I came to this place to celebrate my mothers birthday, and she loved it. The food was delicious, she got chicken fajitas and she said it was fantastic! I got the chicken quesadillas and they were super good. My sister got ceviche she said "it was so delicious" and my brother got quesabirrias and he said they were very flavorful and amazing! The aguas frescas were really good , and they are natural too! We would be coming back to this place again with our family and friends. The restaurant was clean and it was a nice environment. My friends and I visited on Friday, June 12, to watch the USA vs. Paraguay soccer game. We decided to visit the restaurant because of its Instagram post promoting a "watch party." We arrived and were greeted by a hostess who was friendly and polite. We asked to move to a table closer to a TV, and they accommodated us. The restaurant had a live band playing, and we assumed the music would stop when the game started. We asked a male employee, who appeared to be the manager, about the band. He said he didn't know who had hired them and that they would continue playing. Unfortunately, the staff also couldn't find the TV remote, and the game stopped playing on the screen. We ended up leaving to watch the game at a neighboring business. Maybe it was the first time the restaurant had hosted a watch party, but it was still disappointing. read more

I love it when I try a new place and it rocks, and this place pretty much rocked! The ambiance walking in kind of felt like traditional roadhouse meets Mexican restaurant, just with a bit more listenable music. I can't tell you how many times one of said "I love this song" when a new song came on! Our service was excellent in every way. While we had a server ( Daijah) they adopt a team concept and take care of their customers. We also had the manager/owner, our server, and another employee all ask us if everything was good and if we needed anything. We order the Chili Con Queso, Chili Relleno, and a Crispy Taco Plate. 1. Chile relleno- the menu says 2, but only one arrived. Excellent, cheesy, great salsa. 2. Salad was big. Good lettuce. Hated the tiny tomato pieces all over it, in little 1/3 inch squares. 3. Tostada Chips-standard restaurant style. Meh. 4. Salsa for chips-all I tasted was watery tomato paste and salt. Very standard. Probably came in a bottle. 5. Guiso- perfect, tender, delicious, loved it. 6. Service- perfect, friendly, smiling service from Ruben! Tea refills right on time. The other large Hispanic guy was not friendly, no eye contact, mumbles, yanked my plate off the table with food still there, and was mopping the floor while customers were dining. Took my full basket of chips from the table and just left the half full salsa bowl. Weird. 7. Atmosphere- plain, almost no decoration, a few Mex Knick knacks here and there, very basic but very clean. Appreciated the clean bathroom. Lots of loud TVs like a sports bar competing with loud canned Mexican music, which was a surprise since not a single diner was Hispanic on both my visits. Sigh. Just lots of noise. Prices- Guacamole is very expensive, as is queso. Dinners are reasonably priced in the plus or minus $20 range. Verdict- I'll try it again. Really liked the unique dishes, but for regular old TexMex Chuy's is great and has better prices. read more

This is a quaint upscale Mexican restaurant. The restaurant's coziness warmth and lighting relaxes you and puts you at ease. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Since it is a newer restaurant there did seem to be a bit of confusion with our waiter. Not sure if he had too many tables to wait on, but he was not as attentive as he could have been. Overall the food was flavorful and well seasoned. Their happy hour had a variety of food and drinks. Good selection for a happy hour. It definitely helps to offset the prices. Service is top notch! The food was pretty good. There are a lot of options ranging from authentic Mexican to Tex-mex to steak. I'd love to go back and try more of the items. The food arrived hot and the presentation was beautiful. The prices are a bit more than we expected so just know that when you plan a night here. It wasn't busy at all when we came in. I'm sure the weekends are busier but I liked it because we were able to get a seat at the bar and interact with the bartender who was super friendly and helpful. Our server that was also helping us was extremely nice and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back to sample more items. I do recommend this restaurant. read more

It is probably a good place for the locals to go to but NO, there are a lot of Tex Mex places better than this. The food was okay. The service was not good at all but I've had worst. The Price - 3 Stars: ~$80 before tip. Not much of a "Happy Hour" considering we had 4 people with only 3 entrées. The Vibes - 3 Stars: I have always found this area interesting. It is nestled in a small shopping center just a small block off Beltline. Easy to miss and the shopping center has had its rotation of businesses. Thought this was going to become my family's new fave tex mex place, but after my most recent visit, my whole opinion of this place has changed. Yes, the meat is good. Their rice and beans need work. Their rice has no flavor and kinda on the hard side. The beans are bland. I have been there multiple times and from day one, they offered to make a special order for bean and cheese nachos appetizer. We took them up on it each time. However, each time, they charged a different price for it. They also served it with guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream each time, and included it in the price. However, the last time, they charged for the guac, pico and sour cream, close to $7. The crazy thing is that EVERY single time I would go, I would always make it very clear I wanted NO sour cream at all, but they still put it on my plate EVERYTIME. It's as if they have no communication between ordering and back of house. The last time I was there, I was in a hurry to leave so I could go to work, and was waiting on the check. We're watching out server and she was just texting on her phone for close to 10 minutes, not even paying attention to us. Needless to say, my family will not be returning here at all. read more

The ambiance was nice too, they had good music playing and after 8pm they dimmed the lights, which gave it an upscale feel, I felt like if I was dinning in uptown Dallas. Honestly it's hard to find a good authentic Mexican restaurant in Texas, especially in Richardson TX. There are some good hole in the wall places in Dallas but this place is as good if not better and close to home. I definitely recommend this place. read more

We were hoping that this will be our new go to Mexican food place, but sadly we were disappointed. The previous reviewer is correct. It is loud, very loud and it smelled slightly of being mopped with the rancid mop. We were told that it was happy hour, but you can only have happy hour prices if you sit at the bar or one of the high tops. I said please tell your manager that we don't like that policy, with a smile. I did not anticipate the owner being really defensive and rude about it when he came to the table. I thought the bartender was the owner and when he said he was the bartender, asked to see the manager. I'm used to owners or managers wanting feedback from their clients so that they can have a window into how several people might be feeling. I understand, it's not always the most pleasant but it's always valuable and people only say something if they genuinely want you to succeed and care enough to share their thoughts. He had good reasons for his policy but he kind of a jerk about it. We thought well, maybe the food is delicious and we can overlook this. Sadly, two of our three dishes were completely mediocre, bordering on just not good. The other one was quite delicious. The waiter, bartender and hostesses were lovely but the owner and the food ruined it for us. We do have one recommendation... The grilled pineapple margarita was delicious and refreshing! We wish them luck but we'll go back to Gabrielle and Sophia's and Mi Cocina. read more

My boyfriend went with the beef enchiladas, and he loved every bite. The drinks were just as impressive my spicy margarita on the rocks hit the perfect balance of heat and freshness, and the cucumber ranch water was crisp and refreshing. We enjoyed our first time so much that we came back again on a Sunday afternoon and this time, Eric took care of us from start to finish. He's incredibly friendly, hospitable, and talented at what he does. His cocktails are next level; he takes classic drinks and puts his own creative twist on them. Following his recommendation, we tried the Plato Cancún with a mix of chicken and beef fajitas, and it was absolutely delicious. One last highlight I can't forget the homemade corn tortillas. They're fresh, warm, and the perfect complement to every dish. Overall, Las Lomas isn't just good it's excellent. I asked if there was HH. Server told me "only at the bar" We couldn't sit at bar as we have children. Then I look at menu and it says HH at high tops and bar. So I go to server saying we can just sit at high top tables. He tells me to hold on let me see what manager says. . The manager comes over with arms crossed and very rude. Says "yeah?" And I start to talk. He tells me that the server told me I was "demanding" HH. The shock on my face. The place was dead. Lockwood was packed. Should tell you the difference in their customer service.
