I go here for one thing and one thing the BREAKFAST BURRITO. It is incredible. It is blend of potato, egg, bacon, sausage, cheese and who knows what else. As a surfer I have had my fair share of Breakfast Burritos up and down the coast and nothing compares to this one. It is so large I refer to it as the day ended. Nothing like getting out of the water freezing cold calling ahead and ordering one so it is RED TO GO when you walk in the door. They have serve yourself coffee which is very nice. The prices are very reasonable. Plenty of street parking, side or rear parking lot. Definitely THE El Segundo local diner. Serves breakfast all day and makes a damn good burger. Honestly, couldnt tell you about the other food since I only order maybe 3-4 different things off the menu. If you hadn't left your wallet somewhere in El Segundo and hungover, get a breakfast burrito. I've sworn that this is THE hangover cure for 10 years. By the way, this is a cafe. I like their food and for the most part the employees there are nice, but there's a Hispanic lady there that is rude as hell. By the way, I am Hispanic too, so NO this isn't a racial rant. She gets upset when u disturb her from having a conversation with the cooks. She damn near threw my food on the counter after I gave her my order number, she gave me my change and didn't even look at me to say thank you. She turned her back at me and continued to carry on with her conversation. I had to be sarcastic and say "GRACIAS" and she said "Mm hmm". Well, if you like your Mexican food as bland as all get out, a look inside straight out of about 30 years ago, and slow (if at least quietly friendly) service, and prices which are not especially low or anything, then by all means head on over to Fantastic Cafe. A staple weekend visit to Fantastic ( or more recently a quick pick-up for take out) ... we go for the Breakfast burrito with salsa because it is amazing. Great place for a quick burger and fries, love the onion rings and zucchini fries with ranch... or if you prefer to cut out the carbs.... Spinach Omelet with feta.... one of my favorites, or chicken breast salad . Free soda refills, friendly staff and great comfort food. Each time I have ordered a simple Bacon and Egg ONLY sandwich it comes drenched with mayonnaise and tomatoes. If this was a one time occurrence I could understand, but its frequent. I've eaten at several branches of this local chain, for breakfast lunch and dinner, and I haven't had anything remotely fantastic. At best, I'd call the food adequate. No matter what I've ordered-omelettes, burgers, burritos, etc.--nothing is awful, but nothing is good enough to order twice. The aforementioned burger combo is now up to $5.39 but that's still not bad. I almost got the Patty Melt, which is my usual goto at places like this, but the Cheeseburger did me fine. Coworkers got the grilled chicken sandwich and were pleased (especially after adding a dollop of the homemade salsa verde). They made a mistake on my pickup order and I had to drive back to pickup the missing items. They apologized but didn't offer anything for compensation. I don't normally leave bad reviews BUT they ruined my morning. I came here for breakfast because I used to go to the one in Torrance and it was always good. I asked for a breakfast burrito with bacon, which means NO sausage or ham. I get to work and start to eat my burrito. First bite, no bacon. 2nd bite, no bacon and the hashbrowns tasted a little well done. After the 3rd bite I open the burrito. My hash browns were BLACK (no I'm not exaggerating)and as for the bacon, none. There were maybe 3 or 4 little pieces of bacon, torn up and scrambled into egg and one little sausage piece. I would have taken it back but it's not close enough to my job. I should have taken a picture because I really can't believe they would have served something like that. Needless to say, this is the 2nd time they have given me bad food so I will not be going back. Would have given "0" stars if I could. read more

Happen to be in this area and wanted breakfast burrito. Not too crazy about this place and the food cuz I've eaten awesome breakfast burrito in my side of the town in burbank called "corner cottage" the ingredients wasn't fully cooked so you taste the raw potato. The bacon was very soft and not tasty, means its not good quality bacon that they use. It would be probably my last visit to this place for breakfast burrito. ok, ok, i'll admit it. i'm a total size queen. the bigger the better. i don't care if it's horrible, as long as it's huge i'm happy. ....that is, when it comes to breakfast. yeah. i'm talking about big ass breakfasts, and Fantastic Cafe has got that shit down. so it's not the best quality food, but if you want massive quantities on the cheap this is your spot. i'm a fan of the veggie omelette (mushrooms, avocado, jack cheese, bell peppers and what i'm thinking must be about a dozen eggs) which comes with hash browns and toast. the only downside (besides the fact that this food will probably give me a heart attack by 35) is that they butter the toast for you. i'll decide who butters my toast, thank you very much! read more

Arrived at 9:03 pm and it was obvious they were cleaning up already. Mopping the entrances where customers walk in and then the lady turns off the open Sign at 9:25, Guy mopping all around our table. But they get 3 stars for good hot food. Glad I stopped by but do the owners know what is really going on at the end of the day? there are a lot of people coming in shame that the guy keeps mopping the same area over and over again. At this location is almost a miracle if you get your order correct, and they will always question everything when you tell them the order is wrong. Often times they will overcharge you and you wont realize it so pay attention when they ring you up. The food is pretty good after the hoops you have to jump through to get it. read more

First off I'm from San Diego and the mexican food over there is everywhere. A lot of it is heavily Americanized as you would imagine, such as the invention of California Burritos. These are basically Carne Asada burritos with french fries in it. Apparently it only exist in San Diego cuz everywhere I've been in LA, they have never heard of this, but since I live in El Segundo, I was hoping Fantastic Cafe would cater to my request and they did! The food is plentiful and not bad. We used to eat there every Friday morning. (A group from LAX) We call in the orders but its really a crap shoot what we will get when we pick them up. Mind you these are not gigantic orders. I think the largest group we have had was 8. Today there were 2 of us and the order we received was 50% correct. I mean how hard is it to hold the hash browns on a burrito? This is not an isolated incident. It actually is a shock when they get it all correct. After I told her what I'd like to order she said #14 and hung up on me without giving a time for food to be ready. I called back and got someone else, she said "uhmmmmmmm mayyyybe 15 minutes?".
