    Menudo with fixings

Being from Central TX and growing up in a Mexican household, we had menudo frequently. And after trying many places in ABQ for menudo, Sabor de Juarez delivers. Spicy, flavorful, not greasy. Comes out piping hot with a lazy Susan with all the fixings. We have and will continue to travel across town for the food and wonderful service here. Small, family owned and operated.

Very welcoming! The owner was friendly, food was delicious and authentic, great prices, food arrived within 10minutes of sitting down. Very local feel and momnpop joint anyone would be happy to support! Even the prices are great! Chile relleno burrito "Christmas" (red and green chile), authentic homemade horchata that wasn't too sweet but very flavorful! Riiiiico! Highly recommend

We have gone all over town and Albuquerque has some great Menudo places but personally this place is the best. Love the way they present the fixings. Staff and owner are overly friendly and refreshing.

I ordered two of the carne asada with guacamole to go. I was starving and extremely disappointed with the flavor, size and FLAVOR! First, the burritos are smalls. And there is no flavor. I added the spicy salsa and still no flavor. I think the chef forgot to season the carne asada and guacamole.

I talk about home in the walls frequently & my affinity towards them. This place defines them. A lot people in a small area serving great Mexican food. Today was a large bowl of menudo. Almost everyplace serves posole - few serve menudo. The menudo was "picoso" it had a lot of tripe and for another $1 you could get extra. Instead of tortillas you get a roll to soak up the juices. Overall our breakfast was excellent. If the rest of the menu is this good, we have found our perfect place for Mexican. This is one of few places I say is an absolute must try!

A local dive serving terrific home style Mexican food! In NM for business and didn't have much time between meetings. Got in and out in 30 minutes. Food was terrific and service great!

This is exactly as advertised and delivered good quality New Mexican lunch. The Combination Plate #1 with a Beef Taco, Beef Tamale and Cheese Enchilada with a side of Beef Adovada. The taco was solid, crunchy and held together, cheese enchilada with red chili sauce is on point, but the beef tamale fell flat a bit. It was decent, but not the best thing on the plate. The beef adovada was the best thing I ate and I would come back just to eat that again. The rice and beans on the side left room for seasoning and also fell short of expectations. Service was quick, polite, helpful and made me feel comfortable. This is a locally owned restaurant that is worth the stop and attention. Highly recommend!

I am a mermaid at heart so of course the seashell theme was on point. I was on a solo date and the patio was a sweet place to sit outside under string lights and enjoy the views of the mountains in the background. I love to try new things so I was delighted they had an oystertini (yep you guessed it, a martini with an oyster in it!) The lions mane mushrooms were to die for. Insane flavor and texture. The salmon was cooked " medium" which I've never really had before, and it was so palatable and luxurious. Nothing worse than overcooked fish ha ha. Dominic was my server and he was especially attentive and sweet and conversational. Great energy. The rest of the staff had a similar vibe. 10 out of 10 would love to come back. One thing to note: the food is very RICH with a lot of oils, kind of like French food, so next time I wouldn't order as many heavy items (my fault not theirs !) and I would pair it with some lighter faire they offer such as one of their salads. Overall, such a treat.

Unfortunately, they didn't ask us if we had a special occasion we were celebrating, but overall the service was great. The ambiance was pretty nice and there is a back patio that has a few tables. They have a large array of oysters from the east coast and west coast. The oysters and the way they served and prepared were good. They do have raw clams also which I thought strange, but I'm probably just not fancy enough. We ordered a few appetizers including green chili hush puppies which seemed to need a little more Smokey green chili flavor and they were a bit dry. The lobster deviled eggs are sort of tart and flavorless and I didn't get any lobster on mine. My friend said the lobster rolls were good, and I had a salmon special that was out of this world delicious and cooked to perfection!! The red curry mussels were also outstanding!! Could use a bit more spice and salt, but really good. One of the kiddos didn't want raw food, but he also couldn't find much on the menu for kids. They were out of what he ordered and when they finally did get his order, his food came out about 15 minutes after the rest of the table. They did comp out appetizers so that was nice, but in my opinion they should have comped his meal since they didn't have what he wanted and then served him so much later. Their alcoholic fancy beverages were great. I had a glass of wine that was good. I would suggest offering more wines and meals from the adjacent wine bar and restaurant to Lure as well. They have a few kinks to work out, but I think they are on the right track. There is no phone so it's very difficult to make a reservation. I recommend visiting this place and trying some of their food during off hours. I'm not sure I'd recommend their appetizers yet, but with a few tweaks they will improve. Cheers!

We went right when they opened at 11 AM because we wanted to get a good seat, and surprisingly, the place was already pretty busy. That's usually a good sign, you figure if there are already a lot of people there, the food must be fresh and good. I ordered the carne asada, my son got a quesadilla, and my parents ordered a couple of different things. The location isn't the best. It's around Central and Louisiana, and there are quite a few homeless people in the area. It can definitely feel a little sketchy, but honestly, that's not something I can really hold against the restaurant. The service, however, was a different story this time. Normally the staff is pretty friendly and the restaurant is well run, but this visit they just seemed off. One thing I've noticed before is that once they realize you don't speak Spanish, the way they treat you can sometimes change. And being Mexican but not speaking Spanish shouldn't suddenly mean you get different service. ‍ The food was just okay this time. My carne asada was warm when it came out, and the meat wasn't as tender or juicy as I remember. There just wasn't anything that really stood out. They do give you chips and salsa, plus a little bit of queso, which is nice. I will say the atmosphere is fun and festive. If you're familiar with Latino culture, you'll definitely recognize the vibe here. It's lively and has a lot of character. Would I recommend it? Normally, yes. But based on this particular visit, I'm not sure. Maybe it was just an off day, or maybe something has changed with the management or staff. I know there's another location, so I think I'll give that one a try next time and see how it compares.

We initially decided on this place because they offered oysters on a half shell. I figured they would be small oysters, but no, these oysters reminded me of the size of gulf oysters. The oyster dish came with all of the fixings, horseradish sauce, cocktail sauce, tabasco sauce, lemons, and crackers. I enjoyed every single bite. We ordered a seafood boil dish combo #2 that came with Dungeness Crab Legs, shrimp, clams, sausage, red potatoes, and corn in a crab house cajun sauce with heat level medium spicy. The boil came out just as I finished my last oyster. I failed to take a picture of the beautiful seafood dish before us. Plan to get messy with this place. They put down paper on the table when arriving, and they give gloves and a bib to wear. I took off all of my rings and I got busy cracking and peeling. The cajun garlic butter sauce was so flavorful. I couldn't get enough of it. I swept and dipped my seafood pieces around in it until I could scoop up enough to enjoy with every bite. Our server was attentive to our needs, and the bathroom was clean upon my visit. I didn't mind the walls and poles that were written on. It added its own character.

This charming little bistro near the south end of Old Town is elegant, welcoming, and truly a hidden gem. He was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He also took the time to recommend several local restaurants and places to visit, which we really appreciated. We started with the mussels, and they were outstanding--fresh, tender, and served in a rich, spicy butter broth with perfectly toasted crusty bread for dipping. My cedar plank salmon was cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and paired with a delicious chorizo risotto. My husband ordered the filet mignon, and after trying a bite, I can understand why he said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. The mushroom risotto and seasonal vegetables were the perfect complement, and the fresh salad with homemade dressing was a great start to the meal. To top off the evening, the staff surprised me with a three-flavor sherbet dessert complete with a birthday candle and a thoughtful personalized birthday card. It was such a sweet touch that made me feel truly celebrated. We couldn't leave without trying the German chocolate cake, and it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable dinner.
