You can probably tell how much I enjoy dining here because I come here at least once a month. Came for dinner Tuesday night. It wasn't very busy. Sat in the little private room. I like it cuz it's nice & cozy & love the privacy. It Seats about 6 comfortably. Loved the scallops & the oysters. I was bummed they didn't have otoro but I ordered extra chutoro. I know I'll be back soon again. Staff is always friendly

We were celebrating one belated birthday, one job update, and one new house for three separate special ladies. I wanted to celebrate with a nice lunch and after reading a few reviews of restaurants located in Elk Grove, I decided to go with EBISU and these guys did not disappoint. Our party of 7 ordered a decent size spread that included the following: * 2 Truffle Hamachi * 2 Super Combos * 1 Double Toro Roll * 1 Rainbow Roll * 1 Elk Grove Special Roll * 1 Fresh Oysters (dozen) * 2 Miso Soups * 2 Side Salads * 1 Bento Box - Mixed Tempura and Beef Teriyaki * 1 Wagyu Roll * 1 Mixed Tempura * 1 Cream Crepe Cake Presentation was lovely (see photos), sashimi was fresh, and the flavors were spot on. For example, we had the truffle hamachi prepared two ways with two different sauces -- absolutely delicious. Oh, don't forget to request for the fresh pickled wasabi. It was a $500 lunch after taxes and gratuity, and I would say it was worth every penny.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Ebisu, and enjoyed a bento box and a roll. Starting off with the miso soup really hit the spot for me. My bento box choices was teriyaki chicken and mixed tempura. I love the lightness of the batter on the tempura so the shrimp and vegetables really stand out, and the teriyaki chicken was really moist with the perfect amount of sauce. My daughter really enjoyed the mochi ice cream birthday surprise, and the service is excellent. She's always so friendly, personable and efficient. We love that we are able to sit back, relax and take our time with our meal. I really like the lobster roll, with the lobster pieces.

Good fresh sushi! Definitely hit the spot. Came here on a Saturday, around 5:30 and was surprised there was no wait. Our server was super friendly and great! Food of excellent and the oyster shots were on point!

If you're looking to switch up your usual sushi spot in Elk Grove, Ebisu is definitely worth a visit! Came here on a Saturday night expecting a crowd, but surprisingly it was pretty calm and we were seated right away. The space itself is huge, super clean, and has a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your meal. Service was also a highlight, everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. We went all in on the menu and ordered the fresh oysters (half with uni, half regular), double toro roll, Ebisu roll, tonkatsu ramen, and the sushi taco. Honestly... everything was sooo good. You can really tell the quality of the fish here is top-tier. The standout of the night was easily the double toro roll- so buttery, rich, and perfectly balanced. Every bite just melted in your mouth. That alone is worth coming back for. For a first visit, Ebisu definitely made a strong impression. Between the quality, service, and overall experience, I'd absolutely come back to explore more of the menu!

Came in on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but we got sat right away without a wait. Ordered the teriyaki and sesame chicken entrees. They brought out my fiancés food first, and mine finally like 15 mins later. They must've forgotten about mine because by the time mine came out, the chicken was piping hot but the veggies on the plate were already cold. Not even room temperature, but just cold. My fiancé was literally already done eating by that time. I was pretty disappointed but didn't want to make a fuss. Service was moving slow, no one ever checked on us. I wasn't impressed this time. Sauce was also a little salty today. Hope it's better next time.

Came by on a Friday night around 6pm and we were seated quickly as a party of two. Seemed they had a larger birthday party in a private room but this did not slow down service. We ordered the Sacramento, caterpillar, spider and lobster rolls, which are all cooked rolls. We also got the gesso and soft shell crab as appetizers. Half of our rolls came out before the appetizers did. Staff were good about clearing plates out of the way as we finished. Enjoyed all the food but I'd probably ask for less sauce on the sushi rolls next time.

My family and I stopped by EBISU for dinner on 6/18/26. I heard that this particular restaurant was a great spot in Elk Grove. We unfortunately found that was not the case. The three of us out of a party of 5 ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, unfortunately all our ramen bowls lacked flavor, especially the broth, which was bland, the ramen noodles were over cooked and also lacked flavor. The noodles were something like were would find from an instant ramen noodles package from the local asian supermarket. One bowl in particular had a heavy bamboo shoot taste in the broth, also 2 out of 3 Tonkotsu bowls had clumpy noodles that were sticking together. The gentleman that greeted us at the door and the same person who took our order was not very friendly, typical of Asian restaurant culture. We waited 10 mins for water to be served to us. The staff looked overwhelmed, 3 staff members for front of the house for a Thursday dinner service? We are not sure if we would go back and give their sushi menu a try after this lackluster ramen dinner.

Bc of their coupon in the EG Marketplace flyer we only knew about this restaurant. We actually visited it prior to those coupons with friends though. Am I making sense? Of course not! I know. Silly me! lol Their food is decent but better in house to tell you the truth. Lots of parking in their huge lot & service is fast & convenient. We like the chill ambiance & it's very relaxing here. We prefer eating in the restaurant just bc to go well you know what happens. It's just not the same. I think they know us here as frequent as we have been here!!! My favorite is the chirashi bowl & my wife likes the steak chimichurri with steamed veggies. It's truly delicious. Reluctantly to write reviews bc once the word gets out it gets too busy! Oh the first time we were here that humongous sushi roll was cool to see!!! I remembered my wife ordering the chicken teriyaki & it was totally immersed with sauce so ask for sauce on the side! Mark my words!

My first time visiting this restaurant. Nice size to accommodate small and large groups. We were seated right away. Menu offered a different variety of items that I dont normally see. So if you're being adventurous with raw fish, its the place for you. Service was decent and food was really good. It felt like we ordered everything. -Green tea -Gyoza -Bbq spare ribs -Teriyaki chicken -Beef Teriyaki -Lobster roll

We got the omakase board for 2, the server recommended since they just came out with the special menu! The value of this board is amazing! We got so much food for $90! We couldn't finish the rolls and had to pack it. The fish quality was very fresh and everything tasted delicious. The most recent time I went, the quality was not there. The nigiri set I got was just salmon, tuna, and hamachi. There was not a lot of variety and the bluefin tuna trio, my friends got was terrible. I'm hoping it was just an off day for them!

Service was phenomenal! Our waitress was consistent on checking up on us, refilling our beverages, and overall just really friendly. The food was equally just as phenomenal. We got a few rolls, oysters, clay rice pot. Everything was fresh, lots of flavor, and sauced very well. Their presentation was also really beautiful. I tried things I would definitely order next time. The restaurant is pretty roomy and quiet when it's not busy, and it was very clean and decorated nicely.

The lion king was so burned. It was inedible. I'd expect better service from this place, I'm so disappointed.

We ordered some cold green tea, and started our meal with 12 piece sashimi and an order of chicken karaage. I was craving the tonkatsu curry entree, hubs ordered the chicken katsu don and daughter ordered the sashimi don buri. While I didn't get pics of every one of our dishes, trust me when I say our plates were left clean. While this wasn't our first visit, it had been a while, and that's only because it's a small, but traditional Japanese shop that is ALWAYS crowded. Our delicious meals were a pleasant reminder that we need to be patient and get back to Yoshi soon, regardless of any wait!

Expect to wait an hour for your food after you have been seated. We arrived close to opening at noon on a Sunday and did not leave until 2pm which is when they close for lunch. We sat at the back right side of the restaurant which is where the AC is blasting so it can get very cold when seated here. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

We know the family, we've celebrated special occasions here, and there was a time when we were coming in almost weekly. This has never been just another restaurant for us, which is why this review makes me so sad. We placed our order around 5:00 pm and I ended up waiting until almost 6:30 pm for our food. To be fair, they were incredibly busy and appeared to be short staffed, so I tried to be patient and understanding. While I was sitting at the bar waiting, I was informed that several of our rolls had been made with all the sauces on them despite us specifically ordering them with no sauces. Normally that might not sound like a huge issue, but we don't order them that way just because of preference. My husband and daughter cannot tolerate spicy foods, which is why we always ask for sauces on the side. What surprised me most was how the situation was handled. There was no offer to remake the rolls. After waiting an hour and a half, I was simply handed the order, given an apology, and sent on my way. Unfortunately, once we got home, it became clear why that mattered. Much of the sushi couldn't be enjoyed the way it was intended because of the sauces. Sushi isn't inexpensive, and it was frustrating knowing that after such a long wait, a large portion of the meal wasn't something my family could comfortably eat. I also ordered my usual Mixashimi salad, which has been one of my favorite items on the menu for years. When I got home and started mixing the fish with the dressing, I noticed dark lines running throughout several pieces of fish. I don't know exactly what they were, but it was enough to make me uncomfortable. After taking a closer look, I ended up throwing the entire salad away. What makes this review especially difficult is that this wasn't one bad first impression. This was a restaurant we genuinely loved and recommended to people. That's why this visit felt less disappointing and more heartbreaking. Restaurants have off nights. Mistakes happen. Being short staffed happens. I can give grace for all of those things. What was harder to overlook was waiting an hour and a half, receiving an order that wasn't prepared correctly, not being offered a solution, and then coming home to a meal that largely ended up in the trash. I truly wish I was writing a different review because Wasabi has been part of our family's story for a long time. Unfortunately, this visit left us feeling like it may be time to find a new sushi spot. Helpful tip: If you have dietary restrictions or specific preparation requests, double check your order before leaving, especially during busy periods. This is one review I never thought I'd be writing.

I loved it just as it ORIGINALLY was, but the upgrades are AMAZING... The main entrance has been totally remodeled and a beautiful bar has been added. They also changed the tv area, in the main entrance, to look like the windows of an airplane instead of playing destinations on the screen, which I LOVED, because it enabled me to see sky views of places I have never and may never visit. They were playing soccer, which I understand, because the world is watching the World Cup. One of my favorite things was the hot, moist hand towels given at the beginning of your meal. I LOVED it. I thought it was so elegant and sopisticated. I am not a fan of washing my hands and then eating from a public restaurant, touch on the door to enter and exit. Now they provide the hand towels at the end of your meal, but this is fine dining, I am not using my hands to eat, and I have a napkin, if needed. So, I would prefer to cleanse my hands at the beginning of my meal. I sat in the newly renovated area which looked like the inside of an airplane. Sooooooooo, DOPE!!! It was BEAUTIFULY done! Felt FIRST CLASS, all the way. The furniture was AMAZING and looked elegant and high class. Some things on the menu had changed, but that is to be expected. My meal was delicious. I loved the free glass of champagne with my 1/2 dozen order of Oysters, which were scrumptious. They also updated their front patio, where after my meal I enjoyed a cigar. Plenty of seating. Every table is covered by HUGE umbrellas. What I thought was cute and unique, when I had finished my meal and paid my bill, I was given a token. There are gift machines inside and on the patio. I really wanted the Unicorn key chain, which I did not win, but I thought it was a nice touch for the kids and the kids at heart with adult wallets. Lol.

I ordered two main courses: Black Truffle Pasta: A wonderful, rich dish execution that was incredibly satisfying. Given the premium pricing, the shrimp were a bit underwhelming in size. Another dish, Golden Nest Black Pepper Steak, was absolutely outstanding. This was the star of the night. It came in a very generous portion with a stunning presentation. Flavor-wise, it features a phenomenal, distinct, smoky wok hei (breath of the wok) flavor that truly elevated the meat. Their beautiful interior design sets a refined, upscale tone. It is chic, elegant, and perfectly suited for a celebratory evening. The service matches the decor--attentive, polished, and professional throughout the night. As an added and highly appreciated bonus, they offer free parking, which eliminates the usual fine-dining hassle right out of the gate. The only real drawback here is the price tag. At $33 for a Chinese dish, it feels quite pricey for the Sacramento area, especially before receiving any official Michelin recognition. Because of the pricing, Sky Port isn't a spot for casual, daily dining. However, the gorgeous ambiance, stellar service, and standout flavors make it an excellent choice for a date night or a memorable special occasion.
