Come for the breakfast. The breakfast bowl was really good. Flavorful, lots going on but everything complimentary. I ordered a side of toast and did not get the jam. $2 for 1 slice of bread with butter seemed a bit steep. I guess the homemade jam is what makes it so expensive but I don't eat jam. The bread was grilled and it was tasty. My friend enjoyed the breakfast sandwich on the homemade brioche. I went back the next day to pick up some baked goods as we were staying about a three minute walk away. I was sad that I was disappointed by them. The blueberry muffin was very good and moist. Food - The loaded fries were new to this location and they were great however they do make the rest of the fries soggy. As well, the lavender lemonade was delicious, the perfect balance between sweet and sour. The plain waffle fries in general are amazing. After a long day of work, we visited Easy Tiger for a celebratory piece of pie BEFORE dinner! We were hoping to try more of their famous pastries, like their strawberry sumac croissant and fruit tarts, but apparently it had been a hard day all around Austin and they had a run on desserts just before we arrived. We ordered the vegan carrot cake, the pain de chocolat and their perfect chocolate pie, coffees and tea, and went outside to the 'courtyard' seating area to eat. Everything was delicious! Carrot cake was moist and spicy; pain du chocolat was flaky on the outside and filled with a rich dark chocolate inside, and the chocolate pie was just plain decadent, smothered in a toasted meringue. Awesome! Easy Tiger is a huge place with indoor and outdoor seating, lots of parking, a full menu, full bar, souvenirs in the bakery shop, and friendly staff. A mainstay in Austin, despite the growing population and prices of real estate. The worst thing about Easy Tiger is how expensive the menu can be. Although, if you get there between 3 & 6 you'll have a selection of happy hour items (beer, cocktails, cocktails, and bites). You can guess that the bakery items are worth it, the baguette is VERY good and pairs well with their whipped butter. In fact, most of their spreads are delicious - whipped salted butter, grain mustard, and of course the beer cheese. Good spot to hang for beers and munchies. I have been a long time supporter of Easy Tiger, and love their food and baked goods. But this is now the 3rd time that we have gone to have food and a fun afternoon there, but we're left to our own after given a table. 15min passed after being given our menu to order, and no one came to get drinks or check on us. And again this had happened two other times but we decided to wait it out because we love the food.... But after this I just couldn't sit there any more. Their staff made eye contact with us, restocked napkins and cutlery at the tables directly attacked to ours... not our own even though we needed them too, and still did not check on us to place an order. So we decided to leave after politely returning our menus to the bar. I hate to say it, but that's the last time I will return, I will still buy there bread and baked goods.... The bread is what catapulted them to fame, and for good reason! I feel the menu has been evolving (in a good way), and it has always been tasty. Recently stopped by during Happy Hour, enjoyed the celebrated pretzel. Holy smoke it's huge, it covered most of the tray. It was accompanied with 3 dipping sauces. Service was slow: 15 mins to get service after we sat, +15 mins to get beers we ordered; +15 mins and half our food came, +25 mins rest of our food came. It was pretty easy to grab a table since we were hanging out about 75 minutes from closing time so we all just opted for one drink and share a pretzel to not be that table. Now it was super fitting we were sat right in front of the pretzel, beer, and [easy] tiger painting. Take a look to get lost into the details as you'll discover more and more within the painting. The pretzel was bomb and so fluffy. I honestly love when it's topped off with an ample amount of salt flakes but not to the point where you need a pitcher of water. Found it pretty neat you can purchase all your baked goods and this bakery seems to be pretty damn popular. We love Easy Tiger. We've eaten there at least 20 times. But tonight at 9pm we walked over there to eat after checking the website, which says they close at 10pm. We got there at 9:10 and strangely the sign on the door says they close at 10:30pm. Even better! We get to the bar to order but the girl says the kitchen closes at 9pm because she says they close an hour earlier than the closing time. None of this adds up. Nowhere online or on their door does it say the kitchen closes at 9pm. This is a restaurant, so what do they do for an hour or an hour and half after the kitchen closes? Deceiving your customers is a good way to convince them not to come back. This is bad business and I don't think I'll go back. Hopefully they can figure out how to align their messaging so that people know when they can go there to eat their otherwise excellent food. read more

Been going to Easy Tiger for several years mostly with my running group. We went for Brunch today. Apparently, large group had reserved half of the restaurant. We sat in the garden across the street. Even though it was not very crowded, staff seemed confused and disorganized. Pastry items sold out. They tried to be helpful but we had to get up to get a lot our stuff. You enter Easy Tiger into a shop area that is quite pretty -- airy with high ceilings -- and filled with oh so many interesting items for sale: olive wood cheese trays and spoons, Texas Olive Oil products, a black matte moka pot, teas (I Love It!), candies, honey, chocolates, and of course their bakery delights. You can shop here and order take out (or pick up, if you've pre-ordered). If you want to eat in, continue into the bar in the next room where you can place your order. Currently, there is a combo of table service; that is, you order your meal and drinks at the bar and a server delivers the food to your table. This system causes a line of folks waiting to order, even though we were not there at peak lunch time. There menu doesn't contain a huge selection of non-meat items, but the Beyond Bratwurst looked tasty. When it was delivered to my table a little bit later, I knew I'd made the right choice. A grilled Beyond Beef bratwurst on a toasted, house made bun topped with mustard and sauerkraut. Yummy. And it came with the side of waffle cut fries. I wish the person taking my order had been more attentive, as I requested a printed receipt (I know, old school!) but my request was ignored. As long as I'm wishing, I also wish there was more parking. The parking spaces are so small it's hard to exit your car once you found a place. I came to easy tiger on a Thursday evening for a happy hour with my coworkers. It seemed really cool online and looked like it had a lot of space to sit down and spread out so I thought it would be good for a larger group. When I arrived, I found that all of the indoor tables were already taken, except for one which was dirty/covered in the prior group's trash. I went to the bar to ask them to clear it when possible, and by the time I turned around, a family walked in behind me and sat at the dirty table so that one became unavailable. I sat outside at the open long tables for a few minutes, but near immediately started to perspire and realized that I was not gonna be able to stay out there for long because summer in Austin heat. I went inside and I asked one of the workers at the bar who I think was a manager about if he knew whether any tables may become available; I think he didn't understand my question at first, and then afterwards, he said he " couldn't make anybody leave" with a bit of a tone that made me feel like he thought I was a little bit entitled. I tried to explain that I was just asking because I wanted to know for the sake of planning, but it was a little bit offputting. Aside from that though, the service was fine - our server didn't come round very frequently around to our table and it took a while for him to clear out the dirty table that I did eventually sit down at. But that said, it was a VERY busy evening, there weren't many servers (like maybe two, three tops going around) and I don't think it would be fair to hold that against the workers since there were few of them and they were clearly working really hard. Overall, the drinks were good, I really appreciate the five dollar happy hour pricing on their select happy hour menu. I got an aperol spritz and several beers for the table which were all pretty good, my friend got lavender lemonade which was also very refreshing and my other friend got a margarita, which was good. We ordered a couple of giant pretzels - the beer cheese and the mustard were very good. we also ordered the loaded sweet potato fries which were a LOT, but were pretty tasty overall (it was just a lot of carbs). We did also get one of their homemade baguettes, which comes with some really tasty jam and cheese, that was definitely a winner! It sounds like you can buy their bread directly at stores (eg HEB) or at easy tiger's locations, and it's really popular - I can see why. The bathrooms were clean here, and there was ample parking, although not a whole lot of shade so just be mindful of that. It's an easy place to find, and if you're OK with sitting outside despite the temperature, there is plenty of room at the outdoor benches/tables so it could be a really good place to hang out with larger groups. I would recommend making a reservation in advance if you want to sit inside; I didn't since I didn't have an exact head count and didn't want to overbook but that would be much faster/easier if possible. Overall, I would definitely come back here for another group event, but I wouldn't seek it out on my own because there are other places that I've had slightly better/faster experiences with. That said, as I mentioned the food and drinks were good and the workers were working really hard, which I do respect and appreciate! Easy Tiger was doing a bottomless mimosa deal for $10/person, so we had to check it out! We arrived around 11 am and were seated at an outdoor table on the upstairs patio without a wait. There were some fans out there, so it wasn't too hot. All 9 of us wanted to get the bottomless mimosas, so our server brought out a couple bottles of champagne and cups along with small cups of juice. We should have known they were unprepared for the popularity of this special when they said they had already run out of ice buckets for the champagne before we arrived. Our server completely disappeared for 20 minutes at a time, so we were struggling to get more bottles and juice throughout the brunch. They ended up completely running out of champagne around 12:30, which was only 2.5 hours into the event (which was supposed to go on until 2 pm). Although we only paid $10 each, it was still super disappointing and I don't feel like any of us drank nearly as many mimosas as we normally would have for a bottomless deal. As for the food, we ordered waffle fries for the table to share and I got a breakfast bowl with bacon. I thought the fries and the bowl were both pretty good, and I especially enjoyed the crispy potatoes in the breakfast bowl with the chimichurri sauce. One of my friends doesn't eat pork, and she was super disappointed that the only protein options for her sandwich were bacon or breakfast sausage (which also contains pork). The biggest issue we had was that one of my friend's food never arrived. She ordered the quiche slice at the beginning of our meal, and the server kindly informed her that the quiche had just come out of the oven and would be a few extra minutes. My friend said that was fine, but 30 minutes after everyone else's food had arrived, the quiche was still not there. When we asked the server about it, she said it would be a little longer. We waited and waited, and about an hour into our meal the server came back and said actually they never made the quiche so she would have to order something else. Obviously that was super disappointing for my friend, and she had to wait even longer to get something to eat. Even worse, they still charged her for her meal after she waited about 2 hours to get any food. Overall, I had mixed feelings about our meal here. Obviously, since Easy Tiger doesn't normally have bottomless mimosas, they were extremely unprepared for the demand both in terms of service and champagne. I think it's fair to cut them some slack there, however, waiting 2 hours for food due to a communication issue with the kitchen and then still having to pay for it is ridiculous and frustrating. read more

Okay so, I ran across this post of super cute bars in Austin. Well of course I had too try them ALL. Starting with Easy Tiger. Location: upon arrival it looks like an outdoor situation but once you park your car around the back you slowly realize it's a indoor/outdoor vibe. Areas have great coverage from the sun & I love that they have fans as well as Heaters on the ceiling! Food: The Food was Fan-Freaking-Tastic. I won't lie first glance at the menu I was ehh. Nevertheless I asked my waiter chandler what should I order he made wonderful recommendations. The pretzel 10/10: crispy outside pillowy soft inside The Cajun Chicken Sausage 10/10: that prefect snap you want from any sausage casing and the home made Chow-Chow was the prefect topping. The breakfast potatoes 10/10 : It was like the par-boiled the pots then fried them Brussels sprouts 8/10 : Great flavor just wanted them a little more tender Our cocktails 8/10 We order 3 different kinds all three were just okay. The beer at here was pretty good. I liked the heavenly haze and my friend got the pog-slammer. Haze was a IPA similar to electric jellyfish from pint house. Pog had very citrus-y flavors which I liked. I also got the pretzel which was decently sized. The dips were good for the pretzel. The bad part... the service. We ordered three beers the first time around, which took around 15 minutes to arrive. The beers weren't really cold at this point. I am not sure how that would be possible but I expect it to be the waiting staff seemingly lounging around talking to each other doing nothing. We asked for the waitress and it took an additional 10 minutes for her to arrive. We then ordered more food and drinks which took additionally extremely long amounts of time. The kicker was that there were two other seated tables so the place was basically empty. I really enjoyed the atmosphere! My fiancé and his dad enjoyed the beers here, while his mom and I happily sipped our latte. All great. We all shared a sourdough bread and wow it tasted so fresh and tasty! It was as if it was freshly baked (which I believe that's what they advertised) and it was more than enough to take home to enjoy for breakfast the next day. We also all shared the sausage sampler with the sauces that go with each sausage which I LOVED. Each of them had their own taste and they did an excellent job pairing them with the appropriate sauce. Easy Tiger is a pretty popular spot to come up when planning a trip to Austin, so we decided to see what all the hype was about! We visited as soon as we got to town, so we got a bit of a sampler lunch. The server informed us that their bakery was down so anything with their bread was off the menu for the day. This was a particular bummer because that also meant to pretzels which I'd heard a lot about! Regardless, we find some great bread-free options. We settled on the kale salad, sausage platter, chicken schnitzel tenders, fries. The fried were amazing-- waffle cut and so crispy!! I am not a huge kale gal, but the kale salad was also amazing and made me feel better about the fries! The sausage platter is a fun way to sample a few things, but the server dropped a couple pieces of the brat when bringing our platter and didn't acknowledge it or offer to replace them which was a bit awkward and disappointing (why I deducted a star). Overall, the brat was the least exciting option on the board so we just enjoyed the rest, but it wasn't ideal. We also got a pitcher of one of their Austin pale ales which was a great light lunch pairing! Their beer menu is pretty expansive with both local and classic/safe options.
