This place is amazing their food is so good. Being a college student you are always on a budget, but at Eggs Etc you can get a great meal at a low cost. I love coming here with my friends. The only complaint I have is that the service is slow. But, to be honest, my whole experience was tanted by a Groupon fiasco. We've been wanting to try the place, having seen the crowds outside when we drive by. When we spotted a Groupon, we thought it was a great opportunity to go. But they wouldn't take it. According to the restaurant, Groupon messed up.. something about selling too many deals at the wrong price. I'm not sure but I wasn't too happy about it all. Groupon did refund me the money and I'm sure we would've enjoyed the restaurant much more if this hadn't happened. We've been coming here pretty much every weekend for breakfast because it's right up the street from home. We see the same people working there over and over again, but they never make the point to get to know their regular customers. The food is ok, but not as good as Two Umbrellas or the Coffee Cup. The food was delicious. My friend and I both ordered an omelette and we loved them. We were seated as soon as we stepped through the door. Our waitress came over pretty fast and we waited about 10-15 minutes before our food came out, which was good because the place was kinda packed. My complaint is about how rude my waitress was after I asked for grape jelly. She caught a lil attitude and said, we only have strawberry! Then turned and said, we have hot sauce tho! Horrible service from the moment I entered the door. A staff yells I can sit anywhere. As I approach a booth another women yells "only2?" I respond yes. She then tells me I can sit in one of two extremely small tables. I sat and after the drink order came and I had to get up to ask for honey for my coffee, I hit my knee on the metal bar underneath the folding table that I could not avoid with my longer legs. The mediocre tasteless food arrived on plates that barely fit the table. With hot chocolate and coffee mugs, my plate if toast hung over the edge, another couple arrived and was told to sit any, then the same voice yells except the booths in the two corners. The couple later were attempting to steady the rocky table they choose. After which a staffer assisted with saying the floor was crooked. My waitress was nice but the loud staffer, maybe hostess but who knows who does what here, was having a loud discussion about needing a dishwasher, when she mentioned always having had a pool and not having one now, I quickly realized they were not hiring. The food was forgettable even for my five year old who had trouble with his tasteless short stack (I had to taste one to see the problem.) I would like to give it zero stars. read more

The restaurant was simply decorated and service was just ok. The patio looked inviting, but it was a little cold out so we chose to sit inside. I ordered the Popeye's Favorite omelet with a biscuit and gravy on the side. Also comes with home fries which i turned into "spuds" - home fries topped with avocado, sour cream and cheese - amazing! The homemade salsa it comes with added the perfect amount of heat to the omelet. Great choice and a ton of food. The bf ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and wheat toast with homemade strawberry jam. I grabbed a couple bites of the steak which was good, but the homemade jam on toast was awesome. They should definitely sell jars of that. He also added a side of french toast which was warm and soft and very decadent with the butter and syrup. I am definitely a syrup girl and this french toast did not disappoint. Perfect sweet compliment to the breakfast. After all that food and with half wrapped up in a to go box, the waitress came by the table to let us know that we didn't hit the $35 minimum for the restaurant.com coupon! WOW.... so we added on an extra OJ for the road. Can't wait to go back and try the banana pancakes! yum. PS.. we went on a Friday morning and there was no line, we got seated immediately. We walk here regularly for a decent breakfast. These are the best home fries of all the Long Beach diners. My only gripes are that the menu pretty much never changes and the coffee is pretty bad. If you're a diner and you can't get coffee right, then something's wrong. They should take a cue from the Coffee Cup who offers an excellent cup. read more

Eggs Etc. is very close to where I live so it's a great place to grab a quick, delicious bite to eat on the weekend. I've been there a few times and every experience I've had has always been a good one. My most recent trip was just today, family was visiting and sleeping in our living room so I couldn't make a racquet and make breakfast in the kitchen. So instead, I took my one year old son to Eggs Etc. for a Mama and Baby date. We walked up to the restaurant and went through the back entrance where the parking lot is located because that's where the ramp for strollers and wheelchairs is located. We got to sit quickly outside where we wanted to enjoy the day, on busier days and times the staff will seat you. The waitresses were ready to take our drink order and when I was ready five minutes later, they were there for our food order. They had specials for the day and the regular menu, I got the spinach, turkey sausage scramble. It was well cooked, the spinach wasn't too raw and wasn't so overlooked that it was mushy, perfect Id say. It came with home fries, but you also had a choice of toast. And I also got biscuits and gravy, those were ok, but on the same note I only ordered those to give to my husband at home, they aren't my thing. I ordered oatmeal for my son, it comes with milk, raisins and brown sugar on the side so you can add however much you'd like. I didn't like that the raisins and sugar came in premeasured out plastic containers, it's not environmentally friendly, however I get it, you have to be ready for a rush and to have them premeasured makes the most efficient sense. The bill came out in a timely manner, I never felt rushed. The servers were attentive but not overly hovering at our table, they let us enjoy, which is nice. Staff were so sweet to my son which is nice, he's an attention hog so he ate it up. Over all, it was a great experience, maybe we will make it a weekly thing for Sunday mornings. read more

I've been coming here for more than ten years. Although I don't go as often as I used to, I thought i owe them due credit. The staff is wonderful. I like to go places where they know me because I am pretty picky and always ask for my food heated up extra. When I come in, they already know me. My favorite lately has been the Blueberry Pancakes. They are so moist, and mouth watering. Best Blueberry Pancakes by far that I have ever tried. I like that they are always prompt to refill your coffee and love that they offer Flavored creamer because a lot of places don't offer it. I'm looking forward to going back soon. Took the kids for Saturday morning breakfast. They had the eggs Benedict and I had the scramble #3. The 10yr old didn't like his. We ordered his eggs medium but they came out runny. The 12yr old snarfed hers down in record time. Mine was good but a little bland. Atmosphere was pleasant enough. They don't take Amex which was annoying. My opinion is if you're accepting credit cards, accept them all OR at least post as much on the front door. Parking was easy but it was 7am and drizzle dropping. Would we go back? Probably. One of my main criteria for a casual eatery is Dog Friendly. If it is, it's half way there. In Europe, especially in Germany, people take their dogs into almost every restaurant. It's too bad that we can't do that here. Eggs Etc. does have outdoor seating and you can bring your dog with you on the patio. OK, back to the food. I had a Poor Boy. No, it wasn't a Poo Boy. This Poor Boy is a split biscuit with sausage patties on each half, topped with a nice, but somewhat bland gravy. Along with the biscuits & gravy, is some really nice home fried potatoes. There was enough gravy to spoon quite a bit over the potatoes. They were definitely good eats. read more
