Really wanted to love this place as it has been on my list for a while now. However, I was disappointed. Off my first experience, I'd say this place is overhyped. We ordered the Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches. I was expecting more from the brioche bun - could probably get a similar brioche from the grocery store. Appreciated the amount of bacon but it was way too salty. And now the egg - I was so excited to try the sandwich that I overlooked the eggs. The sandwich comes with an over medium egg however, I wanted scrambled eggs as this is what they're known for. The current menu did not list that you can substitute the egg to be scrambled. The cashier did not mention anything about any substitutions either. Overall, the sandwich was meh and underwhelming. Appreciate that the OJ is freshly made but it was too tart for my taste. The upside to the meal and the star of the show was the truffle hash brown. Pricey for only 6 pieces but honestly these are the best hash browns I have ever ate. Extra crispy and the seasoning is on point - I was more surprised with these than the actual sandwich! Location is very small. They have a handful of tables and they're all jammed right next to each other. No wiggle room. Might get lucky with a table, but it might be better to order takeout and eat at the beach or on the walk to. Plus, parking is difficult. And no bathroom even for paying customers. In all, I was let down but I may give Eggslut one more try. It was just okay. read more

This is my must stop place every time I am in LA. It is just such a comforting breakfast place for me and the egg sandwiches are just to die for. They have multiple different locations around LA - and there is usually a line every time that I have been here but the line usually goes by super fast and they make all the sandwiches super fresh after you order. My go to order is Bacon, egg and cheese - the brioche bun itself is so soft and buttery. The egg is mildly over easy so the yolk does leak out when you bite into it but it's not super yolk-y where you make a mess of eating it. The bacon is perfectly crispy and all the flavors of this sandwich is just to die for. They do have other items on their menu but that sandwich is definitely my favorite - for those who do not want any meat in their breakfast sandwich they do have egg and cheese sandwiches as well. My friend tried their egg salad one which she said was just alright but not her favorite compared to the bacon egg and cheese. As this is located just off Venice Beach's Windward Avenue (which has the hanging Venice sign), the surrounding street, lot, and garage parking all charge for use. Very atrocious parking on a weekday late morning, and a lot of cars circling around trying to find availability. When we finally managed to park on the metered street parking on Windward Ave, all the meters along the street were actually broken. Everybody who parked there that day got ticketed despite paying. While the most well-known Eggslut location in LA is the one inside Grand Central Market, this was the closest to LAX. Convenient if you want to fit in a visit before getting on your flight. They have a bathroom, but it's for employees only. So if you're planning on coming here, bring your own hand wipes especially if you're going to get any of the sandwiches. What we ended up doing is using Teddy's Red Tacos' restroom since we also wanted to get birria tacos before flying out. For those in the Bay Area, it's similar to Egghead Cafe (which is probably inspired by Eggslut). Mainly a casual brunch takeaway place based around eggs, and they have vegetarian options or can make an item vegetarian. For deliveries, they work with UberEats and Postmates, and they have the corresponding UberEats link on their site. They have a few specials that they'll advertise with signs in-store, but won't show up on the main menu or online. No outdoor seating, a bit of indoor seating with small tables and counters along the wall and window. Whether you're able to get seating depends on the time of day as they have brunch/lunch rushes with huge lines that make it very crowded inside. It's just an overall tight space for the number of people they get/how popular they are. Definitely would not suggest it to those who are uncomfortable with being in close quarters with a lot of people in a small, enclosed space. Overall, glad to finally try it out. My brother has been wanting to try this place out since he saw the news about it in 2011. So finally getting to try it after TEN YEARS was cool. The Truffle Hashbrowns were pricey and small, but really tasty and the Slut egg mousse was my favorite. It was a good last breakfast before leaving LA. read more

Came here a while ago and got the Fairfax sandwich and it was just as delicious as the photos look! I don't eat meat so it's the perfect menu item; I recommend adding avo. Definitely worth the try, I'd come more often if I lived nearby. The place itself is a bit dingy tbh but it's next to the beach and there's some other cool shops around. The seating is def a bit uncomfortable and since it's a small place it gets crowded easily. But the staff was kind! The eggs were so soft and buttery, and the brioche bun was fresh. Parking in Venice is kind of chaotic but there's metered and residential options in the area. This Eggslut location is pretty small with the counter to order and some seating inside. The line wraps on the outside of the building usually since it's smaller. I got the sausage breakfast sandwich with light aioli and added avocado. I'd heard a lot about Eggslut so was excited to try it, but found it pretty average. It's an easy counter service breakfast and there really are no frills so it's simple, but it didn't blow me away. Even with light aioli it still felt pretty greasy which was fine, but overall nothing to write home about. The truffle tots were very very good though so 10/10 recommend those! Overall it was a fine breakfast option and the price is about average for a breakfast sandwich, but I expected a little more from a place with so much positive press. read more

I went three times during the week and a half (a four day trip and a six day trip) I spent in LA last month. I saw the sign while I was taking a walk and with a name like that I couldn't not go in. I didn't know what chipotle ketchup was before going, and thought it was weird for ketchup to be on a breakfast sandwich, but I loved it, and I love taking photos of the sign. Honestly the hype is worth it. The food and service was amazing. I did go on a Tuesday after Labor Day and the line was not bad at all. About 5 people were in front of me but the line moved fast. I did notice the music was blaring but It wasn't a huge let down in my opinion. The space is small so grabbing a table might be hard on the weekends.
