My wife and I came to Gilbert, AZ for a family party. Her cousin set up a round of golf our first day there and we just took a drive towards their house looking for a place to stop in for breakfast before our golf outing. We found Egg N Joe and stopped in. Wow what a great experience we had from the minute we were greeted and seated to the food they served. Lots of good looking items on the menu that we needed a few extra minutes to decide. Our server was so nice and polite and we enjoyed chatting with her before she got really busy. Our food was so good, the coffee was just what the doctor ordered and the place was so clean. Stopping into the restroom before heading to the golf course found me scratching my head wondering why they were playing Happy Birthday on the music system and also playing it in Spanish as well. I was telling my wife and she just laughed at me saying that during Covid, they said to wash your hands to Happy Birthday to ensure maximum effectiveness. So, I got it but was a bit confused but amused by that event. We would love to see this chain in CA, would make it a regular spot if we found one near home. read more

Look folks .. restaurant business is not easy dealing with the public never is .. but this place on ocotillo and Arizona Ave is awesome ... Been coming here for almost a year... This was our first, but not last, visit here. We were seated promptly and C took amazing care of us. She had our coffee and waters to the table within minutes. Having never been here, we asked her recommendations. C told us the potato pancakes were one of their best sellers and we should get that. They did not disappoint!! There was so much flavor and the portion size (for me) was enough for leftovers! C was amazing and made the experience even more enjoyable. You know when you're excited for a new place, you get weird vibes but still eat there? One of those trust you're instincts... We were seated immediately, waited in immediately & added another star because the only thing our server did wrong was not recognize what was wrong with our meals. The Benedict's were over cooked, yolks were solid and sauce cold. We ordered a side of fruit, it can't be coincide that the bruised pieces were all thrown in face down on the platter. We continue eating but it was one thing after another... We open a half & half creamer that was curdled. Now I get it, they come in big batches & you can't inspect it all but it's just careless mistakes. Everything was ok, mediocre at best. P.s. clearly older folks frequent this restaurant, remind your servers may be hard of hearing... NOT stupid. This breakfast brunch place has some unique menu items that many other valley restaurants don't provide. I have loved many of their menu items and their customer service is always polite and punctual. My hot coffee stays filled and my food has high quality and absolutely delicious. Can't love this place enough for its uniqueness. I've heard it's newer to the valley but they are nailing it. It's a large breakfast place but they handle the busy days very well for its size. It's in a great location and can't wait until it cools down to try their outdoor patio area! The hostess is always kind and greets me with a smile. It's a great way to begin my experience here! We tried this restaurant for the first time today and we were pretty disappointed. We just left not 15 minutes ago. My bacon wasn't even hot, nor was it lukewarm when my food was delivered. I don't care for bacon that's just been sitting out. Our server wasn't the one who dropped off our meals and when she did finally check on us, she ignored both my water and iced tea glasses which were less than 1/3 full at that point. Both myself and my husband had mouths full of food and couldn't ask for more to drink. Very quickly after that she dropped off our bill and never asked if I wanted a refill on my now empty glasses. One of the hosts saw our credit card out and grabbed it as she was walking past. She returned quickly, but just set it down and walked away. Neither time that I said excuse me did she seem to hear and our server never returned so I left, thirsty and irritated. We pulled into Raising Cane's across the street so I could have something to drink. Keeping drinks filled isn't much to ask and is something every server should be aware of. If she was too busy to do that, she should have asked for help. read more

I did enjoy the food it was pretty tasty. It was a chicken fried steak Saturday and today my roommate picked out this place. It was my first visit, probably not my last. The steak was breaded "diffently" than I'm used to but it was ok. The hash browns were ok, a bit greasy. The biscuit was yummy good. The eggs were cooked exactly the way I asked but the egg white was missing, literally mostly gone, this happens sometimes with eggs, but I hate it when it happens to me. Overall it was a good plate. The environment was kinda like a corporate Disney / family like, OK if you have a family with an undisciplined screaming brat, but not ok when you don't wanna hear this before, or after a cup of coffee. Am I crazy here! Last time I was here after they first opened I thought they were pretty good this time was odd the service and everything was okay but the food was just awful, I've never walked away from breakfast with more than half the food on my plate! The most bizarre thing that I couldn't get past was in my breakfast burrito was cut up sausage links like you'd feed a child I've NEVER seen that at a respectable restaurant, I just. Drove by this location a couple of times and decided to try it. So glad we did! The location is very open and clean. We were seated quickly and asked for our drink order right away. We didn't check the menu and went here because we saw pictures of savoury crepes. It turned out they only have sweet berries crepes. Since we went out of our ways and nothing was appealing nearby, we stayed. After looking at an unimpressive menu, we ordered the Ranch breakfast and Dungeness Crap BLT salad. The breakfast was nothing special. You can get this anywhere. I just went here for the first time with the family this morning. Kiddo got the cub pancakes and loved them plus he ate a ton of French fries off of my plate. The kid was super happy and the kids menu/coloring book we above and beyond what I expected. I got the fish and chips and the clam chowder. Both were good, but the fish was a little greasy. Hubs got the club and said it was good. The atmosphere was good and family friendly, but the music was a bit loud which meant my 3 year old was yelling the whole time. Which led to me shushing the whole time. All-in-all it was good food at a good value for the price. We will be back! read more

I could not brag enough about my breakfast! I ordered an omelet that had avocado and salsa on it; it was ammmmmmmaaaazzzzinnnnggg! Seriously it was amazing enough for me to want to go back the next morning. I also got two pancakes with my omelet and they were nice and buttered and tasted like my momma made them. I am trying to figure out if I can make it tomorrow before my flight. Basically I can't say enough about the place. It's accessible for wheelchairs and plenty of seating inside and out. There was a line right after we got seated and it looked like quite a long wait. So if you want to go on a Sunday; try to go before 9:30am. Our service was great; even the person who was cleaning tables said good morning and asked if we liked our food. I wish I could give them a 6 star because I would. My food reviews generally go straight to the meal. This one's different ... as our first visit to Egg 'n' Joe began with CISCO greeting us at the door. He couldn't have been more welcoming and we were immediately seated and coffee / juice tended to. Even before he left, CAROLINA ("C") was there to answer questions about the menu and take our order. 5 stars alone for them making us feel totally "at home" and welcome. Now, will the food hold up to the expectations? I'm totally a breakfast guy. Usually eggs benedict when I go out, but a good omelette can change my mind. Visiting the southwest, avocado makes anything a contender. Home run with the Crabacado Omelette topped with hollandaise! Whoa, that was awesome - and filling. My sister had something equally good, but I was so focused on my own I really didn't pay her any attention. No Egg 'n' Joe's near me ... but I'll be back this fall when I'm in AZ again.
