    Sandwich and salad

We've got food here on multiple occasions and we have never been disappointed with it. The sandwiches are good as well as the soups and salads. Give them a try.

    Menu as of September 2025!

What a nice hidden gem inside of a building. The food choices here are great! I tried the Chinese Chicken salad and it was delicious! Chris, who works here is super friendly and helpful with finding choices to get off the menu. The place is tiny, but quaint and you can tell people know each other here! Friendly vibes and a nice place to have a bite to eat! I can't wait to come back!

We parked off a side street about a block away and strolled over taking in the glisten of Hillcrest. Highly recommend this iconic Euro-Esque in SoCal gem in sunny San Diego.

The mini bombolonis, filled with Nutella, were also yummy. However the chocolate croissant and bear claw were both very dry, and neither flaky nor flavorful. The croissant in particular seemed like it was made quite a while ago (I got it around 930 am) because the chocolate on top was hard, and the filling was dry/sparse.

It just reminded me all over again why this is one of those places I find myself wanting to come back to again and again. There's something about it that feels so thoughtful and special, from the ambiance to the way the team genuinely takes care of people. What stands out every time is how warm, intentional, and wonderful the staff is. They really do make you feel welcomed and cared for, and that kind of hospitality is such a huge part of what makes a place memorable. On top of that, they have such a great variety of offerings, coffee, tea, bites, and then as the day rolls on, a lovely wine selection and small plates that make it such a cute little spot for an afternoon reset or a midweek pick-me-up with the girls. I also love sneaking away there when I want to get outside and get a little work done. Their courtyard is truly the cutest and somehow always feels inspiring, peaceful, and just like a little pocket of charm in the middle of the day. And beyond that, I really appreciate how intentional they are about creating community, whether through wine tastings or other little events that make the space feel alive and welcoming. I was there earlier today and they had a wine tasting happening in the courtyard, which just felt so perfectly them. It's always such a gift to have neighborhood places like this that clearly put so much care into what they're creating. Paradis really is one of those gems that makes you want to tell other people about it.

Lots of plants, seating and some tabletop games. Tried: Turkey Panini $17 - this was huge, definitely shareable. The bread was a little doughy but had a nice toast on the outside. There was a small piece of plastic wrap in the sandwich which I luckily saw before consuming. If you zoom in you can see it underneath the lettuce on the left sandwich. Too much garlic aioli on this. Breakfast croissant $12 - bacon was a little burnt. I liked this better than the sandwich. Nice kick. Kyoto cold brew coffee $6 was excellent. It does not need milk. It is very smooth. They use a specialized drip machine for this coffee. Berry seasonal latte $7.50 was sweet even at half sweet. They have a punch card for their drinks which is nice. On a second visit I came back for their Kyoto cold brew to go and was given regular iced coffee that was very bitter. Very disappointing that I wasn't given what I ordered and didn't realize it until I had gotten home.

The bread alone deserves its own fan club, and the tomato soup was so good it felt like a hug in a bowl. The sandwiches were stacked with that perfect "I'm not just eating lunch, I'm making a life choice" energy. I'd recommend toasting it up, but even eating it cold was quite good. Honey Lavender Latte ($6) - it was absolutely delicious but for a $6 latte, it was definitely on the smaller side. They did serve a small piece of biscotti. I have also tried their everything danish before and thought it was decent. There is a lot as well as some paid street parking.
