Einstein Bros might be my new favorite bagel spot in Irvine! I haven't tried their Classic or Signature bagels yet, but a simple bagel with a flavored cream cheese has been my go-to breakfast. Their garden cream cheese is so good! All bagels come out super soft and baked fresh daily. I also recommend their Morning Mocktails. It's a nice change from your typical orange juice. I never write reviews on Yelp, but my experience ticked me off so much that I felt the need to write one. I ordered a sausage egg and cheddar bagel, and told the cashier my name. Repeated it twice and she still got it down wrong. My name isn't that hard. How do you get Tajin (tah-gin) from Sunny??? At least repeat the name back to me so that I can correct you. I sat there waiting for my bagel but they never called my name (they kept repeating Tajin). On top of that, the staff calling out the names was so quiet you could barely hear him. I went up to the counter to get an update on my bagel, and they asked for my name and order. They realized they put in the wrong name, didn't apologize, and gave me the cold bagel that was sitting there, without offering to reheat or remake it. I have to admit this place has both indoor and outdoor seating super friendly service and a great rewards program so I started off with the six cheese bagel, toasted and cream cheese that seemed only arouse my appetite since it was lunchtime I had to have more so I came back and I got the pepperoni pizza bagel. It was worth it inside. Seating is nice. Music is great and the place smells absolutely delicious all the way through outdoor seating is nice and tranquil because it's recessed back from the parking lot so you don't have to deal with all the car sounds the pepperoni pizza bagel was super delicious. Surprised to see all the low ratings for this Einstein. I used to go here all the times when I used to live in Irvine because my daughter loved their bagel with butter & jelly when she was younger. But I haven't been here for a while since I moved away and also trying to limit my carbs intake. We recently had Einstein bagels for breakfast and they were as good as I remember. I like to toast it for a few minutes so the top layer is a bit crispy but the dough is still nice and chewy on the inside. Extra yummy with some cream cheese spread. read more

Einstein Bagels is a bagel chain that has been around since the '90s. I usually get a cranberry or hash brown bagel with schmear. Their bagels are baked fresh daily, although they are not as soft as some places. It's convenient and they also have specials on Mondays. I believe you can get a Baker's Dozen- 13 bagels and schmear for $20.50. Individual bagels are around $2.89 each and with schmear around $6. They also sell doggie bagels for $2 each so if you have a dog, that would be a nice treat! Our dog loves the bagels from here! There is plenty of seating inside and tables outside where you can enjoy your bagels. Customer service is good although some of the staff members have a hard time understanding sometimes as English is not their first language. Happy eating! read more

I went in for a bagel on my way to work and immediately noticed the worker talking rudely to a delivery driver. The entire time I was checking out the menu, she kept repeating the same thing and getting frustrated with the driver. I normally love coming to Einsteins but this time around it was a bit disappointing. I came in over the weekend just past 9am and several bagel flavors were already sold out. I asked if there were more Green Chili bagels in the works but was told no. I was surprised that this early in the mid morning, they'd already stop making so many flavors. I ended up getting the Farm House on the Cheddar Jalapeño bagel. The overall taste was very good, however, the jalapeños on the bagel looked as though they'd all but one fallen off because it was still stained from the jalapeño previously being on it. As for the restaurant itself, it was very clean and there were works actively toweling off the counter tops by the hot coffee. Acted like they didn't want to be there AND it's Dec it was 53 degrees outside the restaurant was an ICE BOX!! Staff had coats on and it was warmer outside than inside. I went this past Sunday morning at 9:30 to buy a baker's dozen but they were out of several bagels including PLAIN. I was told my only option was to wait for bagels to finish baking, but was not given a time frame. First, I would imagine that weekend mornings are their busiest times and they should plan for this. It seems very poor planning to be low or out of basic varieties of bagels that early. Second, the cashier showed little to no concern for the issue. Truly not sure how this place has so few stars, the service here has been amazing every time despite this being such a crowded spot in the mornings. You're greeted by a chorus of welcomes as soon as you walk in the door and the cashiers are friendly and courteous. Even on busy days I've never waited more than 5 minutes for my bagel order. My wife and I recently started eating Brueggers and have had it about 3 times each and absolutely LOVE IT. We always go the same location off Alton Parkway. Before I give my review on the food, I want to give a big shoutout to the GM Raymond Kletke. He was extremely professional explaining a situation with payment and we had a awesome conversation about other things. Far as the food, we have to say Brueggers is more refined far as tasted and even quality. The bagels were extremely hard to where "BOTH" of our jaws were hurting from the excessive chewing. The sandwich was ok but was underwhelming. It lacked a depth of flavor and even the texture of the bacon was extra chewy. The hashbrown lacked flavor all together where I didn't even finish it. The only thing I felt tasted decent was the blueberry muffin which is saddening being that that's not intended to be the standout of the meal. But my wife didn't eat hers because was too sweet (she said it tasted like breakfast cereal). I admit, I started to give this a 2-3 at first but when I watched my wife struggle to bite into her bagel and after few minutes she said her jaw was hurting as well, I had to be honest. Also, they don't take anything such as PayPal, Cashapp or payments to that nature (even though Brueggers does) I got charged twice and have to wait for bank releases the hold of funds back into my account. The price for everything was GREAT even though the quality wasn't and because I have the app, I get rewards we can be used at Brueggers as well. I'm hoping this reaches management and higher up to improve quality, because their sister restaurant is 10 times better or some form of action taken. read more
