What started as a backup plan on Father's Day ended up becoming our new favorite sushi spot! We originally planned to eat at another sushi restaurant, but they told us they couldn't fit us in. Thankfully, that led us to discover this hidden gem that we probably never would have tried otherwise. We came with our toddler, and having high chairs available was a huge plus for us. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but honestly, that's part of its charm. It feels cozy, welcoming, and has really cool lighting that gives the place a great atmosphere. We started with the cucumber salad and gyoza. The cucumber salad was incredibly refreshing, and the gyoza was so good that our son absolutely DEVOURED it. For sushi, we ordered the Rock N Roll, Caterpillar Roll, Super Star Roll, and Dragon Roll. Every single roll was delicious. My personal favorite was the Super Star Roll--it was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The Rock N Roll was a close second with the perfect spicy kick. The service was quick, and our server was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Honestly, I'm so glad the other restaurant turned us away because we ended up finding a place that we like even more. We'll definitely be back, and this has officially become our new go-to sushi spot! read more

Really wanted to like this place, so much so we went back the next weekend to give them another chance. You know I love good sushi and seafood in general!! Space: The atmosphere is inviting. About 9 or 10 seats that mostly sit 4 at the most and 1 table for 6-7 near the front door. The first Saturday we were sat at the front, don't recommend the A/C blows downward right on your face. The following Saturday we were sat at the back side. The kitchen window is located here, so if you're sitting on the two seaters expect interruptions due to staff taking the plated orders from this window and moving the dish cart around here. Service: The ladies are nice. However, on both occasions they forgot items that came with the bento and the Omakase, and our beers. That's that, nothing too big or small on service. F O O D: They have all the general rolls, and they do have their own special called Onotoro (I think), a tuna roll, it was good and would fit into a "general rolls" category. They also have a special menu, features premium tuna cuts and house specials, see pics. Apps we had spicy edamame (sweet side), combo tempura, fried calamari (came with sweet and sour sauce instead of spicy mayo) - straight forward on taste for these. Mains: See pics! -Uni Hand Roll (Special menu) - They paired it w/ mint leaf I believe and it was off putting. This leaf was not listed on the menu but we're open to trying new styles and it did not hit! -Omakase - It doesn't come out tiered like the photo lol.. Seems like it would be a show stopper and good advertising if I had posted it. They also didn't explain the fish, I had to ask what it all was - Typically the chef or server explains Omakase. If you don't mind the chef choosing the nigiri, then this is a good starter compared to their individual nigiri pricing. -Chicken Katsu Bento - Chicken was crispy and juicy. Came with salad, gyoza, tempura, Cali roll, the forgotten miso soup -Poke Bowl (Special menu) - We didn't ask what type of fish since it was chef choice - It was red tuna and maybe white tuna (not premium), however this bowl was on the sweeter side of the palate. It wasn't our preference, it was a no for us. If you like sweet raw fish, this might be for you. -Uni Nigiri - For it being out of season, this was my favorite dish. Straight forward buttery goodness. -Yellow Tail Roll - At new sushi joints I always order basic rolls just incase **I really wanted to try the Tuna Tataki, it only comes with 3pcs for $18 but pictured on their menu is 6!?!?! Let me know about this one fellow eaters. I missed getting a pick of the Bento/Ramen menu Overall, it's A-OK for us. For two people on both occasions, we paid around $160. Decided to come back and try this place again and there were many improvements! They made the back dining area less cramped, and added booths as well! Tried the Chirashi Bowl this time and it was good. I think the one thing that really stands out to me here is how delicious their sushi rice is. Waitress was attentive and engaged with us. Sushi rolls were wonderful-We got the Caterpillar, Seared Scallop and Super Star. I found this place on Instagram from one of the vegan foodies I follow. I heard they had a plant-based/vegan menu, and I immediately added it to my list to try! It took a couple weeks, but I finally visited with a friend, and we loved this place! We got here right when it opened at 11 am on a Sunday. We were greeted promptly and seated. The server gave us our menus, asked if we had been there before (we hadn't), and walked through the menus with us. I told him I was a vegan, and he directed me to the plant-based/vegan menu page. So many options for a vegan at this omni restaurant! The atmosphere was clean and fairly quiet. Granted, we were the first ones there, but even as it started filling up, it wasn't loud in there at all. The tables were close together but had enough wiggle room. The food was delicious. My friend is omni and loved her food, too. She also tried the vegan karaage and veggie spring rolls I ordered and liked both. The veggie spring rolls were the crispiest spring rolls I've ever had. They were SO good! The karaage was really yummy, too. I got the vegan boss roll, and it was so tasty. The tempura flakes were a great contrast to the creaminess of the avocado and the softness of the tofu (vegan cali). I couldn't pick out the taste of the vegan tuna much, but I'm sure it played its part in the whole flavor profile. Our server was great. He was very attentive, informative, friendly, and personable. Toward the end of our meal, he came by to tell me that the sushi chef and owner recognized me from the restaurant he previously owned in Bonney Lake! The chef owner was working hard (the restaurant had gotten quite busy in the hour and a half we were there), but he still chatted with us a bit over the partition. The server mentioned he's opened multiple sushi restaurants and will be opening another one in Olympia in the future. I can't wait to come back and try more of their vegan options. Went here for lunch today, and the experience went downhill immediately. Our server was slow to take our order and never checked on us once to see how the food was. I ordered the bento box, and the chicken katsu was terrible -- the rice was mushy, which is hard to mess up. When I mentioned the issue to the server, he just stared at me and then handed me the bill. No apology, no acknowledgment. I won't be returning.
