    Giant Falafel Wrap
    Manny Y.

I was perusing Too Good To Go app so I bought a meal to save. I went to this place and met the owner-chef. He said he just opened 8 weeks ago! I got a falafel sandwich and he made an extra large one for me since I was the last customer of the day. The place is well lit and clean. The people there are nice. I asked one of the guys to take a photo of the food they were making and by the chef-owner. Say hi to Bill and tell him Manny sent you. Support small businesses in San Francisco.

*Taps card* Me: "Can I add tip, please?" Billy (owner): "No tip. Your visit is already a blessing!" *Ahem* Other businesses, please take note! I've only been to 7-8 Yemeni restos and one thing they have in common is their exceptional hospitality. Customers are treated like family and considered a blessing. Falafelland was previously on 6th/Minna streets (no table seating) and was going to move into a larger space but then the pandemic hit and it didn't happen. Thanks to the Tenderloin Storefront Opportunity Grant Program and the mayor's efforts to revitalize the TL, Falafelland is back in a new space in the TL (opened 12/18/25). Open for takeout and limited dine-in with two tables and some bench seating. M E N U Yemeni stews, wraps, and rice plates. Complimentary chai and red tea. F O O D * Falafel ($1 each) Fried-to-order, the falafels are exceptional. Crunchy and moist with earthy, warming spices. They're cut in half and drizzled with tahini, sumac, and hot sauce (by request) for a creamy spicy tang. The owner's spin? He adds avocado and blueberries to his falafel mix which keeps the interior moist and fluffy. * Lamb Shank Platter (off the menu - $19.99) Huge, vibrant platter of roasted lamb shank along Mediterranean style rice, a fresh tomato + cucumber salad, tahini, hummus, and green olives. Great variety and generous portion for the price. S E R V I C E Incredibly warm and gracious hospitality. It's a one-man show so keep that in mind if you have time constraints. A M B I A N C E Tiny, cozy space with two tables and red Aztec/Southwestern style decor (sorry, don't know the yemen name for this). If you're looking for one of the best falafels, don't sleep on Falafelland!

The mayor posted a new restaurant in the Tenderloin, so I had to check it out. Falafelland, a Mediterranean and Yemeni restaurant, took over the space that used to be Le Petite near UC Law. That space has been vacant for a long time, so I'm glad it's being occupied. I had to get falafels, so I chose the salad and rice falafel plate. While I was waiting, I was given an appetizer which I think was lentils wrapped in grape leaves. I was also given another appetizer with my to-go order, which was mashed dates with black seeds. I was told it was a Yemeni appetizer. The falafels are absolutely delicious! They are crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside. I think they told me they put avocado in the batter... either way, it's one of the best falafels I've had. And the rice was flavorful as well. The salad was mostly pickled veggies with pomegranates seeds. And there was also a side of hummus. As for the appetizers, I enjoyed the grape leaves stuffed with lentils, which came with a spicy sauce. I also liked the Yemeni appetizer, which had a subtle sweetness. And everyone was really nice! And it's pretty cozy inside. There's not much room to maneuver because of the couches and the narrow tables, but that's part of the charm. I apologize for not knowing the names of the appetizers. I'm not familiar with Yemen cuisine, but I definitely want to come back and try more!

Food was amazing, tea was amazing, service was wonderful getting to know the owner. He takes pride in his work and in his dishes. Very warm and welcoming. I have started referring all of my nearby coworkers to this spot and they all say the same thing- best wraps they have had in the city. Will always return.

Food was really good and the portions are good size. I had the chicken with rice. Very good customer service with reasonable price .

Went to their Grand Opening (12/18/25) to try their menu. Very excellent Falafel. Also had the Baklava. Excellent as well. Go and try them and you won't be disappointed.

We ordered the shawarma and hummus, and everything was fresh and well seasoned. The meat in the shawarma was juicy and not dry, and the hummus was very smooth and creamy, clearly made well. A great spot if you're craving something tasty and satisfying from Middle Eastern cuisine. I'd definitely come back.

The location on Geary is excellent--it has that perfect neighborhood "bodega" feel but with a polished, modern edge. ### The Vibe & Service The ambiance is casual and welcoming, and the service is consistently solid. It's the kind of place where the staff actually seems happy you're there. On a sunny San Francisco afternoon, their **alfresco seating** is the place to be. There's nothing quite like tearing into a warm pita while catching some rays on the sidewalk. ### The Food The "delicacies" here are the real deal: * **Hummus:** Incredibly smooth and rich. It's clearly the star of the show. * **Babaganoush:** Perfectly smoky and creamy. * **Falafel:** Crispy on the outside, vibrant green and fluffy on the inside--just how it should be. * **Pita:** Hands down some of the best in the city. It arrives warm, pillowy, and fresh. * **Salads:** Don't sleep on the sides. The Israeli salad and cabbage are crisp, fresh, and provide that necessary acidic bite to cut through the rich tahini and hummus. **Verdict:** Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or lingering over a spread of small plates outside, this place delivers. High-quality, authentic flavors with a great community vibe. Definitely a staple in my SF rotation.

From the River to the Sea…read more This is the second location for this local, family-owned Palestinian restaurant that opened in 2019 and is operated by Samir Mogannam, the son of the former owner of the Burgermeister that formerly occupied this space, as well as the original Church St. location. Mogannam did a complete rebrand from an American burger restaurant to a fast-casual "Arabic comfort food" establishment that's named in honor of his mother and features her scratch-made recipes. To say it's a success is an understatement, as they've been named one of the best restaurants in SF not just by the Chronicle, but even made the NY Times' "The 25 Best Restaurants in San Francisco Right Now." After one visit, it's clear to see why. The Good: * Yelp Waitlist available * Bus stop right outside the door * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Fast-casual order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. * Service was friendly and efficient. * Palestinian and Jordanian beers in bottles! I didn't even know that was a thing. * Falafel were about 98.753% like my mom's. In a word: delicious. * Musakhan was phenomenal. The chicken was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and the sumac-onion "relish" was spot on. Get this. * Handmade pita bread was delicious. * Carissa enjoyed her Shish Tawook plate, as they were smart again and used chicken thighs which kept the well-seasoned meat nice and juicy. The concomitant hummus was fantastic, and the "Mom's Rice" was fuhgeddaboudit good. She did think the chicken could've used an extra thirty seconds on the grill to firm up the meat just a touch, but otherwise it was perfect. The Meh: * The Fattoush salad was just OK. It was overdressed and needed more dates that were cut into smaller pieces so that you get more of it in each bite to help offset the vinegar. The Ugly: * Parking here is a real hassle, as it's street parking only and it's all neighborhoods. So, be prepared to drive around endlessly looking for an opening. Conclusion: Best Palestinian food outside of me mum's kitchen. 'Nuff said. **https://www.sfchronicle.com/projects/2024/best-san-francisco-restaurants/ ***https://www.nytimes.com/article/best-san-francisco-restaurants.html

There was complimentary bread which was insanely good and fluffy and warm plus tahini and an onion tomato sauce I think along with radishes and olives. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. For a place that otherwise shows real kitchen confidence, it was a jarring miss and it's the only reason I'm not handing over a full five stars without hesitation. My advice is simple: come here for the sandwiches. They're the star of the show and they earn every bit of the praise. Skip the falafel until they sort out the execution, the potential is there, the technique just needs work. Fannoos has real bones.
