Great experience, food, service, and mood. Beautiful historic building with great charm for an evening out. Artisan breads were a yummy appetite. Our table enjoyed filets, scallops, and the kabobs. The kabobs were beautiful, by the way. The rest of the table was particularly surprised. Best scallops to date - 5 on a plate and hearty in size. Filets cooked perfectly. Our next out was to celebrate twin birthdays. With one having an allergy, our waiter (shout out Matt!) did a sweet job of making sure both of them got to blow out a candle. I'm giving two stars just to be generous...and that's only due to our friendly waiter. Even though the restaurant didn't seem full at 6 the bar area was. This led to delays in beverage service. The upstairs area to the left seems to be just decorated for a bad hotel 6 conference room with a beach theme playing on a tv. Lastly, the food was just awful. The steak special with a wine reduction was completely tasteless....the fish special was just yuck. We tried to switch plates to see if it appealed different to each of us and the same result...blah Definitely not a place I'll be putting on a revisit list. $300 for a dinner we'd have enjoyed more at McDonald's read more

3 weeks ago we downsized to a brand new home in a small country town. My oldest son who lives in Alexandria came to visit and spent his birthday with us. He loves a great steak dinner so a week after his birthday, a week because unpacking for 2 seniors is slow and exhausting we made reservations at Epic Sunday night August 24th. Happy and excited to be out again we got a drink at the bar because our table wasnt ready waited about 10 mins then went to our table to be seated. I did ask if we could sit at a booth table becuz my husband has a bad back. Hostess said sorry thats a table for 2. We sat down talking laughing our waitress came over I mentioned I liked her earrings she thanked me and asked if it was a special occasion I said yes my sons belated birthday (who happens to be pretty handsome some people say he looks like Ben Affleck and some say Tom Hanks) I thought she would kind of join in the fun. She patted him on the back leaned in toward his ear and said "You look thrilled to be here" He looked startled shrugged his shoulders and said what was that about? I dont mean to sound petty but it was mean and condescending . We waited a long time for her to offer desert So i adked and she said "if u give me a minute I'll tell you. We have been to Epic many times and since its actually closer to us now we planned to try and stop in once a month. Not anymore The food is superb the ambiance perfect but I doubt we'll go back. Christmas dinner here was fantastic as usual! There were 8 of us and we were very well taken care of. Steaks were delicious I was told , I got the sea bass which was incredible. THIS PLACE DONT MISS. I loved my experience here. This was my second time and it did not disappoint. Everything was amazing. Both times I've gotten their beef Wellington. If you know your food, you know a beef Wellington is a tricky thing to get right, but they do it every time. The Wagyu meatballs were the best meatballs I've had (besides my Italian mothers recipe). I don't like shrimp scampi, but that was amazing too! Even though I was completely full, you know I had to get dessert. This cake hit the spot. Lastly, I'd like to mention the service. This place has a chill laid back vibe. Kinda reminds me of an restaurant I used to frequent back home in Upstate NY. We sat at the bar & had the pleasure of being served by Rudy the bartender. He was busy, yet attentive, and very accommodating. Went with the calamari for an app. Super tasting! Also, I love when marinara is served on the side as opposed to that chili sauce..anywho- I digress. It was delicious! For our entrees, we got the Featured dish of the day: Surf n Turf (sliced steak, scallops, shrimp on top of mashed potatoes) & Chicken Parm. Both were really good. My only suggestion would be that Chicken either be fileted or beaten down a bit to flatten out. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Will be back. read more

We celebrated my son's 21st birthday. The food was amazing. One waitress was older and seemed in a hurry but she was still good and attentive. The other one was younger and absolutely great. The cocktails were out of this world and reasonably priced compared with other restaurants similar to them. They charged $15 just to bring my own cake which I thought was ridiculous especially with the money we spent . Regardless, we will definitely be back! read more

We went to Epic Chophouse recently to celebrate a birthday. The food was impeccable and our steaks were cooked exactly as we like. Cocktails were also very good, and the ambiance was beautiful. The place was jam packed on a Thursday, and our service was still excellent. Lucas was our waiter and I cannot say enough kind things about him- this young man is so poised, provides excellent customer service, and is flawless in his communication with guests- he was so friendly and took excellent care of us. Epic Chophouse was a really good experience. Upon entering we were greeted immediately by the hostess. She was polite and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised at the seating as we were lead upstairs to another seating area. The establishment was much larger than it looked. Our server was friendly as he gave us the specials and took our drink orders. My husband got a Malbec and I got the Cocololo Lemon Martini. His small back was rich and buttery. He was offered by the bottle or glass. My Martini was colorful and flavorful. We started with a bowl of lobster bisque, which was divine. I would absolutely come back just for that. It also gave me hope towards their seafood as well. For dinner I ordered the ribeye with truffle fries, and my husband ordered the tomahawk with truffle fries. We knew it was a lot of food, but we had eaten lunch in hopes of finishing meals. We could not finish either ribeye Tomahawk or fries. Everything was good. The fries were flavorful, but next time we definitely wouldn't get two orders. My husband's steak was a little under seasoned and I am not one who is big into adding salt to my food but does definitely need a little bit extra. I think I would've felt the same about my ribeye, but it came with a garlic and herb butter on top that was really delicious and that little extra umphto my steak. Lastly, we finished with a slice of chocolate cake and their white sangria. These two items definitely would pass over next time. The chocolate cake tasted like it was frozen cake and their white sangria was orange flavored which threw us off because normally when we order a white sangria it's peach, that's not really on them . Overall, though everything was delicious, and this is definitely a place. We will be back for our next date. We're excited to try their seafood now that we have had their meats. read more

I've never reviewed this before?! We LOVE this restaurant and have been here for almost every special occasion I can think of, I can't believe I haven't sung it's praises yet. The last time we dined here was for my father's 80th birthday. We had a party of 4 and one of those was our extremely picky eater teenage son. Even he loved it. I'm always impressed that there is something for almost everyone on the menu. I don't eat red meat but there are many fish, pasta and chicken dishes on the menu. Speaking of red meat, though, they have a really great selection for anyone who likes pretty much any cut of beef. The restaurant itself has a cozy, upscale (yet I can get away with wearing jeans and a nice shirt) sort of vibe. There is an almost entire wall of wine bottles at the back and a good sized full service bar. Anytime we have been in, we are always treated well. Our servers have always been kind and attentive. Tip: If you plan on getting dessert, save lots of room because they have slices of cake about the size of your head, I've never seen anything like it! read more

This place is amazing and I'm so glad that I'll be moving closer to here in a couple months! I'm a sucker for some beef Wellington and when I heard they had it, I HAD to go. There aren't a lot of restaurants nearby that have it so that's a plus. To start off, we ordered drinks. I got a classic espresso martini along with a few others at the table. It was pretty darn good. We ordered a couple appetizers like the spinach dip and the meatballs. They were so good. The only suggestion I have is to include more baguette slices with the dip. We went through them all and still had a decent amount of dip left. Not a huge deal though we just asked our waitress for more and she brought them right out. Just about everyone at the table ordered a soup or a salad so those came out next (I know, shocking). I split a Caesar salad with my friend next to me. I not exactly big on healthy food but I DEVOURED that salad. I tried some of the French onion soup that someone else ordered and honestly wish I'd rested one for myself. Now we get to the entres... I will have dreams about that beef Wellington. Just about everyone ordered the Wellington so there wasn't a lot of variety on the table but we did have a shrimp scampi come out too. I tired a piece of shrimp off their plate and it was pretty good. But that beef Wellington was to die for and worth every penny. I'd eat it every day if I could. We also got a side of the Mac and cheese. It was probably the BEST Mac and cheese I've had. We finished out the night with desserts. We'd already had a lot so we didn't go crazy but we did get bread pudding and a chocolate cake for the table to split. To clarify, we were a group of 8. I would say that the desserts are big enough that one could feed 2-4 people. Again, it was so good, even the bread pudding and I'm not a big fan of bread pudding. This last Friday night a group of six of us came to the epic Chophouse to celebrate a wedding. The service was average. The real problem was the food. My husband and I had been to the Epic Chophouse once before and we were not impressed. But it was the brides desire to go to Epic, so we decided to give it another chance. It was a mistake! Six of us had a less than satisfactory meal. For the prices that they charge you want the meal to be epic not less than satisfactory! Three of us at the table had their halibut special. It was absolutely tasteless and the added insult came when we saw the bill. That particular entrée was priced at $54 a plate. The halibut on the menu was $39, none of us were really expecting that the five additional shrimp that were on the plate was going to raise the price that much.. My husband's steak was just average, probably could've gotten something much cheaper at Texas roadhouse that would've been better. Needless to say, we won't be trying this restaurant a third time. For a nice meal there are other places where we can get a much better meal for the same or less money I would suggest avoiding this particular establishment. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant's shrimp and linguini pasta, but it just didn't meet the mark for me. I got the crab fritters as well and they missed the mark too. They were very greasy, and tasted like they had been cooked in old grease. The pasta lacked seasoning, and for 30$, could've had more lobster in it. The service was excellent though, and the restaurant was beautiful. Maybe I caught them on a bad day; I would be interested in trying different dishes from here and maybe dine in instead of taking out. read more

Yesterday, we had reservations for 4 for Epic's Thanksgiving buffet but when we arrived, we were told that we would have to wait a half hour. It was evident that the management had badly mismanaged the reservations. The buffet has been advertised to feature turkey and roast beef plus traditional side dishes. But, incredibly, the buffet itself was a disaster in as much as there was no turkey or roast beef available during our entire mealtime. Management apologized but admitted that they had too many reservations and were unable to offer those of us with afternoon reservations the advertised meal. We will not be dining during one of their buffets again. read more

Phenomenal meal, absolutely phenomenal!! Started off with some Bacon!, Calamari Bellissimo, and Shanghai Shrimp. All three were brought out super quick and each of them were so delicious! The bacon had a nice kick from the Sriracha, but not overbearing. The shrimp was breaded just right and the Shanghai sauce was bangin'. I ordered the Ribeye 104 South at Medium Rare with some of the shoestring fries. The smoked salt on the ribeye was just the right touch. There was a nice sear on the ribeye, which was perfectly cooked. So full of flavor. My wife ordered the Scampi Style Shrimp Pasta and she really liked it. It seemed to be packed with shrimp too...unlike most places that have shrimp dishes where they skimp on the shrimp. My mother ordered the Epic Parmigiana...which looked massive! She really liked it as well. She said that the breading on the chicken breast had a great taste and that it was, overall, a very tasty dish! Our server, Gabriel, was probably the most attentive server in the entire world...he was so quick to replace our drinks and clean up the table to remove dirty dishes. We are not from Mooresville but would definitely come back the next time we're in town. If you're in the area and haven't tried this place, I hope you're happy with your life. read more

I would be remiss if I didn't mention their house salad dressing... a combination of honey mustard and warm bacon goodness. The salads themselves are rather large.
