What it came like (pickle in bag)
Nichole E.

Erik's Deli is always one of my favorites. Although it has changed I still love the flavors. The sandwhich pictured below is the Sweet Liberty and it is super good. The sauce is great. Their dutch crunch is not very good. Get the whole wheat! Service was fast and nice. There is always a lot of seating inside and it's a cool ambiance! Definitely heading back soon.

Sandwiches from the tray

I use the catering feature more than anything. I placed an order for two sandwich trays the night before a work event and they were ready to go by Noon next day. It was so easy! I picked up in person and there was hardly any wait time. And the sandwiches were delicious!

Just a quick update- haven't been to Erik's in San Ramon since I got laid off during the pandemic (it was conveniently located around the corner from my job). It's a great restaurant serving yummy sandwiches, salads and soups. Was in town to meet up with a former colleague for lunch and this was our pick. I chose the "Natural High" sandwich and it lived up to it's expectation. It's all veggies- there a few options for vegetarians. SANDWICH: Wheat pita, LOTS of sprouts (if you like- you can order without), cheese (Monterey Jack & Cheddar- melted), avocado (creamy), mushrooms, sunflower seeds and tomatoes. YUMMY! Oh and filled with the GOO (combo of mayo & mustard). PARKING: Plenty of parking BEVERAGES: If you don't choose a beverage, they will offer you free water that you can fill up in a cute glass mason jar. SERVICE: You walk up and order, pay and get a number. They'll bring your order to you and clean up your table after you leave. Great music as well!

Haven't been to Erik's DeliCafe in so long, so was excited to find one in San Ramon! - Check out the combos as they have delicious pasta salad (not pictured) to go with your sandwich. Plenty of chip options as well - Clean interior with lots of spots for sitting - Plenty of parking available via shared parking lot with spots right outside of Erik's as well - Chicken Pesto: ordered this sandwich with a side of extra pickles and was pleased with my meal - Order at the counter and they'll bring your food out to you

Wet Reuben... too much dressing!!

WAY TOO MUCH DRESSING on my Reuben!! Bread was soaked, fell apart. No option on orders to ask for 'light' or 'on the side' for items.

Raging Bull [$9.79, 2.0 stars]

This a real sandwich shop. I was pleased finally to be able try it. Note: this location has been here 20 years, but under new management for a month. A nice menu, some unique sandwiches, and featuring (and a very popular thing to order) 1/2 sandwich and soup combo. The Raging Bull -- a warm roast beef sandwich sounded great on a very cloudy and wet day. When everything on it included sprouts and tomato, I declined...that just doesn't work in my book with warm, especially roast beef, sandwich. Well, it was puny. Tasty, but a bore. The bread was on a small onion roll, and just didn't work for it. [$9.79, 2.0 stars]. The inside was fairly nice and the dining/seating area is a lot larger than I expected, but it smelled like a dirty dishtowel. So, overall, not good. Will I try again? Yes. I have to try the combo...nearly everyone dining got it.

Poorly made and ordered from door dash. Missing the cheese in the natural high which is the main ingredient. I am a regular customer but will never order to go again

I haven't been to a Erik's Deli in years. This location did not disappoint. Social distancing enforced, need to wear a mask, hand sanitizer provided. Staff wears mask and gloves. I ordered a Pilgrims Progress Turkey Sandwich. Came with a good amount of turkey, avocado, tomato & spouts and the special sauce on a 9 grain wheat sliced bread. Bread was fresh and soft. As always a sliced pickle. Overall taste was awesome. Just like I remembered back in the day. Next time I'm in the area I will stop here again.

Sandwich and macaroni salad
Kristine K.

This is the best sandwich I've ever ate It is called the pilgrims progress this turkey avocado with all the fixings it is delicious I also ordered the macaroni salad which is perfectly made with the best ingredients I could've made it better myself because they made it better I recommend this to anybody in the San Ramon area this was my first time here I will be eating here futuristically because this place is delicious

Classic Reuben was outstanding, but probably not too healthy

But don't underestimate it because it's still really filling. I picked the shrimp tempura and potato croquette which I put directly in my soup because I like when it absorbs the flavor of the soup but there's a container that you can get it on the side. I love the light, yet rich taste of the broth and the dipping sauce and spices you can get on the side to complement it. Ordered takeout since we were so tired after tennis. It was nice that they have a seperate door to pick up take out so while I waited on the curbside DD ran into pick up. Easy peasy. When we got home we immediately inhaled it. Loved how they separated the filling from the udon and packed the broth separately. Poached egg was creamy still and blended well with the beef and noodles. We came back again yesterday but wanted to actually dine in. There were no longer long lines from when we last dined in years ago. The line went smoothly and the lady was quick and efficient to take our orders and even gathered Hubs' take out rice bowl for later. The gal at the pick up windown was also proficient as her job and even telling me my clams and ginger udon had just ran out so she gave me a number for my table. The tempura station was always one of my favorites. They just ran out of imitation crab but we snagged the last shrimp tempura. Also got a sweet potato and my favorite, pumpkin . 4/5 crunchy not too oily and naturally sweet. No sauce needed We found a table right away which was wiped clean. DD was half way through her udon when mine barely arrived. After the first sip of broth, it quickly reminded me of why we haven't been back in so long. Warm soup vs piping hot. That's why. Fresh cooked clams and butter ginger melted into the broth was a nice change from the usual. The taste was great and flavorful. Clams were blanched nicely with a few unopened shells that I didn't eat. There was also a few with some sand inside which was expected for a fast foodie style place where clam is ordered. 3.5/5 The other downside from the overall dish for both of us was the over sprinkling of green onions. It left a literal bad taste in both our mouths. Clean restrooms. Overall, 3.5

I wanted to showcase my Taiwanese heritage for the dinner and was excited that Mama Lee's was available to cater. Overall, the flavors were reminiscent of my memories of eating in Taiwan, and that was a huge plus! Communication was easy, and the day of the event, they sent pics of the food. So incredibly overpriced and disappointing. Their "premium" nigiri (10 pc for $75) was not premium at all. In fact, it was worse than basic/cheap nigiri you get elsewhere. All the pieces were tiny, half of them were chewy, and not at all what the menu said they were supposed to be. For instance, the "king salmon" was "sad" salmon and garnished with some kind of orange marmalade-bizarre and gross. I had to choke down the "Wagyu" nigiri because it was so chewy. I couldn't believe how bad it all was. I should have known the dinner was doomed after I ordered their "Crab amuse," which was three pieces ($18!!) of shredded IMITATION crab wrapped in the thinnest piece of tuna you've ever seen, then placed in a weird, sweet cream sauce. Even the miso soup (which I've never received with nigiri omakase, but ok) was barely room temperature and totally watered down. Sorry, Ukai. I have no idea how your reviews are so high, but you have no business operating as a "sushi" bistro or whatever you want to call yourself. Sigh.

Instead, we had one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had. When we walked in, nobody greeted us. Every employee seemed to deliberately avoid making eye contact, and we had to approach the bar ourselves just to ask what we were supposed to do. We were told to add our names to the waitlist and that someone with an iPad would come over to help us. While we were waiting, I went to grab some food, and my boyfriend sat down at an empty table for literally a minute while waiting for me and for the employee with the iPad. The table was completely empty. Instead of helping us, multiple employees came over and repeatedly told him to get up and leave. He politely explained that he was waiting for me and that we had been told someone would come add us to the waitlist, but they continued speaking to him rudely and insisted he leave the seat immediately. At that point, we stepped outside to wait. We then tried to order drinks, and one of the employees told us she would send a server over. A man came to us, introduced himself as the manager, and told us they could not serve us any food or drinks because we didn't have a reservation. We explained that we had already asked to be added to the waitlist and that we were happy to wait or follow whatever process was required--we simply wanted to watch the match like everyone else. He walked away and later came back saying he had "spoken to the manager," despite introducing himself as the manager just moments earlier. Then he demanded that we leave. After spending 30-40 minutes being ignored, pushed away, and treated like we weren't welcome, we were completely shocked. We weren't causing any problems. We simply wanted to have dinner, order drinks, and watch the game. The worst part happened at the end. I told this whoever is that liar guy was (server or manager) that I'm not leaving without finishing my drink because I paid for it . Right after without asking for my permission, that same employee took my drink directly out of my hands, turned around, walked away with it, and then yelled at us to leave immediately. I have never experienced such disrespect in any restaurant. I've worked in restaurants myself, so I know what professional hospitality looks like. This was the exact opposite. Your customers are the reason your business exists, yet your staff treated us as if we were an inconvenience instead of paying guests. This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The staff were rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in basic customer service. We will never return, and I certainly cannot recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy and not get disappointed by service and servers. I would have gladly called the police, but since we had already spent half the day dealing with this bullshit and missed out on enjoying the match, we decided to just go somewhere else. I just want the restaurant owner to know that your staff didn't refund us for the ruined drinks !!!
