I had the pineapple porkchop breakfast and the pineapple on top was the only flavor and thanks to the juice runoff of the pineapple my eggs had a little flavor. The spinach bacon and cheese omelet my daugher got was superbland and flat and the hot sauce she put on that saved the day but the pancakes was a lost cause...ive never had pancakes with no flavor‍..Our server took our order and we never saw him after that , no water refills or "is your food okay, do you need anything"..another server saw us just sitting and she came over to see if we needed anything. Due to bad service i left no tip and did not feel bad about. The left over food was given to a homeless man and it was a lot left over. We were able to avoid the crazy long line by coming at 4:30. Breakfast for supper is always a fun treat while on vacation. Having to order before being seated was annoying, especially with kids in tow. There was a nice view of the ocean fun people watching while we waited for our food. Food wise, my daughter ordered the package sampler and was pleasantly surprised with the mountain of whipped cream. Definitely a meal to share, three giant pancakes that were deliciously fluffy and covered with pineapple, strawberry and coconut. I wouldn't recommend New York streak and eggs. We both got two different plates than the last time we were here and all four plates were somewhere between an 8.7-9.5 out of 10 in our opinion (always room to improve). I'm sure the food here tastes amazing and the staff are very nice but I wouldn't know. I waitlisted twice on my trip and never made it because I waited 2+ hours. This place doesn't have accurate wait times, it will say 60-90 minutes but after 2 hours I'll still be 20th in line. I would suggest accurate wait times, putting a limit on the wait list, and having reservations available instead of FCFS. I'm sure it will be easier on everyone. Hopefully next time I can get a chance to eat here :) read more

Tourist trap.. I live a few blocks away and always seen its really busy. We finally go and try it out since it looked slow today. Upon arrival we notice that its not like other restaurants, the ordering process pretty awkward. While you wait in line to be seated, you read through the menu and order at the host stand. Not a bad concept if you want a high turn over rate for the restaurant, but then again you also pay before sitting down. This is where it starts to go down hill. You pay and then also tip before you even sit down to eat, what restaurant makes you tip before you even get sat...? We ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes for our food which seem normal for most restaurants understandable. Only thing wrong is that we ordered before we sat down, the whole idea is to make service faster. After finally getting most of our food, that was the last time we got any intentional service. Server comes puts our drinks down and walks away, nothing else said or asked. After awhile food comes out, small portion, and a burger that was cooked on the flat top with a weight on top. No taste or flavor, since juices where pressed out while cooking it. Server ended up giving our fries to table next to us, so we ended up getting them after all other food was gone. No refills since servers were non existent or uncaring, seriously they didn't wanna be there either..lol Only thing good about the place is the view of canoes, nice but proves its only for tourists.. Much better going off to Denys if you want a real breakfast, and then save $20 in the process. We went here at 9am on MLK day and there was a 30 minute wait. They don't take reservations or names. Instead you have to wait on a long line and order your food when you finally get to the hostess stand. According to a return customer, you don't have to wait too long before your food comes once seated. This still seems like a pretty inefficient process to me. We got fed up with waiting and decided to order takeout so we could eat on the beach instead. The macadamia pancakes with the coconut syrup were really good and very fluffy. I didn't like the maple or guava syrup as much. The portion size is huge as you get FIVE pancakes. The two of us were sharing and we still couldn't finish them all. We also got Portuguese sausage and scrambled eggs as sides, which was very tasty. I also enjoyed the POG drink and the iced sweetened latte. Even though I enjoyed all the food, I'm not sure it's worth the wait. If I were to return, I would just order takeout 30 min in advance and eat it on the beach. read more

The coconut syrup was my favorite, highly recommend. Downsides to this place are that the line is massive and dining area is small so you won't be seated until someone leaves. You have to order and pay before being seated so you have to make a quick decision food wise. Service was not so great, hard to wave someone down for water. Considering that I'd seen the long lines before, I should've reconsidered coming on an empty stomach. We were staying at a nearby hotel and my husband wanted to try it so we got up early to avoid the breakfast rush. Lets just say we didn't get up early enough. When we arrived there was a long line, but not unbearably long. We were told that it would be 30 minute wait and since it would take 30 minutes to figure out where else we could eat (unless we went to the McDonalds next door) we decided to wait. Once we got to the host about 40 minutes later, he was very nice and polite. We learned the correct way to order from the mistakes of the party before us. We were asked if we'd be dining in or taking out food to go. My husband asked if there were tables available and we were told "Yes, there are tables for available for everyone". That was true, in a sense. After we ordered our food we were given a number and told to pay inside. Then we saw exactly what we were dealing with. There are only about 10 tables and a bar style booth inside, so more than likely you have to wait until a party finishes before you can have a seat. That was about a 20 minute wait, but luckily there was a rather irrational child behind us in line to make the wait more exciting (insert extreme sarcasm here). Finally, a table opened up and we were able to be seated. Considering that we'd been waiting in line for 20 minutes for a table, I thought that maybe we'd eat soon after we were seated. Instead, it seemed like maybe our food order was prepared after we were seated. I've been to enough pancake joints in my life to know that it doesn't take 40 minutes to make flap jacks and scrambled eggs. But another 40 minutes is what it took to get our food. I'd starting seeing mirages of the waiter bringing our food to the table. When the food finally arrived I was three notches past hungry. I got the strawberry pancakes for myself, banana for my husband and silver dollars for my toddler. For the price, the strawberries served could've had a little more life to them. They looked like they'd been thawed, boiled, refrozen and thawed again. Needless to say they were pushed to the side of the dish. I had my first experience with Portuguese sausage and it was really good, wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. My pancakes were good too, but they would've been even better with edible strawberries. My husband enjoyed his meal as well, so there aren't many complaints in that area. Although the food was good, I don't think I'll be going again, at least not to this location.There was far too much waiting: 40 to place the order, 20 for the table and 40 for our food. The food was good, but it's not worth the wait. I'd rather drive to Cinnamon's. I may have to wait be seated, but at least the service is prompt afterwards. So no, I don't recommend going to Eggs n Things Waikiki unless you just ate right before and have time to kill, because you'll certainly be waiting an insane amount of time to be fed. read more

This is/was a staple for breakfast for my wife and I when visiting Waikiki. The greeter at the host stand is super friendly and very nice. He is a Waikiki institution himself. However, the past couple times, this place has been disappointing. For example, this morning the server served out plates to someone at the wrong table, that person touched it and then they tried to serve us the touched food.....gross. There a a pile of food on the floor next to out table, we asked to have it cleaned or swept up. They never did. There was spider webs in the window frames and dust on the wall ledges. All this for food that is ok at best. There was no pride or cleanliness. We have discovered other breakfast places at similar price points. Its time to move on to other places and make our tradition elsewhere. read more
