We ordered the artichoke dip, the Farm Sticks, and two pizzas. We were passing through on a quick trip North, and it's difficult for us to find quality food. We usually only eat organic and vegetarian, so it often feels like our choices are rather limited. We were delighted to come across this place! The entire order took about an hour to prepare. The food was hot and very tasty. If you're an artichoke fan, go for the artichoke dip. It was packed with artichoke. The verge pizza we got had a lot of toppings, which was great. Super bomb, conscientiously made food :) the beet salad was really quite good and the pizza was very fresh.. some of the best pizza in Chico. My only complaint was the wait time! Woah. Yummy-eee went there for the first time ever!! I looked on YELP! For pizza places open & did take-out & Farm Star was close by. I have driven by FS for 2 yrs and never stopped. We had the Dairy Maid with pepperoni...the website said all pies are 14" and weigh a LB. It was OMG delicious!! At $16.00 canT beat the homemade goodness & fresh ingredients. Though this was take-out, there was a couple ahead of me tasting the on-tap beer including a Farm Star Blonde that the man chose, the wife chose wine. I was never a big pizza lover, they were all kind of the same to me....but Farm Star changed that! The food is AMAZING. Absolutely the best pizza in Chico. Affordable too! I got the Nanny Goat and I was blown away by how great it tasted. The crust was really impressive- crisp on the outside, but still chewy in the center. Pure perfection. I highly recommend the nanny goat and classico. Overcooked cheese, crust was so crunchy/hard I couldn't chew it. Dairy maid was just a burnt little Cesar's cheese pizza with 3 dollops of chewy white mozzarella on top. No one was at the counter, so I was left wondering why it took so long. Large party of hippies to our left, they had many dishes coming out, so I finally got it. Our pizza came. It was fine. The salad was great. The drinks... not so much. As the guy from the kitchen delivered our pizza, he tells us "whatever you need, let us know." So I ask for another iced tea (refill). "Well, actually, could me to the front. We are really busy." Wow. So we pretend customer service, we offer it, but...we don't mean it. Nope. I get better service from a pizza chain. When we drove up people we already parking on the neighboring street. We thought about trying somewhere else, but we were pretty much sold on farm fresh pizza so we stuck with it... We encountered a line upon entering with no real sign or direction. Through observation we figures out you seat yourself and order/pay at the front. We were able to grab a table. One of the cool features is the table tops are chalk boards so I was able to doodle some love notes to my dining partner while she ordered/payed. They use imitation/plastic veggies as table markers. Ours was garlic and the neighboring table had broccoli. Cute without being cheesy. They also have a foose ball table and a piano in the second room. You also have to get yourself water and napkins. I don't mind serving myself but a little direction would have been nice! Also, there was no water in the pitcher and no cups when we tried to get some, but this was quickly remedied. Now onto the food! We ordered a Wintersweet salad and had them split onto 2 plates. Not huge but a nice precursor to our pizza! Totally fresh and it had warm beets which was a pleasant surprise. The pie we chose was the Nanny Goat: bacon (mmm), goat cheese, roasted garlic, leeks, and scallions. All in all I think this is a great place. They need to have a few more hands on deck for a Friday night, but I'm sure it was worse because we happened to time our visit on the day they were featured in the CN&R! read more

They have the most amazing wood-fired gourmet pizzas, for the quality of the pizzas the price is very fair.

Stopped in on a whim, really was craving some delicious pizza, this place is bit of a hipster joint, the place is pretty neat, lots of cool advertisements and trendy stuff on walls, stage for live music. My former favorite pizza place has really gone downhill in providing decent service. Seems that getting orders correct or communicating to customers that they could be waiting well over an hour for a pizza and being unapologetic for both is asking a little too much. Farm Star, some times the pizza has been anazing, sometimes less than so. I can't waste any more time and money waiting to see if the pizza or the service will be decent. read more

I placed a phone order to go. Was told it was only going to take 35 min. Showed up at 35 min, paid and was told it was going to be done shortly. After over an hour I went up and asked about my order. Everyone looked confused, they had forgot I had even paid and eventually said they missed placed my tag. Looked in the back and the cook was laughing about it. I've been wanting to try out this pizza joint for awhile and it really is delicious. The pizzas are big enough for two people or three people who don't eat very much. I gave it four stars just because it is a little pricy with almost all the pizzas being around $20 but honestly it's not truly a problem on their part I'm just poor lol. The crust is flaky and the ingredients are really fresh. I personally enjoy this place over Woodstock's especially because it's a much thinner crust. Highly recommend anyone to go here I'd be immensely surprised if it disappoints. read more

Delicious, and not your run of the mill pepperoni pizza. Interesting ingredients that take pizza to a whole other level. Maybe a little sophisticated for some, especially those who have a preconceived idea of what pizza "should " be like...and don't like to try something different. But in my opinion it's way better and I go there often. (Mr green jeans is fantastic) try them all...they have a meat eaters that my male friends really like. Only one thing could be improved upon... if they could make it wood fired it would put it over the top ..going from great to fantastic. We wanted to check this place out as they had gluten free options. The pizza was delicious and loved all the unique flavors. Staff was super friendly. They forgot our artichoke appetizer, so my husband had to go ask about it. No big deal. We got it about when we were about halfway done with the pizza.
