In one of the many funky strip mall of Truxel road, and sandwiched between two other businesses, is some of the best Middle Eastern food I've had recently. Inside is a very tight space where four-person tables dot along the wood-paneled left wall to the back. Greeting you to the right is the L-shaped counter that doubles as an ordering area at the front, and pickup in the middle that's parallel to the tables. Behind the cashier can be seen the lightning-quick cooks slicing, grilling, shaping, frying, and serving up rather large portions at a supremely reasonable price. With so much to try, it felt best to go for the combination plate, and a falafel wrap just in case it was not enough food. My worries that it would be small would soon fade as I was handed a large plate filled to the brim with all sorts of deliciousness: hummus, gyro meat, chicken, tzatziki sauce, salata, and slices of pita. I asked for some hot sauce and was given a stern warning before handed a tiny little sauce container with angry bright-red chili sauce; seeds and all blended into a smooth and intensely spicy-yet-tasty hot-sauce. Everything is simply delicious. The hummus: nice and creamy with chickpea flavor and bit of oil. Chicken: tender slices of orange heavily-spice poultry that runs through the flavor profiles of the spice mix within. The gyro: slices of soft sweet lamb mixture without any dried out parts. The tzatziki: a creamy, dill-filled cucumber sauce with a bit of yogurt's bite. The salata was a bit interesting: a sweet, kinda-salsa of chopped greens marinated in a sweet tzatziki-like sauce. It's funky, but I'm here for it. Finally the pita: triangles of puffy, buttery breadly goodness that went with everything here. It all was simply some of the best falafel and gyro I've had in recent memory and would highly recommend this little strip mall joint. A fabulous 5 from me. read more

I ordered the Combo Platter at N Freeway Blvd and the first thing I noticed was how small the rice and meat portions were. I pushed over the glob of tzatziki sauce to see if more food was underneath. Nope! My two friends also ordered the platters and their portions were MASSIVE! For some reason, my takeout container was clear and a lot smaller than their styrofoam containers. They also have a nice selection of burgers as well. I ordered a combination plate while my friends got wraps. The combination plate was filled with chicken and beef/lamb, rice, salad, and sauces. Pita bread also came on the side. The entire plate was full of food! The meats were delicious and well-seasoned. The veggies were fresh and the rice was magnificent. My friend's wraps were impressive as well. They were certainly a handful. I couldn't finish my combo plate at the restaurant so I took it home where my wife tried it.... and she loved it! So much so that she wanted to go try the Falafel Corner out for herself the next day! In terms of service, the employees were very nice and accommodating. They were eager to serve. The only gripe I have about the restaurant is that there can be limited seating and that the decor isn't the best. But I'm definitely willing to look that over for the amazing food they serve here. From the friendly greeting by the owner, to the locally sourced ingredients (except the Harris Ranch beef), to the wonderful scents that filled the air as the marinated chicken hit the grill, we knew we were in for a wonderful meal. We each had a platter; me the chicken, he the combo. We could have easily shared one, there was that much food, but why share when the price is so reasonable. Everything on the platter was perfect. The pita was warm and soft. The hummus perfect. The salad was simple but had a nice light citrusy dressing on it. The rice was colorful and tasty. The meats were very flavorful and generously portioned. We got to taste the falafel, perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. One can tell that everything was cooked to order, not pre-cooked and left sitting in a warming tray. It is worth the wait for piping hot delicious food. At first there is a chain feel to this place, and it may be a chain, but the food here is great. Came with the gf and we ordered a falafel plate and dolmas. Dolmas came out and they were really good. Freshly made, right amount of lemon used and the tzatziki was refreshing. Sure, it was served in a tinfoil to-go container, but the food was solid and you get 7 dolmas for $5. The value of the falafel plate was also kinda insane. For $8 you get 5 large falafel, more rice than you can eat, hummus, tabouli, 4 pieces of pita and a side salad. Admittedly, I could have done without the salad because these things always seem like an afterthought, but the falafel was definitely the star of the show. Perfectly crispy on the outside, moist and hot in the middle, and beautifully seasoned. They offered me a hot sauce which was a) hot and b) delicious. Been going here for awhile and food is ok, the gyro meat is over cooked and dry. Falafel is very good, but they barely put any onions or tomatoes in the wrap. Couple weeks ago, I bought the falafel wrap to go, got back to work and picked it up to take a bite...and the middle squished in...wth only two falafels balls inside LOL! It was very small and wimpy, used to be three falafel balls inside a falafel wrap! Then there's the cashier guy with glasses, almost always say we're short on change...sorry, so I give him exact change in bills and coins, then he sideways look at us like they want to keep the extra money that they don't have proper change on hand for! Last visit, asked about why only two falafel balls, guy with glasses said that now only two...charged $1 more to get three...just raise the price $1 and sell us a real wrap, not wimpy one with not much of anything inside the pita bread LOL. First and foremost. Ignore the low star reviews. They complain of tight quarters. Heat. Lack of seating. And supposed lack of flavor.... I'm telling you this spot it next level delish! My favorite is the small places. Hole in the wall. Perhaps not the most esthetically pleasing... but authentic they surely don't lack! The prices are right. The gyro platter is huge! The lamb/beef fantastic! The tzatziki and hummus are flavorful and satisfying! We will most definitely be back!!! My only negative. Great Mediterranean food on the other side of town. My sister and I stopped by to grab lunch, we had the combo platter and it was absolutely the best choice. Owners policy is shit. Online and on the store door the hours show they are open till 9pm, but when you go the workers tell you they close at 8:15-8:20. They don't take orders, they don't have anything to show they aren't taking orders online, they won't answer the phone to let customers know we are not taking orders. The doors are open, they have the store hours showing they are open till 9 but workers already turn the grill off at 8 and start turning customers away. This is my first time here and was excited to try this place based on the great reviews. When I arrived at the restaurant. The older man (I'm guessing boss) was running the hot plate and cooking everything. He was working with several younger boys. For whatever reason, the boss walked away to the back with a repair man I'm guessing that came in to fix something? Not sure. So my food was cooked by a more inexperience Midwestern kid. Well, he definitely overcooked my chicken making it super dry. But the gyro was good at-least. Also, once the boss left to the back, the young boys are very unprofessional. The Asian one that took our order has a "I don't want to be here" look on his face. No smile. No eye contact. Droopy eyes. I dined in so I was able to see the work ethics of the 3 youngster. And I must say, if this was my restaurant, I would fire all 3. They have no respect for each other and constantly threw back lashes at each other. The Asian one was single out by the other two Midwestern kid. Feel like I was watching a drama movie while eating my chicken/gyro combo plate. There are falafels and there is Falafel Corner falafel. We stopped by on our trip from Tahoe/Sierraville and wanted an easy pit stop close to 80. Wife wanted a salad with chicken, so they offered to customize their Greek salad with chicken. She loved it. My falafel wrap took a little longer, than her salad and I quickly found out why. They made the falafel fresh to order. It was warm, moist and some of the best falafel I have eaten. And I have eaten a lot of falafel around the world. It has the right amount of crunch, with a flavor that wasn't overpowered by spices. The wrap had an interesting mint sauce that was refreshing and a great compliment to the falafel. I would visit this fast food strip mall joint for their fresh falafels. As an aside they also serve 4 kinds of burgers (including salmon and veggie). For those who eat only Halal meat they make burgers, which I realized must be a difficult fast food item to find for devout Muslims. The falafel is cooked fresh, and it was delicious--crispy and flavorful. The included sauce was great, but make sure you ask for the hot sauce. It is extreme spicy but the taste is excellent.
