My wife and I had a sandwich apiece as well as some gelato. Everything was excellent.

We like Fabio's the restaurant so seemed fitting to try their newest place. Paninis are awesome and one could feed two people. I've tried two kinds of Paninis and I enjoyed the roasted veggie. The bread is baked in their firewood oven - so fresh. I also saw that they offer a gluten-free choice. Service was great, the owner came out with our order and was very pleasant. We have also gone back for their gelato... so far I have not been disappointed with any flavor. LOL read more

Pricey but the sandwiches are outstanding. I had the Porcetta and daughter had the Delicia. Both were so flavorful. The fresh baked rolls are so delicious. Baked right there in the wood-fired oven. Loaves of bread are also available to buy. Will go back when in the area again. read more

Finally stopped in for lunch today! We have had the gelato on a previous occasion after a sushi dinner and really enjoyed it. The lemoncello flavor was so refreshing and light. When we stopped in for lunch, my husband opted to try the special of the day, a wood fired pizza with sausage pesto and broccoli: the combo seemed strange but honestly worked so well. The dough at Fabio's is so soft and fluffy and light, unlike some other wood fired pizza places. I got the delicata panini and when I tell you my husband and I were in heaven it's an understatement. The hubs kept snaking bites of my sammie - I regretted getting only a half sandwich minus a whole one. There were so many red peppers on it! They certainly do not skimp on the portions. For what we paid I was beyond impressed and am already planning going back in the next few days. Delicious!! We ate half our paninis in the store (to save room for Gelato!) and wrapped the other halves in foil and reheated in the oven the next day for lunch. We both thought they were even better on day 2! The paninis contain fresh and high-quality ingredients. The bread is similar to pizza dough and is charred from the oven. There is a nice selection of gelato that is definitely worth the waistline splurge, and complimentary tastes are offered with no guilt. Something that never occured to me - I saw several people eating gelato while they waited for their panini order! Dessert first...whodathunk? Minor flaws - the place is already too small for the crowd it's attracting, with the gelato/order counter right on top of the seating area. Plus, the sandwiches are delivered to the table with no napkins and there isn't a common station to get them - had to bug the neigboring table because they happened to have a napkin dispenser on their table. That said, the servers were super pleasant and welcoming, and if it happens to be very crowded when you're there, the paninis translated very well for take-out. We will defintely be back. Even with the gazillions of restaurants throughout the valley, it's hard to find something that hasn't already been done tons of times before. This was something different and felt authentically Italian. Based on our experience we will definitely be trying out the original Fabio on Fire location as well. read more

Last night was our first time to this location for a panini sandwich. The ingredients are very good but my sandwich was cold and had no vegetables on it has the menu suggested. My husband sandwich was also cold and very minimal meat but he did have vegetable. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our food. Ambiance is nice and inviting! read more

I came in at about 10 recently unaware of the fact that they open at 11 because the doors were open, after they told me they weren't open they still ended up making my order 30 minutes before they even opened, all the while being incredibly nice. They didn't make me feel like I was being a burden or causing a disturbance which I'm sure I was. And the food was amazing as always too. Service was super slow, we made a reservation for outside table got there and was told the party that has our table will be a while. I asked if they had any other tables, host rolled her eyes and said no. We proceeded to wait 30 minutes outside waiting for our outside table. They finally came out and asked if an inside table would work. Once we got in side we waiting forever for water. They brought water finally but never asked if we wanted anything else to drink. We finally asked and received but service was super slow and food was not the greatest. Would not recommend. read more

I cannot stress enough how lucky we are to have this gem in our backyard. I've been here several times, and if Fabio isn't making the sandwiches himself, he is inspecting them before they go out and getting his seal of approval. His restaurants are a true labor of love, bringing quality ingredients from Italy and baking the best bread I've ever had. No, they are not cheap (you can get a cookie-cutter Subway sandwich anywhere) and no, I can't come as often as I would like because of that, but it's certainly a treat when I do. I had the pleasure of chatting with him a little today as he handed me my sandwich to-go, and I know he truly loves bringing a little slice of home here to us in Peoria, welcoming us to his family table. My favorite (so far!) is the Donna del Cuori sandwich, which is enough to feed two, and the homemade gelato is amazing too! (Other than Frost, which is also to-die-for, I dare you to ask a random gelato shop where their gelato is actually made) My advice is to come when they first open at 11:00 before it gets busy, and you may get to score a loaf of his famous rustic bread as well! (Otherwise, you have to order a few days ahead from the main restaurant.) Grazie mille! :) read more

Sooooo expensive for a little flat sandwich with no flavor and barely an ounce of meat.

The place is nice and clean but the menu is very small and hard to customize your panini. The gelato was good but not excellent. Our paninis were terrible tasting and the prosciutto was super disgusting and so we couldn't eat our paninis. Super disappointed to spend almost $60 for 2 paninis and 2 small gelatos and we didn't even eat the paninis :( my husband tried reaching out to the owner and never heard back. read more

Gelato was amazing! The bread is fantastic, limited selection and they were out of onions and arugula so when sandwich arrived it was just meat and melted cheese. The kitchen didn't let the hostess know and I would of changed my order I'd I had known. Will try one more time as the other restaurant is very good! read more

Was hoping for a good restaurant in the area. Tried this new one. $40 for 2 bad sandwiches and 2 drinks cafeteria style. The prosciutto was tough. Bread was ok. Went elsewhere for desert. Oh and it was uncomfortable - seating was bad. No place had any space. read more

Excellent sandwiches and the bread was a perfect crispiness on the outside while soft on the inside. We enjoyed the Bellissimo and Puglia paninis. The Bellissimo was very flavorful and the purple potato spread made the sandwich so tasty. The Puglia was served missing the arugula and EVOO so it was a little dry, but still good ingredients. The gelato is beyond delicious and the cherry and strawberry were perfect for a hot day. Either place to eat is a culinary treat and we will be back! Thanks, Fabio! read more

I can't speak to the food. We didn't stay to have any. The ambiance was nice but a bit small. The service was adequate but indifferent. I needed to make a substitution on a sandwich due to a food sensitivity. The cook staff was very helpful and called the owner to check the ingredients in one of the spreads. Turned out that I couldn't use that spread. So I asked for a recommendation for a substitute. One of the people recommended the Buffalo Mozzarella. The person at the cash register made the adjustments to the order. When I looked down at the listing on the register, I noticed that there was an additional charge of $7.50 for the cheese. This was on a $16.00 sandwich. I could have understood a $1 or $2 charge. But half-again the cost of the sandwich. Other sandwiches on the menu that already have the Buffalo Mozzarella cost the same $16. When I asked about the cost, the cashier shrugged and said, "That's what it says on my side." So due to pricing, policies and an unwillingness to help, I will not be back. read more
