I love middle eastern food and can't say I'm an expert but the meat on their gyro was so tender and the flavor was good. My husband had the Philly version. We also had some calamari which was cooked perfect. If you don't know Hayward and it's back streets just be prepared for traffic around commute times. Parking is available and for those that like kiosks to order and pay they have one. The gentleman that helped me was very nice. Give them a try! Next time I'll take better pictures. read more

Get out the fancy dishes - new restaurant wakes up the the taste buds of Hayward's sleepy residents!!! Yes, this food is worthy of the fine China. Bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Philly wrap with generous portion of very flavorful and well seasoned beef. Green peppers, grilled mushrooms and just the right amount of cheese to compliment but not overpower. There are so many sleepy, tired and sad restaurants in Hayward - like that Italian one next to Docs Wine shop - 'Di Parma' or the Hickory Pit. They desperately need the help of Gordon Ramsay. This is a sharp contrast. Totally renovated, crisp minimalist interior - with no nonsense casual food for everyday enjoyment. The menu has a good variety - almost a bit ambitious - pizza and burgers included. Something for everybody. Now if you live nearby there is no reason for you to pay $13 for a Big Mac meal and hang in a 20 minute long drive thru line. Parking lot 7 on Mission convenient to the front door even connects with lot 3 that exits on Main - good fun. For your further parking enjoyment across the street is the garage next to the library - plug in your hybrid or EV while you eat. Scientific studies have shown benefit to eating a somewhat sugary dessert. All the more reason to try the bakalava. Has something to do with signaling to the brain that you are done eating... So this place is really tasty. Have eaten there a few times. My ONLY complaint, is one that applies to this "genre" of food... being mediterranean / middle eastern... IT's ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE. But show me a place of this kind of food that isn't... SUCKS, but it is what it is right? If you love the food then you'll pay for it... And i have a few times here... But some of my extra favs are their desserts... they have a few flavors of creamy popsicles...kefir ice cream...and they have baklava, and turkish delight.. No VIRAL Dubai pistachio knafa though! LOL, j/k since that is the thing it seems everyone thinks of now with this kind of food, since it's gone all viral, lol. First time trying this place and it did not disappoint! Gyros were sauced perfectly, no gristle and fresh veggies. The pita was super fluffy and the hummus tastes fresh and homemade. Got a delicious falafel sandwich with hummus instead of tahini and extra lettuce accompanied by an order of hot, crispy fries. Little ketchup and mustard for the fries and all was great. The tahini sauce normally used in the falafel sandwiches has been made with mayonnaise but I wanted the sandwich all plant based and found the hummus used instead just hit the spot. Service was great with the cust serv rep, Seth, paying close attn to detail re my needs. So happy to add this eatery to my list of brunch, lunch and dinner likes. Convenient Mediterranean food in Hayward. We haven't been to a Falafel Flame before and stopped by Sunday afternoon around 1pm - it wasn't busy and we were able to order from the kiosk. Food came out fairly quickly - I ordered the veggie/falafel plate and my husband got the chicken plate. I also ordered a mango lassi and it was the most orange mango lassi i've ever seen. A solid Mediterranean spot! Located in downtown Hayward, they offer wraps, salads, and plates. We ordered the chicken wrap, gyro wrap, curly fries and baklava. The wraps were so filling and flavorful. The chicken in the chicken wrap was kind of dry, but other than that, no complaints. The curly fries weren't too salty and perfectly crispy. I've never had baklava before, but this was so delicious! It was flakey and crisp with walnuts inside. The service was good with the worker coming by to check in occasionally. Also the restaurant was clean and spacious. Definitely would be back to try their plates and platters. read more

It's a pretty standard gyro. Which isn't a bad thing because standard gyros are good and they are pretty generous with the meat. Pita was also fresh and fluffy. It looked a little small when it came out but the amount of meat made it a dense and filling treat. read more

The meat was well-cooked, but still tender and very flavorful. Their rice and hummus are perfect ride-alongs. I thought the chicken salad was one of the tastiest salads I'd had in a long time. Ample and easy parking lot. After you entered the establishment, the friendly owner greeted me with a smile. He also pointed out the kiosk that I can self order from or I can place an order with him. As I scrolled through the menu, I ended up ordering the chciken and beef combo kebab platter and a side order of the falafel. The owner did come out and confirmed wiht me about the 20 min waiting time for my platter. While waiting for my order, I saw another table order the wrap. The wraps were huge! Now, I'm thinking to myself, why did I not order a wrap? That will be for my next trip here to try! My order was finally ready, he offered my sauces the garlic sauce and the tzatziki sauce. Once I got into the car, I could not wait anymore and opened my meal, the environmentally friendly take out box was soggy so my meal tipped over a bit, luckily it didnt spill, just had a few pieces of lettuce fly off. The chicken was a bit dry and the beef was not as tender as I would like it but the garlic sauce is to die for! I literally drenched my proteins in the garlic sauce and ate it. The tzatziki sauce was nice but the garlic sauce is a must!!! The falafels were ok as well, the garlic sauce would be great for dipping them before eating. The cashier advised it would be about a 20 minute wait. 30-45 minutes later my food arrived. My first impression, I was surprised how small the portion was for the combo plate. For the price I was underwhelmed how scant amount of food was given. Chicken and beef lacked flavor and did not have much taste. It almost felt like I ate nothing. The flame burger was better but still felt underwhelming as well. It was a hearty burger but for some reason they were not able to pull off the combination of beef patties, bacon and egg.
