I love exploring Wicker Park and I've been meaning to try this new joint since it opened earlier this summer. I finally got the chance to go for lunch with some friends and I ordered the fire sushi burrito. Note: you order up front and they'll give you a number to bring the food to you when it's ready. The fire sushi burrito ($12) was delicious and really spicy..hence the name. I got really full after eating just half of one and needed helping finishing the other half. If you are indecisive and are with a friend who likes to share food, I would suggest getting two different burritos and sharing it with each other. It's a bit pricey but the portion is big so it's a fair price. It's just a shame that you can't really save the leftover for later since it contains raw fish. If you don't like raw fish, they also have bibimbap burrito or fried rice that you could try. read more

Fish was fresh and overall it was pretty delicious. not extremely exceptional, but I may be harsh because I'm a huge sushi fan. although this is my first time eating a sushi burrito and I just found it kind of hard/messy to eat... and I wish there was a higher fish to everything else ratio. Was aiming on hitting up En Hakkore (1.0) on a friend's suggestion but they were closed so came to 2.0 instead. 2.0 normally has better upgrades, right? (Developer jokes, sorry) Was super excited when I found out 2.0 had sushi burritos and tacos and immediately ordered the soft shell crab taco and an order of the spicy wings. Taco was difficult to eat; great for instagram; and explosive to the taste buds. You get hit with the salty crunch of the deep fried seaweed taco shell. Some savory from the crab, then there's spicy and sweet from whatever sauce they put in it. You can never go wrong with korean wings. Outside was coated perfectly without being greasy or soggy. My friends ordered the kimchi and bulgogi fries. Skip the kimchi fries unless you can eat quickly as they get soggy. Bulgogi fries were a dream. We ate them so fast, I thought we dreamt of ordering them. I didn't get to try the sushi burritos but apparently they were really good and filling! read more

I think this has to be the best sushiritto place in Chicago as of now. (I have yet to try Yuzuchicago) The service is kind of a self-serve deal where you grab cups of water and to-go boxes yourself. However, the hostess or cook does serve your food. The burritos are $12 which I think is fair for the price since the burritos are quite large. Ceviche burrito - Looooved this one! It was so unique with the tang from the citrus. I tried the rice by itself, and they definitely dressed it with rice vinegar! They don't skimp out on the ingredients and jam-pack it. Super refreshing and very light! I highly recommend this. Kimchi fries - My favorite fries are waffle fries. I love kimchi. Do order this. Enough said. Fire Burrito - Okay, I wasn't expecting much spice from this because it reminded me of a tuna roll. It actually has a really nice kick. (If you don't like spicy food, I don't recommend this one) This one was nice, I enjoyed it. It tasted what I expected it to taste like. It was a great experience! I would definitely come back if I was in the area or if I were to show my friends around. One thing though is that it's kind of hard to eat because of the paper lining. Perhaps foil? Ever since I tried Sushirrito from San Francisco, I've been dreaming about the day Chicago would follow the trend. Finally when some restaurants started offering their take on it, the reviews were not good. En Hakkore decided to open a second location mainly focusing on sushi burritos. So after many promising reviews, I knew I had to try it out for myself. En Hakkore 2.0 is set up like a self serve restaurant: order at the counter, fill your own water, and grab your own utensils, napkins, and sauces. If you have any leftovers, you can also pick up a takeout box. For food, I ordered the fire sushi burrito (spicy tuna, sweet potato, flakes, plumguac, lettuce, cucumber, avocado, jalapeño, red pepper, and eel sauce). The portion size is very generous; I had to split it between two meals. You would think it's full of fillers like rice and veggies, but it was well balanced. The flavors worked well together and the spice level wasn't overwhelming. Overall, it was a solid sushi burrito. My sister ordered the tuna poke salad (spicy tuna, arugula, mix greens, edamame, guacamole, sweet potato, cucumber, beets, green onion, picked radish, carrots, sesame seeds, and gochujang dressing). Again, generous portion size and great variety of ingredients but it was really over dressed. We couldn't taste anything besides the dressing. We also shared an order of kimchi fries (waffle fries with sauté kimchi, green onions, and plum sour cream). I loved the crunch on the waffle fries, but I thought they seemed to lack on the kimchi flavor. It was probably because they again piled on the sauce. The sushi burrito satisfied my craving, but everything else here was just ok. They are still fairly new, so hopefully they will fix some of the kinks. Definitely stop by and give their sushi burrito a try if you're in the area. I'll probably be back to give their other entrees a shot. read more

I honestly didn't know what to expect with the sushi burrito but it ended up being pretty damn good. It was not nearly as messy as I imagined and en hakkore 2.0 did a great job of being great at service and also super friendly. The food also came out quickly! My friend and I both got the crunch burrito and downed it. My only regret is that the special smelled and looked amazing and I wish we would have gotten that as well. And the sushirittos are a great addition to an already great menu. I've had the ceviche sushiritto (pictured) that has all the awesome ingredients in a neatly presented burrito. Savory Poke Bowl. No sesame seeds because they use a mix of the regular and black seeds, the latter of which I'm allergic to. They use a balanced mix of vegetables, rice, sauce, and fish. You can add a slightly Korean flare with the gochujang (Korean spicy sauce) they offer on the side or by adding black/purple rice to the base. Food quality is high. Fresh vegetables and fish. Perfectly cooked rice. Poke bowl portion was filling for $12. Maybe large for a lunch portion, but perfect for dinner. Everything including the tacos, burritos, and sides looked good. Not busy for a weekday lunch and food was served quickly. Casual feeling with a little outdoor seating. Decor is moody and hip. You probably will walk by it wondering if this is the right spot. From my two experiences of trying sushi burritos, this was by far better. The nori was actually bite-able and not falling apart or tough when taking a bite. The fish was fresh and stuffed with fresh veggies and flavor. Hubs loved kimchee chorizo fried rice but wanted a side of Cho chu Jang to make it spicer. The pa-jeon was thick and crispy! Different location same great food! I used to visit their old joint on Damen when I lived in bucktown. The first time I tried their menu I knew this business had legs. I was visiting Chicago for the weekend and chanced upon this resto as I was walking to the train. There were a lot of poke shops on the Milwaukee Avenue strip and I went to this one because it had a huge sign "poke and sushi burrito" -- I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I just walked in. haha. I ended up having the savory poke bowl (tuna & salmon) which was huge and filling, fresh cuts of fish -- well worth my $12. YUM! But the highlight of my visit was the Sushi Taco. It was super good! I saw it on the menu and was curious, and it came with a nori (seaweed) shell with all its crunchy goodness! It paired well with the fish that I ordered - ceviche. Its a little pricey for a taco $6 but it was worth every penny. I'm back in DC and i still dream about it! I don't think i will find anything like that here. Tasty burritos, but not huge. Didn't really leave the place feeling super full and satisfied, but that's usually how I feel at any sushi place if I don't want to spend a lot of money. The sushirittos were decent. I split the white tuna and fire tuna with someone so I could try both. Ate it plain without putting soy sauce or gojujang on it. It was good, but I'd have to say the one other time ive had a sushiritto at a regular sushi restaurant (that didn't specialize in sushirittos), it was much better. WOW! This place blew me away back when I first ordered through Caviar in October. The crunch+fire sushi burrito is the best damn sushi burrito I could have found. It is spicy, but so so worth the pain lol. I have ordered 3 times from them now and I have yet to be disappointed. I have been wanting to try the other sushi burritos, taco and fries but I cannot seem to get myself to stray from the original order. It is just that good and filling - great portions might I add. The reason I knocked a star off is because they only deliver through Caviar which is cool, but it is a little pricey when it comes to all the additional fees.. Especially if you're ordering for just yourself. I am always more than willing to pay it, but, running specials on that or something would be a neat idea for the future as well! It was randomly placed and I didn't enjoy warm sweet potato in the middle of of poke bowl. There were huge chunks of iceberg lettuce which did not enhance the bowl at all. All in all, I think I like regular sushi better but this place definitely had a nice charm to it. They offer a few drinks and I loved the kimchi! Y'all need to slow your role, Chicagoans. I do love your city, but those Yelp reviews though. Let me keep it real with you. The bulgogi fries were on point. Flavor for days. Good crisp fries covered with tender beef and sauce. Its something you can share with a friend as a side or appetizer. So I'm dishing out an extra star for that. The tacos though, super disappointed. Like I'm body shaming myself right now. Super fried--even the damn nori "tortilla" is fried. Over sauced. Over stuffed with rice. Just generally a bad taco and definitely not worth the hype of a 4+ star restaurant. I ordered the Spider-Man (softshell crab) and the Fire and Crunch. The presentation of the Spider-Man is worthy of the 'Gram but let's stop there. The breading on the crab was sub-par. Overfried. It's perched atop a podium of rice and a heavily mayo-d salad of something (cucumber? Crab salad?) 75% of the interior of the taco shell is just that. Filler. What this taco needs is something tangy to offset the richness of the fried crab and mayo bomb filling. What was served was unbalanced and hard to keep eating. I left food on the plate, which I never do. The other taco had a fried shrimp that looked like it was on the Atkins diet ok? It must have been sliced/butterflied. The thickness of the shrimp was super pinner, not much more thick than a flat shoelace. And they fried the hell out that sad little shrimp. It was more breading than shrimp meat. Looked like Posh Spice in a bubble jacket. Maybe people are impressed because the food is "different" or they think it's original. Once the novelty wears off, you're just left with mediocre food. Nothing really wrong with mediocre food when it's reviewed that way. But in no way is this a 4.5 star restaurant and if you are dishing out 5 stars to this place you really need to check yourself. read more
