I got the clogged kitchen sink. Price checked with multiple companies. This company had so called $79 or around that price for snaking service. Representative showed up friendly and professional, and told me that because our townhouse does not have the easy service port access, so they have to charge $300+ instead. Since I have price checked with other companies, so I know that around $300 is normal. I think this company should be more honest and tell customer what is that $79 service is actually for. Elite Rooter was great! I requested a quote, and someone came out the next day to talk me through options and what should be done. I thought I'd have to replace my whole sewer line but Elite Rooter suggested a power wash to clear out roots might be enough to keep me running for a while -- which was great because the full replacement would have been VERY expensive. They were even in the area the next day, and Eddie came out, did the cleaning, and then spent EXTRA time helping me unclog the back sink that hasn't drained in probably two years. These guys are running a scam. They were supposed to snake my laundry room drain out for $70 . He said that he had to go up on the roof because his snake was too big to do it down below. I should have known right then Now the price doubled to $140. He then said his snake was hitting something and couldn't go any further. He told me he only went 30ft. Then he said that he would have to call his manager to come out and would go under the house to check it out for $390 which he did. He said my pipe that was coming down the wall was lower than it should be and water was backing up the pipe. He said it would cost $2850 to replace the pipe. I had this checked out by a plumber and this was just BS. The pipe angle was fine (see attached). The pipe was clogged though but not for the reason that he came up with. He just made up a story. I did want to replace it though and I got a licensed plumber to do it for $1700. Don't call these guys, they are not honest. They'll bilk you for all they can get. I may call the BBB and report this as I don't want them to prey on other unsuspecting people. read more

A sister of mine found this company and called them for a problem at my parents house with a backup in the kitchen and one bathroom. However, it's been the beginning of a nightmare! No joke. While the employees are responsive and make you feel like they know what they're doing, they really make repairs that don't last, and obviously not done correctly. The quote was reasonable however, not even 1 year later we've had many issues since the fixes. Basically, we were advised to redo all the work this company did. (The main line underneath the house and redo all the plumbing this company replaced). I feel they took advantage of our trust. The main line that was replaced has since collapsed and causing so many back up issues. It was not anchored properly! And the rest of the plumbing was not done so great. It was BAD work. I trust this new information as it's our family plumber for many years. If you have another company referral - go to them!!!! And avoid this company or any kind of quick "rooter" companies. They may talk nice and give reasonable quotes but you're wasting your time and money! It's so unfortunate I have to do this. But I'm trying to help the community with my honest review. We had a clogged toilet that had run up into the adjacent tub. The contractors assigned to us by our warranty company determined it was a partial mainline blockage and refused to do the work / tried to pawn it off to one of their "friends". After a few weeks of going back and forth with our warranty company and their respective contractors dragging their feet, we decided to take a shot at finding our own contractor Elite Rooter responded same day, and their prices seemed to be fair ($79 drain care special, further quotes upon arrival if needed). Erick explained everything very clearly, concisely, and professionally. He explained that because our condo was upstairs, it was impossible to do a "clear out" from the ground drain because the auger / pump won't work when trying to aim it upwards. So they unfortunately had to remove our toilet and use the tools in a downward vertical trajectory and that seemed to clear out the drain. So what was $79 became closer to $180 (still reasonable considering what our previous contractors quoted us i.e. $400 - $500 for a "clear out"). After an hour or so, Erick could've left and said job done, but instead he wanted to ensure the problem didn't persist--great customer service! His instinct was apparently spot on, because when he added pressure to the line the water still backed up (although not as bad as before). His supervisor / sewer line specialist came with a fiber optic camera and ran it down the line and that's where we discovered that large sections of the pipes were corroded. Elite Rooter explained the only way to fix this is to replace the pipes, which is pretty darn expensive (seriously google it and try not to have a heart attack). Usually I would remain skeptical and say a contractor was trying to pull a fast one on me. However the fact that they showed me the pipes through the camera feed, I could clearly see the difference, and I did research after they left to validate the severity of the problem, proved that Elite Rooter is committed to customer care and customer confidence. I would definitely recommend Elite Rooter for any future plumbing needs. read more

We just talked to them and had them come check out our rental property. Ends up 10 feet of piping under the house and strapping up another 20 feet of piping was a bid of $3448. This is at most $100 in parts, and approximately four hours of labor they said. To make it more insulting of a rip off, they charged $389 just to come out and look at the problem and give the estimate. They were there a total of 30 minutes. Reached out for a quote and they proceeded with their process to get a person out the next day. Thought that was great. Selected a time my wife could be there. They gave me a window time of 2pm to 4pm. Received a missed call from them but he left me a voice mail and said they could be there at 330pm. I call the guy back at 335pm and he said that he needed to go to a more urgent call as they want to help get that family back up and running. He said that they messed up the schedule and that they could send someone out the next day. I used elite rooter for the first time. They were unable to complete the job. They did use two different snakes to try and unclog my main sewer line. The first tools they used didn't look like they have the right cutter on the end of the snake. What a waist of 80 dollars. We rented a machine for two hours bought warranty coverage for machine and only spent 64 dollars to do it our self. The lines are now clear ! And we are able to take a shower, flush the toilet and run water in our home. Elite wanted to charge $398.00 dollars for a camera and $1,200.00 for a hydro water pressure. We had tiles slowly sinking, so we removed them to level them again. This is when we found those huge holes underneath... We thought we had a leak with the main water pipe close by so we contacted Elite Rooter. We scheduled an appointment and Armando showed up on time. We found out that our pipe from the '70 was probably leaking from the meter, the house connection, and probably multiple places in between...We also learned that the main shutoff valve wasn't working. At the end, it was cheaper and more efficient to cutoff the old pipe and build a new copper one. They got to work right away and it took 2.5 days. Armando was very professional, communicative, and very well organized. Calling with ETA every day, letting me know whenever he was leaving for lunch or to pick up the parts needed. He answered all my questions in detail. After they were done, our front yard looked like nothing happened! read more

I was just scammed by two very nice guys. I had a drain back up. I didn't want to snake out the drain myself, so I called a $79 service. They said the snake couldn't clean it out, just like many other reviews here said. Geo said it would cost $400 for his supervisor to come out and see what the problem was. His supervisor couldn't explain the problem well but said said there was something hard like metal blocking the snake because the piping was installed incorrectly years ago. He said it was a big job and would cost $2700 to repair it, and this is their new lower rates to help people out during the covid crisis. Reluctantly, I agreed. They seemed so nice and honest. To my surprise, Geo told me 2 hours later that is was fixed, including a 30 minute parts run to the store. I assume $100 in parts. Really? $1300 an hour for labor? That's like a week of my salary. I suspect I could have unclogged the drain myself but I honestly can't say. Maybe they did need to fix the pipe. I don't know what the real issue was. I asked them to send a before and after picture before they started. They agreed but didn't. Also didn't clean up their plastic runners taped to my floors. Anyway the price they charged is immoral. We set the site visit and Miguel Alba arrived at the appointed time, same day. Miguel explained clearly what was needed to resolve the leak. After replacing the old and not-so- sturdy pipe connecting to the laundry there was still leaking. So the next day he went down the crawl space to find the "root" of the problem. I only got a quote from Elite Rooters. Did not get any repair work done from them because their quote was insanely expensive. 2 stars for responding fairly quickly on yelp, sending over a tech to have a look and give an estimate. The tech was professional enough and was also wearing a mask during this Covid situation. I docked the remaining stars because of their quote. I got a slab leak from a hot water pipe burst underneath the house. Their quote was 1500$ for leak detection while everyone else I've contacted (about 5 or 6 others) as well as internet searches quoted 300$-400$ for the same task. Similarly, for the repiping fix their quota was 2-3 times other quotes I received. They seem to definitely have a high markup or huge overhead. read more

Elite Rooter came out to snake my main line. The plumber did snake it three times but could not unclog the line. He didn't seem too skilled on how to snake a house. There are ways to feel for clogs, stop, rotate, push forward. He didn't seem to know. He didn't fix the problem. I was charged anyway the $79. Then the supervisor came out to try to sell me their hydro jet package which costs either $1500. or $3000 before discounts depending on what you want. I declined. I hired another company the next day. They snaked the line and unclogged it. Problem solved. No expensive hydro jetting needed. The second plumber had more experience and seemed to know how to use the snake machine better. I will never use Elite Rooter again.
