This place is FANTASTIC!!! The sushi came out very quickly and was so delicious. One of the dishes I ordered didn't come out as fast as all of the other food which was no problem at all but I thought it was so nice of them to pay for it because of the wait.They're taking great social distancing measures. The staff is so friendly and respectful. They make you feel at home and apart of a family. All of the staff were wearing gloves and mask. Hand sanitizer was provided at the front desk and they also gave your table its own personal bottle. I would eat at EBESU again in a heart beat. I HIGHLY recommend eating there!!!! read more

I saw all the positive reviews and had to try this place. And it definitely lived up to expectations! Although the sashimi was pretty good, we'll probably only order nigiri when we come back. For the nigiri, they were generous with the fish and the portion of rice was just right. We got yellowtail, seared salmon belly, and seared chu-toro. All were good quality & yummy, but my personal favorite was the seared salmon belly. For robata, we got portobello mushroom with cheese, grilled duck breast, chicken wing, pork jowl, and pork belly. My favorites were the portobello mushroom, pork jowl, & pork belly. But all were excellent! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, especially the fish. We wanted to celebrate my birthday mid-pandemic with a special (takeout) dinner, so we got the DIY Temaki Assortment. Because of the price, we weren't sure if it'd be enough food for the two of us, so we also ordered the Appetizer Sampler and ended up with leftovers! The DIY kit was really fun, with ample variety and plenty of fish. Some of the fried appetizer items didn't travel well (lost their crispiness), but that's to be expected. we love ebesu! from the amazing and friendly staff to the phenomenal food, everything is the best here. for example, we enjoyed the yuzu sauce in one of the dishes and they packed us an entire container of it. also, the staff here offered to take pictures for us without being asked, were honest, and just overall the most friendly staff i have ever encountered! if i had to recommend just a few dishes from ebesu it would definitely be the "baby back ribs" which have an unforgettable hoisin sauce flavor accompanied by a crispy and fatty exterior! sushi wise, you truley cannot go wrong, but i loved the avocado and cucumber salmon roll, eel cucumber avocado roll, and the spicy salmon crunch roll! to add, the "chirashi don bowl" was perfect. its perfect for someone t who loves a fresh dish with lots of variety of what's in it! for desert, we enjoyed the matcha tiramisu and their cheesecake; it's not your normal dense cheesecake. it is light and refreshing especially paired with the ice cream, berries, and whipped cream. also in the past, i tried the crème brûlée which was also great! overall, ebesu is delicious, inviting, and a beautiful restaurant! read more

Cute little restaurant located in downtown Plano next to urban crust and the rest of the restaurants! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. The only thing that wasn't nice was the food. How much am I paying for how much food I am getting???? 9 dollar for salmon sashimi and you get 3 pieces... 3.. I don't think I ever received 3 pieces of room temperature salmon before. The otoro was good but again, 3 pieces for 30 dollar. The portions are extremely small and the price is way too high. Girlfriend and I spend 70 dollar without the 10% soft opening discount and neither of us were full. Not even satisfied. The Robata doesn't have any flavor to it. The egg plant was just grills with some flakes on top... no flavor nothing special. The pork neck was fatty and it came on a brick of rock salt. I wonder if they reuse that brick.. and how... is it sanitary? The beef tataki had too much daikon and carrot wrapped inside that I can barely taste the beef when I ate it. Over all the price we paid was uchi price. The quality we received was no more than half of what uchi offered. If you want better sushi. I suggest drive a little further and go to sushi sake. Better quality and more selection. Or try it out like us. And never go back there again. read more

We just had dinner here tonight and everything was amazing. The fish was so fresh and melt in your mouth. I loved the fish to rice ratio on the nigiri here - not too much rice and a big bite of fish. Our server Anna was AMAZING! I wish we had her as a server everywhere we went - she was so sweet, attentive, and on point with her recommendations. She recommended us the pork jowl robata (SOOO good), and the golden eye snapper nigiri - both so good. She even brought us 2 complimentary desserts for our celebrations (anniversary and bf's birthday). We will most definitely be coming back, and hope to get Anna as our server! read more

One of the most authentic Japanese restaurant in my opinion. Chicken karaage was nicely flavored and slightly smothered with stocks sauce, which was not often seen, tasted very good. Salmon crudo was very appetizing. Agedashi tofu was nicely fried, crispy on the outside and very tender inside, with tasty broth. Chicken skewers, port belly skewers, bacon wrapped tomato were a bit on the average side. The sashimi (Tuna, Hamachi Yellow Tail toro) and nigiri sushi (Botanebi prawn, Ikura salmon roe) was extremely good. I can tell the chef was very serious about the quality sashimi and sushi being served, very professional. Lastly we finished off with hot meat udon with pork topping, a bit pricey ($16), but I gotta it's one of the best I had. We also received a cheesecake on the house for celebrating birthday, it was a serious cheesecake which was very tasty and good portion size (not sample size) as well! read more

The first time we went to Ebesu, we didn't expect much from the lowkey exterior. However, once entering, the style of the restaurant is very nice and adds to the lovely atmosphere. Since discovering Ebesu, we've been back at least once a month for casual, celebratory, and date night occasions. The service is always top notch. The manager can be seen checking in with the other employees as well as the patrons on a regular basis. I've never had a food item that I didn't like or finish. The Japanese fusion items are creative and innovative with well-thought out texture and flavor profiles. The drinks are always consistent and delicious. Five stars! We walked in, place has been open for only weeks now, and we see a decent amount of people, maybe half the restaurant is full. The staff greets us to please come in and have seat. Food presentation was perfect. The chefs take their time when preparing the dish, server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu. we went crazy here and were surprised at how reasonably priced it was for what you get. it was really delicious and well prepared, so it's really satisfying. my whole family enjoyed the food and ambience very much. we loved the poached pear, hamachi crudo, fried potatoes, pork belly, hangar steak, scallop sushi, California roll. Almost distractingly too bright. The menu is VERY confusing and our server did not help out much. I went twice to their anniversary 5 course meal. The chilled corn soup doesn't just taste like pureed corn. They added some non spicy seasoning to it to enhance the flavor. Sadly my palate is not advanced enough to tell what it was. Just that I really liked it and wished they had on the normal menu. The Kale salad with the shrimp croutons were very unique and gave it a savory crunch. The Robata assortment and others were grilled in front of me. I sat at the sushi bar in front of the clear glass separating me from the charcoal fire grill. The miso yaki Chilean sea bass was so delicious. This was my favorite one that I really wished they had on the normal menu. I did not expect to be wowed by the baby corn and carrot. The lemon thyme Dijon mustard Bronzini fish was good but they did caution me that it had it's head and tail on and had bones. It had big bones not small bones so not that bad. The extra work was worth it. The sides really shined. Most places it's an after thought, like it was a filler but not here. It's amazing their ability to make simple dishes taste more complex. The poached bosc pear was soaked in wine. The best part is the sauce. I practically licked the plate clean. In the croissant pudding you can actually tell that it's a croissant. It's not like other bread pudding where the bread is a soggy mess. If I have the time I will would go again for their anniversary dinner. Yummy! read more

This restaurant has the best Robata selections and the prices are very reasonable for the area. As you enter into this restaurant you will feel/experience the design is not your average Japanese restaurant has, its really cool. I was impressed with the private's seating with the tables selection so different from other places. I haven't try everything on menu but so far it's very impressive.
