I just had the Lunch Special Mongolian Beef with Fried Rice. It came out the kitchen in a few minutes. I like my food spicy a bit and it certainly was this day for sure. I mean, thats kinda the point of that dish ya know. The place to dine in is ok. I wouldn't bring a new date here though. The decor is pretty typical for these dine in Chinese fast food places and im not saying its fast food, their service was the few times I have been

Edna Ray is my go-to for local Chinese food, both takeout and to eat in. The Kung Pao Tofu is so tasty! Inside there are lots of tables and the atmosphere is relaxed and ideal for a comfortable, delicious meal. Highly recommend!

This is my go to Chinese food spot! It's a hole in the wall but the food is fresh, quick and packed with flavor! The service is very friendly. Definitely a must try.

Ordered some food to go and while the food was good, delivery and presentation was terrible. I just say I usually love this place and it never missed, but today must have been an off day. Ordered pot stickers, pork fried rice, mushu pork, honey walnut shrimp, and beef chow fun. Everything was really tasty but when it was delivered by Uber eats some had spilt into the bag and mixed with the other food. I will say we did order Peking Chicken and what we got instead was sweet and sour chicken :( Maybe this is an Uber eats issue so I won't fault Edna ray too much but maybe package it a little more careful and for all this food maybe use 2 bags.

Been coming to this location for years ever since I was little. This has been my on the go for take-out and dine in. I would say is one of San Jose's hidden Gem. what we order: -fried rice 5/5 -orange chicken 5/5 -sweet and sour pork 3/5 (im not a big fan) -won ton soup 3/5 - honey walnut shrimp 5/5 - wonton with cream cheese 5/5 -tempura shrimp 5/5 Service was fast and they were very friendly.

I'll start with the good... The Honey Walnut Prawns are divine! Just ordered take-out from Edna Ray's. They could have included chopsticks, soy sauce and fortune cookies. None of which came in the bag. Only 2 forks and a mere 2 napkins. Fried rice was pretty bland as well. Unfortunately had to douse this in soy sauce to add flavor. Chow mein was also just alright. Left a lot to be desired.

Big fan of the WIllow Glen Edna Ray - unfortunately this location is very different. Even the "spicy" dishes were very bland

Is this the same business that used to be located on Lincoln in Willow Glen?

Edna Ray is now on San Carlos from Willow Glen. I've been there twice already and have had great, attentive service, and wonderful food.

Getting them to-go or taking them home just isn't the same experience--they are best enjoyed hot right out of the kitchen. The Environment: The restaurant itself is very basic and could definitely use a deep clean, especially the floors. If you're looking for a romantic lunch, a date spot, or a sleek environment, you will be disappointed. Final Verdict: I definitely recommend this spot if you want a fast, delicious dumpling fix and don't care much about ambiance. Just lower your expectations for the decor, dine in, and enjoy the food!

If you're going to be paying $60-$70 for two people, you would at least expect your food not to be burnt and the staff not be rude! I have been looking forward to going to this place for two years, it was a birthday dinner and I was so disappointed by my experience. I understand that it's downtown San Jose and we came in the evening, so maybe that's just how closing staff is. First off when we were seated, I asked to be moved to a more comfortable's table because the chairs were really uncomfortable for me. The staff seemed irritated and said "I guess" which was the first red flag because it's nerve-racking enough to ask for a special request and to be met with an unprofessional answer like that was disheartening. Secondly, two orders of dumplings came out burnt, which was seriously disappointing. We could barely eat them. We didn't end up finishing them. I brought this up to staff. He told me they weren't burnt and that's just how they are. I know the difference between burnt and browned and these were definitely burnt hard on the bottom and inedible. He begrudgingly told me well "I'm sorry but you'd still would have to pay for another order". I don't think that's fair at all so I said "it's fine were ok" I don't wanna give this company any more of my money anyway if this is how they treat their customers. Lastly, once we were done with our food and paid the check, the man came back to our table and asked us if there was anything he could do for us and how if we enjoyed our meal this felt like a slap in the face after everything I've already asked of him that he refused and denied and being met with a disingenuous offer just felt petty. All in all, I wouldn't go here if you're looking for food that is not burnt Service that is helpful and hospitable. Andexperience that is anything above fast casual dining.

Not the same Mayflower that I went to growing up but this place did NOT disappoint…read more We were in the mood for dim sum on the way to the T&T grocery store opening and yelp brought us here. We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting! Highly recommend you check this place out for a dine in or take out order!

This is one of the handful of American Chinese restaurants that stood the test of time. As is typical of these places, there was an old lady manning the counter and also acting as the server. And as is typical of these places, there was table at the end where they were prepping the fruits and veggies. It's truly remarkable how they are all similar in these ways! We got a couple of dishes and they came out at lightning speed. * Chowmein-3/5- delicious with lots of umami flavor but shockingly greasy. I mean I am used to oily noodles but this one exceeded some limits. *crispy salt and pepper eggplant-3/5- I had a stellar version of this dish at another restaurant in Sunnyvale and was stoked when I saw this on the menu here. Unfortunately it was a poor representation of the dish I loved there. The batter was too much and the dish felt heavy. The hot oil or sauce they had felt old and extremely vinegary as well, I would recommend avoiding it.
