I reached out to the manager at el hefe about a section for my birthday. We agreed upon $400 with two bottles included. I paid an $83 deposit which is supposed to be included in the amount. I was unaware that they charge a gratuity fee when I showed up because I was not informed. During my time there, they gave up my section acting like I wasn't there anymore when all I had done was went to the dance floor knowing they still had my debit card and ID. They tried to make it up by adding an additional bottle. After they removed me from the place for falling over my friend's foot on accident, they tried to have me sign the receipt. I totally believe I was discriminated against because they tried saying they were watching me all night when I was not doing anything wrong. Furthermore, once the receipt was showed to me, a charge for $500 with taxes and gratuity was applied with no deposit to show for. I refused to sign the receipt and we left. The next day I reached out to the manager and asked for an itemized receipt showing what all I was being charged for and I never heard back. This place is very unprofessional and I would be careful doing business with them.

Great spot for a quick drink! My friend and I ordered the green tea shooters and they were solid. I also loved the ambiance of El Here. We were there towards 10PM so it definitely got a lot more crowded and our seats got taken away because they had to leave more room for people. The service was a little slow, but it makes sense for a very crowded Saturday night. Overall great vibes and music, and I would return again!

This place was recommended by the locals here in Scottsdale and it's great! They have a full bar with a wide variety of signature drinks. The chilaquiles did not disappoint as it came out fresh and hot, it was very flavorful! This place turns into a bar/club during the evening as well which is an added plus. Our server was really nice and helpful, she also kept checking on us which is always nice. Definitely recommend visiting this old town Scottsdale spot!

Came here with 6 other girls for a bachelorette trip and we had the most fun! We had a table and our host james.nightlife made sure to take care of us and made sure we were having fun all night. Recommend for a night out or bachelorette.

What's worse than rude staff and a dirty place? How about $12.00 for a Corona bottle. Yes, literally $12.00. And what's worse than that?? How about a silly "Venue fee" of 4% added to every check. Huh?!?! So you get screwed twice. As if the $12 00 Corona wasn't enough profit, then need the extra 48 cents too. Stop with the rip off pricing and even dumber fake fees. What a bunch of boneheads running this place. read more

They have a 1 and 2 lb box of street tacos you can get that my partner and I absolutely love! It comes with all the fixings. We have only sat in the restaurant once and it was fine, nothing extraordinary but it also wasn't lacking. Great happy hour and food! Callie (sp?) was awesome and took great care of us! We were there on a Thursday which was not busy early because it's ONE THOUSAND DEGREES outside, lol. She was excellent, knowledgeable and quick. We shared several things. Macho Nachos with chicken tinga and some different tacos with a side of rice. All delish. The margs were great. I came by here on a Saturday night during my visit in Scottsdale. I got in without any issues and was impressed that there was no cover charge. The music was mainly top 40s which was what I would mainly listen to. I didn't think it was as busy and it was nice to be able to move around and enjoy the place. The bar was packed with people all around and it took a while for me to get a drink. I ordered a Tito's with soda and it was around $12 per drink. I thought it was pretty high but it was probably normal for the area I was in. Overall, I had a good time and may come back for the music. I would personally like to go to a place with cheaper drink prices. read more

Went to El Hefe with my brother for New Years and was greeted by the wonderful staff. DJ was lit the vibes were high. One of the girls Presley helped us right away recommending the margarita and it was delicious! Very attentive and friendly. 10/10 recommend if you're into the club scene. read more

A big group of us girls came here to celebrate a big bachelorette weekend. Everything was going well until a USED BLOODY TAMPON showed up on the floor next to the bar. The staff was obviously just as disturbed about the bloody tampon as we were, but they made absolutely no effort to clean up the issue. Took at least 10 minutes to get the tampon swept up, in the meantime the servers were happy to deliver bottle service etc. Then a good few more minutes to clean up the blood on the floor. I manage a restaurant and if something like that were to happen, I would swiftly take care of it. Not let it sit there for all of my customers to see. Seemed like a very "not my job, not my problem" situation. So glad my team would literally never let that happen. read more

So me and some friends stopped here on a Friday night around 7:30 for dinner. Well all they had was 3 different types of taco's and nachos on there menu. That was a total drag apparently we got there too late. So I got a few taco's and beers and that was it. Taco's were small and way over priced for there size. I did enjoy watching the Laker game and the service was ok, but not a good choice if your hungry on a Friday night. More of a club atmosphere here. read more

This place deserves 5 stars because of how tasty the tacos are (make sure you order them with corn tortilla, trust me on this because i love flour tortilla) and the huge margaritas! They also have cool restrooms perfect for a quick selfie. I had a great experience here but I couldn't take my eyes off a dirty margarita glass with someone's lip print on it hanging from the bar. It was funny but gross. I would still go back because of the tasty food and drinks, but hopefully it's cleaner next time. read more

I visited this place with my wife last week. Arrived around 10 pm. I opend a bar tab and around 1am i was ready to leave. I asked the bartender to close my tab out. She ran my card and told me my card did not go through. Since i had been having troubles with my card i didnt question it. I asked for the total and she told me $306. So i gave her $350 cash to include tip. After coming back home to California i realized my card had been charged. I have been trying to get in contact with anyone at el hefe by phone but no one is ever available and it prompts you to leave a message. I have not received a call back. Decided to post this so that other people do not get scammed this way. Im sure i am not the only person they have done this to read more

Prateek was the best host we had. We met him through his instagram account @scottsdalebottleservices. He gave my group the best table and was always available for our group. He hosted other bachelorette groups too making our Sunday day time fun and exciting. This place is a scam. We ordered bottle service and they would dump our alcohol into shots/spill on the table. They would then lock the bottle so we couldn't pour a drink. Then someone would come and "clean up" the half filled shots so that we would run out of alcohol faster and they can charge us for another bottle. We probably only got to drink about 1/4 of each bottle ordered. Be careful guys. read more

Returned after a long break for Taco Tuesday. The menu has never changed in like four years and the taco choices, although fairly priced on Tuesday, are not that special. Granted, I don't like many meats, but no normal chicken or chopped carne asada varieties in sight. They still have the free guac and chips check-in which is worth 8 bucks. I added two rather basic ground beef tacos for $2 each (normally $4) and they were fine, just not memorable. The beer prices for happy Hour are great though as 3 bucks will get a domestic draft. read more

This is something we have ordered frequently in your establishment, most recently on March 8th, 2026. Every time we have purchased this, the Wycliff bottles have been $25. This means that we should receive 2 bottles for $25.01 based on the special listed on your menu. When we received the check, we were charged $50.01 for the 2 bottles. We pointed out the mistake to the bar tender who said the price was correct. We informed her that we have come here approximately once/month for the last year and the cost has never been $50 for a bottle of Wycliff. She asked another employee to come over and we explained the same issue to her. She (we did not get her name) said she has been a Manager there for several years and that has always been the price. I told her we have ordered this special over the last year and we would never pay $50 for a bottle of Wycliff. She refused to adjust our check. I asked her to show me on a menu where a bottle of Wycliff costs $50. Of course, she was not able to do that because it doesn't exist. We generally are very generous with our tip, as we consider this a good deal and the staff is usually great. - I have attached a copy of the receipt. We would like to continue to frequent Mother Tuckers, as we have always had a good time and like to bring friends visiting from out of town. There was a Mexican food truck in the parking lot. Drinks (4/5): I love trying local brews. At breweries, I typically get a flight so I can try out a variety of beers. This time though, I went with a pint. I couldn't say no to the Sour Rangers. I grew up watching the Power Rangers, so that was all the motivation I needed. An added bonus was that this beer is a sour. Not something you have every day, nor a style of beer that you come across very often. So I had to take advantage of the opportunity. My husband and friend enjoyed their beer flights and since I don't drink beer, I was happy to see a cooler with wine and other options such as white claw, etc. the beer was poured directly from the fermenter tank. The staff were very friendly and explained they had to open the wine bottle and make the first pour which was fine with me. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

Random discrimination has been an ongoing issue in the state of Arizona on top of an already existing and prevalent religious, ethnic and gender-based discrimination. On a casual Sunday evening (4/27/14) after participating in a golf tournament at a nearby resort, a group of us decided to visit one of our old and frequent spots to drink and eat. One of us got told by a bouncer that we could not enter after already letting us in due to having cross training shoes on with red laces (New $125 shoes that were worn by a member of our group to play golf since he couldn't locate his proper golf shoes). Our group had mostly professionals in it with tech geeks, doctors, attorneys and small business owners etc...and we were ready to spend after a rough work week (you get the idea). The bouncers themselves were wearing cheesy vans/converse looking shoes on without socks while letting in people ahead of our group that had a myriad of odd looking attire and shoes on such as tang tops, flip flops and skater looks (which I have nothing against, but used as an argumentative point of comparison to no avail). We had just closed out a $1,200+ tab at a nearby bar (Hi5) and we were ready to step it up even more with multiple table bottle service and appetites to boot for over 15 people. Later on, an additional employee/bouncer came by to see what the commotion was about and offered to let everyone in if we bought bottle service right off the bat and agreed formally to the purchase before entering (I am thinking this bouncer was hoping for his commission for an "up-sell" to table service which reminded me of dorky Verizon employees inside their official stores when trying to get us to buy more). This was a highly distasteful add-on to the already bogus scenario we were involved in. Half of our group consisted of business owners also and didn't get the concept of how people were "chosen" to get in. If well dressed professionals ready to spend at the bar isn't enough, then good luck to this bar thriving. We understand common reasons to not let people in if there are gang affiliations, drunk and obnoxious patrons, etc. but we are the polar opposite. Consider a boycott from us at this location and the Mill Ave. location in downtown Tempe especially since we send so much traffic to the Tempe location from our hotels that my group owns in the area. The Hefe staff may get a kick out of having a power trip, but in essence they're young, unappreciative blue-collar employees that were not screened properly during hiring who are working for a temporary business not having a clue as to how things work in real life. read more

This place is garbage. A few months ago, I was there on a Sunday evening having a few drinks and what not. Out of no where, two Mexican chicks and two white chicks are being dragged out of the bathroom by the neck! . The bouncer kept grabbing and groping her on the way out, not to mention that he had her in a full choke hold and she looked like she was ready to pass out. As I am sitting outside, the fat bastard, racist son of a bitch fuck starts making unnecessary comments. He started calling the poor chick a heifer, a beaner, a wetback on other things. I was offend and called him out, to which he told me to shut the fuck up or leave if I didn't like it. After all, this is "El Hefe, Super macho taqueria" priding themselves on Mexican food and drinks. I think it was bull shit so I told the guy to let go of the girl and he said that I could go back to Mexico with them. I closed out my tab, they called the cops, i think one of the girls got arrested and I never heard back from the manager after I emailed him. The owners might have the best intentions, but staff and management run this place like they own it. Bunch of lame ass bouncers making 10 bucks an hour on a power trip. I might have not gotten a table there that night but I had before. Either way, my tab was about 200 bucks plus tip, which I think would be enough to pay for the bastards salary for a month. Working in the F&b industry and some of the top notch liquor company's out there I would think that they would know what it takes to take care of costumers. I was wrong......... after taking a sip of my drink I told the bartender that I would like a different mixer since they one they used was super string and harsh. He said sure not problem. The then Proceeded to charge me for a new one (thinking he would only charge me for the difference) and I asked him why he charged me FOR A NEW ONE. He said well i explained to you what was in it so you didn't like it and now I have to Charge you for a new one. And I asked for a manager. The manager was no better. She stated he gave you was in it, I explained to her yes but tasting it was not what I expected and stated we can only give you a discount. I was appalled. I have worked in the F&B industry and I know how to manage guests who are unsatisfied with their drinks and it seriously ticked me off you tried to explained to me what your procedures are and made your understanding so "standard". I love giving great reviews... Sadly, we also have to be honest and give bad. Took some friends there today. Supposedly it was the "hype" (sadly over). Upon entry, the space was clean but crowd was more like gorillas hitting on helpless fawn. Yet the fawn were sitting on the bar. Not at, but ON. We sat outside (no hostess) so we just sat. Turns out there was a trainee/trainer for us. Neither had a clue as to "gluten free" including the standard table chips and salsa. Ordered a blended marg (NO Blender, "it broke"). Tacos and salsa great!!! beer was beer. food was served fast and warm. Again, love the food - def a 3-4.5 on food. But after 19 minutes, we still were not table touched by either the trainee or trainer. There was only 7 table occupied. SAD. but I guess when you hire looks over ability, we should not expect much. Then again, I should know better in the area it is located in. Now, I know El Hef opened not too long ago, but with Hi-FI (a newer more gorilla like venue) the crowd must must explore new territory. El Hefe is "New kid on the block is now the red headed step child" But, give it 12 months and Hi-Fi will take that title. Back to point here. in short, if you are looking to be seen, go to either, maybe grab some food. If you are looking for a memorable experience of the good kind, there are 100 options within walking distance. read more

I so wish i could give this a NO STAR rating!!!!! Just a word of advise to the security staff at EL HEFE Scottsdale !!( I am not saying all!! ) Not everyone who use your establishment during the club period during (11Pm-2Am) will be drunk or acting like Fools! if someone is trying to use this restroom/bathroom and not sure where it is and mistakenly was walking the wrong way, it does't take anything to point someone in the right direction ,it doesn't call for a security staff to grab you by throat and be escorted out for saying to him Sir don't grab me like that! This was a result of talking the the same security (gentleman) if he even deserve to be call that!! Not to be grabbing on patrons/Customers like the way he did, Its just as simple to say ( Sir Ma'am the restroom are that way)....instead of trying to show everyone or yourself that you bench press 50 lbs.! Must say thanks to the gentleman i spoke with who is Manager or the Head of Security (Thanks much) for handle the situation like you did it shows class. A word of advice a little customer service training won't hurt for your Security staff it don't always have to be confrontational. Could not rate this place any worse. My husband and I came here for our anniversary to celebrate. We asked the security if we could sit at one of the booths and they said yes. We were sitting there having fun and some kid walks up and tells us to "get the f***off" because that was his booth. My husband tells him it's not okay to talk to us like that. All of us a sudden he puts an ear piece in his ear and there's a sworn of security. Turns out this kid works there. One of the security guards walks up to us and was extremely rude. He wouldn't ask about our side and started putting hands on my husband. We were told we needed to finish our drinks and weren't welcome there anymore. This place is disgusting and the way they handled it was audacious. These men that work there are on a power trip and want to insert their dominance wherever they can. I've never felt so unsafe and ganged up on. If you want to go there, DONT!! They will treat you horribly. I honestly expect someone to make this right since it ruined our anniversary celebration. read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous. First of all, when you have multiple medical schools around your location of business you would think you'd understand how to read multiple IDs; that's not the case here. Watch out, if your ID is more confusing than the typical Arizona ID than AVOID AVOID AVOID this place is like the plague!!! First of all they threaten you about your so called fake ID (I am a 24 year old medical student from MO) and tell you you're lucky they don't confiscate it although I was mad and asked a cop to validate my ID, in which he did. Then the EL HEFE SECURITY proceeded to ask me questions of why my hometown (saint peters in my case) was famous although I can not remember a single memorable time in my last 23 years of living there a time life that.. Security solely asked in order to throw me from being confident in my ID. However when I asked to show my thousands of credit cards and school ID. With my names and pictures on it this bar EL HEFE refused. read more

Tragic. We got bottle service and this place had security that apparently was anti-gay. I witnessed everything and my buddy was not disrespecting anyone, nor was he a threat to anyone. Because he "leaned up against the wall", he was kicked out by security. Congratulations to this stellar security guard for diffusing the threat...you've earned yourself a medal of dishonor. He was working the door Sunday night. I own a bar back home and we would never treat our guests this way. We appreciate good people and value our customers for spending money to support our business. We will not support these people again and highly recommend folks to shift to other bars, where you're valued. read more

so rude and evil. cruel security men that degrade women. i asked security if i could get a mask bc i lost mine and security said i could get one in the bathroom so i covered my face w my hands and went to the bathroom and then as i was going to the bathroom they kicked me out and violently grabbed me, he called me a reckless bitch and told me to go fuck myself, and then proceeded to kicked me out. i found a mask and waited back in line w a mask and he said i couldn't go back in. he was so evil and disrespectful. i have never been treated that way from a grown ass man. do not waste your money on that hell do hole of a bar. never go to this misogynistic asshole bar. read more

Good drinks, average food at best. Went here for a bachelor party and had a pretty good time on a Friday night. We got there early so missed a huge line. The service was abnormally slow but I received a good "Beergarita". We had a good time but there was a lot of dudes and not very many females. With service being slow and rude management we opted to check out the W. Had a Wonderful time there. I decided to give it a second chance and go for lunch. Something new and refreshing for Old Town. El Hefe actually has a concept, it's not just an empty space with a bar to get people wasted. Yea that's fun, but gets old fast. El Hefe is the spot you can go to let loose and party, but they also have a purpose. They have a fun design, energetic staff, speciality drinks, tasty sonoran style street mexi food and table taps! You can find their staff dancing on the bar and pouring tequila in your mouth. They have a dance stage above the bar. They have so much to offer for such a small space. El Hefe will def. be around past many of the fads of Old Town. read more

Ive been to El Hefe a few times and every time has been a pleasant experience. they have great music on the weekends (usually by 10, that I've noticed, the venue becomes a very high energy environment for those of you like the nightlife scene). I've had a few food items off the menu - the Baja taco is a must have as well as the carne asada fries - and the drinks are always great from the bartenders. Hailey has always been a favorite of me and my girlfriends and a great face to see walking into El Hefe - we love her attitude! We will be coming back soon! read more

I've tried so called "gourmet" tacos all over town, no one gets it right, except El Hefe. The duck tacos, superb. Beef cheek tacos, divine. And the chicken tacos...best ever. To be fair I haven't tried anything but the tacos so I can't speak to the rest of the food but if it's on par with what I've had I'm sure it's great. My suggestion.. order one of each taco, they're small. If you want to enjoy the food DO NOT GO ON A WEEKEND NIGHT!! It's fun but too crowded. There's nothing about El hefe you couldn't possibly love. I mean, the girls are beautiful, they do they're job and they work in an atmosphere that brings out the excitement in everyone. It's an amazing place to eat, the food is fantastic. Not to mention.. Since being there, its now my dream job. I walked out already planning the next time I'll be attending! I just left el hefe after dropping my keys, card, and ID in a booth. The Manager Eric was very helpful and checked every lost and found bag. He even pulled apart the booth and found all of my items. If you go out and lose anything there make sure you don't just call. The bartends won't check for anything beyond the bar so asks for Eric the manager. This place is great fun. We all enjoyed ourselves. The bartenders weren't the best but that's usually expected in old town. read more
