On 8/21/2024 myself and two old friends decided to meet at Dave's bbq for a quasi reunion . I arrived first and waited with two other people for about eight minutes to be seated I finally walked into the main floor and noticed maybe ten people inside. The waitress walked up and seated me and I asked her "are you the only waitress " she said "yes someone called in ". My friends showed they had ribs with no complaints and I had the brisket which was like rubber and fatty. The next day two of us had diarrhea and my stomach two day later is still messed up. Famous Dave's is a classic BBQ chain. Good for family dinner. We get the feast for 2 and it feeds a family of four. Lots of food! Staff is polite and the beer is COLD . I love that they have lots of BBQ sauce options (right on your table) and they usually give you some fresh potato chips while you wait for your meal. The chopped pork is good, as are the ribs, brisket, chicken, beans, fries, cole slaw and cornbread muffins. You can't go wrong ordering just about anything off the menu. Parking is a bit tight as it shares the lot with Romano's Macaroni Grill. read more

We came here on a Saturday around 4:30 and it was the perfect time to come because it wasn't very busy at all. The food was great. I ordered the catfish which was delicious. Also tried many other items on the menu from my family's plates and nothing disappointed. To top it off the service was fantastic! Onie was our server and took extra good care of us and was a delight :D She checked on us plenty of times and patiently answered lots of questions we had about the menu. She even eagerly offered to correct an item we ordered wrong without hesitation. We'll definitely be back next time we are in the area. Yummy barbecue. We like to eat at the bar. Fast, consistent service and great bbq. Also very kid friendly so feel free to bring the kids. Update since COVID: sat on the patio in the front of the restaurant and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were very attentive and food was awesome. Even though they were short on staff the service was excellent. The manager even helped out and made sure we were comfortable and satisfied. Kudos to the team - we know times are hard right now and adjusting to the new regulations have been tough. Will definitely be back to support until things get back to normal. read more

12/30/2019 We live in Los Angeles. Our 2 children and 6 grand kids live in Yucaipa. We have been to and had pick up from this location many times. The service is great, food is plentiful, tasty and fairly priced. Never had any problems until this last order. My daughter and son in law picked up our order, as we ordered by phone a few days prior through their catering. . We they came back we noticed that we were missing a 3lb. portion of the brisket. We initially ordered 13 lbs., but only got 11. So a bunch of hungry kids and parents had to wait. Daughter, son and law went back with the receipt, and showed them they left off the 3 lbs. of brisket. Not only did they give us our missing 3lbs., they added in an additional 2 lbs., and even threw in a large order of the Wilbur beans, plus 3 sides of potato salad. That's pretty darn nice. Onie served us with great patience and was very attentive to our dining experience. Onie is a very caring and a kind person who always strives to make our eating experience pleasant and satisfying. Order was taken with skill to assure accuracy. Onie checked on us frequently. Food was hot as expected and tasted great! Portions were very acceptable. Meat was well seasoned, and the sides were all (2 +1) very tasty. I love the BBQ sauces on the table. I loved the Wilbur beans. The apple pie was excellent -- nice crust and sweet filling. We've eaten at their location in Chattanooga, TN years ago and decided to give it another try. We got one of the family feasts for our little family of three and it was plenty for us AND we still had leftovers! Even though this place is a chain it doesn't lack in quality or flavor. The chicken was juicy and the ribs were tender. The chopped pork had a nice smokey flavor and wasn't dry like I was expecting.The Mac and cheese is yummy with the jalapeños. Also, try their baked beans!! Soooo good! I love that they bring a caddy to your table with like 6 different bbq sauces and fresh homemade bbq chips!! They're kettle style so they have crispness and loads of flavor. The banana pudding is good if you have space in your belly. First off I'd like to mention, it's been years since I've been to this location and use to come here all the time. Then it was great! The music was great, the staff was awesome! It made you feel like you were in a real down south bbq restaurant. Last time I was at this location, it was in 2013. Yesterday first time in all these years we finally came back to sat down for lunch with our family. Right from the start, something didn't feel right, but we let that go, so we get seated and was asked what we wanted to drink, mind you there was only two other tables being waited on plus ours. Why did it take 20 mins to get 6 people a drink then once it arrived, two of the drinks were wrong and my two little daughters did not have ice in their lemonade. We ask the waitress and mentioned their was no ice in our girls drink, and she said oh did you want ice, me and my wife looked at each other and said yes because you had put ice in the older kid's lemonade but not there's. She said ok, are you ready to order. I said you know what no! Because we already do not like the service you're giving us right now. Lightning was horrible! Dim lighting in the middle and the booths had bright as hell led bright white lighting right in your face! Service took forever, no since of urgency at all. It's supposed to be a BBQ PIT didn't smell of any smoke or spices being cooked, food was cold, and obviously not prepared minutes before. Smoked meat upon arrival looked as though it had been frozen for days. Store bought 1$ bread with a little bit of butter spread is this restaurants way of making Texas toast. Pies are store bought as well and taste like there frozen for months as well. Over the past few years the quality of service at this restaurant has really gone down hill. Waiting up to 50 minutes for food only to find out that they give priority to their carry out customers. However, I would recommend coming in earlier in the day because for some reason, the meat always tastes better to me when I come in for lunch or before 4pm. The staff here is very nice! The manager will actually come to your table and check on you. The sweet tea is delicious and I would highly recommend the bread pudding for dessert.
