I came in with one of my friends who ordered a 6ft burrito! It was taller than me. The service was pretty quick. One of the guys helped carry out the burrito and stuff for us. I have tried this place 2xs. The first time we went we tried the Flautas and a Carne Asada burrito. It was good! The second time we went, we had the Flautas again, and tacos (it was Taco Tuesday). The flautas were NOT the same. The flavor, size and condiments all different. They said we no longer give you lettuce, pico, sour cream or guac! WHAT!! $13.50 and you change within a week??? Taquitos are huge and delicious, and come with a huge plop of flavorful homemade guacamole. The soft tacos combo, with chicken, is some of the best I've ever had. The chicken is moist and well spiced. Beans and rice are flavorful. Every time I come here I am happily surprised at the consistency and quality of the food. I love the Mexican music playing. This place is right at the corner of 19th and carnelian in Rancho Cucamonga. I love the salsa bar! I have ordered 6 breakfast burritos from this place and each time I ask for crispy potatoes and they acknowledge my request but I have never gotten them. Instead I got boiled potatoes that were under boiled. I spoke with a manager and explained my situation and indicated I wanted to keep supporting this place but I wanted to know what was up with the under cooked potatoes? She said they won't fry them and I'll basically just have to deal with the boiled potatoes. Why the hell didn't they say that each time I've ordered there. I ask for crispy potatoes and they act like it's not an issue but never does it happen. Now I understand why they are to lazy to actually cook them. When it comes to wet burritos and tacos, this place has become my go-to. I always get the veggie wet burrito with a side of soft tacos (yes, I don't need any help finishing them all myself If I'm really hungry). Their prices are very reasonable and the food is consistently good. I also tried the tamarind drink for the first time today and it's DELISH! They also have a really good salsa bar. Well this time although customer service was great I really didn't enjoy my food decided to not order my usual the machaca burrito and decided to try a carnitas wet burrito so dissapointed i at about 2 bites and not only did it lack flavor but want appetizing had large fatty parts that were unpleasant I had to add some sour cream to try and give it some flavor but didn't work I didn't like it at all my fault for changing my usual chips they gave me were burned but not complaining just pointing out since I've had only great experience here but this day was all bad 2 stars are for the service and 1 for the salsa which is always on point from super spicy to not at all read more

That one star was kind of tough to give, because I've liked El Ranchero for a long time. Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill, and fast. Recently, my husband picked up a late dinner for us. We ordered an enchilada plate, some taquitos, and their Ranchero fries. Before I even get to the biggest issue we had-- not only was I a bit disappointed that the taquitos had changed since the last time I'd had them, but they were soaked in grease (which was pooled in the take out container). A little over halfway into my husband eating his enchilada plate, he bit into something, which caused a sharp pain when it hit his filling. Turns out, there was a piece of wire in the meat. So, not only did we have to throw out his meal, but everything else as well (because everything had shredded beef in them), because who knows what else is in the meat! Talk about a waste of money and time. To top things off, we both got sick. Of course, I can't say for sure whether it was this meal, but it's the the most likely and considering the above, not surprising. This is a very unhealthy and filthy place... especially for take outs.. I hope the health officials take note of it!! I wish I could share the pictures of the food.... The lady who worked with the Doordasher was very rude!!Very confrontational!! I will count this entity as a part of our this year's charity case... I can now claim them as a $100 charity contribution! I hope I can talk to their owner.... If that lady who was rude to me and the dasher is the owner, one piece of advice! Arrogance always gets us all; you just ruined livelyhoods of many many people!! We'll have to say that the greeting at this place is absolutely horrible. Made an online order this morning about 7:30 so I am definitely not dressed to impress. I never got a welcoming. I never got a hello I just went over was grabbing my salsa and a woman comes out of the back finally and she said, did you already make your order extremely rude. I've been to this restaurant many times usually people say good morning hello how are you? I will absolutely never come here again because of this worker. My family and I enjoy going to this place for our local hole in the wall mexican food. usually, we really only order asada burritos from here & a potato burrito. the burritos taste good.. not bad & not out of this world. very solid, right there in between and it satisfies us. the meat in the asada burrito is yummy as is the red spicy sauce in the burrito. however, with all of this being said, our only complaint with el ranchero is the portion size. we always find ourselves hungry after a burrito. for the price of the burrito, we feel the burrito should be bigger! that would really be our only complaint. we will definitely still come eat here, but feel like this should be addressed. :) read more

Rating is not for the food. The food is actually pretty decent. But they never answer their phone!!!! Literally this is the 5th time, I call and call and call , 30 times and it's busy. I get to the restaurant and it's dead. It's the same lady too. I even seen her get the phone and leave it on so she doesn't have to take phone orders.
