This restaurant is amazing!!! It has a beautiful bridge view and the food is great! A little pricy for just a steak no veggies, no nothing you have to order that too but we didn't mind. The service was GREAT our waitress was super nice and very attentive. I made a reservation to celebrate my birthday and as soon as she greeted us she said she heard it was someone's birthday! PSA: I have never been treated more unfairly and rudely in my life. I have dined at Epic Steak and counted down until I could bring my mother there to eat as well. I made reservations well ahead of time as this restaurant stays busy. If you want to eat with a nice view, you need a reservation. Due to the restrictions of having a toddler, we had planned to gorge on drinks and multiple desserts and were even planning to order more desserts to bring home to Benjamin Griffiths. Around 9:30pm my mom and I were seated at this beautiful table for two. The waiter greeted us and asked if we had dined there before, I answered that I had but that my mother had not and that she was very excited to try it. I asked him if we could have a dessert menu as we were really wanted desserts and drinks. He said he would be right back as that was in a different menu. He did not return. Instead, the hostess came and told us that we needed to move or leave. That reservations and tables are only for people planning to order a full meal. She informed us that there was a backlog (there was no one waiting), and people that were ordering a meal didn't want to sit at the bar, they wanted a table. That we didn't need a table. We sat and listened dumbfounded. When she finished, I told her we would not be moving to the bar that we would go somewhere else. To say I was embarrassed and angry is an understatement. Careful planning went into this special night to then be treated like we were less than and not worth serving. When did that become acceptable? Especially in San Francisco. They have called to apologize and want to know how to rectify the situation. The truth is that they can't. I watched as the hostess informed the management that we were leaving. They knew how it was being handled and allowed it to happen. There is no redeeming this situation. I do not want a free meal or whatever it is they offer. I wanted the night I had carefully planned with mother. There are plenty of lovely places to go in the city. We walked in to Epic Steak spontaneously on a Sunday evening after having drinks at Palomino with some family. I personally would have never just walked in to a high end steak restaurant without doing my research, but it was cold and our group wanted steak and this was the closest place. Ill start off by saying that the service was great, the table they gave us had an incredible view, as if we were sitting under the Bay Bridge. It was an amazing ambiance. My expectations were pretty high after looking at the menu and price. Our table ordered a mix of the Filet and the Rib Eye steak. I usually get my steak Med Rare but decided that I wasn't craving all that redness so I ordered it Medium, my husband did the same. I was not impressed and actually pretty disappointed that it was more Medium Well than Medium. I was very hungry so the first few bites I did not notice but a few min I realized it was barely red on the inside and there was no juice. I turned to my husband to try his Filet to see if it was any better and by the look of it I already knew it wasn't. His was almost black on the outside and when I took a bite it was the same as mine. It was late and I didn't want to make a scene with a bunch of people with us. So we ate a $50 steak that we were not happy with and a total Bill of almost $600. The food was not worth it, the ambiance is another story, but the food, for the quality of steak, should be at a lower price point. Sexy and romantic atmosphere with perfect lighting. Too many restaurants do not have this mastered but Epic does. We were seated within a couple minutes of our 8:30 reservation last Saturday night in big beautiful chairs with a view of the Bay Bridge and its awesome LED lights. Our appetizer was one of the best dishes I've had in a long time...baked lasagnetti with braised greens, white cheddar fondue and trumpet mushrooms foraged in Mendocino County. It was so subtly rich and tasty, I would go back just to have this app. Our dinner was very good. Ribeye steak with lobster and baseball sirloin with smoked Gouda potatoes. My only complaints were the salt crusted baked potato and that the meat came to us pretty cooled down in temperature. Looking back on it I should have just sent the baked potato back and asked for something else. I love salt, but this already salt encrusted baked potato was sitting ON a coarse salt bed, and every other bite I took had huge granules of salt in it. It did not taste good. Other than that everything was wonderful and I love the added touch of the waiter giving us a ticket to pick up our leftovers at the front desk on our way out, like we were picking up our coats. For being a steak house and for the price you would expect the food to be nothing but spectacular. 7 of the 8 people in our party ordered steaks and all but one of the meat temps were correct. Everyone decided to forego sending it back since majority ordered the wagyu (which only included 3 slices for $180). My sister ordered the NY I believe and sent back the supposedly med rare steak (was actually rare), and got it back even worse at well done. The sides were ok, nothing to rave about. The seafood platter was also ok, although a better choice than any of the steaks would've been and better bang for the buck. Servers aren't wearing gloves, touching silverware with bare hands, serving food with fingers touching the food, half-ass wiping down chairs and tables after meals. The ribeye is often called the crown jewel of the steakhouse menu and also known as a Scotch filet in Australia and New Zealand. The ribeye is decadent, rich and buttery in taste. If you want flavor look for generous marbling, bone in and the thicker the better. At Epic Steak you can anticipate their steaks are as good as it can get. Absolutely what you would expect for a very special occasion: birthday, wedding, anniversary, office lunch or girls night out. My most glorious of all meals was at Epic Steak where item after item was spectacular. Let me start with this, four years ago, went here for the first time with wife. We loved it. Never had an opportunity to do so again until about a week ago. I kept referring to it as Epic Roast house, but Epic Steak kept coming up. The name change should have tipped me off to ownership change. First off, they got rid of mashed potatoes. As a replacement they came up with their own concoction of potatoes (which on its own would be "ok"), but that was the only potato option that I remember. I said, no big deal, the amazing steak will make up for it. That goes to my second point. Each couple ordered the same steaks, so two well done, and two medium well. No two steaks were the same. My friend ended up not even finishing his steak due to how salty it was. Not to mention, my steak looked nor tasted anything like it did when I came here the first time. Let's not forget, the sizes for each were noticeably different. Thoroughly disappointed, and slightly embarrassed for making reservations well in advance, and overhyping to our friends. My girlfriend and I were on vacation from Chicago and decided we wanted both steak and a great view, so we picked a EPIC Steak since that seemed to offer both. We didn't mind the price as we assumed the meat would be well worth it no matter what we got. She ordered the Filet and I ordered the 14oz Ribeye. The meat was mediocre. I've had better cuts of meat from a commercial chain restaurant in the suburbs. The texture was tough and the fat was rubbery. The Julia Child potatoes were good, loads of butter so kind of hard to mess that up. THE CAVEAT: Diners beware, if you do decide to eat outside be prepared to encounter all that outside has to offer. As my girlfriend and I ate we were visited by a small rodent who seemed to enjoy our company a little too much. We ordered appetizers, the octopus n the crab was excellent. We ordered sides of the potatoes the spaetzl, and the greens which was excellent. I ordered the filet mignon which was ok but not the best I've had in the city. My friends ordered the prime rib and the New York Steak which they didn't like too much, very fatty and gristly. I had dinner this week at EPIC Steak in San Francisco. The company was excellent and the view was great (seated by the window, inside). The food, however was adequate - not good, not awful, just adequate. I had the Caesar salad with extra anchovies (very dry anchovies, but otherwise OK), the New York steak medium (not that great), and some shared sides (broccolini, mushrooms, bread, Shishito peppers), plus a lemonade. The lemonade was OK, as was the broccolini and bread. I'm not a fan of Shishito peppers, so that shouldn't count. The mushrooms were overcooked. Overall, not too impressed, but not a place I'd refuse to go either. read more

Love this spot! The view is amazing of course. Night time is my favorite near the windows to be able to watch the light show at the bridge. I would recommend the filet deal. It comes with veggies and potatoes. My boyfriend had just the steak and sides which wasn't as cost effective. Also, the mac and cheese is simply addicting. Perfect date night spot. We came here to use a gift certificate we had gotten for Christmas. We had requested a window table and they had one for us but it was a beautiful night so we opted for the patio and were able to see the water. Diego, our server, was great. He knew the menu well and helped us with our menu choices. We started with the Shrimp de Jongue and it was to die for...melts in your mouth. We each had a steak. One was the rib eye and the other the filet. Both cooked to order and delicious. The Julia Child's potatoes are out of this world and the grilled brocolini was just the right taste and texture. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and the dessert we chose was brought out with a candle and beautiful plate presentation and was complimentary. The beer and wine were local and very good. One of the best spots to grab a drink in the Embarcadero because of its stellar view of the Bay Bridge, my partner and I swung by EPIC on a Saturday afternoon for some mimosas and a snack. We got a table outside with a great view of the bridge and being a chilly December day, we thankfully were seated next to a heater! We ordered the Bay Bubbles, which came with a bottle of sparkling wine and your choice of orange, pineapple or grapefruit juice for $25. It was a pretty good deal for a place like EPIC, and the perfect Saturday treat! Being vegan, the menu was scarce with food options for us, but we expected that and weren't very hungry. We ordered some Acme sourdough with olive oil and balsamic vinegar in lieu of butter ($6) to go with our drinks and help soak up the bubbles. On another day we'll probably order some Brussels sprouts and fries! ($11 each). Service was friendly and fairly attentive, and this is definitely one of the top spots in the city to bring a date or grab a nice drink near the Ferry Building! read more

One of our favorite Brunch restaurants in Embarcadero: We go there at least one a month! The outdoor seating is lovely! A mixture between Toscanian and San Franciscan: under an umbrella, close to an old olive tree while overlooking the bay bridge. The food is good: one of my favorite in this season Grilled Skirt Steak, with an additional side order of French fries. We love also the Bay Bubbles drink: sparking white wine, with a juice of your choice, and perfect for sharing! Their desert menu is pretty good in general as well. The restaurant brunch is perfect for family & kids (good selection for the kids menu as well) The waitresses and waiters are are very friendly, professional and knowledgeable at the same time. read more
