Have been there a few times and so far have loved every dish...every visit. Usually, we go on sundays and it is packed!!! Which i think is always a good thing. We have always had to wait a few minutes for a table. However, today we went during the week. (Wednesday) half of the restaurant was full. Got seated right away. Always friendly. The ambiance is great- the music they had playing was also great. Had my daughter dancing lol (80s music) The food is delicious, fresh. Served in a fancy way. If that makes sense? Lol The plating is very appetizing. **Its on the same building as Redwood Credit Union. It was a little hard to find on our first time there. I tried this place several years ago and didn't really enjoy it much. I'm guessing they changed hands because it's so much better now. The menu is fresh and fun! A twist on old favs. I must say they make the best Belgian Waffles ever. Light, very light and delicious. Served with a few strawberries and blueberries. I almost always have this because it's so light (even for a waffle). The menu has a variety to please all even the most discerning palates. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They're sandwiches are very good and so fresh. They offer choices in sides they serve with them. For snackers they offer yummy garlic fries. I heard they have the best BLT ever. Staff is friendly and so helpful and kind, and rare I say even engaging but will leave you be if you send that vibe. The interior is light and bright with lots of glass and really clean with modern decor, beautiful glass vertical thin tiles that really add a wonderful touch. The owner is one of the chefs so I've heard. He's adorable. Once I saw him bring an amazing creation to a woman and we spoke briefly, she said he is her husband. How sweet is that. Fandee's is a local favorite and, as locals for 30 plus years, we have enjoyed a number of meals here. This week we stopped by for breakfast. The meal was okay, service was good, although an additional waitress at the busy breakfast time would have allowed for a more timely service. In the number of times we have dined here, I haven't had a need to use the toilet facilities. This time I did and it was filthy. Black grime over the walls, floors that haven't been mopped, unclean toilets and no hand soap to be had! One cannot help but wonder how clean the kitchen facilities are kept, or does this lack of cleanliness carry over to the food preparation area. It's been a while since we've eaten here. We got takeout on Saturday 03-16-2024. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He said they were fabulous. I ordered the pork chop and I must say it was better than the last time I ordered. The mashed potatoes were tasty and the compote I love. No need to talk about earlier dinners that were not up to par and not reviewed. But they are definitely back in the game and everything was wonderful. Parking is easy. The food was late and delivered at different times, by the time the first person was done the last was getting their meal. The waitress was crying, because of some problem with co-workers. This is a classic restaurant that offers fresh food and great portions. It reminds me of the Greek "diners" in Chicago but without the bread baskets. The fried chicken is crispy, juicy and everything you look for in fried chicken. The turkey dinner is a great option when I get make up my mind, same with the chicken marsala which is full of mushrooms, gravy and flavor. The short rib is amazing and definitely my favorite. The beignets aren't my favorite but I do love the chantilly crème sauce it comes with is amazing. read more

Fandees is so hit or miss that I'm honestly not sure if it's worth the risk at this point. You will either get your food fairly promptly, or sit forever and a day while you wait for your dinner ( we are currently at 1:15 minutes waiting as I write this). Fish n chips. Blah. The batter doesn't stick to the fish when you cut a bite. The chips are fricking string fries like McDonalds instead of steak fries or something beefier. The service here is lacking attention. Seated on the patio and two parties seated after us acknowledged and served drinks before someone came to our table. Asked for condiments when we ordered food and had to go back in the restaurant to remind the staff that I was waiting for it. Food got cold while waiting. Disappointed in this place. I have been in here a few times lately because my mother-in-law loves this place. There are not a lot of breakfast places in Sebastopol but this one is the place to choose. She always gets a waffle. She says they rock. My husband and I try different things and haven't had anything bad yet. The Benedict is yummy; the clams were as well; the fish and chips actually surprised me they were so good. The ruben was delicious as well. We will keep returning and keep trying different dishes, though I may have the fish and chips next time, lol. read more

trust me when I tell you this is THE BEST spot in Sebastopol. Oh my goodness, we went in for dinner and left having a very memorable dining experience. we started with a glass of vino and the warm olives! do not skip this one. so many flavor notes, citrus, fresh herbs and garlic. Wow I could've stopped right there and gone home happy but that was just the beginning. We also wanted to try the corn fritters which were perfectly crisp on the out side with fresh sweet kernels inside, the aïoli it comes with was exactly what it needed I think we ate the entire batch and will defiantly be back for more soon. For me the crispy Brussels were the best, I am a huge fan of and they were cooked just right. Fork tender with a crisp outer layer. for dinner, my husband is a huge fan of really really really exceptional fried chicken and Fandee's is not playing games. first of all it came to the table still pipping hot and in my opinion that is the only way to enjoy it. the breading was beautifully seasoned and the chicken was moist. if that weren't enough we had to try their beignet with a side of crème anglaise. they were light pillows of air and were a huge win for the entire table. Our overall experience at this family owned and local sourced everything made in house restaurant is that the owner/chef really knows what he is doing and most importantly cooks and prepares his food with so much love. this menu is thoughtfully put together and executed. I do not understand the fandom for Fandee's. We have eaten here twice. Dinner months ago and Father's Day Brunch. The service is fine. No complaints here. But the food is just mediocre at best. I had a breakfast hash and it was so over seasoned with pepper. I could not taste anything but the seasoning. No flavor from the actual food came through. for dinner the previous visit, I had the fried chicken. It had the strangest aftertaste. Three of us went to lunch at Fandee's this week because we had an appointment at Redwood Credit Union. My husband and I were hesitant to eat there again because we have been disappointed at the lack of good service at Fandee's during prior visits. So we tried again. And again, the service was poor. Our server visited our table twice, once to take the order, and once to bring the bill (dontcha just love it when they stick the little card machine in your face to pay). I had originally ordered the fish and chips, and the server said it wasn't available to order until noon (it was 11:40), so I ordered the quesadillas--they were good, though. At 12:04, I watched another server walk by with a plate of fish and chips in hand (WTH!). And it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. We're locals (or loco for trying this place again) and we love to support local, but we're done with Fandee's. Try Mombo's instead, hot pizza and cold beer--the service is way better, too. read more

What the heck Sebastopol?! This place is absolutely amazing! We were absolutely blown away! From the outside and inside, it looks like a traditional diner but the food... oh my goodness! This is not diner food at all! This food is freaking amazing! We had the Brussels sprouts and potato skins to start and we were off to a great start! I got the Santa Fe chicken and it was amazing! A ton of cheese, a perfect amount of avocado, and a lemon aioli that is to die for! Dan has the fish and chips which he said was also amazing but mine was better. The service was exceptional! My family has been eating here since opening year. Def. the most consistently good food in town! I love that they have a few Mediterranean dishes on the menu, in addition to all of the diner classics- just enough variety to allow you to eat here for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Some favorites: Sonoma Veggie Hash, Cobb Salad, the Reuben! My kids love the breakfast burrito & Mickey Mouse pancakes, as well as the kids burger (which actually comes w/ lettuce etc. preventing that typically basic/bland kids menu item). Every now & then you can find me sneaking a bite of my husbands chicken fried steak with house-made biscuit & gravy (how I envy his metabolism). I just have one gripe- Dear Fandees, please bring back the vegan potato salad; it was unique & drool worthy. read more
