I'm always scouting out for a good burger spot and have had Emmi's on my list for a while. Finally got to try the smashburger here and it was delicious! Their tater tots were cooked to perfection and the staff were beyond welcoming and friendly - we had a great lunch overall and can definitely recommend a visit to Emmi's. We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday (AND Valentine's Day) so we expected it to be packed. The crowds were steady but the staff did a great job of keeping things moving and we really didn't wait long for our food etc. For my drink I couldn't resist their February special - the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Latte (iced). It had a delightful balance of smooth coffee blended with the chocolate and strawberry - I very much enjoyed it but it was insanely sweet - perfect for all those out there with a sweet tooth lol. Hubby ended up with a "golden latte" (hot) - they had "golden milk" on the menu but I asked them to add a double espresso shot to the golden milk concoction of tumeric, ginger and cinnamon and it was excellent! Not too sweet and perfect spice levels. Would get again. For our lunch hubby went with the Southwest Tostada Salad with chicken and I went for the Double Smashburger with mayo instead of burger sauce. Hubby was very happy with his salad and it was presented beautifully. My smashburger was excellent - two quality patties smashed to perfect thinness level with velvety, melty American cheese in between topped with a perfect amount of grilled onions. It had a delectable char flavor and the bread was soft and fluffy - it's a really solid burger overall. Paired with their flawless tater tots it's a great contender in the SGV and I'd get this again. Portions are "just enough" and I appreciated that we were both able to finish our meals without feeling overly stuffed. Prices are a tad high but on par for the area and everything is good quality. Vibes are outdoorsy and fun with hidden bears in their wall art. The owners are the chefs and Sierra Madre natives - they're proud of their roots and are very active in the community. Truly a lovely local business to support! They have free WiFi, a free water station, and a great selection of Emmi's merch, coffees, and items from local artists. Parking is free street parking with several free (timed) lots in the surrounding area. Sierra Madre is an adorable little foothills town and very walkable - a great place to meander and work off your lunch!

Had such a pleasant breakfast here this morning! Ambiance: Super cute cozy cafe vibes, great natural lighting, even a good place to get some work done Service: The cashier was SO kind and had great energy Food: everything was super fresh & delicious! The classic eggs, arugula salad, bacon, toast, potatoes, etc. everything felt not too heavy and seasoned well. It's a good bang for the buck unliked other overpriced brunch spots! The pomegranate iced tea was refreshing and not too sweet as well. Parking might be a bit rough but if you come early enough it's not bad!

Love this place! Been here several times, always great food, clean, comfortable, excellent outdoors when it's nice, counter service very good. I had to loaded breakfast quesadilla with ground sausage. Filled with potatoes, sausage, onions, garlic, I don't remember the rest. The cheeseburger looked outstanding and my niece said it was absolutely delicious. My other niece had a large stack of pancakes and bacon what she loved. We love coming here for the cozy feel of the neighborhood. Obviously, for the great food as well! Highly recommend it

Really busy on a Saturday afternoon with long wait times for food - our order took about 40 minutes to arrive after having been told it would take about 25 minutes. We also didn't love that you order first at the register and then have to look for your own table as it's a bit chaotic and can mean you're left standing for quite a while depending on your luck on what tables are leaving. Pretty much everything is self-service here besides having the food brought out and tables cleaned up. While the food wasn't perfect, it was definitely still tasty and we hope to return to try some of their other menu items. This time around we ordered the Emmi's burger and BLT. The burger was solid with all the hallmarks you'd expect. The patty was perfectly cooked and my bf appreciated the massive pickle they included. The main gripe he had with this burger was there was actually WAY too much sauce to the point where the burger was super soggy and basically falling apart every bite. The BLT was also pretty basic and decent. The bacon was crunchy and delicious, and the bread and lettuce were fine. Again, following the prior trend, there was way too much mayo added which made every bite taste pretty heavy but because the bread was so hard it somewhat helped with softening it. While there was an included pickle here too it wasn't enough to cut through the heavy flavors. Vibes were cute and we found parking in the nearby areas. Would come back to try some of their brunch items!

Emmi's is a quaint little eatery visited by locals. I met my friend for lunch. I had the salad nicoise, which was a hearty portion, crisp green beans, fresh vibrant hard boiled egg with a lemony vinaigrette, and canned tuna (wished it was fresh tuna). My friend had the tostada salad, which she described as tasty.

I came here on a Sunday mid-morning after a hike with a friend. Free street parking was easy to find. You stand in line to order at the counter before finding a table to sit down at. I ordered the Jamaica lemonade and the corned beef hash burrito. Both were great, very filling, and a good portion size. Thankfully, when we arrived, there was plenty of seating, but by the time we finished, the place had filled up. Good solid breakfast spot in this area!

Honestly, we found this place after the gym. It was super cute and in the downtown area of Sierra Madre. We found parking on the side street and walked over. You order first and then get a table. We ordered the unsweetened iced green tea, Dr. Pepper, cranberry orange muffin, chocolate chip cookie, BLT with tater tots, and the chicken club wrap with French fries. The lunch came with a slice of a pickle too. The cranberry orange muffin was dense and not too sweet. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy on the edges and soft in the center. The BLT and chicken club wrap were perfect. It was a great lunch and filled us up for the remainder of the day. I would definitely want to come back for sure and try breakfast and coffee.

Cute little cafe place ! They have a little outdoor seating area that I like. Their sandwiches are delicious and their drinks are very refreshing. The service was very pleasant and we received our order rather quickly. Try this place out !

Emmi's might be my best brunch spot ever! No insane wait times, no basic plates pretending to be special, just really good food and kind service. It is toddler friendly, very neighborhood coded, and located in Sierra Madre where it feels like a charming little cabin town moment. Everything we tried was delicious and filling, especially the corned beef hash!! My toddler is deeply loyal to the breakfast muffin and tater tots which are both equally amazing for adults too. We went two days in a row and I regret nothing.

After trying Poppy's in Arcadia, it was only natural to try out their breakfast/lunch restaurant in Sierra Madre. In contrast to Poppy's this spot is a full restaurant with plenty of tables inside and outside with servers to deliver your food after ordering at the counter. We just missed the rush this morning so most of their pastries were gone, but knowing how delicious they are at Poppy's I can understand why. Today we tried out a breakfast sandwich with bacon, a side of crispy potatoes and a breakfast burrito along with a Pom Iced Tea. The food was good, and service friendly as well. It wasn't particularly unique or flavorful compared to other breakfasts we've had anywhere else but it was nice and it seems to be popular in the area. The decor is industrial and slightly eclectic, clean, and running smoothly with the amount of staff on hand. In comparison between the two: we LOVE Poppy's in Arcadia, but we like Emmi's too. Their baked goods are the star, drinks are excellent, and the two share an avocado toast dish which is to die for.

Pretty solid breakfast/brunch spot for the area! It gets busy but ample seating inside and outside. I enjoyed the salmon toast which came with a tasty salad mix. Good ratio of salmon to savory yogurt beneath it and bread was just right from a texture standpoint, not too hard and chewy. Solid coffee and tea options too. I'm a fan! Relatively quick even with all the customers.

Fantastic brunch place that is packed on weekends. Their menu offers both brunch and lunch options, and you order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. Large interior with some outdoor seats as well. The food is great and full of flavor. The staff are very friendly. They have self serve water and utensils.

this place has my HEART. I don't live nearby but I would drive to sierra madre specifically for Emmi's. An immaculate energy in that place, from the food to the staff. I got the Emmi's burger--one of my favorite burgers I've ever had. You can tell the ground beef and all their ingredients are quality. It feels like it was made with love. And the true show stopper accompaniment for me was the PICKLE. Lord, when I say I died. I could not figure out for the life of me what the hell was on that pickle recipe--and this is what I am paid to do for living (not kidding). I kept thinking there was some magical exotic herb that I couldn't decipher...it was the perfect balance of freshness, zesty spice, snappiness. Lo and behold, after asking one of the staff where they got their pickles, he said they MAKE THEM IN HOUSE. Guys. Who makes pickles in house. The level of love in the details. This is hard to come by these days. Just another shout out to the staff--my bf and I kept commenting how personable everyone was. There was a mix up on our order and we had to wait a bit for the food. The sweet woman who made the mistake was super apologetic and more than made up for it in a piece of cake and free coffee. I got a cappuccino and I am picky about my espresso drinks. That espresso was dialed in and the milk was steamed to that perfect temperature window. Another staff member who we spoke to was so genuine and sweet. Thanks to the business owners for creating a place that cares about their food. I can't wait to return. read more

Tried three different sandwiches and they were all a hit! Reuben, BLT, and Artichoke. Loved how the ingredients tasted so fresh and was very impressed that they used heirloom tomatoes in our BLT. Best sandwiches I've had in the entire area and that's not an overstatement. Def worth a try! read more

A tremendously successful opening for this lovely new restaurant in Sierra Madre. We've eaten here a couple of times and taken food to go. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. We've had sandwiches, fries, baked goods, and coffee. The coffee is a bit bitter, not quite the same level as the rest of the offerings, but that's a tiny quibble with this wonderful new spot. On a whim I decided to stop in for breakfast while out walking my dog. Great decision. Got 2 burritos - vegetarian and corned beef hash. We have had lots of breakfast burritos but these were some of the best we have every had. Full of great flavors and enormous. Excellent sandwich stop! Best chicken sandwich in town, I got the greek chicken sammy for lunch today. The bread was soft and the Mediterranean flavors were big and tasty. I just wanted to give a big shout-out to this location and the employees here. They are fantastic, especially those working on the Friday evening I was in! I've visited now a few times for lunch and dinner and they are always so patient, courteous, and friendly. Their dinner recommendations have been awesome; I've really loved everything I've ordered here (especially the burger salad - superb). Prices are fair and the portions are good. Seating is plentiful as well, and the free wifi is a major bonus. I really feel like it's a budding "neighborhood" spot after taking over from Beantown and I'm a happy returning customer. read more

What if Beantown was run by Poppycake people? Good things happen. This place is awesome and a welcome addition to town. Good coffee, great breakfast options and I absolutely love the grab n go burritos. The made to order burrito is substantially larger and one I consider a treat. I love the range of options and am already guilty of having a couple of those grab n gos during the week. They're just too easy and delicious. I also love that they have oatmeal on the menu and Poppycake pastries in their counter. I can't wait to try lunch here. If it's anything like breakfast, it'll be great. read more

I'm about halfway through sampling the menu over half a dozen visits and I can say that the food here is awesomely good, and appropriately portioned. It was no surprise to me to find that the owners also own Poppycake Bakery in Sierra Madre as well. Try the smash burger, the Reuben, the potato salad, and If they have it, the beef chili!!!! All are fantastic! read more

The food is farm-to-table fresh, there are plenty of healthy options while still leaving room for indulgence when you want that, and the coffee/ espresso is delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant and approachable, and even the music fits the vibe perfectly. Love, love, love this place! read more

Amazing sandwiches! The staff is so incredible and made sure we had everything we needed! MOMS - there are baby wipes in the restroom and they are kid friendly, especially if you are solo parenting which i was today! I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the sandwiches. read more

Emmi's is a hidden gem in Sierra Madre where you can have a great time. It is situated away from the city, this small café offers an amazing atmosphere through which one can enjoy brunch with a friend or even lunch as a family. The menu offers different types of meals that are so good because they are made using fresh products and good combination of ingredients. One example of such dishes is the avocado toast which contains very ripe avocados put on a piece of bread made by hand and later drizzled with drops of olive oil plus salt that comes right from sea. Such refreshing plates should be well matched with coffees found in the place whose preparation takes quite some time, or their natural juices obtained from squeezed fruits. The staffs here are always on your neck giving you everything you need to make sure it becomes unforgettable even when you went back home and may be wished it was something more than just going out for dinner. read more

The food was very good and healthy. It's not exactly a full service restaurant. You order the food at the front counter. When your order is ready they will bring it to your table. If you want water, you have to get it yourself. The people working there are very friendly. It's a nice atmosphere in there. The place is not very big, but they also have some tables outside. read more

If I could give more stars I would. This is one of our Favorite places . The food it GREAT and the Service is AMAZING! My boys love the grab and go option on the way to school. Its a great spot to meet some friends and enjoy great food. Highly Highly recommend trying this place out. read more

I have enjoyed Emmi's twice now for breakfast and lunch. Miy breakfast experience was excellent and I wanted to try lunch. My favorite burger is from In-N-Out. If you do like them you really must try Emmi's Smash Burger. Two thin patties, so the edges are crispy, and their special sauce on an excellent bun. Try not to go when it is busy as it slows done their service. Their staff is great, friendly, and attentive. While I miss the den ambiance of Bean Town, this is a bright, no-nonsense open dining space. I will be going back. read more

Emmi's is a nice small business. Everyone was kind and welcoming. I came during lunch time and ordered the chicken cutlet and the Emmi's burger. All the food was flavorful! Our dishes came with a couple slices of pickles and I don't typical like pickles but these are house made and have the right amount of tang and crunch. I definitely recommend to come try this spot with your friends and family. read more

Emma's succeeds where its predecessor failed: it has very good coffee--from the drip style to its cappuccinos. And if you're a coffee place in this town, hell, in any town, that's Job One. Job Two, good hearty food at reasonable prices. And delivered with a smile. Glad to visit and we'll be back for sure. read more

There were many crowds of happy and jolly people enjoying the weather with lots of laughter and smiles all around. The bar itself on the inside is pretty crowded and tight to order, but the bartender is friendly and does allow for samples so that you can decide what you want to order. I asked to sample the blonde which I really liked, and my friends sampled the Mystic Merrow Red which I liked as well, as well as the IPA which was delicious, however I decided I wanted to order the Blonde and one of my friends asked for the same. When we received our beers we noticed that instead of looking clear the way the sample looked, the beers we received were pretty hazy and we deduced that we got the Hefenweizen instead. Although this minor snaffoo, we ended up liking the Hefenweizen allot. I usually am not a fan of Hefenweizens but this was very refreshing and not too heavy for me so we kept the beers and we sat outside enjoying the weather. I really loved the vibe of this bar and I wish I lived closer so that I could come here more often. Now that I know about this little gem, if I'm ever in the area I will definitely stop by again!
