We've been coming to epic for years and are satisfied every time. The service is always excellent. They are attentive and always on top of our needs. We had a reservation and were seated within minutes. The restaurant itself is in a great location as well. The food is always fantastic. I never veer from a steak because it's delicious every time. They have many choices for sides that are all generous portions. My favorite was the corn risotto. It was so yummy I could eat the whole thing! Their desserts were amazing!! The sizes were enormous so we got a good laugh when we all ordered Individual cakes. We will definitely be coming back

We had dinner reservations for a Saturday night to celebrate mine and my oldest son's birthday, while he was in town for the weekend. I had made reservations a month in advance and was really looking forward to this visit. It was our first time here. When we arrived on time for our table, we were brought upstairs to a very small, 4 person square table, and the hostess was dragging over a chair. We were a party of 5. This table was way too small, so we had to wait for them to figure out where our table was, and why we didn't have the said table ready. This is an enormous restaurant with loads of larger tables, some with just couples, and many with teens in prom attire. Needless to say, we spotted a round table with 6 seats, was told it was for someone else (excuse me?), but was gladly seated there with no questions. This would be 5 star, but I took a star for the lack of table. I am still wondering, where was my reservation for a table for 5 people?? I really don't know. We had some great drinks. Birthday boy had a Nail in the Coffin, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I would skip the bread basket here. I think $9 for bread is over the top. It should just be given to customers without charge. A few of us tried the French onion soup, and the lobster bisque. Very tasty! Dinner was an assortment of many tastes. Keep in mind, sides and even butter is extra, so just a reminder when ordering. We tried the petite filet mignon, prime aged sirloin, boneless short rib, Epic burger, with sides of truffle fries, broccoli and cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts, and creamed spinach. Large portions and very good. Birthday boy wanted a S'mores Martini and we ordered 2 slices of cake. The Epic cake and the cheesecake with caramel and praline. Massive size does not even begin to describe it. We all shared the birthday cakes, and even took them to go, it was so much. It was a great dinner, our server Lisa was very attentive and very friendly. She took very good care of us.

I was in Mooresville for business traveling alone and wanted to grab an early dinner before heading to my hotel. The bar at Epic opens at 4 with the appetizer menu only until 5 pm. First of all, walking into Epic felt like walking into a 1940s or 1950s elegant restaurant and bar. It's lovely with lots of wood and character. I found a seat in the bar and started with a Blueberry Lemondrop Martini. It was fantastic. Not too sweet, and the hint of blueberry was just right. I ordered a Caesar salad and the bacon wrapped scallops. Both were absolutely to die for. The scallops were perfectly cooked and were served in clam shells with creamed spinach. The salad was a generous portion. Service was good. Had an incredible meal. Very filling for an appetizer and salad. Loves the menu and can't wait to return.

Phenomenal restaurant! We were down for vacation and did one fancy night out at Epic with the kids. Definitely not the cheapest option in town but the food and service were outstanding! I got the filet and shrimp (Cajun style), everyone else got the filet. Kids ate almost all of it and we had the rest for steak and eggs the next morning!

Love this restaurant. The drink prices are very good and on the cheaper end compare to other restaurants. The food was good. Steak was tender. The dessert was also good. Good portion and price is nice too. The service is nice. They are attentive. The ambiance is nice too. Very pretty and fancy place. They are in the heart of downtown so either street parking or parking in the back. They do accept walk in and it's a pretty quick wait time when you go on weekdays.

Ask the Community - Epic Chophouse

Do they have a private dining area for groups such as for a wedding rehearsal dinner?

Upstairs has a large, divided dining room, so yes, I believe the area can be separated from other diners.

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes. You have to ask. It's only a few items, hamburger, steak medallions, ribs, and I think a pasta. Very basic items. My daughter like he steak medallions. She gets 2 and a side. My son did not like the burger. Said it was overdone and bland.

I received a text to confirm my reservation for 6.17.21 at 5:30pm through yelp but I'm only allowed to make new ones? Very time consuming

Same experience here a month ago. Forces you to call them to confirm! Wish they would fix this.

What is the dress code like? I do not want to over dress.

My wife and I dressed business casual, but I think even that may not have been necessary. I wouldn't wear a T shirt, shorts, or flip flops for example, but I think you can get by with a nice pair of jeans and decent shirt.

Besides the free valet, what is the parking like?

Parking is available behind the restaurant, parking lot is partially gravel, partially paved.

I ordered the pork belly bao buns, but they missed the mark for me. Coming from NY, I'm used to bao buns being marshmallow-soft and pillowy, but these were a hard, and the pork belly itself was quite tough. Our wonderful waitress noticed I only took one bite and brought the manager over. He explained that the cut is naturally mostly fat, which I understand, but the texture just wasn't quite right because it should be tender not tough. I declined a replacement dish, and he kindly credited it on our bill, though the interaction felt a little awkward. My husband's salmon unfortunately had a very heavy mustard flavor. The spinach farrotto underneath was quite salty. Since there isn't a kids menu which is fine, my daughter ordered the burger plain, but it wasn't really a hit for her. My coconut guava Paloma was okay definitely the best part of my meal though it tasted a little artificial. The ambiance has a lot of potential, and they had live music playing. However, it was a bit too loud for the space, forcing guests to raise their voices just to speak to each other. We also noticed our table hadn't been wiped down thoroughly before we sat down. The absolute silver lining of our evening was our waitress. She was incredibly sweet, highly attentive, and took great care of us. She is truly the reason I am giving 3 stars. She mentioned that they offer a completely different menu for brunch. Because the setting is so pretty and the service was so good, we might give them another chance for brunch down the road, but we likely wouldn't return for dinner. Proof that lighting and plating can hide a lot! Captured these beautiful views last night, even though the dinner itself was a bit of a letdown.

I noticed they also have a stage for live performances, which is a nice touch--I'd love to come back when there's a show. I ordered a Tequila Sunrise, Long Island Iced Tea, and my usual go-to, Liquid Marijuana--all were really good. Each of those drinks was around $14, although I'm not sure if the price ever changes depending on the night or bartender. My partner had what I believe was called Smoke on the Water #3, which tasted great and was somewhere between $8-$11. However, his drink didn't come with the smoky presentation (he had ordered it twice) we later saw a couple get closer to closing time--maybe it was just too busy earlier for them to do that little extra. One thing I really appreciated: no strict dress code. I was wearing a tank top t-shirt and still felt welcome, unlike the bar next door (possibly a dive bar) that turned me away. It's refreshing to find a place with great vibes, strong drinks, and an inclusive atmosphere. They also serve food, though I didn't get to try any this time. I forgot to snap a picture of the menu--sorry! But I'll definitely be back again. This place has good energy, solid drinks, and a chill environment worth returning to.

From load-in onward, management seemed far more concerned with monitoring and restricting the performance than supporting live entertainment. Before the show even began, there were already complaints about potential volume levels simply from seeing the sound equipment and production setup. The band and crew made extensive efforts to accommodate every concern throughout the night. The drummer used hot rods instead of regular sticks, the FOH engineer kept the band under very controlled volume levels, and even the lighting setup was intentionally kept minimal and non-intrusive out of respect for the venue. Despite all of those accommodations, management continued hovering throughout the evening and interrupting over very minor issues. It created an unnecessarily tense atmosphere for both the performers and production crew. Live music requires a certain level of comfort and trust between the venue and the people running the show, and unfortunately that never existed here. In addition, one of the bartenders consistently came across as dismissive and talked down to members of the band and crew during the night. At one point, they stated that this was "a bar that happens to have music," and proceeded to lecture me on how sound works and how customers would not be able to hear each other if the band was too loud. This was particularly frustrating considering the extensive efforts already being made by both the band and audio crew to keep levels controlled and respectful for the room. Everyone involved on the production side remained professional and cooperative throughout the evening, but the overall attitude toward live music and production made the experience unnecessarily stressful. As someone who works behind the scenes to help create a professional live experience, it was disappointing to feel like every aspect of the production was treated as a problem rather than part of the entertainment guests came to see. If a venue only wants extremely quiet background music with little to no production presence, they would likely be better suited booking solo acoustic performers instead of full live bands with sound and lighting support.
