I ordered the seasonal cider which was blueberry, and my partner got a beer. On Wednesdays you can take home a special glass which we were excited about. For appetizers there are so many good options, but we chose the fried mac and cheese balls. This was the perfect comfort food but elevated. I will definitely be coming back to try some more of their shareable plates. I got the spicy fried chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The chicken was large and juicy and was the perfect amount of spicy. Truffle fries were super great as well and came with a special aioli and shaved parmesan. From taste, the aioli is probably mayo mixes with a vinegary buffalo hot sauce. - The rice actually went pretty well with everything else in the poke stack. Blended seamlessly with the creamy avocado. Nice citrusy sauce throughout. - Mac and cheese balls are always great. Could be served a little hotter. We had two servers as one went on break and was replaced. Both were really nice. The first girl tried to fix our wobbly table but after trying she just offered to switch our table. On a chilly Friday evening, I was struggling to find restaurants still open late at night. I called ahead and found that this restaurant's last call was at 11:30, which meant we would still make it. So, excited I went to this restaurant with a friend for a nice peaceful dinner. We were quickly seated and the server helped us out right away. Came on a Monday evening thinking there would be no wait, but it was fairly busy! We had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated for 2. Luckily, we were able to walk around the area and go to Whole Foods while we waited lol Right when we were seated, we were not greeted right away by our server and were not offered water for about another 20 minutes. The Details: Curious and on a hunt for a memorable dry-aged burger, I found out about Eureka's offering and decided to pay a visit. My wife and I came during an off-time in the early afternoon; the ambiance was nice, though the service felt a little bit lethargic because it was past peak lunch hour. No matter, so long as a satisfactory burger could be had. I ordered the dry aged bone marrow shiitake burger, medium rare, and was eventually greeted with a tasty looking burger. The patty itself was cooked to desired doneness and pleasant to the palate; the dry-aged character of it didn't feel that memorable / noticeable, but it was a good patty nonetheless. The bun was also tasty and toasted on the inside. Unfortunately, Eureka thought for some reason that putting the tomato in between the bottom bun and the burger was a good idea, which led to the bottom bun eventually falling apart as it saturated with tomato juice. Additionally, the bone marrow shiitake butter, while interesting in concept, didn't have much of a memorable flavor, or even flavor at all. Everything was absolutely delicious as always, and they can even accommodate us when we request to have the tangy coleslaw and house pickles on the side instead of on the sandwich. They do have a well stock bar but we didn't get to try their cocktails this time around, maybe next time. My family celebrated my Dad's birthday here the other day and loved everything we ordered. We got the bison burger, bbq bacon burger, wings with bbq and firecracker sauce on the side, and truffle cheese fries. The service was amazing!! We work across the street, so this is one of the restaurants that is easy walk and usually fairly good. Today was a mixed bag. We arrived to an empty restaurant, plenty of tables and were promptly greeted. The food came out in decent time considering the crowd kept growing exponentially at this point, but food itself was a bit disappointing. Steak and broccolini lacked flavor - was not salted well and had some green looking pesto with no flavor either. Certainly not worth the $35.00 price tag. Eureka Salad is always a good choice, fresh good sized portion but I feel like the price went up and maybe a few less toppings than I am used to. Smash burger was "just okay" per my colleague, nothing noteworthy other than a really pricey for what it was. Fries overall were cold and maybe a tad undercooked. We had non-alcoholic drinks that were expensive for size and quantity, my guess its less than 6 oz of liquid once they add the ice. I don't feel the value is there for the quality or flavor of foods. They also have terrible flow - it took us 23 minutes to get our tab once we finished our meal. They just feel way too understaffed to handle that lunch time rush, or just don't have a system down to better move patrons. Our server was very nice, but again, he was just inundated with a REALLY large party. That seems to be a theme too - either 2-3 person tables or REALLY big parties. Stopped by with the family a couple of weeks back for dinner when in the San Jose area. Moderately busy around 8 pm on a Saturday night but was able to snag a table for four with no wait. Youngest had the American Burger with fries while my wife and daughter shared an Amercan Burger and Pulled Pork sandwich, both with fries. American burger well-done with a side of their signature fries. My friends and I swapped stories over an appetizer of Dorito-crusted shishito peppers (crunchy, melted fun for those of us who are kids at heart), and our main courses arrived soon after. As Americans do, my burger projected confidence (dare I say brashness?). My eyes were drawn first to the bold stripes on the seared onion, a decisive flourish from the chef who left the burger's upper bun resting casually on the side. The cheese was warmly melted, and it blanketed the beef patty, lettuce, and tomatoes. I loved the first bite. Buttery bun, warm beef and Swiss cheese melted in my mouth. Soooooo this was my first time at this particular Santa Clara, Eureka location! I went to the Cupertino location years ago and one along the peninsula. I want to say a year ago for Halloween special, but I could be wrong if that wasn't this restaurant. Nevertheless, with my lovely annoying food allergy to monos sodium glucosamine/MSG, the only thing the server could actually offer me was a grilled piece of chicken. Lol. Family the bacon burger with onion rings as well as the pastrami quesadilla and my niece got a macaroni and cheese! She's incredibly picky when it comes to macaroni and cheese, so I was really happy. She was able to eat it and it wasn't too creamy/cheesy for her. Lol , no pun intended! I tried the fig burger and the brussel sprouts - the sprouts are SOOO good. However there is a ton of sauce so I could've done with a little less sauciness. I got the fig burger medium rare and it was quite a bit more rare than I expected. The greens were also a bit too sauced and there were big globs of goat cheese that I wish were a little more evenly spread out. The bacon was big and delicious. Taking it to go meant the fries were not as hot when I picked it up in the time I was told. Next time I'll get salad instead especially if I'm taking it to go. I thought it would be ok if I ordered it in store and just ran over to Whole Foods while i waited the allotted time. Lesson learned! With an hour to spare before my flight back to Denver, I stopped into Eureka to grab a bite to eat. It was across the street from my hotel and seeing the masses flood into the shopping center, I knew that was a good sign. I entered on a Friday around 11:30AM and was greeted by a friendly hostess. Spring mix / avocado / cabbage / carrot / green onions / cilantro / crispy wontons / peanut sauce / sesame ginger dressing. This place is located in one of the most busiest parking lots in Santa Clara. There's a lot of restaurants and stores in the same plaza so finding parking during rush/peak hours can be challenging. There's also the chance of your car getting hit and bipped so hide your belongings. The restaurant is staffed with some really friendly and helpful people. Their service is amazing and will accommodate whatever you need. Unfortunately we've been here several times and my partners food has angered her. She quotes, "I hate paying for food that I didn't enjoy". We've gave this place several tried and it just isn't for her. She's had the fish tacos and the chicken sandwich and both were met with disappointment. BUT in the other hand I've had several of the burgers here and they were great. It's really hard to mess up a burger so they did that right. Their selection of drinks is expansive and there's something for everyone.
