The food was wonderful. We did the large plate and that large plate you could do a half-and-half. We did cod and shrimp nice crunch to both a large helping of fries. Perfection not over salted you get your choice of two sides. We get Tartar and cocktail sauce, of course. It's set outside but that's OK. It's nice here in Flagstaff towards the end of our meal the kitchen manager Levi came out to check to make sure that everything was good. Couldn't say anything bad about the food. The sausage rolls are impeccable: the sausage is extremely flavorful and has the perfect moist texture, and the breading of the roll is just flaky enough to highlight that perfectly. Great food and great taste! Wish the ordering and call system was a little better. This place could be described as a literal hole in the wall. It's a very cozy counter order with maybe 2 seats and standing/waiting for a few more adults. I came in about 15-20 minutes after open and there were a few parties already in front of me I got the cod and chips with curry sauce, shrimp and chips with tartar, and a chicken curry pie for later. It took about 30-40 minutes after ordering to get my food. Not a huge problem of course because they were making it fresh and you could see them packing orders as they came ready. I did find it awkward that I got told it was gonna be about 20 minutes and couldn't tell if my order was on the counter or not since they weren't calling out names and due to the cramped quarters I found myself walking in and out a few times to check who was next. Everything tasted amazing and portions were huge. Really good quality fish and shrimp and the batter was light and not heavy. Of course a little oily but to be expected and the lightness of the batter and acidity of the tartar and malt vinegar made it quite delectable. The chips were heavier on the salty side but had good acidity as well. As noted earlier, seats are very limited. Plan to order out and find a spot at the park or to eat in your car. There are about 2 stools inside and on the side of the building a few more tables that you can get staff to wipe down since it might be wet from the dripping ice off the roof. The pie made it home after a few hours at the park and 2 hour drive home. It toasted perfectly and was still very tasty. The sausage was sold out and there are other pies that sounded yummy I wanted to try. They also have seasonal specials. For sure worth a stop and revisit next time I'm in flag. read more

AWFUL service! Owner does not care at all and told me to my face that her terrible service was totally appropriate. They NEVER answer the phone, which is insane for an exclusively take out place. They also don't offer online ordering, despite the website showing that it is an option. Run out of tartar sauce frequently, which is nuts for a place that basically ONLY sells fish and chips. I'm not sure if this place was opened originally by "Evan" and then sold to someone else but the food used to be great and it is pretty lousy now. Service is worse than the food, though. Honestly, the food was good but I feel it's comparable to other places I've tried in the past. You get one piece of fish with your order, and although it's a good size, it seems like a little. Also, I'm not sure if it was just the day or what, but the blonde girl at the register was rude and made fun of customers as they walked out. We waited a while in the small lobby for our food and when people would come in she would help them and as soon as they left she would make some mocking remark about them and just be so unnecessarily mean. She had her boyfriend there as well, and he was blowing his nose all over the place which made the whole thing seem so unappetizing seeing as he didn't even wash his hands or use sanitizer after. What a welcome we received upon rolling into Flagstaff, Arizona on day 3 of our journey to our new home. This is a tiny and adorable little fish n chip shop shaped more like a galley with a small rest area up front to wait for one's order. We tried the mushy peas, cod fish n chips, mahi fish n chips and scotch eggs with brown sauce. As we left, the owner even ran out to give us our mushy peas which we had forgotten. Such incredible service. It was cold out too! Snow was resting on the patios and in the alley corners in this small town near Arizona ski destinations. I'm hoping to return soon for a day trip or as a mom to college kids at the college here. As for now, this Mahi Fish n chips with salt & vinegar tops my older favorite fish n chips at Tom's in High Point. It was amazing! 5 stars. The fresh-cut and fried potato wedges are a delicious meal in itself. My daughter loved her mushy peas. I tried them and they are very good. Akin to a split pea soup but thicker and lighter in flavor. My daughters also tried a Scotch egg for the first time. They approached it cautiously but loved it in the end.
