Love this place! I'm not from Sacramento and last time I was there, we stumbled upon this place..and we're so glad we did! We love it so much, we make sure to try and come here anytime we're in town. We've tried Mediterranean food all of the country and this place is definitely in my top 3. Things we've tried: -Combo platter = huge and delicious! This is the only place that actually gives you MORE meat than rice. But I honestly wouldn't have minded, because the rice is even good on it's own. - Gyro quesadilla = We would have never thought to get this. To be honest. cheese and gyro is not something I've had, or ever planned to have. But it was our first time here and the guy at the cashier counter guaranteed we wouldn't be disappointed, and he was right :) Highly recommend! -Buffalo wings=Wouldn't ever think to order that here, but my fiance and I LOVE wings, so we tried it. My roommates love this place so I decided to try it out with them. It's in the same complex as Buffalo Wild Wings in Natomas. It was my first time here so I asked the guy at the register (totally forgot to get his name, he was awesome) what wrap I should get and he recommended the chicken gyro wrap. While I was talking to him, I told him that I don't like falafels and he told me that I have to try it there sometime. My roommates both got the chicken platter. We got our food to go and when my food was ready, the guy gave me 3 free falafels to try. The portions are huge and the food was delicious. I loved the little spiciness that they put in the chicken and their version of the tzatziki sauce is the best that I've ever had. Hate when I do that and realize I wasted all this time I could have been enjoying this food that makes my mouth water! This place is pretty good!! My first time here getting lunch and dining in. They have outdoor and indoor seating with social distancing. The menu items looked delicious. Today we tried the chicken platter plate (I think that's what it's called). It was really good and hit the spot today. It had well cooked and seasoned chicken with rice, and lettuce, tomatoes and onions on the side. I forgot what sauce they had on it but it was good. They can also make it spicy. It also came with the pita bread. There was a lot of food for one person so I say their portions are fantastic! Heard so much about this place from so many of my colleagues and friends. Today finally did it. I went here for lunch and such friendly staff/owners. They are not the typical middle eastern restaurant. Their dishes are made with a slight Desi taste to it. I ordered the Falafel wrap - all vegetarian @$5.99. It came super loaded with tzaziki, salata, super hot 3 huge falafels, lettuce and size of 2 spicy sauce. It was extremely filling. I feel like eating it now, writing this review !! My husband had their chicken platter and there was just soo much food on his plate. He said every bite was delicious. We will definitely come back and you gotta try this this too. Post gym lunch. I ordered a spicy chicken wrap with the sauce on the side + curly fries. Food came out within 7-10 mns. Good pricing for the portions. Aloooot of chicken- tasteful, savory, spicy yet a little on the dry side. Curly fries came straight out the fryer. Very yum. The place itself is more of a grab n go but it does have seating which me and my husband used. The tables do their job, nothing fancy. I came here tonight craving gyros (with chicken) and wanting it extremely spicy because I'm very pregnant and wanted to try the spice trick to induce labor lol. I made it very specific that I wanted my food extremely spicy and when I got it, it had absolutely ZERO spice in it. The one dish that was spicy however was my 2 year old sons quesadilla! Which I said no spice at all! The hummus was so bland idk what they put in it cause it's not flavor....the pita bread tasted like something that had been sitting in plastic in a drawer for over a week, and to top it off there was a guy I was observing waiting for his food as well and he was watching the people cook which at first I thought was kinda odd. He ordered a burger and when they went to put the veggies on he stopped them to confirm that was his food and said he will not be eating it because they weren't WEARING ANY GLOVES!! The employees said how it was okay because (insert stupid comment here) and the customer said it doesn't matter. Under the laws of food licensing they need to be wearing gloves and that he worked at a restaurant and knew the rules that weren't being followed. He demanded his money back, which he was given nicely, but it made me feel like I couldn't even imagine what other sanitary steps weren't being taken when preparing the food or in the establishment all together. I love this place so much! The food is always great. Everyone is extremely friendly except for the young Caucasian (white) kid behind the register during the lunch hour. He is extremely rude and gave me a hard time for trying to use a coupon. I think somebody should teach him the art of customer service because a smile can go a long way. Three words: Portions Are Huge. I used Yelp to order my food. I placed the order 20 minutes ahead and headed that way. Expecting to get my food on time. Needless to say once I walked in I knew that would not be the case. The place was PACKED. After speaking with the cashier we both discovered the order hadn't been seen. So my food hadn't been prepare. That's the only Con I have about this place. I ended up having to wait close to 30 minutes after placing an online order. I was not at all upset about this. The chefs were going to work behind the counter making fresh food for the consumers. I checked in, accepted my complimentary Turkish Delight, and proceeded to watch the All Star Game. (In which I discovered they had Team Stephen vs. Team LeBron. Wtf?) anywho, i was given my order of curly fries before my order and waiting an additional 10-15 minutes to get my order. I informed the cashier that my fries had turned cold while waiting and he gladly made a new batch. Awesome! Received the food and the portions are huge. I think I mentioned this already. The falafel are the biggest I've seen to date and everything g was flavorful. They keep their establishment clean and their staff is friendly. I'd been to Falafel Corner a couple of times with friends, and Ive been wanting to go back for the falafel. I was excited to finally have the time to go back. The last time I was here, the place was packed, which doesnt take much, since its a pretty small location to begin with. Because of its size, they have a fly fan above the door that feels like a gust of wind hitting your face when you walk in. There are a handful of tables, and they've made great use of the space by using a small space against the wall and adding barstools. They also have patio seating. The interior design isn't much to look at, but trust me, once you've has the food, your interior design skills will be focused on the food! It was early enough in the day, that I was the only customer there. It was nice! I had the chance to chat with the staff, and they were eager to answer questions, and suggest their favorite items to try. I ended up ordering the gyro's platter, and a couple of falafel to try. Its cool that the falafel can be ordered by themselves. I either had forgotten about the portion sizes, or they have upped their game. Even Budda (yep, thats one of the guys name) said that the portions were huge. There was enough for two meals from one order! All for the price of around $10.00 or so. The meal included a small salad with huge chunks of cucumber, tomatoes, and romain lettuce. A healthy dollop of hummus, a huge bed of colorful tasty rice, with the warm gyro meat on top. Not all Mediterranean food is created equally. Falafel Corner knows good food. Their influence is more Indian and Pakistani. The blends of herbs in the meat and falafel really pop. The gyro meat which I have had in other places called schwarma, is sliced and chopped into bite sized pieces. It is THE item to have there. The tender meat, the flavors, just by itself is really good. The rice was delightfully fluffy, and had a light saffron flavor to it. Just YUM. I loved that the hummus was light and well blended. It was such a great choice! The falafel was tasty, but a tad different from what I am use to. These pieces were much larger in size, and had a surprisingly tasting bit of heat to each bite. It was a nice change from what I am accustomed to. Budda, you were spot on with your suggestions! Thank you for the great tip. You wont find much of a dessert option, as they only offer baklava and turkish delight. If you check in on Yelp, you'll have your choice of a piece of either one. Go for the baklava!! Parking is a challenge, but with a little patience, a parking spot will be yours. The staff is super friendly, & the food is super good. Everything is made in house, including the sauces. They do get crowded during peak meal times. They are opening a new location in the Folsom area by the college!! They expect to be open in about 2-3 months. This happened before COVID. Very disappointed. I came in because of all the positive reviews. There was only myself and a mother with her young child when I went in to order food. There was a cashier and three other guys working the line. It took about 15-20 minutes for me to get my gyro wrap after ordering. For some reason, only one person was making the food even though there was three people and no other customers besides myself and the mother and child. After I received my food, I just went ahead and left. I didn't think to look at the food. It was crap. It looked so horrible I returned to the store for a refund. This was my first time at Falafel Corner and all i can say is this place is so good, down to the service, fresh food, and great atmosphere (Seating is limited if you go during lunch since it gets busy but they do have outside seating which is nice. My friend and i decided to grab a quick lunch and decided on the Chicken Gyro and the Falafel Gyro, both were fresh, under $9 with a drink, and the gyro presentation was on point. The falafel is made fresh so it took a little longer to get the order, but it was well worth the wait. Its so flavorful and the outside has a great crunch while the inside has this moist filling. The sauces compliment the taste and honestly its just a great food experience. I highly recommend anyone to try this place out if you are in the area. Best Gyro I have had in California so far. The staff is helpful and attentive. Every time I go here I find it difficult to pick something else since what I order seems like the best thing they have here. I ordered a Gyro which consist of beef and lamb, as well as a badmash burger since the photo makes it look so delicious. Since I am a fan of spice, I also asked them for their special hot sauce. They Gyro itself is full of flavor especially when you add the hot sauce to it and the meat is not dry at all. I did the same with the badmash burger and this burger is very juicy and was surprised to find such a delicious burger when they don't mention that they specialize in this. One dish I wasn't a fan of was the falafel itself, but that could be because I'm a meat eater. I have been here various times and they have been consistent with their order.
