Great breakfast spot serving fantastic potatoes and great breakfast items including pancakes, fried egg sandwich.

I went to Eats a couple times over the pandemic and always loved their menu. So fast forward a year, and it's so great that their full menu came back! This place is in a great spot in Inner Richmond. I had to try the spicy tomato skillet when I saw it on the window on a white piece of paper taped to the window. It was a great little skillet of tomatoes, peppers, and onions with a fried egg on top, sourdough bread, and THE BEST crispy potatoes. The only thing I wish was that there was a little more bread. That being said, it's a spicy, tomato party in your mouth. Pair that with a delicious egg and some perfectly seasoned, crispy home fries, and the bread and it's the perfect meal. Note: regardless of if you eat there vs. to go, you need to order at the window outside, then they'll give you a number and you can find a table to eat at. read more

Super weird service since new ownership took over. I never felt compelled to review Eats as it was just another neighborhood breakfast spot in SF but since the restaurant reopened to new ownership, we were curious. Firstly, the food was fantastic. Everything tasted good but we did have to send a plate back because it wasn't what we ordered. Normally we would just eat it but our picky toddler is not into scrambled eggs right now and we had specifically asked for it to be cooked medium (as in yolks intact and not scrambled). Not only did the eggs arrive scrambled, but the dish - simple bacon and eggs - took nearly 45mins. And after the adult plates arrived for some time. You can imagine our kid was not interested in her plate after eating ours. So it had to be sent back, which took another 30mins. All in all, we were at the restaurant for nearly 2 hours. The waiter would pretend to not look at us until we got in his face and waved him over. Horrible service and his tip reflected it. Honestly we shouldn't have tipped at all due to his ridiculous behavior. He was a smaller white guy wearing glasses and standing around awkwardly. We had to wave OTHER waiters down to get refills on coffee, water, extra plates, you name it. When the manager or owner said goodbye to us at the door, I felt compelled to let them know about our bad experience but my husband was ready to get out of there and never come back. read more

It is quite loud, at least on Saturdays, as it is packed then; it adds to the nice atmosphere. The Tosta-Quiles were excellent so were the fried potatoes. The only thing missing is an espresso machine! read more

I put my on the waitlist for 4 people at around ~12:15 and we were seated at around ~1:30pm. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros ($15.25). I feel like it was a bit expensive for what it was and I could probably eat more, but still tasty. My friend got the Mexican Scramble ($15.25), which she said was cold when she got it. Other than that, she was it was good and was super filling. Another friend got the Spicy Tomato Skillet ($12.50), which she said had really good flavors, but was not spicy at all. Our other friend got the Farmers Omelette ($13.75), which she said was good, but pretty basic. Overall, I'm not sure I'd wait that long again for brunch right away (though the yelp waitlist made it a whole lot easier), but I'm glad we tried it. read more

I'm not sure if this is the third or fourth owner since I've been going to Eats for the last 30 years and honestly every reopen has been good, but this reopened I think really goes back to classic breakfast. Everything is delicious and simple and exactly how you think it would be when you order it which I love! the service is wonderful, warm and friendly. The renovation is really modern and clean, the parklet is cozy and of course dog friendly! .I've only eaten outside the three times I've been there. I'll try inside next time read more

Breakfast break on sunday during the farmers market was an excellent idea! Lots of seating inside and outside. Our breakfast was delicious. I got 2 eggs plus potatoes. Umm the potatoes are amazing so get a side of them if you're here. I also got a small pancake with it. Our service was great of waitress was very attentive to us. The prices were not too bad. Great food, nice staff, solid vibe. My friend and I sat outside. Cute parklette blocks the wind well. Staff is friendly and helpful. Very inviting. Food on point. Started with a hot mocha. Not too sweet. Nice espresso. Good chocolate flavor. I ordered the panko crusted fried chicken sandwich and a side of fries. Fries were crispy and came in a large bowl on the side. Big enough to share. I was quite impressed with the sandwich. It comes with guacamole on top. You never know how the guac is going to come out when you order it. Is it going to be guacamole spread? Is it going to be avocado slices? This was legit chunky avocado guacamole with fresh tomatoes. Made me happy. Chicken was crispy. Bun was fresh. Not greasy. Clean chicken sandwich. My friend ordered the cheeseburger and loved it. Came out at the perfect temperature. Her latte was perfect. We asked for things on the side and the staff were sooo accommodating. Two thumbs up! Came here for brunch since the bakery down the block had a looong line. Heard good things about this place so why not since I'm in the area. I guess I had such expectation for this place to find out that, it was A-Ok. Maybe I came on a bad day? who knows? but I'm not a big fan my first time being here. 4/5 Customer Service - Friendly and welcoming workers, so that's great! They were also very helpful and attentive! So not much to say about that. 2.5/5 Food - Like I said, I expected the food to be good here but I find it just "ok".. The bacon was too salty, the eggs were bland for me, the waffles were a bit dry and why was I given half the tub of whipped cream on top of my waffles? To be frank, it did not look appetizing to me when I saw it. I still ate it bcus no food shall go to waste! As long as it's edible, I'll still eat it. Hopped here on a Sunday for a weekend brunch experience on the fly. The line was rather long, especially since the weekly farmers market was also happening on the same street. Eats SF also has everyone wait in line to order, and then you later find a seat in their outdoor or indoor seating. Despite the line just taking orders, the line was rather packed the time I went, and took around 20-30 minutes. However, the seats cleared out rather quickly and we had no problem snagging a table. Eats SF had a pretty standardized brunch experience featuring your typical American brunch meals. We ordered the banana chocolate pancakes and a spinach mushroom Benedict. The prices are much affordable in comparison to other SF brunch locations such as Sweet Maple, but I did feel like the taste was lacking in comparison. Still a good destination if you want to check it out! However, would recommend showing up a bit earlier than the 11am crowd to avoid the order line. They also have a pick up line where you order ahead of time that was much quicker. read more

My local breakfast eatery I've been going to for 30+ years. Still only go there for breakfast though. Wish they had hash browns over grilled potatoes for their breakfast potatoes but that is my only criticism. Outdoor seating has heat lamps and there usually is a line Sunday mornings when the Farmer's market is going on. Great selection for kids as well at this hot spot for brunch. I went for the BAT scramble and my companion had the breakfast sandwich. Wow. I can't believe I've been sleeping on this spot for so long. Came here for a late brunch on a Monday with a friend and it was packed. You order at the window and can sit wherever you like. We got the spicy tomato skillet and the avocado lox benedict on brioche and were so impressed with both! The skillet was nice and spicy with plenty of vegetables and cheese. And the garlic potatoes on the side were so crispy and melt in your mouth. The avocado lox benedict was the real star though. I never thought to have a benedict on brioche but it wasn't too butter or overpowering at all. The flavor was amazing and the fluffiness of the brioche really added to the deliciousness. I had tried this place once before and wasn't impressed but I'm so glad I came again because I'd definitely recommend it now. DURING COVID* was visiting family in SF and needed some yummy breakfast one morning. It was close to my hotel so I went on this app and saw that I could just I order where for pick up. Food was so good we ended up coming twice! Pick up was seamless and food was ready quick! Veggie breakfast sandwich- 5/5 This was delicious! Super filling, flavorful, and just all around perfect. Mom and da loved it so much too! Mexican Scramble- 5/5 wow wow wow let me tell you, couldn't decide between this or the huevos rancheros but this was EPIC! The wait is worth it. The yelp app helps a ton. There are a lot of outside tables so be prepared to sit outside if you don't want to wait longer. The Mexican scramble with shredded pork was a mixture of 10+ tastes and textures that added up to a great dish. The fried tortillas stayed crispy while eating this large serving. I shared some of it with my wife. It is clearly enough to share, esp if you get the side of meat. My son lives close to Clement and frequents the restaurant and the bacon waffles. We agreed this dish met the definition of "bland" as instructed by his doctors. Maybe it was bland compared to the scramble, but it was a great balance of tastes and textures - again. read more

As usual, for weekend brunch in SF, it was about an hour wait when I entered the waitlist online at 10:15 am for 3 people. I, of course, timed it perfectly and got seated within 5 minutes of arrival, so it was not too shabby. There is honestly not too strong of an appeal to this place besides the fact that it is well located between Golden Gate Park and Presidio, perfect for tourists. Maybe the appeal of this place is the minimalistically decorated Eats mug: red mug with white logo. That certainly gives a signature to the food presented. The avocado fancy toast in itself is pretty solid: generous amounts of avocado and sunflower sprouts topped on sourdough, with flavorful scrambled egg on top. The leading flavor of the scrambled egg is of course egg, but the green onion aroma comes in a close second. The bread is soft on the inside, but a little bit on the harder side on the outside. The Mexican scramble with pulled pork is decent. It was our fault that we ate this dish last, 25 minutes after they served us the dish. The tortilla chips that didn't touch the sauce is still slightly crunchy, while those that are filled with salsa is still a little crunchy. They did a great job making sure the food is still delicious after leaving it out for a long time. The avocados for the most part are fresh, but one of the pieces was oxidized, so it was less than ideal. The scrambled egg within is also pretty flavorful, with a slight green onion aroma. The pulled pork is merely for the extra protein and not really super tender to make it memorable. The black beans and cheese are pretty standard and just add to the Mexican-inspired brunch dish. The waffle berries and cream is of moderate size, with fruits that are quite fresh and whipped cream that is slightly creamy. The waffles are a little bit on the softer side, but it is still passable when you include the maple syrup that comes in a glass container. Overall, this brunch place is not really worth the wait, as the wait is primarily due to the size of the restaurant and not the extraordinary food quality. read more

The staff are so friendly and kind here. Came in this morning and picked up breakfast. Got the Vadouvan Curry Chickpeas with a side of fried potatoes. Both are absolutely delicious. The chickpeas are light and come with lots of veggies. The potatoes are deliciously fried. While waiting for my food, the staff offered water and coffee even though my order was to go. This was possibly the most perfect biscuit I have ever had. It's so easy to make an ordinary biscuit, and so deeply difficult to make one like this. The lemonade was delicious, again, so easy to make something mediocre. And whatever bacon they are using is top notch. They are obviously using high quality ingredients across the board, which does not come cheap, I wish this place was in Oakland. read more

Pretty darn good stuff... I can get used to eating breakfast especially like this. Again, having an appointment in the neighborhood on a weekday morning, we changed it up by trying another new (for us) breakfast place. We found metered parking a half block away. After a short wait, we were seated at a two top near the kitchen. The restaurant was full but not overly bustling likely because it was a weekday. After we were given menus, it took a few glances at the Yelp listing and peeks at the menu before I decided on my breakfast. The description is what sold me: Panko crusted all natural chicken, mushroom gravy (yes, sold!), honey butter, powder sugar. The chicken was crispy and boneless, yet not dry... even if it was, the mushroom gravy, sigh. The waffles had a nice texture, not overly crisp and the syrup was not too sweet striking a great balance between savory and sweet. Service was good and not overbearing. Drink glasses were refilled and empty plates and dirty utensils removed promptly. In a word, efficient. Don't expect long explanations or chit chat conversations with your waiter or waitress as they are briskly meeting the needs of all diners. And this was on a weekday... Yes, I will be back and my big decision will be to have that chicken and waffles again or try one of their interesting egg menu options... Or grow another stomach and do BOTH! read more

Amazing food! This is hands down my new favorite brunch place in SF. We were 5 people so got to try quite a few dishes: Almond Rice Flour Pancakes (gf) - best pancakes ever! I loved the texture. Caramelized Custard French Toast - melts in your mouth Tostada-Quiles - light fluffy eggs on crispy red taco. Great presentation of colors. Thai Pulled Pork - wonderful flavoring Buttermilk Biscuit - crispy outside and soft fluffy inside Chocolate Chip Cookie - gooey and chewy I'm annoyed I forgot to take photos but the food was so good we all dug in as soon as it arrive. Every single dish was delicious so I can't decide which one is my favorite. The buttermilk biscuit was quite different with a crispy outside. I could have eaten 3 of those by myself. Service was great! Maybe the previous reviews about the service were due to teething issues at new opening because we thought the service was attentive and staff were very friendly.  I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes. I want to first say this was our go to spot. The menu was on point, but the ordering outside and trying to find a table was a little difficult so I was excited about the renovation happening. I used to order a latte, with the breakfast suite and by far was my favorite breakfast to eat. Now post renovation, the restaurant is beautiful. I love the layout and the updated furniture. However, why on earth would you change the menu? I am so, so bummed they no longer carry espresso. They don't offer chicken and waffles and the breakfast suite is no more. Why ruin what was such a great thing in the first place? Ugh, once my favorite spot is no more. We had breakfast there this morning (fluffy pancakes and coffee) and it wasn't the same. If the original menu comes back, I will too. Until then, gotta find another place. read more

I normally don't leave reviews but I was honestly stunned by my experience at Eats. My friend and I each ordered an entree salad with a chicken add on. The salad was minuscule - truly the size of a side salad - and boring. And the $7 chicken add-on was one small chicken thigh that wasn't even mixed into the salad. We spent $80 including tip (each of us getting one drink) and left still ravenous. I can't believe we spent almost $100 for two side salads and some sparkling water. Service was nothing special and, frankly, rushed. I will not be returning or recommending this place! read more

Last time I dined here it was called Cheers. Apparently this spot likes monosyllabic names: Now it's "Eats." And even on a Saturday which doesn't normally seem to be a big brunch day, there was a moderately sized crowd waiting for tables. We only waited 15 minutes for our table of two (waits were much longer for tables of 4 since most are deuces- bigger groups were waiting over 40 minutes since the restaurant is small). The menu was extensive for such a modest spot and had a bit of everything, from a delicious variety of interesting sandwiches and salads to omelettes, breakfast burritos, steel cut oatmeal, fresh fruit and "fancy toast." Feeling brunchy, we both ordered the Breakfast Suite (2 eggs, bacon or chicken sausage, mini waffle (or a "waffle berry" with fruit, whipped cream and honey syrup for an extra $2.75, definitely the way to go!) Unfortunately, our server made a computer mistake, input only one order and my breakfast was delayed by 10 minutes. He was very apologetic and brought a beautiful cup of fruit and took 20% off our bill which made up for the error. The breakfast was excellent, the coffee and fresh juices were terrific and it was nice dining al fresco (though a bit nippy). I'd go back to Eats in a hot minute to sample more of their menu. Maybe we'll go next when school's out to avoid the weekend crowds. read more

Amazing pancakes! I've been here a few times, the food is always great! Service has changed a bit since the pandemic but they're very nice. Food is served on disposable plates and plastic-wear, I understand that this significantly reduces the interaction between employees, guests and any other contaminants. However, it also creates a lot of waste. Not very environmentally friendly, but I understand that they're doing what they can to protect everyone! read more
