were at our house within a couple of days setting traps. We also had a horrible flea problem this summer (huge yard, lots of wild animals visit), and they sprayed the yard, as well. We got the quarterly package, so will have return visits throughout the year. They have been great! Accommodating, nice...would highly recommend. read more

Wanted to like them, but sadly I can't recommend. Customer service wise they were friendly and responsive. But overall effectiveness was shortlived to nil. Plus their exterminators don't pay attention/aren't very observant. I had them come out and mentioned problem areas i.e., areas where giant obvious lines of ants were streaming from. First time out they sprayed but for whatever reasons missed those giant glaring areas that had pointed out. Odd, considering they sprayed a foot to the left and a foot to the right of it, but not where they were actually either coming from or going to. Thankfully they have a warranty so I called them again, and they were totally ok with respraying. Again I pointed out the trouble spots. They nailed a couple of them but again missed the biggest one. While the ant problem on the inside seemed to be taken care of, the outside spots,where ants were clearly going under our home, never ceased activity. Cut to now, 3 months later (and one month past warranty), our house is teaming with ants again. So you may want to go with another service read more

I started spotting More and more spiders and those slithery things with pincher (Ear wigs) in my 5 month olds bedroom and around the house . I wasn't sure in who to call . So i turned to Yelp, which i havent been used to doing .I knew I didn't want any harsh pesticides in my daughter bedroom, or around my two small dogs . So I decided to go with a more Eco friendly approach ... And found Earth First Pest Control. When I couldn't take the spiders anymore I called them, and was able to get them to come out the very next day . Last year they had decent service. This year called and immediately had a text and a date for new service less than 2 weeks ago. 4 days after latest service, had a massive ant attack. I've now called 3 x texted 5x and now writing 1 star review. They cost way too expensive for very bad service. I'd look to another. read more
