Many tables were empty all night and the hostesses said they were reserved, but they were empty when we arrived and we left and we were there for two hours. My fiancé and I do a monthly date night and we picked etta due to all the positive reviews. We felt that it was highly over rated and didn't have the best experience. We arrived a few minutes early prior to our reservation and we were not seated until promptly at our reservation time. This was the same for all guests waiting in the lobby. The lobby is small which forced us outside to wait, it's 110 degrees outside and we were quite frustrated. Once seated the restaurant was empty. We didn't understand why we had to wait outside if our table was empty? Didn't make much sense to us. We did enjoy our drinks, they were delicious. The menu was minimal with no allergy information on it. The names of dishes are not very explanatory of the dish and the waiter didn't explain the items on the menu unless asked for details. Outside of the minimal menu items they are very overpriced. Spent almost $200 on dinner for two and didn't love any of the items. I've been to Etta in LA and it was excellent. This locations menu isn't good. The brunch menu sucks. They took the breakfast burrito off the menu which was their best item. Sadly since previous review, 10 months ago, I must now give a lesser endorsement. Seemingly small changes but significant enough to mention. The details that were so appreciated just are not there any longer... staff still attentive and friendly. Prices increased with smaller portion..the pizza condiments that set it apart no longer available. Bathroom with broken soap dispenser.. bath and body works hand soap on counter.. Went to Etta for the second time this past Saturday. The food is nothing short of amazing! We love the octopus app, the focaccia, the drinks, I mean you really can't go wrong. I also love the bone marrow. I wish that could be an app! It comes with steak but sometimes I just want a good bone marrow app. Our waitress Jennifer (I'm pretty sure that's her name) was excellent as well. Very attentive but not coming too often. She made excellent suggestions and got my drink out super fast. Etta is great for date night, groups, etc. I noticed they do have a kids menu. Although, they do have a really nice grown up atmosphere, so if your little ones are squirly it may not be the best option. It's nice to know they have a good kids menu though. Had lunch today 9/24/22 at Etta's in Scottsdale with my daughter and Autistic granddaughter. Were seated right away at the time of our reservation. Ordered from the menu and My daughter and I were served after a 25 minute wait. My granddaughter ordered the steak and eggs. She was served after about another 25 minute wait. Fortunately my granddaugher was patient. But Autistic children do not understand why they have to wait! The steak was cold as well as the eggs and french fries. We found all of the orders to be mediocre at best. Our bill was presented (along with another tables drink order) We brought that to our waitresses attention. After providing my credit card-another 20 minutes for it to be picked up and processed. Very loud atmosphere. Hard to hear anyone else at the table. Not good experience. I will not go back there. Too many other restaurants in town to go back to Etta's for another bad experience. read more

Came to this beautiful restaurant to celebrate one of my best friends 40th birthday and left disappointed. Our party arrived on time but our table wasn't ready. No big deal, we went to the bar for a round of drinks. We all ordered margaritas but they tasted like cough medicine. We kindly let the bartender know and they remade them. Unfortunately, they tasted even worse. After 30 mins our table was ready. To keep this brief, the server was rude and non existent. After we finished with dinner, he came and brought the check. Seeing that we were celebrating a birthday, we wanted dessert. When we asked for the menu, he rolled his eyes! We then felt like we were imposing. One of our guests asked what time they closed and the server replied with a rude tone "9pm". Seeing that we didn't get sat until 8, can they blame us for being there past 9? The server came back and tried to redeem himself by telling us we can stay as long as we need and that he can "read our body language". He wasn't apologetic at all. Everyone at our table either works or has worked in the service industry. We are an easy going group and weren't looking for perfection but felt we deserved much better service. Etta is a great addition to Scottsdale Quarter! They make awesome cocktails that are strong. The patio outside is really nice. The service outside was slow, there was only one server so that's probably why. You must try to shrimp entree, it's delicious. I would also recommend the mushroom pizza! Any idea what that is for...yep...HEALTH INSURANCE for the employee...would you have thought it was for insurance? We, as the customers, are automatically paying for the health insurance of the etta employees. Being creative to hire and keep employees is important BUT not at a customer's expense. If you, the employer, cannot afford the insurance you are offering as a benefit to employees, then either don't and/or shut your doors, BUT TO PASS THAT EXPENSE ONTO A CUSTOMER IS APPALLING! I was extremely excited to try this spot out, and had been wanting to come in for quite some time. We had the delight of a later reservation at around 8:30 pm the other night. It took around 30 minutes to get our drink order in, and another 15-20 to actually get the drinks. We ended up ordering the wagyu carpaccio, which was pretty salty and had too much oil which was a bummer. We also got the little gem salad which was pretty good. I ended up ordering the all 'amatriciana for my main dish, which ended up being delicious. The other person in my party got a pizza and wasn't exactly blown away by it, especially for the prices. All in all, if you're looking for somewhere to grab drinks with a cute atmosphere this is the spot for you. But the service is struggling (which is understandable, because everywhere is struggling right now to find staff, but still. 30 minutes to even put our drink order in is a bit absurd). read more

OK, so honest opinion this place sucks how can you be an Italian place and not have peach Bellini but you could have lemongrass drinks or something something like that or elderberry or some weird stuff and the food is terrible. The salad was terrible. The only thing that was good was the meatballs the waitress had an attitude and was very pompous and very like snooty and how it almost costed like $75 for two people and we got such poor service on top of it. The gentleman who delivered my salad to me which was the Caesar salad basically mocked me for not liking pancetta. There are certain things and peoples diet. They do not like, and I do not like the taste of pancetta so don't mock me for it. The guy was bald and he was a jerk. I'm from Chicago where we have amazing food. this place is just to be seen. We went there for lunch and it was great! Inside is so pretty with such a nice open atmosphere. I love the open kitchen. It was fun watching the chefs cook and see our dishes get prepared and brought over. Their mocktails are super tasty as well! We had the mushroom and margherita pizzas, ceasar salad with chicken, wagyu meatballs, and the chocolate cake! Everything was super tasty and came out pretty quickly! Our server was also attentive as well as the other workers and made sure that we were taken cared of! They were out of a few drinks and desserts, but I didn't think that affected the experience. The bathrooms and overall space are both super clean which I love. Would have loved to get more peanut butter ice cream with the chocolate cake! read more

The menu doesn't have many choices on it. The waiter told us all the food was served family style. Really? Very small family style portions. The"ravioli" (can't remember what the name was on the menu) had around 9 or so small ravioli split between 3 people. I had about 4 ravioli, a couple slices of bread, and a couple Brussels sprouts. And the bill was not cheap. That's not a meal...it's a snack. If you plan on eating a lot you will be spending much much more. The food was just okay. It's expensive and very small portions. I think people are writing good reviews because this place is in snottsdale so they think it must be wonderful. I won't be going back. The interior is pretty much the same as the former restaurant that was there, Brio. Despite what the management says, I won't be going back. Not worth it. Food not that great and to order anything else makes it even more expensive. This is not the kind of restaurant I enjoy going to. read more

We stopped in for lunch on Wednesday after recommendations from some of the business owners in the area. The hostess was abrupt, but friendly. We were seated in the main dining area. The focaccia bread is outstanding! The bubbling shrimp is some of the best shrimp with Thai curry I have ever eaten. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the children's noodles in red sauce, the food was so over-salted, after one bite we found it completely inedible. We decided then to order the brussels sprouts and the buttered noodles, both of them were overly salty as well. Let me start off by saying, my son took us out for a celebratory bday dinner for his dad and we were all very excited to eat at the new trendy, Etta. Beautiful hip decor. Wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. There were 4 of us and we were advised to order a few dishes to share. We started with the honey dijon brussels sprout with crispy bacon. Excellent but portion was very small. The bucatini cacao e pipe and Nonni's ravioli were next. Excellent but ridiculously small. I had 1 1/2 ravioli. The ramp & asparagus wood fired pizza was excellent as was the chicken. Again, small. I could've eaten on my own. In addition to the portions being small, there was a table of thirty somethings celebrating a bday. Alcohol/wine funnels were being passed around as the table was getting louder and louder. I felt like I was at Benihanas when the chef tosses drinks in your mouth. Not what I think should be promoted in a restaurant of this quality.
