Came in to El Torito for a last minute date night! We knew there was happy hour, but we didn't know about the $2.99 margaritas!! Hubby was so happy. Food 9.5/10 - Queso Dip 9.5/10 (i like my queso a little thicker) - Birria Tacos 10/10 (sooooo good! Especially for the happy hour price) - Guac 10/10 (I love me so guac, and this one was bomb!) - Carne Asada fries 10/10 - 3 margaritas 10/10 Everything was so good. We both hadn't been here for quite a few years and we were really blown away by the great food, great drinks, and great service! Our servers Memo and Brian were so attentive and really made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back for an other date night!

The service is always great and it's my favorite place to go if there is ever a game. This place has a very casual and friendly vibe. There's usually no wait and I love going when they have their happy hour since it makes for a super affordable meal. They recently changed up their happy hour menu so it's not as appealing as before, but I would still come back in hopes that they change it back or for trying whatever they add.

Stopped in for a quickie bite! The service here was fantastic. Everyone we encountered was so nice and accommodating. It was so refreshing to encounter people working in the restaurant industry and just being so nice. Shoutout to ANGEL!!!! he was sooo nice and he sat us at our table! Second time here the food was really good, we had one of the new entrées and birria tacos. Monday is Margarita Day All Day !! , The dessert was super sweet and perfect for a sister date night !! Will be coming back

El Torito Torrance is a great place to enjoy a leisurely Sunday Brunch! It's AYCE with bottomless mimosas, coffee, iced tea, orange juice, and soft drinks. There's a fantastic selection of Mexican entrees, a salad station, soup station, omelette bar, dessert station, kiddie station (has small boxed cereals, milk, fries, chicken nuggets), and drinks like cucumber melon, horchata, and jamaica. The price is $36.99 for each adult and $13.50 for each child. Be aware that there is an additional 4.99% surcharge added to your bill before tax. This surcharge is generally a fee charged by the credit card companies, which the restaurant passes on to the customer. As we were celebrating a birthday, we had a party of eight people and we paid in cash. We pointed this out to our server, but he insisted that the purpose of the change was "to keep (us) from having to increase prices". It's not the server's fault, so we just shrugged it off. I do want to note that we had a party for the AYCE Sunday Brunch the week before this at the El Torito Lakewood. They removed the fee from the bill. This is a fairly small location. It's definitely not as big as the El Torito Lakewood but the selection of food is just as good. The mariachis do not perform at this location. I still think the Sunday Brunch is a pretty good deal.

Juan Carlos or "JC" was incredibly transparent in sharing with me the Happy Hour options vs regular menu at the bar. My server Danny was also very attentive and his service was excellent. The bar ambiance was very relaxing and I was able to get some work done while I ate. Will definitely come back and recommend.

I really want to give this place more stars but the reason why is the portions for lunch is so tiny! I have my hand out for a comparison. This fajitas is for a small child portion size who's maybe be under 6 yrs old.even for my child who is 9 yrs old is not enough food for her. The fajitas is actually pretty good tasting for a chain. The service here is very friendly and on top of it. Ambiance is casual and simple. Hopefully after they read this and maybe other people's comment they will modify to a bit bigger portion to match their prices.

I had the street tacos, again, probably for the fifth time. I love the ingredients and the provided salsa. The blend makes for great flavor. For the appetizer we had the "fresh tableside guacamole." Not our first time ordering this item but it not prepared at our table. Frankly we enjoy the show and it was a bit disappointing for it to be brought of the kitchen in a bowl. But it will tasted goof, although a bit on the warm side. The waiter asked if we wanted more chips since there were only a few on the plate. The place was busy and the chips didn't come to our table for over 5 minutes. Not a big deal. We felt a bit rushed as the main courses were brought out by the server well before we finished the appraiser. That's why I dropped a star considering the waiters and servers are usually very attentive. Hopefully next time will be better. Parking till good in their big parking lot. It's a nice location

It's been years since I've visited El Torito and so when I saw they were part of dineLA this year I knew it was time for another visit. I have fond memories of visiting El Torito with my parents during their Sunday brunch. For this dineLA, I got to experience dineLA in different way - for dinner! Their dineLA dinner offering is $35 for a 3 course dinner. The first course was the appetizer. I chose to get their Crispy Flautas, while my friend chose to get their Tortilla Soup. The Crispy Flautas appetizer consisted of four grilled chicken and cheese flautas topped with cotija cheese and crema fresca. It was served with jalapeño jelly and red pepper dip. Though this dish was called "Crispy Flautas," I did feel that the "crispy" was by name only. It was not as crisp as I would have liked. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this appetizer. It was packed with ingredients and flavors. The dipping sauces were good but not necessarily needed because the flautas with the crema fresca were already rich and tasty. The only thing lacking was the crispness. I tried a bit of my friend's Chicken Tortilla Soup and enjoyed the warm broth with chunks of chicken, avocado and tortilla strips. This was a good, light starter. For our main courses, we opted to get the Fajitas Duo with grilled chicken and skirt steak and the Carne Asada and Shrimp plate. When the Fajitas Duo came, I was surprised that it wasn't served sizzling. I'm used to having restaurants serve fajitas sizzling and smoking hot (the kind of sizzling where your clothes end up smelling like food at the end of the meal). The fajita dish was warm but definitely not sizzling. It was a little bit of a bummer but the most disappointing thing was the meat was dry. I felt both the chicken and skirt steak lacked juiciness. The side guacamole (which they initially forgot to give), definitely helped with this. The grilled vegetables also gave it a bit more flavor. I would honestly pass on fajitas next time. My friend's Carne Asada and Shrimp seemed to be the better entree. Even though this plate also consisted skirt steak, the steak for this dish was more tender and flavorful. It perhaps could be the pico de gallo that it came with. The third course was dessert. I got the Deep Fried Ice Cream and my friend got the Flan. The Deep Fried Ice Cream was a winner! I loved the crisp outer shell and the vanilla ice cream that was topped with cinnamon sugar coating. This dessert was delightful and delicious! The flan was also really enjoyable. The rich vanilla custard was smooth and sweet. I can without a doubt say dessert was the best course because of this flan and the ice cream. Overall it was nice to be back at El Torrito after so many years. dineLA definitely gave a nice opportunity to try out a variety of their offerings. I did feel like there were a few misses but nothing too bad. (The fajitas were too dry for me. I also noticed their chips were not that crisp). Nevertheless there were also some memorable and tasty dishes. (Don't skip on the dessert). For $35, I definitely left happy and full.

My mom and I decided we wanted Mexican food while we were out shopping so we chose El Torito on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance. The restaurant was clean and we were immediately greeted with friendly, fast service. Once seated our waiter came to greet us. He was very nice and attentive. He always gave us updates on when our food would be ready and even asked us if we had any food allergies as we were ordering. I got a small bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The avocado had several dark areas like it had been sitting out too long. Our waiter immediately apologized and brought me a fresh cup with perfect slices of avocado. My mom ordered a chicken taco and chicken enchilada with rice and beans. I ordered the lemon rosemary chicken fajitas with rice and beans. Our food was hot, fresh and seasoned well. Of course I ate too many chips with that delicious and a little spicy salsa and had to take my food home. My mom too! The next day we both warmed up our food and it was delicious. I even shared my fajitas with my husband who also said everything tasted good. I totally forgot to take pics of our meals!!!

Extremely disappointed, I have been coming to this location before it was El Toritos, the last 2 times my wife goes in to pick up our family order, unfortunately she had 2 back to back negative experiences. Today a girl named "Gisselle" was extremely rude to her and basically gave us what she wanted. I know most of the people that work there, I am a customer who tips on the average 50% of our bill, because I want to be treated with respect and made to feel welcome, which for all these years I have. Well my wife said no more at this location!! stopped by for dinner, as always excellent service. food smells amazing and tastes so delicious. always with new items and fresh ingredients. as I walked in the door, Host Karla greeted me and my guests, so polite, and with a genuine smile. she made the beginning of the dinner warm and pleasant. our server Ernesto, such a kind, and warm person. Ernesto went above and beyond, I asked for something he made the miracle happen. We LOVE coming here and have been coming here for decades! We regularly come here for taco Tuesday and it is the best in South Bay! Their Sunday brunch is also the best! This is NOT an authentic Mexican, this is an Americanized version. If you are expecting authentic Mexican - go somewhere else. I ordered the birrea tacos and these are easily the worst birrea tacos I've ever had. The meat was bland and had no flavor and the tortillas were soggy in the center but almost stale and hard at the edge. It almost looked like a tv dinner. I wondered who in the world was rating this place so high, then a couple came in and had to ask what carne asada was and ordered their meat WELL DONE! (And proud of that?!?!) and then praised the waitress on her knowledge of what carne asada was, so those are the people rating this place high. The service was good and the waitress was super nice. I fall in love with the new buffet format. I love that they added new stuff to Sunday brunch buffet specially hot chocolate which is perfect for the upcoming season. We came to this restaurant location 3 times in one month for several reasons: Friendly service, great prices, clean area, easy parking, great food, date night, and to enjoy my two sons visiting from college. The au jus is fantastic, but when the prime rib is served in a pool of it, the meat becomes soggy. Served separately, I think the prime rib would be even better. In addition to the prime rib, the salad and steak fries are incredibly delicious. The salad is nothing fancy, but very tasty due to the ranch dressing it comes with. Wish I knew the recipe of the dressing. The steak fries pair perfectly with the prime rib. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only thing I would say is pretty average is the sourdough bread. Although it comes out warm, I don't get the sense that they're freshly baked. The service here is phenomenal. The servers are attentive, polite, and efficient. Can't ask for anything more from them. If you're looking for a trendy spot with contemporary decor and pretentious vibes, this place is not for you. This is an old school steakhouse with red upholstered booths and soft music playing in the background. I wanted to share some feedback regarding our recent visit to your restaurant on 7/1. We dined in and left at 7:43 PM after arriving a little after 6 PM. Upon being greeted by our server, I asked if there was a happy hour. He immediately said no and proceeded to push higher-cost alcoholic beverages. Initially, I understood he was upselling. We placed our main order, and again the server tried upselling appetizers even though we had just ordered our main dishes. Our drinks took a while to arrive, coming out right before our food, which was unusual but manageable. Midway through our meal, the server dropped off the dessert menu, continuing to upsell. We finished our meal and as we were leaving, we noticed a sign indicating happy hour was from 3-9 PM, Monday through Friday. We were in disbelief that our server had lied to us about the availability of happy hour. While I understand the server might not want to lose out on tips by mentioning happy hour is only at the bar, we would have happily stayed at our table since the bar was full when we arrived. There was no need for dishonesty. This experience was very disappointing and has impacted our view of your restaurant. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, excellent customer service, to be greeted with mimosas (included), homemade pancake pancakes with honey butter, and just a smiling staff, come to El Torito, in Torrance. The brunch on the weekends (which end ends at 2 PM), is worth trying! Being Mexican-American myself, I'm picky with "authentic Mexican food", so for me to say that this place taste original and very good, I'm telling the truth. They have ceviche, an omelette bar, a taco bar, a salad bar, a hot food and breakfast bar, a griddle bar with waffles and pancakes, and also a dessert station. Higinio, our server helped us out today and was very attentive. Sometimes the food can be good, and the customer service can be lacking but here you get everything for a very reasonable price. There's also parking on the sides and in the back, so you're not gonna be looking for parking on the street. The music is great, the people who come here also very nice, and it's very clean. We held a birthday party for 85 people from Gardena High School at this El Torito on 9/23/2017. Store Managers Isaac & Erica helped us plan the event; they were extremely accommodating to our group's needs; set up the Patio Room to our specifications, and were ready for us when we arrived to decorate and organize the room and check-in table. Banquet supervisor Fernanda and her staff provided friendly and efficient service for our large group. The Taco Buffet Bar was fabulous - fresh, tasty and a big variety of food - and they kept it coming! We had a huge birthday cake delivered, and the staff cut/served our guests quickly. This is our second GHS event at this El Torito venue, and we couldn't recommend a better place in the South Bay to enjoy good Mexican cooking in a friendly atmosphere! We were recommended this place by a couple of friends and are really glad we now know about it. The restaurant looks beautiful from the outside and is just as good looking in the inside. It seemed busy but this didn't affect the service in any way. Our waiter was Memo and he did a fantastic job. I let him know that I didn't each much salt and he brought us some salt less chips. From this point I knew we were in the right hands and the service was going to be amazing. We let him know that it was my mothers birthday and they came to sing to her after we had finished eating, which really made her day. The food was very tasty and overall service was amazing. It's visits like these that make you want to return and try more food. Without a doubt we will be returning here whenever we have a chance. read more

I came here last night with my best friend from elementary school. We came in and were told to wait about five minutes. The five minutes turned into fifteen minutes. We patiently waited, even though my best friend kept insisting we hop over to the restaurant next door instead. We were finally seated, but we were not given any menus nor chips/salsa. Nobody even greeted us after we were seated. What really ticked us off was that the people who were seated next to us were given their menus and chips/salsa before us. We decided to simply leave the restaurant and we went to The Loft next door. This location is terrible and I will never go back to this place. Never have I been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I've visited this location many times, but unfortunately, my most recent experience will likely be my last. Service & Atmosphere: Although the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, the service felt disorganized. We were seated at a table that had water spilled across it; rather than moving us to a clean table, the hostess simply wiped it down. We also had to retrieve our own utensils and napkins from a neighboring table. Food Quality: The food was disappointing. The enchilada sauce had an unexpectedly sweet, ketchup-like flavor that didn't match the traditional salsa expected. Staff: On a positive note, the hostess and waiter were very friendly throughout the visit. However, the overall decline in quality means it's time for us to find a new favorite spot. read more

Amazing!!! 10/10 Definitely recommend for you and your family to eat here! Thankfully we came on a Monday in the afternoon, no line, no wait time. Besides that and most importantly our server Juan Carlos and the team here were really attentive to our needs and went out of the way to sing happy birthday to my mom. The food, was AMAZING!!! I tried to deal with this issue without posting on yelp but after waiting 14 days for a reply I decided to go to yelp review. Disappointing experience at the Torrance location. On April 10 my uncle (a long-time customer) stopped in for a drink and dinner at the bar. He was required to pay upfront for both his drink and food, while other customers around him were not asked to do the same. This inconsistency made him feel singled out. When he brought it up to the manager, he was told they could "do it to anyone they want," which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. If there's a policy, it should be applied consistently and communicated respectfully. No customer should be treated differently like this. read more

We had such a great experience at El Torito, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Ashley (our Jackie ) ! From the moment we sat down, she was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. She checked in on us at just the right times, made sure our drinks stayed full, and got everything out quickly and accurately. What really stood out was her positive attitude! She made us feel comfortable and taken care of the entire time. It's not always easy to find service that feels both professional and personal, but Ashley definitely delivered. I don't often eat out but if the service and food is similar to this place, I will definitely have to go out more. After we sat, Mr. Luis came to check on us to see that everything was fine or if we needed anything. This is something you always like to see because it lets you know right away that you are going to have a good experience since the workers genuinely care about their customers. This restaurant really went to crap ever since Covid started. My wife just waited an hour for our order only for the staff to try and double charge her for something we didn't even order. So how did the staff fix this? They removed one of the items leaving the item we didn't order and one of our orders. I told them this was still not what we regularly pay, but they kept assuring me they "fixed" the price. All I wanted was to get my dinner after a long day and pay for what I was getting. They couldn't do that so I had to walk out. I'm a regular that will be sticking to Acapulco in Long Beach from now on. Better food anyway. read more
