I love finding these small family owned restaurants! I always get amazing service and a good size plate for a great price. I hadn't had breakfast and I really wanted some huevos rancheros. I was with a co-worker that didn't know what they were and I was determined to have her try some. I got my plate with corn tortillas and she had her plate with flour tortillas. Our other friend decided to get a taco; she missed out. Oh, and my friend had her first Mexican Coca-Cola. It was a great food stop and the employees were so nice. Gracias!!!

Awesome service and good food! The owner is friendly and attentive and breakfast tacos well done and good size. The place is also clean and not super busy so that's a definite plus. As a fun note she has a new music playlist every time that could be anything from Spanish 80s hits to Mariachi best. Good background vibe but not too loud that it stops you from chatting.

I've only had the breakfast tacos so far, which are really good. Staff is very friendly and really nice. And food comes out very quickly!

We are visiting from Alabama (originally from El Paso) and have been looking forward to some authentic fare. We were not disappointed! Food is exceptional and made fresh on order. I had the beef gordita plate, husband had chicken enchiladas with green sauce and a beef crispy taco. Our lovely server (Pety) brought me a sweet bread cake in honor of Kings Day (Dia De Los Reyes) which was so thoughtful and kind! Highly recommend this place and we will return!

Really delicious breakfast tacos. Some of the best I've had; I've had a lot. Homemade tortillas. I tried the papas rancheras and egg/bacon/cheese. Bacon was that good cubed Mexican style and blended well with creamy eggs and cheese. Somehow the papas rancheras was saucy but not messy. Good size and I liked both red and green salsa. Very friendly service. Tip well, it's cheap and - you'll love it!

The service is awesome very helpful. The food is outstanding a little dive place but very clean and fresh food! The only problem they are closed after 2 pm!

With the amount of times I frequent El Mariachi Loco during the work week, there's no doubt I'm crazy about these tacos. The best thing I can tell you is to get down to Mariachi during breakfast hours, during which you can snag three delicious tacos for $2.25. And vegetarians, you'll want to order up the Papa Ranchera and the Papas a la Mexicana. We all know that the standby potato, egg, and cheese is delicious, but smothering some papas in ranchero sauce or marrying them with some jalapeno and veggies is prime (and not to mention one of my favorite things to order). The enchiladas are also tasty and made without meat sauce, their chips and red salsa are made fresh and spicy, and their green salsa is muy deliciouso. If you come during lunch hours, they typically have 3-4 specials per day ranging from plates to tortas to fideo. But my favorite thing about my Mariachi Loco experience is the service. These women are extremely friendly and treat their repeated patrons incredibly well. They go the extra mile to ensure we are taken care of and satisfied, so naturally, we're always coming back for more. Not to mention, their to-go service is always super speedy and reliable. We're able to get in and out within five minutes on a busy work day and the food is always hot and fresh. Hands down, Mariachi is one of the best places for breakfast tacos on that side of town - do yourself a favor, stop on by, and let them treat you right.

This place hits the mark on everything when it comes to breakfast…read more We had the standard huevos rancheros and the huevos benitos. Both were solid, especially the huevos benitos. I'm not a big fan of chorizo, but I do seek out unique variations of eggs benedict, and this one fit the bill, so I went for it. The flavor combination was perfect, and I wasn't overwhelmed with chorizo. If you like eggs benny, give this variation a try. You won't be sorry! The refried beans - I know it's silly to review beans, but these were a bit different than the normal ones we find in SA. They had a bit more texture, unlike the overly blended beans we're used to. Chef's Kiss goes out to these beans! The potatoes - we weren't sure what the seasoning was, but we think it was adobo. Whatever the seasoning is, it puts them over the top as far as breakfast potatoes are concerned. Good stuff! Just a couple of notes: We didn't get tortillas with our breakfast. It might have been an oversight, or our meals didn't come with them. Not sure. The service was great, but depending on the server you get, you might need to know some Spanish. I give them 5 solid stars for breakfast.

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.

It was probably our most favorite place that we ate while in San Antonio. The ambiance was great, beautifully decorated restaurant with great service. The cocktails were delicious so we had a few. We sat on the back patio for dinner on a day when it was 100 degrees out and there were fans all over to help keep the air flowing, which helped immensely. They have some interesting cocktails, such as their jalapeño cucumber margarita which is made with ghost pepper infused tequila. Their salsa tray is nice too, they have 4 to select from and you get three in this appetizer, but we ordered the 4th as well and all were pretty nicely done. The verde was amazing and the roasted tomato was great, just not spicy at all. I tried their combo fajitas and was thankful they came out being simply plated, rather than on the blazing hot, sizzling skillet - I don't need the show, just the good eats. The meats were decent, the beans were amazing. The tortillas were just ok, as I felt like they were way too thick. They offered corn tortillas too, but I'm in Texas, so you get flour, not corn. Save room for dessert, they have amazing churros! Overall, this was a decent visit. Service was nice too. I'd recommend stopping in.
