The control group is dining at the bar as a couple, in the dining room as a couple, and alone again at the bar. It's the last visit that prompted me to finally write this review. Consistency: The 3-star review is based on inconsistency consistently occurring over the time and quantities listed above. First, my initial impression was that The Feast lived up to its namesake, and my then gf and I rated some items higher than others. For example, the seasoned potatoes are exemplary! The brisket and chicken were very good and so was the pulked pork. The choices of sauce can be mixed or matched, plus the corn and corn bread were delicious. We left full and happy with the service from the bar despite how busy it was. 4.5/5-stars The second visit wasn't so memorable. Not attributable to a relationship in decline, but our entrees and sides were not entirely what we remembered in taste or texture. The dining room booth was nice, nor was it very busy midweek, so I felt that the kitchen is where the problem lies. Service was competent, as it should be on a slower evening. 3.5/5-stars Finally, my solo adventure. I arrived just before noon and headed straight to the bar since groups were already assembling and being seated in the main dining room. I cannot fault the young bartender who took my order and poured a beer for the low rating. You see, I thought the brisket Sandwich sounded good and the spicy macncheese appealed because I love it generally, and it was one side I didn't try previously. The food arrived quickly enough. Too quickly I thought. See the pic below and you'll understand: presentation grade C- (not a passing grade in a competency course). The meat and bun were dry and lukewarm, plus the meat was tough and cut too thick to layer properly. Amateur hour back in the kitchen I thought. The side too was disappointing and I left feeling ripped off. It made Dickey's BBQ look better than I originally thought. 2/5 (not for service, just the food) Oh well, maybe it's just this location that cannot replicate food accurately every time, but doubt that I will return. Im really torn on how to review this place. The service is slow but the food is good. Well, usually it is good but lately we have had a lot of issues with this place. Issues such as: -Bones left behind in their baked beans. -Food is out slower than usual. -Servers not coming to check on our table or taking our orders promptly. -Messing up our order. This place was pretty good. BBQ beans are awesome, mashed potatoes are good, their Cajun chicken sandwich is to die for, and so is their bread pudding. The drinks are all good too! It's just been downhill for a while now at this location. Hopefully management will fix the slow service. read more

I ate here 12/9/20 Don't go here until the COVID situation is over. They are now running it like a fast food joint. I paid approx 110.00 for a 5 person order. It was ready in 10mins. I was expecting to wait at least 30 mins and would have happily waited. Sadly we received dry precooked chicken, reheated wings, the smallest sides ever. They got part of my order wrong. My wife's brisket was really cold. I really loved this place too. So we ordered out for my son's birthday at home. He had such a disappointed look on his face while eating. This franchise has good food. Every time I come to this place, the food is always tender and moist. I haven't had a bad experience yet. The staff is good as well. I am only giving this place three stars is because its a chain restaurant. For the most part, they all taste the same. Its a good spot to hangout with friends and watch sports. Last Saturday, the 6th of August, 2022, my husband, my three sons, myself and two of our granddaughters, went to Famous Dave's on Lugonia in Redlands, California. Our granddaughters had just finished a performance in a musical and we wanted to enjoy a meal with them. Everyone was very hungry and very thirsty. The temperatures that day were high at 109 degrees. We waited about 15 minutes or so to be seated. The restaurant wasn't too busy, with quite a few empty tables available. Despite the empty tables, we had a little bit of a wait. We tried to just be patient despite being super hungry. We were seated around 6 pm. We were greeted by our server who immediately made us aware that the restaurant had a new system for the servers that they were just starting. I found that really strange that the management would be implementing a brand new system for their servers on the weekend when they are expected to have their busiest business hours. I have worked in the food industry and know that it would seem that a new system for the restaurant servers would be introduced on slower days, like a Monday or Tuesday. We placed our drink orders, got our drinks and ordered our two orders of burnt ends. It took awhile but eventually the burnt ends showed up. Sadly, the portions for the burnt ends was absurdly small for $15 each. We made do because we were so hungry. Our server had several tables, including one with 16 people, so we had to wait. Sigh. Finally, we placed our orders. Time was going by and we had each had refills of our drinks a couple of times but still no food. My granddaughters are 7 and 9 1/2 and very hungry. My husband and my oldest son started conversing about just leaving because we had no food and I was feeling faint. Our server overheard us and quickly went to get the manager. He came over to confront us about our desire to consider leaving. He immediately started telling us how they just started a new system and that the food takes awhile, yada, yada, etc. My oldest son and husband and I responded back with respect that none of that was our fault or needed to be shared with us, because we just wanted our food. We made sure that the manager knew how unhappy and unsatisfied we were with the small portions of our appetizer and how we were not willing to accept the excuses being shared with us, the customers. We didn't make a crucial decision to implement a new system that caused a backup in their kitchen. We, the customers, were forced to suffer poor customer service due to very unsatisfactory service. To make matters worse, suddenly the food started being served within seconds of our conversation with the manager. Hmmm. We got our food served to us at 7:22 pm. Our delight turned to becoming even more frustrated. The girls and our other sons ordered Mac and cheese as one of their sides, but there was chunks of jalapeños in it. Why?!? The Mac and cheese tasted absolutely tasteless. More like paste than food. The girls couldn't eat it. As we were leaving the restaurant, my oldest son found out that the restaurant had an option NOT shared with us. He found out that the restaurant has Kraft Mac and cheese as an option, with NO jalapeños!! Why did our server NOT offer this to us?!? My son was livid, as were the rest of us. Such a missed opportunity by Famous Dave's to give our family a nice, tasty meal together as a delicious finish to our fantastic day as a family, seeing our two granddaughters perform in their first children's theater performance in the musical "Aladdin Jr."... There is NO WAY we will EVER give Famous Dave's Restaurant the opportunity to insult our family members EVER again. A LOT of money was spent with a tiny 15% comped off of our tab...not NEARLY enough for us enduring such an experience. This experience is EXACTLY the reason why the next time we want to enjoy a BBQ meal in Redlands, it will be with a restaurant that is NOT a chain. I have discovered that restaurants that are not a chain serve BETTER food, BIGGER portions and practice true customer service that you should expect and receive when you choose to eat out. In these days of inflated prices on EVERYTHING, choosing to eat at ANY restaurant should be relaxing and enjoyable, everything we did NOT get at Famous Dave's in Redlands. The food is good, tasty barbecue, but this chain location in Redlands has really gone downhill. They have almost no staff so service is slow and the place was nearly empty but people were not getting seated and served in a timely manner. The server was nice but clearly overwhelmed. I ordered food to go and after getting home I opened my food to realize I had gotten someone's else order. Bummer but it happens. It was busy and they were doing their best. Mistakes happen. I call in and speak with Rudy who was so kind and understanding. He told me to come into tomorrow and he would remake my order. He told me what hours he was working. I showed up and was assisted by Corrina who got Rudy and they remade my order. They were so kind, but you can tell that is who they generally are, it wasn't fake customer service. First time ever eating at Famous Dave's. I went on memorial day expecting there to be a huge wait time. To my surprise we got seated right away. This was probably the worst bbq place I've ever been. The food was terrible. There is no way they are smoking this meat here. I ordered a 3 meat plate. The Tritip was extremely tough. The brisket had no flavor and the chicken tasted like microwaved meat. The meat has no smoke flavor. I have to assume that they get there meat precooked. And on top of that the croutons on my Caesar salad were stale. read more

Worst service EVER! Came for a late lunch. I saw maybe 3 tables with customers seated. Waited 10 min to get seated. Then another 14 min for someone to acknowledged we were here.
