As a sourdough baker I have heard this place owns the Austin market when it comes to real sourdough. The hurry is still out. I've purchased a couple loaves and will update on another post. Pretty mediocre food not going to lie. Seeing how tiny some of my friends sandwiches were was really disappointing for the price they paid. Even the side of fries was $4 for 7 friends. I haven't visited after work which tends to be more lively. Overall pleasant experience and menu prices are reasonable. Both the first and second floor are open air, at least right now. The place is more dog than kid friendly. Masks are required, and the bathrooms are all gender. I would describe it as an upscale coffee shop. A lot of people are working on their laptops fir extended periods of time. This is different from the previous Red's Porch which was more of a noisy restaurant playing football games on the big screens and serving brunch to huge crowds. The Toast app wasn't working for me to order because there were ads covering the add to cart button, and I apparently had a previous account, which messed things up. The iPads were also down, so they rang me up at the window. I felt like a Luddite. The menu at this time is pretty limited for breakfast: egg sandwich, scone, chocolate croissant, or blueberry muffin. They have coffee and a few drinks as well. (The pretzels aren't available until later in the day. And there are a lot of $15 sandwiches.) I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and it was expensive but delicious! Service is terrible. I tried to place an order through their online app three days ago and called to say that it was down. After being told it was fixed, I attempted to order online again. It still didn't work. Then I called back again and asked if I could place an order over the phone and was told "I'm kind of busy". Today I placed an order for delivery which on their site says is free over $25. I included my apartment number through their online ordering app, but it fell off, I'm assuming to the functionality of their platform. I get a text asking for my apartment number and three minutes later provide that information. I texted the number back after a few minutes because I didn't have an update, and the food hadn't arrived. I was told the food was returned, and I needed to contact DoorDash for a refund. Was I going to be notified had I not reached out? I didn't place the order through DoorDash, so what do i do? Send them a screenshot of my order with easy tiger for reimbursement? Now I'm out $30 because I didn't place the order with DoorDash and it was entered by easy tiger. The money went to Easy Tiger, so why would DoorDash refund me?? Why would I be responsible to call them to get a refund? The right thing to do would be for easy tiger to refund me for the delivery that they said they weren't going to charge and the food and drink that I ordered. It's too bad because I live across the street and I love Easy Tiger. But the South Lamar location has terrible service. read more

From Lamar you can see the sign but not the cool restaurant, so take time to drive down the entrance road to the back, where there's a lot of parking and a pretty view. The bakery here is terrific and you can buy goods to go. The menu includes non-meat options which I think is a relatively new development - the salads are delish as is the coffee. Popped in to grab a coffee and pastry around 830a on Wednesday The place was pretty empty which seems weird for a coffee/pastry place But I think I found out why... When I went to order a latte the person behind the counter said the espresso machine was broken. I get it, things break sometimes. So I opted for a regular drip coffee. My partner who also wanted a latte asked for a decaf drip. Nope, no decaf. Only coffee was drip caffeinated. Ok that's fine. We also nabbed a cinnamon roll and chocolate croissant. They pointed me to the pump carafe with the only coffee they had and it was empty. So I happened to see two other carafes that were off to the side next to the bar and finally some joe I asked for a napkin to eat my pastry and neither of the two people working that morning could find a napkin. I finally leaned over the bar at the employee hand wash station and grabbed a couple paper towels The coffee was meh, the pastry's were also meh and the service hit the meh trifecta I miss the totally rad Easy Tiger on 6th and Wallet! So I'm one that would rather get great service if the food is going to be just mediocre. I was at this location just 4 days prior with 4 others from my job. We got great service and the food was great. The vibe was chill and we sat outside because for once the weather was tolerable in TX. I came back today and you have to seat yourself so I did. I sat there 10 mins in the spot closest to the bar and 3 servers looked at me and none of them helped me. Just as I was getting ready to leave someone walked up with menus. I knew what I wanted so I ordered right away. Who knows how long it would've taken had I let her outta my sight. I ordered house salad with grilled chicken and tomato bisque. Both had really great flavor but I'm so upset about the lack of service I really can't enjoy it. I watched every server bounce from table to table with a smile and I never even saw my server again until I ASKED for the bill 30 mins later. Someone else brought my food out. I took this personally. I was the ONLY black person in this restaurant. The first time I came I was the only black person in my group. The food is okay but the service lacked attentiveness and quality. Great outdoor patio area and wanted to love this location of Easy Tiger so much. Unfortunately, the reason behind taking 2 stars off is how many yellow jackets were buzzing around, and then swarming our table. Staff did nothing at all to help (turning on the fans might have been nice) and even released yellow jackets other tables had trapped in cups. We had planned to stay longer and order more, but had to leave due to the bee situation. The avocado toast is vegan! And it's great! It's easy to order online by scanning their QR code. Hate to say it, but it feels like the Torchy's curse is a thing. We in Austin have gotta this big head over the years as we've become the cool kids, with so many of our culture being exported all over the place. Local institutions like the aforementioned Torchy's, Rudy's, Alamo Drafthouse, Tito's, etc. have gone big time over the last decade. Heck, I had a Tito's shot in London a few years ago! Easy Tiger doesn't seem like a likely candidate but the signs are there. Their bread is at Central Market and H‑E‑B and they've expanded to four locations as well. I don't have a problem with any of it. By all means, you go Easy Tiger team, just don't forget what your bread and butter is (pun?)... And there's where we hit a snag. The food has been pretty bad the last three time we've been there. In fact, it was bad the previous times before the glowing review. Heck, it's been good once out of the last 5-6 times we've visited! The staff was uninterested, the bread soggy or hard, and the rest of the food just felt tired (think 7-Eleven hot dogs at 3am). It is what it is, I guess. Terrible service. When we arrived we were sat at a booth and waited for over 10 minutes only for no one to come wait on us. I would understand if it were busy, but there were only a handful of tables with other guests. There were plenty of staff, so not sure why we were ignored. At one point most of the staff was behind the bar just having a conversation with each other and seemed to disperse once they realized we noticed. Unfortunately service at Easy Tiger has been subpar. Yesterday was Sunday my girlfriend and I were doing a street tour on South Lamar and we came across this Easy Tiger location that we had never noticed. At first we thought it was not here, because the building was so far back from the street, luckily we found it and stopped in. The building was absolutely beautiful and looks brand-new. Environment in here as well as the decor was all on far. We got seated around 6:00 PM got a couple of sandwiches. We had a tough time decided between sandwiches and the all day breakfast, but ultimately I decided on a Grown Up Grilled Cheese with Turkey. Aside from the bread being a little more crunchy than my preference everything was fantastic. Our server here was fantastic and even ended up hooking us up with a caramel banana bread that was delicious. It was our first time at Easy Tiger and we are definitely now part of the loyal fan base. 5 stars easy. read more

Ordered from our phones and they bring foods/drinks directly to your table. Can also check out on your phone! We got a giant pretzel which was nice and crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Also got brussel sprouts (pretty decent). We got drinks, too - a paloma and Aperol spritz... I'd say they were good, and average/generous on the alcohol. I have been dying to go to Easy Tiger ever since they opened on South Lamar. Today I was craving pastrami in particular and was in the neighborhood so I decided to go get the pastrami sandwich to go. First impressions: convenient location, lots of parking options, clean restaurant and bathrooms, friendly but unknowledgeable staff, quick service but the restaurant was nearly empty at 3pm in the afternoon. When I checked out at the counter I was taken back by the price. $23 for a sandwich ($18+ tip). Probably the most expensive sandwich I've ever ordered, even when staying at a five-star hotel and ordering room service. OUCH. I still purchased it in hopes for a big fat pastrami sandwich that I could possibly split up for two meals. When I got back to home and opened the sandwich I was hugely disappointed. Where was the meat?! It only had a thin layer of pastrami and sauerkraut between two thick slices of oversized bread. WHAT? The taste was average to mediocre. Absolutely nothing special about this sandwich. Bland, no substance, too much bread. I felt ripped off. On the positive side the sandwich was homemade (fresh baked bread) and fresh prepared sauerkraut and dressing, so at least I knew it was quality food/whole food and not processed junk. Sadly that wasn't enough to make it remarkable or worth the price. I was also very disappointed it did not include a big fat pickle. That would be a very easy and tasty addition. This is Austin full of amazing food and amazing restaurants. Easy Tiger does not make the cut for me, nor would I recommend it to anyone else local or coming from out of town. Recommendations to management: pile on the pastrami, reimagine the sauce and include a pickle. House made potato chips or even any kind of potato chips would have helped justify the price a little. Also, more training and knowledge needed for the staff as they could not answer my questions about the products and menu items. Don't waste your money and time on a boring sandwich. Visited this place at random when driving around the area looking for somewhere casual to eat. Ambiance is very interesting and relaxing. Three of the six food items we wanted to order "were no longer being served or not available" at the time. Definitely a bummer since the waitress provided no suggestions, just a sorry you're out of luck. The food we did get was really tasty. The IPA my husband tried was also really good. Got a coke float for dessert and it came out with only half of the ice cream the menu advertised (1 scoop instead of 2). Service was just meh....not great but not the worst. This is a joint review from me and my partner. We went on two separate occasions. I went with my coworkers on a Thursday for an outing/birthday. The place itself is cute. Allows dogs. Twinkling lates. Cornhole off to the side. Just a cute, trendy, Austin-like place. But the experience was lack luster. The food took very long. The establishment didn't own enough cups, so part of us had to share cups or just didn't have water. The food was mediocre, save the fries. In this kind of weather, you should be prepared for flies to constantly fly around and land on your food. The drinks are also weak and the time between them will sober you up. My partner went a separate time. This time I had three things to eat: a strawberry and goat cheese salad, French toast bites, and ricotta toast to share. The salad was ok, but smelled absolutely rank. Even the vinaigrette smelled super off, and not in a heavy-in-vinegar kind of way. The goat cheese wasn't the best, and frankly you could see the indentation of the packaging. The French toast bites bad poor texture. You'd expect to use a slightly stale brioche but instead was a baguette style. It was not soaked enough in the egg mix before cooking for it to have a fluffy texture. Instead, it was hard and unenjoyable. A poor quality baguette instead of the nice ones at real boulangeries. The ricotta toast was the best part, but still wasn't that great. Texture was also off, like an overcooked steak that takes too much force to rip apart. Not only that, but the food took 1 hour to get here. At the end, they took his card and forgot to return it for 30 minutes. Couldn't get a hold of the waiter and left very late due to him forgetting about us. Twice have they been very disappointing! Don't recommend this place unless you just want to waste money on a company credit card or take your young mother-in-law that you hate. read more

They recently ended their breakfast offering all together. Now I go to Patika most mornings since they have an amazing breakfast menu. While Easy Tiger does still offer pastries, I don't want that every morning. I would also bring people to Easy Tiger all the time since this was my spot. I can't complain about the beer. The cinnamon twist I ordered was 1.5/10. It was hard and stale, and the temperature was lower than lukewarm. If they tried to reheat it even just a little bit, it probably would've been much better. The service was absolutely appalling. We ordered beers, 1 for each person for 3 people total when we arrived. It took about 20 minutes for our beers to arrive, and it wasn't even busy. There were only 2 other tables at the time. When they dropped off the beers, I asked if I could order another one. He told me he'd get the waitress for us, but she took another 15-20 min to come get our order. The whole time during the wait, I noticed that a decent amount of staff (4-6 people) were standing around chatting with each other in the back. The whole time they were chatting, we were waiting for our waitress to give her our next order of drinks. TL;DR: Extremely inattentive staff, with very slow and poor service. A beautiful fall evening in Austin deserved a patio visit. We sat upstairs and the view didn't disappoint. We just missed the sunset but the sky was still stunning. We grabbed some menus and decided on drinks and a giant pretzel. We also got the charcuterie board. My friend got a margarita which is said was 4/10 on a scale of margs. I tasted it and to me it tasted like a melted frozen margarita. Way too sweet for my liking. I wanted a cab (wine of choice) which they didn't have...I got a Malbec which wasn't horrible but I prefer a good bold cab. The pretzel was great as always and the charcuterie board was well laid out. Neither one of us like the almonds. They had some sort of oil on them. What I really was sad about was the jam. I was hoping for a fig jam but it was not. My first bite was not good at all. I even asked the waitress what it was...she very nicely called down to the kitchen on her little mic and found out that it was a strawberry ginger jam. Those two flavors do not go together in my personal opinion. The ginger was way too strong and over powering. The cheeses on the cheese board from Antonelli's Cheese Shop were on point. The goat cheese with honey was great. The blue cheese was yum and the Gouda was "Gouda". ba dum tss. I went mid-afternoon to pick up salad and bread. They texted me ahead to let me know they were out of pre-sliced bread but had whole loaf of same flavor. I accepted it but had wanted pre-sliced. There is a lot of construction underway and it makes parking cramped. Also, I could not locate the curbside spots. I went to the host stand to pick up. Nearly got run over by an impatient driver driving around the "Slow Down, Stay Awhile" sign. Ironic. The Winter Kale salad seems overpriced for the portion size. It is tasty, just on the small side.
