I routinely write reviews because a restaurant has blown my mind and I can't wait to share a great experience. And Famous Dave's is usually consistently great BBQ. But recently it wasn't. Not everything, just the brisket. It was stringy and you know that won't do. So it was take out and they didn't respond to the complaint so disappointing, but we will still be back because it's mostly delicious. read more

Came here for my first time ever to celebrate 4th of July with my partner. The restaurant wasnt too busy to dine in since it was 4th of july, but the to go side was slammed! We were taken care of by Miss Onie S who happened to have the most friendliest personality. We let her know it was our first time trying Famous Dave's and I asked her for her recommendations. She went on an gave me a few tips on some tasty meals I might enjoy. I ended up choosing one of the items she recommended and the food was amazing! We had the Feat for 2 (which could honestly feed about 2-4ppl). They also have $3 drinks everyday which rotate depending on the day of the week. Tuesdays is $3 mojitos, which they were out of, but Onie was kind enough to offer us a diff selection & we chose Vodka Cranberry. I told miss Onie S that I came with a full appetite so honey I finished a good amount of those delicious ribs. The ribs were so juicy and damn near fell off the bone. The chopped pork was delish & that cornbread was tasty! Alls was missing was some collard greens! Onie S made several trips around our table ensuring we were well taken care of, she was so patient with us because since it was our first time there we took a few minutes than usual to read the menu. First time really going to a BBQ spot, I've always seen this place while I'm at mountain grove. Went in and was immediately helped by Onie, she was really sweet and was quick to serve us. Got the feast for two and was surprised by how much food we got. The brisket was super tender and juicy. But those ribs were even better, didn't need any extra sauce. There are good and bad to this restaurant. The service and the staff members are very attentive and do a great job despite being very understaff. The restaurant is neat and clean to a point, and I appreciate the staff trying to make it work. However, the food was a little questionable in my opinion. I've tried extensive amount of American BBQ, and it was not up to the standard. It seemed the bbq was not grilled long enough. It was a little tough and lack the flavor I was expecting. My friends also said the same, and I have been to Texas just to have BBQ and my friends tried Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee, and a few different state BBQ. It was very disappointing. read more

We put in our reservation ahead of time and when we arrived we were seated in the bar area. It seemed a bit strange to us since it wasn't busy at all tonight. We had a party of fIve and ordered 2 orders of rib tip happy hour specials, two sides, two sandwiches with sides and a kids meal. 35 min later we asked the waiter about the food. He said he would check on it. 15 min later he finally came with our food. Unfortunately the food wasn't very good. The tips were tough and the pork was very salty. And on top of that they brought out the wrongs sides for the kids meal. By the time we finished our meal it was already 10pm. We asked for our check and had to wait still again. There were a lot of workers in there but sadly not very much service. Especially since the place was not busy at all. It's a shame because we have enjoyed this place in the past but it has definitely changed. We were very disappointed and our dinner guest was down right angry by the time we left. read more
