While perusing other travel sites (namely Travel Advisor) preparing for our honeymoon to Oahu I came across a poster who recommended this nifty little spot and I can't thank that anonymous poster enough. It was great, it was so much so that on our seven day stay in Waikiki this was the only establishment we visited twice! It was just a short walk from our hotel, Sheraton Waikiki, and every step was worth it. If you are a fan of the mom and pop shops, this is for you, if you expect Denny's or ihop or some chained restaurant that your accustomed to in the mainland then you may just want to stay at your hotel and hit the breakfast buffet. From our experience, take advantage of jet lag and get their early, it seems even the foreign visitors are in the know about this place. It was very impressive to see an African-American host that was speaking fluent Japanese explaining to the throng of Japanese tourist that are also eager to try the place. So the wait can be long at times if you happen to catch it on the wrong time in the morning but well worth your time. I'm by no means a self proclaimed foodie but my taste buds aren't exactly limited to sweet, sour, and bland - the food was great. For the visits I tried the two versions of Loco Moco and it was very fulfilling. The difference from one version is one of them comes with sautéed onions and mushrooms (Hawaiian) while the other is a standard one. Regardless, both of them did a masterful job of letting me enjoy my breakfast taste buds. The wife ordered Spam and Eggs both times with a side of Portuguese sausage which she practically inhaled both times. The prices were reasonable and the service was top notch. This is a definitely a priority when we come back to Oahu. read more

Pros: 1. FRESHLY SQUEEZED POG Juice. This was surprisingly hard to find in Hawaii, even at upscale places like the Grand Wailea, so major props here. Also, it's only 4 bucks. The place down the street tried to sell me POG-flavored sugar water for 4 bucks. Didn't fall for that after EnT! 2. Yeah, in case you haven't heard, the pancakes here are the biz-nass. Coconut syrup? Got seated much quicker than before since I was suggested to take upstairs patio which was perfect because of the breeze , although no nice view but breakfast was delicious and plenty. the wait area downstairs looked so cute and modern, then you go upstairs to the more traditional coffee shop dining area with wobbly chair leg the wait was long, about 25 minutes - portuguese sausage omelet, it was like a layer of rubbery flat egg covering over tasteless portuguese sausage (PS). I don't remember PS being tasteless side of pancakes was not that pretty picture of powdered sugar pancakes on yelp, it was plain; the Haupia syrup helped a bit, the Guava syrup was too thin to help - DH has a pretty dry pork chop with no flavor - the coffee tasted like burnt rubber surrounded by something - I can't remember what the girls had, think C had the loco moco I was sad I didn't go back to Goofy's after a pretty good experience. read more

There is no better place to go have some munchies after a night of drinking. I always get their crepes filled with blueberries and sour cream. YUMMY! Don't forget to add a side of spam please! Eggs and Things is always worth the wait, but honestly if you go in the late hours of the evening it isn't so bad. Its the ten am crowd on a Saturday that gets screwed. Macadamia pancakes are yummy. Prefer guava syrup over coconut. Minced sausage, spam and scrambled eggs are alright. Food was good but I'm not sure about the service.....Our old lady sever kept bumping into me. I think the second time was on purpose. She did not even apologize. I'm not a pancake fan at all. But since everyone was raving about their Macadamian Nut Pancake, I had to try it. It was actually one of the best pancakes I ever had. You can use their guava syrup, or coconut syrup with it. I ordered a canadian bacon omlette, but for some reason my mind went blank and I was expecting bacon not ham. DUH! One of the first places we have tried on our trip. The atmosphere is nice, the staff was pleasant but the food was over priced. We got an omelette and three pancake combo, a side of bacon, and a French toast and it was over 40$ for two people. The portions are huge and the selection is mind-boggling. We went to Eggs 'N Things on a Wednesday morning, the last day of our trip to Oahu. My fiance and I went with two other folks and we all had a good experience. I had the Benedict Florentine (wilted spinach and mushrooms) with a side of pancakes (a big stack of three) and my fiance had the Loco Moco, our friends had the Eggs Benedict with a side of rice and an a huge omelet with a side of home fries. We all shared a side of papaya and pineapple, too but I think we would have been more than ok without them. Warning---long wait. Be patient. Other than that, this place was awesome. I ordered the Portuguese sausage, eggs, and macadamia nut pancakes. My fiancee ordered eggs benedicts with rice. The sausages were amazing. I tasted them at a different diner at another place but it's not as good as here. They compliment my fiancee's rice so well that I just ate all of his. In addition, the pancakes were sooo fluffy and good. We tried their special coconut and guava syrup on the pancakes and it's awesome. This is definitely a great breakfast joint to go when visiting Hawaii. They're opening another location closer to the Waikiki hotels along the beach. I loved how we were able to get seating pretty fast on a busy night. I was starting to get hungry and a little frustrated at all the wait time for dining @ several other restaurants. But the food came out decently fast and the service was ok. I ordered the scrambled eggs w/ pancakes and a half a papaya. The price is pretty cheap for Waikiki standard. They have coconut syrup! *Disclaimer* We were tourists and we believed everything a local told us. Now with that being said we first heard about this place from our driver that picked us up from the airport. He said it was the best and that there's always a line. True. We tried this place one evening and here's what happened I ordered some pancakes and an omelet, my daughter just wanted macadamia pancakes, then my husband orders another omelet but he wants his pancakes with blueberries...sure no problem per the cashier, then I said well if your getting blueberries, then I want bananas...sure no problem. Well there wasn't a problem until he gave me our total...over $65 dollars for some panacakes and 2 omelets. I was beside myself. The blueberries and bananas cost us over $13! I don't mind spending money on food, but $65 for some pancakes is a bit too much to swallow. Our order came out on paper plates and disposable utensils. The food was decent for a $40 dollar price tag, but nothing great. I was so excited when seeing a long line of Japanese tourist waiting for a table. I said to myself, this place must be very good. Yelp had great reviews and the locals said it is their favorite. I visited this place when it used to be on Kalakaua Ave. in Waikiki and just around the corner from where I had stayed, so I hit this place every morning. I tried the pancakes, eggs, portuguese sausage, waffles and of course, SPAM...don't hate!! It's a local thing and I grew up eating spam, eggs 'n rice. Everything I had at this place was delicious and they pile on the whipped cream over the pancakes and waffles! It reached my chin after they placed my plate on the table. The only thing is the long wait to get seated since it's a popular tourist spot for breakfast. Don't forget to have a cup of house coffee (Kona, of course). This is for the location at Saratoga; my wife and I ate here at about 9:45 am on a Sunday. The wait wasn't bad- around 15-20 min as promised. We ordered the pancakes with Macadamia nuts (used coconut syrup on half, guava syrup on the rest) and Hawaiian Moco Loco, and they were both delicious. Our server recommended Tabasco sauce for the Moco Loco, and he was right. We had noticed the hit-or-miss reviews for this place, and made a point to select local-style dishes. What can I say...I was a little hesitant to try it because of some of the negative reviews...but let me put your mind at ease. This place was great! Even though we didn't go with 5star expectations, since it is a small place, and in the heart of Waikiki, I feel that my entire family enjoyed a 5star experience. They are amazing even though they are busy. You'll get great food without making you feel rushed out. Some of my favorite things were the macadamia pancakes (nuts cooked throughout, not just sprinkled on top), and this surprised me because I'm just not a pancake person. I'll eat buckwheat pancakes occasionally. The coconut and guava syrup was beyond description, so delicious! My entire party drooled over their home style fried potatoes. Perfectly crispy on the outside, and melt in your mouth inside. We don't usually all like omelets because they can be dry or just too eggy, however these were amazing. Super thin moist egg blanketed a jumbo sized portion filling. The first time we ate there we all ordered individually and came back to our hotel with left over's. The next 2 times we all split. My husband and I ate and loved the turkey bacon, potato and cheese omelete and upgraded to mac pancakes. I guess I was disappointed with people saying that this was overrated. I can tell you I am a regular of IHOP and have not had food like this. The prices were reasonable ($9 - $12) albeit in Waikiki, and yes there is a wait, and yes you have to walk up some stairs...but come on people, you experience this anywhere you go. Okay, I have to mention we had fun meeting people from all over the world, taking pics with their pancakes and talking about the different places they've been or were planning to go. Wow, I cannot believe that tourists and some locals fall for this place. The food is definitely not the worth the price they charge. Their hotcakes where chewy and slightly dry. The Loco Moco sauce is made from instant gravy. Their egg omelette that my friend tried tasted of pasteurized processed cheese and margarine. The egg itself was so thin, we suspected it might be fake egg beaters? The atmosphere is cramped, cramped, and more cramped. When it gets really busy they try to fit three on a tiny two seater, and then they will fit just two on an uncomfortable counter overlooking the street where birds fly in and out as soon as a plate is left unattended. A definite sanitation issue. The noise from the loud buses and trolley's are also very annoying. The most shocking experience is when we went up to pay at the register. Can you believe that the clerk actually told us what the tip should be and if I were going to give it to her or just leave it on the table. Yowzers! Locals, please avoid. Tourists, find someplace where you don't have to spend 45 minutes waiting for a cramped seat, getting subpar food and then dealing with a presumptiousclerk? Find a relaxing place where you can enjoy the views and not hear the hustle and bustle of busy Waikiki. At the Hale Koa hotel close by you can get a decent breakfast at the outside cafe for about half the cost and still enjoy beautiful and quiet views. read more

And this is comparing local and mainland restaurants. Smoky flavor with veggies (mushrooms, celery, bean sprouts, green onions) kamaboko, portuguese sausage, spam=ONO! Crab cake Benedict - tasty. Hawaiian Loco had mushrooms and onions added - yummy- but burger little too well done. Omelette sizes were very generous. Coffee was bottomless and flavor as good as aroma.
