Dare I say, that this is my favorite pizza place? The ingredients are so fresh and artfully cultivated. The service is professional, attentive, and friendly. We like to also sit out on their patio when weather permits. We started with drinks and freshly baked bread while waiting for our pizzas. The bread was fresh out of the oven and so soft and flavorful. The drinks were really good too. The pizza is wood fired, yet soft and fresh. They also have kids pizzas and a butter noodle pasta for the small humans with discriminating taste. The marinara sauce and crust were really good, and the topping ingredients on mine (artichokes, olives, mushrooms) went so well together. Although we've been here before, I had really forgotten how delicious this place was. We'll definitely have to come by more often. read more

I've been to this restaurant on my last vacation to Phoenix and I loved my experience then. The food was fabulous and the service attentive. I was excited to bring my husband this time to experience Fabio's with my five friends. Unfortunately, I didn't like where they sat us, by the kitchen door and bathrooms. I prefer the other side of the restaurant where I sat two years ago on my last visit. That was disappointing. My husband and I shared a starter, the roasted tomato and burrata appetizer. It was creamy and delicious. Three of us in our party of seven ordered the branzino with the San Marzano tomato sauce, olives & capers and roasted potatoes & broccoli on the side for dinner. When they served the branzino to two of us, it was whole and not fileted. It look like it was on a piece of foil without any sauce. We asked if the chef could fillet the fish for us. They were so kind and did that, but as you can see from the photo, the fish was not fileted properly. It was massacred into bite size pieces and not served with any sauce. Another mishap is they forgot my husband's branzino altogether. The whole table was served their entrées and were about 3/4 the way through their meals before his fish showed up. Ugh! Clearly they forgot his and had to start from scratch. These negatives have nothing to do with the restaurant being short staffed. Our server Katharina was attentive and worked so hard. She was sweet and friendly. She noticed the kitchen screwed up and didn't serve the sauce with our fish and said something before we did. There are other positives to our dining experience beside our server. The branzino, once the sauce was brought to us, was actually delicious as was our appetizer. The wine selection was good as well, and Fabio's really does make the best homemade crema di limoncello. It rivals what I had in the Amalfi Coast. Also, their pizza looked absolutely fantastic. One of my friends ordered a pizza and it was the perfect Neapolitan pizza crust, bubbly and thin. At the end of the evening, my husband walked away from Fabio's saying he was conflicted about his experience. He didn't know whether to like it because the food was good or hate it because his entree was forgotten and also he didn't like where our table was. The food was good! The hostess was meh. We came in on a Friday and were treated like pariahs because we didn't have a reservation. A reservation. At 4:30pm. We were told we could have a table but needed to hurry so we could be out for the dinner crowd. Um thanks. Your food isn't good enough to warrant the treatment. Too snobby for Italian food. Was gonna be in the area with no kids so I made a reservation for me and the wife. Was told they had a full bar so wife asked for a mojito "oh were sorry but we're out of mint." It happens no worries. Wife asked for the appetizer special prosciutto wrapped melon, "oh were sorry but we're out of prosciutto." Okay it's an Italian spot so maybe they didn't plan for as busy of a day as they had. Mind you it's 7pm on a Friday. So we switch it up and ask for the pork belly appetizer with hummus. The Bork belly was shaved and cooked extra crispy like bacon and grease was literally pouring off the side of the bird it was served on. We split that and the sage ravioli that my wife said was a bit salty but I enjoyed. You could tell it was scratch made and I would definitely order that again. All in all not gonna go out of my way to go back but definitely needs some refining to really step up into the next class of Italian places here in town. read more

This little Italian restaurant is the real deal folks. I almost don't want to talk about it because it'll get more crowded than it already is but I can't keep it a secret because that would be unfair. The Capriocciosa pizza was amazing. It had San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, artichoke hearts, prosciutto, olives, basil, and EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). It's funny because I'm not a huge fan of artichoke anything unless it's in a dip and not the biggest fan of olives BUT I loved this pizza. The artichoke hearts were soft and velvety and so easy to eat. The olives were a perfect slightly salty type of delicious. I actually looked for them and ate them when they fell off my slices. Next time I think I'll try the Tarantina which had the same first two ingredients but then had spicy salami, Gorgonzola, and white caramelized onions. I would've tried all 11 of them last night but couldn't fit it all in! The veal meatball appetizer was so flavorful and served with freshly baked bread. They had fresh rosemary in a pot on the table so you can pick off the rosemary and sprinkle some in olive oil on your appetizer plate and salt it. The ravioli is hand made daily every morning. Wait, I'm wrong. Every pasta dish is made this way. They sold out of the butternut squash ravioli so we had to settle for the veal and beef ravioli. Poor us, right? It was unbelievable. They also had a lobster ravioli available but my friend and guitar teacher, Pat, who had recommended the veal in such high regards. He is one of the most Italian people I know so we had to go with veal. Pat also recommends the eggplant entrée but again, we'd have to try that next time. Our waitress Fiorella was one of the sweetest, warmest people I've ever met. She was personable and made us laugh and when she spoke in Italian with other staff members, it really did feel like I was invited to a family dinner in Italy. When I was eating that amazing looking and tasting pistachio cannoli, she said, "I'm not going to tell you how to eat it, but you should just use your hands," and gave us no forks for the cannoli. She is the best! They have a smorgasbord of Italian pastries. You can get a box and just pick and choose an assortment of what you like. Everyone seemed to after they finished their dinners. We were the only ones that didn't since we just ate that huge cannoli. Like any awesome restaurant, it's busiest on weekends and the service may be a bit slower. During the week, like on a Tuesday, it's just perfect our waitress said. It's not super fancy or anything but you definitely feel like you're getting a fabulous home cooked authentic Italian meal and experience when you come here. You'd think the pizzas would be the stand out but the pasta may be the real standout. You decide!! read more

Tonight was mine and my boyfriend's first visit to Fabio on Fire and we had a fabulous time. The warm and friendly hostess and wait staff made us feel welcome and right at home. Then the food! We shared the burrata, porchetta, and specials: cioppino and mushroom ravioli - all aromatic, hot and fresh - each seemingly outdoing the one before, ha ha. We were lucky to meet the chef, too, Fabio, himself! Despite a busy house, he made a point to stop and say hello. We think Fabio is fire (!) and will be coming back to sample the rest of the menu! read more

I went to Fabio on Fire tonight. I can say that it did not disappoint. The cocktails were very good and original. They have a complete regular menu but please listen to and explore their daily specials. They are both very fresh and delicious! You can tell they truly care about what they are serving. I had a seafood medley in a white wine reduction. Couldn't have been any better! The pasta was great and I used the two types breads provided to dip and enjoy the reduction as it should be. Their breads are fresh and olive oil/balsamic vinegar were on point. The wait staff was incredible and truly enjoyed Fabio on Fire. Will be back! read more

They've expanded, the restaurant is more than twice the size. Some of the intimacy is gone but it's still a pleasant atmosphere. The staff worked well together to keep pace with customer flow. They were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. My compliments to the busy boy, he the tables clean and fresh. The menu seemed to be the same and I ordered my favorite, the butternut squash ravioli. This was a last minute decision but WOW! was it a great one! We were able to snag a reservation and when we got there the place was busy. The atmosphere was relaxed but you could tell the food was authentic. We ended up having the pork belly appetizer which was more meat than we expected and delish. We were torn as to either get a homemade pasta dish or the brick oven pizza that we were craving! We ended up going with the pizza - Salciccia e Funghi - sausage and mushrooms- it was not a mistake. The flavor was amazing the crust was thin but not too thin and cooked to perfection. For as busy as there were our service was great as well, enough but not too much! This place is absolutely amazing, by far some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The menu changed here and there offering different dishes and their desserts are homemade and very delicious. The servers are all very polite and nice as well as knowledgeable regarding their menu. My wife and I have gone here a few times now and our experiences seem to get better and better. First, I want to say the food is excellent! Very good Italian good, probably some of the best in Phoenix. The down side is the service. We made reservations to sit in a particular area but we weren't seated there ... when we asked why we weren't seated in that area the hostess told us, "Sometimes we move people around." Not a really great answer to guests who have planned on coming to your restaurant. We asked our waitress and received basically the same answer. One great thing was our table provided us a clear view of the hostess stand where we got to watch her eat Cheetos, drink Red Bull and attend to her phone. Tried this place last night...... Atmosphere is very delightful. The patio is great decorated with flowers n low lighting. Service was terrible. No refill on water n not even sure who our waiter was. Had to wave the bus boy down to get an appetizer ordered. Ordered food from someone else who did know English well enough to communicate to us. Also one of my table guests ordered sausage and broccoli and they were out of broccoli. No one at my table was raving about the food. The meatball appetizer was 9 for 5 meatballs and very dry. One guest wanted wine with her meal and she asked for a recommendation and he said I will get that for you but then came back and said they were out of that. It was one disappointment after another. This is a genuine Italian place and they all speak Italian. I wouldn't come back for the price. Please try it for yourself and let me know your thoughts. This was our second visit to Fabio on fire. We ordered the calamari appetizer, followed by the braised short rib ravioli and lasagna. Unfortunately, the first order of calamari arrived undercooked and very greasy. It's possible that the oil had not been brought up to temperature, as we arrived shortly after the restaurant opened for dinner service. My husband pointed it out to our waiter, and he immediately removed it and brought a new, perfectly fried order. My short rib ravioli was spectacular, with a light sage cream sauce. I could have used one more ravioli on my plate, but the smaller amount allowed me to have a nice dessert. My husband's lasagna was very good, with a delicious bolognese sauce. This review is for Fabio on Fire Panini & Gelateria - we had been wanting to try this place since they announced they were open. It gets very crowded inside with folks waiting for orders & some trying to eat with folks standing around them. We ordered "The Puglia" which was very tasty but still missing something a spice flavor something but could taste all the flavors in the Panini together. We also ordered "The Piccante" which was okay but they layered the ingredients separately instead of together to get all the flavors in each bite instead of only onions or spicy salami or arugula it would have been better if all the ingredients were together. Finally they called our number ( like they had been doing ) we go up & the guy left our containers on the counter instead of handing to us ( like he did for others ) he turned around to finish the next order & finally the cashier came up asked if we needed something which we stated yes our food that he called our number for maybe on the counter behind you! I saw this place on TV months ago. My wife and I met over pizza on Wednesdays. We went. Meat and cheese appetizer was excellent with5 meats, 2 kinds of cheese, quince jam, caponata, tiny olives, and wonderful crusty bread. We then had the Bianca Parma pizza. (no tomato sauce), but having imported buffalo mozzarella. Frankly, the amount of cheese was skimpy. However, it was flavorful in total.
